Magi is on break this week.

Red Sprite may be added if it gets past the benchmark Black Clover did, meaning around 20 chapters minimum. Look forward to it. Nice sort of steampunk dystopian story, orphans trying to fight against an oppressive regime and utilizing electrical powers.

Black Clover 83

Domina explains that they have to conceal their magic or the Witch Queen will sense them with her immense ability covering the entire kingdom, utilizing some cloaks she made.

After using a secret passage, they’re forced to utilize the 2 cloaks they have, cramped in them as separate groups.

But Fanzel gets the male group’s cloak caught on a branch, sighted by a security golem as they decide they need to just go in full force to get to the queen’s room.

They get through the hole made by the Queen last chapter and see Vanessa under her foot, defeated by the skill she has over her progeny.

Asta is infuriated, the Queen unimpressed at someone so below her talking in such a way to the mother of all Witches.

He ignores her, rushing to attack, teleported behind the Witch Queen by Finral, but still attacked by her crow magic as she comments on how he has no magic.

Asta is unfazed, noting that he’s still better than someone who treats their family in such a way that she has to Vanessa.

The Witch Queen realizes he’s the person Vanessa wanted to help, not sure why she’d want to assist someone of low birth like him.

But she stops as she recognizes a group of people moving to attack the Witch Kingdom.

It turns out it’s both the Diamond Kingdom and the Eye of the Midnight Sun, joining forces against them as the chapter ends on their inevitable assault.

Boku no Hero Academia 112

Inasa explains that he was always someone who was passionate about whatever drew his interest, including Heroes and Endeavor’s cold eyes disappointed him in that they lacked such an emotion that he thought was essential for Heroes.

He remembers when he was in Yuuei’s entrance exam, a different format than Deku’s, and encountered Todoroki. After they finished, he tried to make friends, but he was bluntly dismissed as an annoyance, Todoroki only focusing on passing the exam.

In the present, the examiners think Todoroki and Inasa are likely going to be rejected in this exam because of their present behavior.

Todoroki remembers Inasa, thinking he must’ve been so focused on surpassing his father that he ignored anything else, the memories coming back to him now.

Gang Orca takes Inasa and Todoroki out with his sound wave attacks, both of them unable to fully counter the teamwork Gang Orca has with the other subordinates, who distract them with the cement gun attacks.

Todoroki realizes he’s become the very thing he hates and resolves to turn things around, Gang Orca’s members leaving him to finish things here.

Shindou helps Deku with a follow up shockwave attack, having developed resistance to attacks like Gang Orca’s supersonic technique.

Deku moves to help the evacuations further as we go back to Gang Orca, who is ready to head out after finishing off the two major Heroes in the area.

But Todoroki and Inasa, getting over their conflict, decide to combine their efforts, implicitly understanding each others’ strategy as they unleash their Quirks to send a flaming blast, guided by the wind, to attack Gang Orca as the chapter ends

Seven Deadly Sins 197

The chapter starts with Howzer waking up, bickering with his father about him being a bum and not acting up to his potential. He says he’ll be heading out, told by his father that someone from the castle said there’s something important he needs to be there for as he leaves.

Howzer is confused at the town being seemingly restored, at least in regards to the castle and some surrounding buildings.

As Escanor is massaging Merlin’s feet in the bath, she notes that it’s mostly superficial in nature and only accounts for about half of the damage from the attack.

She also explains that she cannot heal those killed by the Demons or reverse the Commandment of Piety that motivates the affected group of Holy Knights to make a pilgrimage to Camelot, where the stronghold of the Ten Commandments likely is.

The victory is with the Seven Deadly Sins, though, so she says it’s fine to have some celebration

Ban talks to Meliodas, asking where he went last night, since he couldn’t find him to party in the fashion they usually do after such a battle. He also notes that he doesn’t hate Meliodas, just confused at the situation and what he should do.

Escanor recites a poem, seemingly reflecting in some way on the state of Meliodas and Ban being cursed and the like, an attempt to cheer them up. Meliodas thanks them both for their encouragement

Meanwhile, Bartra is holding an announcement, saying that they still have a tough battle ahead of them with the Ten Commandments and the Demon Clan as a whole remaining a major threat.

So he moves to appoint a new captain of the Holy Knights, Howzer saying he fully supports Dreyfus or Hendricksen, though they humbly decline. Bartra nominates Howzer, saying that he has the traits necessary and made exemplary efforts during the attack to keep his king safe.

Howzer reluctantly accepts, saying he’ll do his best to meet the expectations of Bartra and the others.

Merlin comments that they need to reunite the Seven Deadly Sins before anything else, Deathpierce releasing Gowther from his prison cell. Gowther behaves oddly, first noting that he’s the Seven Deadly Sins’ Goat’s Sin and then that he is the Selflessness of the Ten Commandments, possibly taking on Fraudrin’s Commandment after death.

The chapter ends as we see King training, trying to get his wings to grow and he’s stunned to see Diane, who was trying to train her dance, also naked in the pool of the World Tree’s roots, both of them crying out in embarrassment.

World Trigger 162

Osamu wonders why the head of Border would have had a room at the Tamakoma Branch when they don’t get along very well.

He finds a photo, recognizing some of the people in it, like Jin, Konami, Reiji and Yuri, though it looks like the photo has to be at least 5 years old, back to the founding of Border and Tamakoma Branch’s founding members.

Yuri recognizes the picture, from about 6 years back. She points out Kido, not having his scar the least of the differences, a bright smile on his face confusing Osamu with the present experience he’s had with Border’s head administrator.

Osamu asks if Kido lived here, Yuri saying that was the case. She also explains that Tamakoma’s headquarters now used to be Border’s main headquarters before the main building was constructed, only 19 members in the original Border.

He inquires about which members transferred to HQ, Yuri noting that Kidou, Kiriyama, Shinoda moved and one girl quit. But the remaining members unaccounted for died in the conflict 5 years ago before Border was made official.

She explains how Tamakoma’s emblem was representative of the old Border and its alliance with 3 Neighbor nations, as well as the bond they had created.

One of the nations was especially close in orbit to earth and was attacked by another country. The old Border fended off the attack, to protect their pact with the nation they defended and to keep earth from being caught up in the assault.

But over half their members died in that effort, Kidou branching off into his own Border section and expanding the membership greatly in the 5 years since then. They disagreed, but Border HQ and Tamakoma were still willing to cooperate, the efforts against the large scale Neighbor invasion recently evidence that Kidou’s way wasn’t entirely invalid in being prepared against attacks from enemy Neighbors.

Tamakoma on the other hand still hasn’t’ found a solid basis for their own development yet, so they’ve fallen behind Kidou’s forces.

Konami comes in, Yuri noting how close she was to Rindou, the picture showing her clinging to him like a daughter, which embarrasses the normally tough agent.

Yuma and Hyuse’s practice match shows Yuma’s still better by comparison, though Hyuse’s Trion horns will allow him to get better at manipulation with some practice.

Chika offers Yuma a chance to go to HQ and practice, Hyuse saying he’ll stay behind to practice more, not wanting to stand out at HQ.

Yuma tells Reiji and Chika he’s planning to go with Kageura for dinner and such after training, so they can go back without him.

The chapter ends as he begins his training session with Kageura and Murakami, while Chika and Natsume head off to joint Sniper training.

One Piece 844

Sanji continues to emphasize how much of a failure he thinks Luffy’s crew is and how Big Mom’s crew is much better by comparison.

Nami insists Sanji’s lying, Luffy in disbelief that Sanji deceived them.  Sanji then moves to emphasize his point, using Diable Jambe to kick Luffy straight in the face, knocking him back. But Luffy insists he won’t fight Sanji.

Sanji continues to pummel Luffy, Nami trying to sway Sanji by noting how Luffy put himself in danger against Cracker in a fight that lasted an entire night. But Luffy persists, saying that he’ll take anything Sanji dishes out.

After leaping into the air, Sanji lands a solid blow of Concasse to Luffy’s head, seemingly knocking him out.

Nami, in frustration, slaps Sanji across the face, sarcastically speaking to him as if he’s royalty as she leaves.

As Sanji’s group leaves, Luffy, stabilizing himself after being unconscious, shouts that he doesn’t believe Sanji is truthful in what he’s saying, knowing him better than that.

He even vows that he won’t leave the spot he’s standing in until Sanji comes back, even going so far as to not eat anything until Sanji serves him.

The chapter ends as Luffy says he can’t truly become the Pirate King without the best chef at his side.

Toriko 393

Acacia wonders why Toriko cries at his demise, Toriko explaining that there’s no reason for him to be angry anymore.

The Gourmet God thinks to himself that appetite, regardless of how evil or good the person is, is completely pure at its core, which is why NEO couldn’t withstand Toriko’s immense rage. This is why Acacia provoked Midora and Toriko to anger in order to kill him, a foolish human.

PAIR wonders why he calls himself as such, remembering when he and Acacia discussed the plan to seal NEO. But Acacia inquires about a way to prevent oneself from being taken over by their Appetite Demon, thinking that there could be a method to retrieve the cells that NEO consumed. PAIR thinks he’s being naĂŻve, trying to redeem himself in some way.

What NEO did, according to PAIR, wasn’t evil or good, it was just appetite. Acacia wants to figure out the motivations of his Appetite Demon, PAIR reminding him that he needs to convince Frohze to prepare the Full Course for them to seal NEO.

Acacia wonders how NEO still isn’t satisfied after all these aeons.

He later tells PAIR he may have a way to restore PAIR’s lost allies and fellow Nitro, thinking that the principle of conservation of matter and energy applies to appetite energy and Gourmet Cells as well, meaning they’re still somewhere in the universe through reincarnation and the like. With that, PAIR is surprisingly emotional at the prospect of meeting his brethren.

Acacia notes how this is his life’s mission, to save the world and help his appetite be satisfied in some way. But he still wonders if what he’s doing is right, deliberating with himself on this and even telling Ichiryuu that he may have to die, entrusting the future to his top student.

PAIR tells Acacia in the present that he was no fool, having the courage to stand up against his appetite and risk it all to save the world from that appetite

As Acacia’s consciousness is fading, it suddenly stops, Acacia shocked as he thinks Midora must have used some kind of Knocking to stop that defense mechanism.

He asks when Midora figured it out, Midora saying it was when he noticed that what Acacia did to Frohze wasn’t Knocking, it was a mercy kill to prevent further suffering, stopping Midora from having to deal the finishing blow to Frohze’s body

Midora notes that his Knocking will soon wear off, since he isn’t Jirou and cannot use the ultimate Knocking.  But the first thing he copied with his mirror neurons was Acacia’s affection, truly a kind person at heart.

But CENTER is still bursting forth from the earth, Aimaru telling Teppei that he has to use Knocking to stop the earth from being destroyed. He pulled Teppei in, protecting him with his fungus. But Teppei thinks it’s impossible, until Jirou’s spirit appears to him, saying that he can do it as his son.

The earth’s destruction is stopped, to everyone’s surprise, but PAIR notes that creates a new problem. Since the cycle of Gourmet Cells and the Full Course of the earth is connected to the planet being destroyed, the elements from it reconstituting into a new and more savory flavor for another planet, the cessation of CENTER’s explosion means a new Full Course cannot be created.

Acacia brings up NEO’s potential of flavor, everything that he’s eaten until now still resting in the spirit world. And with Frohze preparing it, things are nearly complete with his plans to save the earth.

The chapter ends as he asks Toriko to take care of NEO as he seemingly vomits up all the ingredients NEO has consumed.

Fairy Tail 507

Natsu and Gray remember how Erza has been important to them since she joined Fairy Tail, someone who needed friends more than anyone.

Erza tells them to remember the history they had together, speaking something that Makarov once told them. They shouldn’t let their clash lead to hatred, retaining respect for the person they fight, because both of them are remaining true to their beliefs.

She embraces both of them as Juvia and Lucy arrive, Wendy, Charle and Happy also in tow, hugging their friends and saying how happy they are that they’re alive.

Meanwhile, Oracion Seis is unable to do anything against August, his power such that he can counter Cobra’s ability to hear people’s thoughts, Racer’s slowing down of time and even Midnight’s warping of things, Jellal thinking they have no options left to defeat him.

Erza and the others are about to head to Porylusica, but duck down as an explosion hits, Eileen appearing before them.

She comments on how it’s been a long time since she’s seen Erza, but Erza doesn’t recognize her.

The chapter ends as Eileen simply says that she is Erza and Erza is her, the mystery unclear as to their exact relationship.
