Seven Deadly Sins 78.5 + 78

The sidestory focuses on Ban and Elaine, Elaine wondering why humans are so greedy. Ban answers that it’s mainly due to human desires. But Elaine is more concerned about the excess, Ban responding that maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to live like fairies, without so many material concerns.

He then says the fact that humans live such short lives compared to fairies is a big part of why they want something so much. They’re willing to die for anything that proves they made a difference.

Elaine takes away his ale label collection, saying she’ll give it back if he tells her what that thing is for him. But he says he doesn’t have one, catching her and embarrassing her by not realizing that she’s started to develop romantic feelings for him. The extra chapter ends on that.

In the main chapter, Ban waits for a response from the Goddess Clan, but gets nothing, starting to leave. But he hears a voice, turning around to see it’s Hawk, both of them shocked to see each other. They’re about to leave, but Ban tells Hawk to go ahead as he still wants to try to resurrect Elaine.

The voice of a Goddess resonates through the Horn of Cernunnos, saying they cannot normally resurrect someone, since they lost most of their power in the war with the Demon Clan. But a fairy is apparently not as difficult. Ban asks if they plan to take his life but they say he will be given a mission instead, and once he completes it, they will bring Elaine back. Ban agrees as we shift scenes.

Arthur and Hendricksen have some quick banter, while Meliodas and Gilthunder fight with amazing speed. Meliodas even pushes back Gilthunder, who counters with a long range lightning attack. Meliodas knocks it back, but he sees that it’s a delayed attack in multiple bursts, having to counter each one. As he’s using Full counter, Gilthunder appears behind Meliodas and strikes him, appearing in front of him and knocking his sword out of his grasp. Gilthunder then uses an even stronger attack, Iron Hammer of the Thunder Emperor.

It seems like Gilthunder has won, but the scene shifts back to Ban and the Goddess Clan.

The mission they give him is to kill a certain person, someone that affects the balance of all 4 clans: Meliodas. The chapter ends on Meliodas, having reverted to his “demonic” form and stopping Gilthunder’s attack cold and Ban’s shock at having to kill his best friend to revive the one he loves.

Magi 226

We start with a flashback to Sheba realizing that Solomon is David’s son, prostrating before him. She asks why he ran away from his great position as the inheritor of David’s legacy. He starts to explain, but we flashforward to the lower level magicians telling Solomon he must stand as a godlike ruler above all other species, since he is descended from humanity, chosen by Il Ilah as its representative. Other species insist they should be Solomon’s disciples, but that only creates more infighting.

Back in the past, Solomon says there are a few reasons, like he didn’t want to be seen as superior to others, as well as his love for all living things. But primarily, he wanted to make friends. Initially he thought he was superior to everyone, but after hanging out with Ugo and Arba, his first friends, he started to change. Then he met the Origin Dragon and really started to want to make connections.

The others speak to Solomon in the present about the need for a king to make any kind of equality of the species possible. He acknowledges this, concluding that he’ll have to accept some kind of hierarchy and be at the top. He says the others should devote themselves to their shared cause, even if he is treated as superior to them in some way.

Sheba confides in Solomon that she’s confident he is the best candidate to be a king and that the others are worried as well that he had to sacrifice one of his ideals to create the world he hoped for. The others promised they would stop him if he became reckless, though they don’t think that would ever happen.

Later, Solomon and the major leaders of the group (probably numbering in some way divisible into 72, though not quite at that level, since a good number of the 72 staves are used to keep the species protected) go into Ugo’s lab. He starts to explain about the rukh to everyone and how his studies have advanced. He simplifies things into 3 dimensions: the physical, the vector (which relates to the laws of nature and physics) and the spiritual, where the rukh exists and flows.

The others, especially Ithnan, are somewhat skeptical of the usefulness of rukh, Ugo saying it’s a great energy source. But he also says it’s very difficult to use, since it’s out of alignment with what magicians can manipulate, which is, at best the laws of physics themselves, but no further.

He also notes that the rukh is equal in its qualities for every living being, since it exists in everything.  The chapter ends on Solomon having some kind of vision, potentially representing the cycle of the rukh in their world and they continue the research. The next chapter will be the night before the battle with David.

World Trigger 61

Rambanein compliments them for doing so much damage to him, Viza having told him Earth/Meeden had improved over the years. The other Black Trigger user (besides Enedora) opens up portals behind Yosuke to attack him, but he dodges. Rambanein is called back, seemingly not killed, but his job, whatever it was, is complete, according to the lone female Neighbor. As they retreat, Midorikawa is confused that the gate itself was a Trigger.

The group splits up, the A rank agents going to support the C rank trainees escaping, the B rank agents going to defend the areas still under attack.

We see Jin react, telling Yuma that the future has changed slightly. Since a person who was trying to affect the future towards the bad side is removed, things are improved towards Border’s side, if only a bit. The major turning point will be getting Osamu and Chika to the base, so everyone else has to keep their attackers at bay.

Back with Konami and Viza’s fight, he notes that Rambanein’s defeat shows that Meeden’s soldiers aren’t to be taken lightly. Konami thinks Viza’s been taking it easy, but he insists he’s serious. A Trion soldier bursts out behind him, moving towards the city. It seems that Viza was just distracting her so they could continue to assault the more populated areas with the Rabits.

Karasuma notices something as he and Osamu are moving towards the base, Reiji and Konami confirming it’s Kyosuke’s house. He tells Konami to fight the Trion soldiers, even though Konami knows that’s just trying to draw her away from the battle. But Reiji tells her they have to keep them occupied as long as possible, since the major victory isn’t defeating them, but protecting the citizens. Reiji is left to take on Viza and Hyuse, wondering if he can handle them both.

The chapter ends as Enendora is revealed to have infiltrated into Border’s main base through the exhaust vents in his Black Trigger form, posing a huge threat to everyone there.

Naruto 678

We see that all the world is under the Infinite Tsukyomi’s power, every major shinobi village assaulted by the Divine Tree’s roots and people cocooned.

Sakura and Kakashi ask Sasuke about what’s going on, but he tells them to leave it to him. Naruto chides him, saying they should work together. Kakashi says Sasuke should probably take over, since he’s the only one who can communicate what’s happening outside. Naruto still disagrees, Sasuke explaining that they’re probably the few that are unaffected by Madara’s Mugen Tsukuyomi (Infinite Tsukuyomi)

We see various people’s dreams, Hinata with Naruto on a date, Kiba declaring a national holiday and Shino finding a new species of bug. Ino Shika Cho also have visions, Ino the target of Sai and Sasuke’s affections, Shikamaru not wanting to get married (with Temari next to him, suggesting they may be a couple) and Chouji finding a woman who loves to cook for him. Lee imagines he’s defeated Neji and Naruto, Sakura confessing her love to him. Tenten dreams Gai and Lee have decided to not look so weird in their hairstyles. Mai, the Mizukage, has married someone. Tsunade dreams she’s married Dan and her brother Nawaki is alive, Jiraiya trying to corrupt him with his erotic novels. Gaara has a vision of his family happy together and Naruto his friend.

Naruto asks when they can leave, Sasuke explaining that the moonlight propagates the genjutsu and they have to wait until it subsides. It does so, Susanoo opening up as Black Zetsu realizes the genjutsu had a limited frame to affect people. Sasuke thinks they can negate it with his Rinnegan, but Black Zetsu plans to stop them.

Madara appears as well, his four Limbo shadows still a threat. He says that now things are much better, Naruto retorting that it’s all based on an illusion, a lie. Madara responds that Naruto shouldn’t try to interfere with people’s happiness.

But suddenly, Madara is attacked from behind by Black Zetsu, revealing that the will embedded in him is not Madara’s, but Kaguya’s, who somehow was already in Madara, even though he lost Ashura’s chakra.

The chapter ends on Madara seemingly being taken over by Kaguya.

One Piece 749

We return where we left off, Pica’s hand and even arm broken apart by King Prodence’s punch and Chinjao’s headbutt.

Luffy’s group starts to break through the grunts, some of the coliseum participants unleashing their signature moves, like Ideo, Orlumbus and Cavendish. Pica readies another attack, Zoro telling them to pull back, since they still don’t understand how his powers work. It creates another huge shockwave.

The others don’t know where Luffy went to, suddenly seeing him climbing Pica’s arm with Ushi, Abdullah and Jeet in tow, as well as Zoro. Luffy didn’t realize this, telling them to get off.

Pica regenerates his lost arm, moving to attack. But Luffy leaps off Ushi and uses Gum Gum Grizzly Magnum to smash Pica’s head to pieces. Zoro tells Luffy that they’re just on a statue and the real body appears right nearby, ready to take them on directly. The stone man summons a giant katana, Ushi unable to dodge. Luffy jumps over it just in time, though, with Ushi held above him.

Pica starts to attack again, Zoro taking him on while Luffy. Abdullah and Jeet ride Ushi further ahead to the Palace.

The others realize Pica’s statue has stopped moving, so they take the opportunity to move further. Law tells Luffy that he’s realized the plan he suggested was wrong, so he’s going to try to settle the score with Doflamingo as well. 13 years ago, Doflamingo murdered Corazon, the top executive of the Donquixote family and Doflamingo’s younger brother. The chapter ends on this revelation. One Piece will be on hiatus for the next two weeks.

Toriko 279

We focus on Joa’s tracing a path to Dining Planet, a mysterious place that we don’t know anything about in Gourmet World. Joa speaks about how one cannot truly appreciate health unless you are sick, the dual nature of our existence allowing us to realize how little we truly have and enabling us to value it that much more in the grand scheme of the world. Acacia was also such a person and Food Luck is what led him to his ingredients

A Nitro appears behind Joa, saying they’re the second person to reach Dining Planet, Joa saying their mother was the first, meaning Joa isn’t a zombie Frohze, but something else. The Food Luck led Joa here and she says it will become greater with Acacia’s Full Course. She says she cannot allow anyone else to get it.

Joa decides to send out members of Neo, saying the 7 Gourmet Nobles, the Blue Nitro, don’t have to exert themselves. The Ark spoken of before in relation to finding Acacia’s Full Course is complete, so they’re that much closer.

The members of Neo receive the contact from Joa, excited to get closer to Acacia’s Full Course. Yuda is amazed at Joa creating the path, but Umeda explains it was always there and only she could see it.

Meanwhile, Komatsu’s group manages to get out of Gold Labyrinth. Mappy is amazed, concluding Komatsu could just see the path, not unlike Joa with the path to Dining Planet.

The group found a lot of treasure chests in Gold Labyrinth, likely holding ingredients. But before they can start to open them, a giant drop hits Octomelon in the head. But it’s nothing threatening, the group deciding to get a bath and have a meal.

They see another type of rain, Amedama, which looks like hitodama from Japanese folklore. A mysterious eyeball soul appears and the chapter ends as we see the entrance to Hex Food World.

Bleach 582

Ichigo and Kenpachi have some banter, Kenpachi telling Ichigo to worry about himself before asking if he can stand.

Candice attacks Ichigo from behind, but he quickly dodges and grabs her arm, throwing her into a building. The other three surround him, Liltotto almost getting him, only grabbing his cape. Ichigo knocks all three of them away with a single strike each, almost mimicking how easily he beat 3 Vice Captains when he first achieved Bankai.

The three are surprised, though Liltotto reminds Giselle and Meninas that Ichigo is the “leader” of the special war powers, the two shocked at this realization of who’s before them.

Candice bursts from the tower, frustrated that Ichigo got her disheveled.    She hits a heart shaped area on her uniform, summoning a small bow, firing an arrow at Ichigo, combining her Schrift power with it to make it stronger.

She thinks she’s defeated him, but Liltotto is realistic. Ichigo is unscathed, only his robe destroyed by the attack. The others summon their bows as well and they start their attacks as Ichigo pulls out his dual Zanpakutou.

The scene shifts to Juhabach, who tells Uryuu and Jugram, both next to him, that something is about to start: Askin also reacts, suggesting he’s aware of it as the chapter ends.

Fairy Tail 386

Lucy collapses after casting Urano Metria, but the other Nine Demon Gates comment that Jackal’s magic power is gone, meaning Lucy’s still alive.

The Spirit King is having some difficulty against Marde, trying to use all the power the other spirits can give him. He unleashes Galaxia Blade, utilizing the power of all 88 constellations. Marde wonders if he’ll disregard Lucy becoming collateral damage, but the Spirit King seems to have a plan in mind.

Erza is freed by the light from the Galaxia Blade, the others following suit. The Spirit King leaves, saying he’ll entrust the battle to Fairy Tail, Marde turning to stone as Alegria is dispelled.

Torafusa attacks Lucy, Gajille stopping the attack. Keith attacks, Juvia blocking it. Then Silver attacks her, but Gray holds him back. Tempesta attacks with flame (unexpectedly), but Natsu absorbs it, the chapter ending on the main fighters squaring off, ready to return the favor Lucy gave them.

There’ll be another side story for Seven Deadly Sins next week and a 30 page main chapter

Seven Deadly Sins 77

We hear an announcement, the knights and Holy Knights focusing on protecting the citizens and the castle. Ban is nearby and we see that he split up from Meliodas so they could try to find Elizabeth in multiple places.

Ban finds a guard, stealing his teeth right out of his mouth to interrogate him. He eventually finds the secret passage leading down into the dungeon.

Diane wants to go, but King tells her she should rest. The giantess responds that he’s healed her wounds, so she’ll be okay, plus she wants to rescue Elizabeth too.

Dreyfus, Hauser and Guira, Gowther in tow, decide to stop Hendricksen from sacrificing Elizabeth to resurrect the Demon Clan.

Gowther has recovered, noting Hauser isn’t lying, telling Diane that Hauser is mainly going for her sake. Dreyfus then agrees they’ll make a truce for the time being to stop the more pressing threat. Gowther is suspicious, noting that one of two “Dreyfuses” could’ve said that.

King and Diane have a nice moment together, King saying Elizabeth was how he was reunited with his friends. The group leaves to find her.

Back at the fight with Hendricksen/Gilthunder and Meliodas/Arthur, Hendricksen is confident Dreyfus won with the battle elsewhere that’s seemingly over. He also says the Sins are pitiful compared to their past selves. He and Gilthunder are slashed by Meliodas from a distance, who taunts them into fighting him.

Meanwhile, Hawk is still trying to figure out where he is, Ban coming down to his location, instead of the dungeon. He confirms that the single thing visible in the catacomb is the Horn of Cernunnos, which allows people to talk to the Goddess Clan.

The chapter ends on Ban making a request of the Goddess Clan: in exchange for his life, resurrect Elaine, King’s sister.

Magi 225

The others are commenting on how nice it is that after about 3 months, Solomon and Sheba are getting along better (though Sheba still seems very nervous and seems to melt into a cartoonish puddle as Solomon kisses her)

Problems are still occurring with the species, the group continuing to liberate others, but previous species are still fighting amongst each other, either within the Isolation Barriers or between them as borders of sorts.

Someone indicates to Solomon that they need a strong leader, not unlike David, since they’re almost close to freeing every species from the control of the Gunud. The problem remains that unless someone serves as king, which Solomon doesn’t want, the detractors claim there cannot truly be a peaceful and equal society.

Sheba tells Solomon he’s not wrong, the scene shifting to Ugo. He tells Solomon that he agrees that things are odd, since the species are now submitting themselves to the rule of the magicians who encourage the strife or worship Solomon as a god. He’s worried that might upset, Solomon, but Solomon tells him it’s better that his closest friends don’t try to appeal to him for rewards or deceive him, but speak to him honestly.

Solomon then wonders if they can really change the world to anything better than what it was under David, since now that the species are free, they feel fear and uncertainty, which is why they have hostility towards others. It’s not malice, but general unease at the threat of the Orthodox.

The idea Solomon has is to change something more fundamental and Ugo agrees, noting that his research has made him consider that if there are leylines of power, then there may be others related to fate or history. This would enable them to prove that there is something like reincarnation that governs the spirits of people.

Ugo then further elaborates, saying that the power of the soul could be what is draining Ill Ilah’s power and not natural phenomena. They manage to create the basic elements of life, dubbing it the Rukh (though it’s black, suggesting that the reason behind Ill Ilah’s troubles is that people are becoming corrupted in some way and the Rukh is no longer pure)

Sheba and Solomon announce that they’re having a child together, naturally with no magic. But the concern of the final battle with the Orthodox remains, so a solution is proposed to solve the difficulty that would occur if Sheba were to naturally carry it to term. She’ll slow its growth down with magic so it’ll be born in a peaceful world after the conflict.

The chapter ends on everyone hoping that the battle will end with peace and Sheba is keeping the future child’s name a secret (fairly obviously it’s Aladdin)

World Trigger 60

We flashback to Yuma leaving Yosuke after fighting Midorikawa. Yosuke volunteers to fight Midorikawa, who rejects his offer. But Yosuke says Midorikawa had a good thing going, it was just that Yuma had more experience and manipulated him into thinking he had it easy and then used each subsequent battle to prove his power that much more.

Back in the present, Rambanein tries to counterattack, but Midorikawa uses Grasshopper, darting around him. The Neighbor then unleashes a barrage of attacks, Midorikawa managing to dodge. Rambanenin then leaps up to attack from a distance again, but Izumi and the Snipers assault him as he’s an easy target.

They manage to make a hit, but Rambanein counters, taking out a Sniper’s arm and nearly hitting Izumi. Azuma observes that Rambanein’s analytical with his fighting, dividing his attention evenly amongst his opponents. But when the A Rank agents started attacking, he became more precise to compensate, getting more accurate. He’s also, however, leaving more openings, so the idea is to take advantage of that.

The group uses their numerical advantage to draw Rambanein’s attention, but he figures this out as Yosuke attacks him from behind. But the B Rank agents contribute to a shield around Yosuke’s spear, the chapter ending on Yosuke stabbing through Rambanein, saying their teamwork will beat him.

Naruto 677

As Madara’s jutsu activates, the earth shakes with the tremors of power, the White Zetsu clones retreating. Meteorites, likely made by Madara’s previous use of Jibaku Tensei, rain down on some of the Ninja Alliance. Shikamaru concludes that since Naruto’s chakra that he gave everyone, as well as the God Tree, disappeared, something big is happening.

People start looking up at the moon, Sasuke realizing what it is, rushing back to the ground to find Naruto and the others.

Naruto summons even more Bijuudama Rasenshuriken to take out the meteors, Sasuke rushing down as they explode the giant rocks and telling the others to take cover.

Tenten is contemplating the Ninja Tools of the Six Paths that Madara spit out, saying she could seal him away if she only knew how. A hand bursts out of the ground, likely grabbing the tools.

We switch to Madara, who activates what is apparently just the first stage (since otherwise the series would be all but over if it was already the Infinite Tsukuyomi), a light bursting from the moon and putting almost everyone into a state of paralysis, not hypnotized quite yet. The Edo Tensei aren’t affected (because they’re not technically physical, but something like simulated bodies for their souls)

Madara utilizes the Wood Release, wrapping everyone that’s unable to move in the roots of the Divine Tree (Shinju)

Naruto wants to act, but Sasuke says that if they get out of the shield he’s created, they’ll be affected as well. He says they have to wait for the tree to grow back. Black Zetsu notes that Sasuke’s Rinnegan is somehow able to reflect the jutsu with Susanoo covering them.

Hashirama realizes what Madara’s doing, Tobirama wondering why it’s not affecting them. Suddenly, Yamato (or what might just look like him) bursts out of one of the cocoons made by the Shinju’s roots manipulated by Madara.

The chapter ends on Minato awakening after teleporting away before, seeing the tree growing back and the moon shining the light of the genjutsu on the world.

One Piece 748

Luffy is still laughing, some of Doflamingo’s grunts saying that it’d be dangerous if Pica were to go wild now. Pica moves to punch, everyone running away, since the sheer power will be immense, creating a giant crater.

Everyone’s knocked away by it, Luffy, Zoro and Law meeting up with Cavendish. He attacks, though it was apparently a joke, as he feels indebted to Luffy since Usopp saved him by defeating Sugar. Cavendish says he’s going to kill Doflamingo as repayment, Luffy saying he’s going to do it, since he wants to repay Rebecca for giving him her bento (which Law finds absurd as a reason). Everyone else, particularly Chinjao and Hajrudin, appears and vows the same thing: either to repay their debt to Usopp or just to get back at Doflamingo.

Luffy tells them to shut up, that he’ll be the one to defeat Doflamingo, the others responding that he should let them do it or they’ll kill him. Some more people appear, wanting to take Luffy, Zoro and Law for the bounty Doflamingo’s offering, the ones who feel indebted to Luffy and Usopp disappointed. They take out the attackers (even though at least half of them don’t even seem to have a motivation to save Luffy)

Meanwhile, Pica and his subordinates are looking for the Straw Hats and suddenly they appear, along with their allies, Luffy riding on Ushi from the coliseum. Pica attacks, but just King Prodence’s punch (not quite at full power) and Chinjao’s Drill Nail start to break apart Pica’s arm as the chapter ends on Luffy still telling them to stop following him.

Toriko 278

The threat of the Iron Cloud remains and it’s intensified when we see that an Iron Foot, a cloud in the shape of a foot, looming over them. It crashes down near them, followed by a barrage of them. Mappy explains that the Iron Clouds are accumulated steel from Real Mist that eventually reaches a low enough altitude. To get back up, they released steel rain called Iron Step.

Toriko tries to cut one of them with Leg Knife, but even that isn’t enough. Careru (called Croakswagon in the Viz translation) tells them to get into Octomelon’s room where Terry and the others are. Octomelon turns into Diving Mode, sinking into the swamp.

Mappy is distraught, saying they can’t get past Gold Swamp underwater. He mentions a cave where the Clear Gold (a super transparent gold dust) flows into. But that leads into Gold Labyrinth, a maze where no one has escaped. Toriko says they should just wait out the Steel Clouds, but they won’t stop for a few years and the gold dust flow draws them into Gold Labyrinth, Octomelon unable to swim back, since Diving Mode isn’t made for maneuverability.

The Travel Frog is even more despondent now, saying the only way they can get out is with Food Luck. The others think Komatsu can do it, Coco discovering there’s a way to pilot Octomelon from the inside. We get a detailed diagram of the sheer size and space inside Octomelon, including the pilot room, where we end up. The others offer to help as best they can, Zebra’s echolocation showing a massive maze with traps and dangers everywhere.

At the first fork, the group is divided on which direction to go, but they manage to get through a majority of it without a hitch, since Octomelon can shoot something to distract the rare danger they run into. Mappy feels like they can make it.

The chapter ends on Joa in another area of Gourmet World, referencing Food Luck and Acacia, supporting the theory that this may be a “zombie” Frohze who retains some memories from her past life.

Bleach 581

We start with Oomaeda holding off some Quincy Soldat, Bazz B impressed at this.

Suddenly, the Soldat are defeated by Momo’s Tobiume, Shinji alongside her, saying he’ll help them. Momo is ordered to heal Soifon, having done well to heal Shinji after Bambietta attacked him.

He tells Oomaeda that things are serious: if Zaraki dies, then the battle will likely shift in the Vandenreich’s favor. Bazz B, having heard this, says he’ll just have to stop them from supporting Zaraki. He attacks the ice area, creating something like lava.

We shift to Rukia and Byakuya moving toward Zaraki’s position, Rukia suddenly feeling a strong reiatsu. We see someone flying down at Seireitei, Ikkau recovering, Renji noticing as well.

It looks like Ichigo crashes some distance away, but it turns out it was a test attack, appearing much closer behind the four Stern Ritter. He speaks to Kenpachi, saying he’ll save him as the chapter ends.

Fairy Tail 385

We see some of the Nine Demon Gates: Kyouka (without her mask), Silver and Tempesta (it works better, though we’d need an official rendering from Mashima in English), all recognizing the sheer power the Celestial Spirit King emanates.

Marde is impressed someone could summon the Spirit King, the Spirit King inquiring what Marde plans to do. Marde repeats the basic plan: summon END and return to Zeref.

Lucy is still alive, amazingly, crying, which enrages the Spirit King, vowing to avenge her and defeat the enemy before him in her name.

He towers over Marde, but the Demon King manages to attack first with his mobility. The Spirit King counterattacks, but Marde unleashes his own Curse power, Thorn, spiked spires stabbing into him, supposedly infinite. But the Spirit King slashes them away and attacks with the Meteor Blade, creating a huge chasm.

Jackal is amazed at the power, noticing Lucy. He attacks, but a shield of water protects her. The Spirit King reveals he’s given her Aquarius’ power, Lucy feeling great magic flowing in her. She has a new appearance, tattoos on her body representing the new power.

The explosive Etherias attacks again, but Lucy blocks the bombs, chanting the incantations for a powerful spell, Urano Metria, which Lucy has only used twice before: once with help from Hibiki of Blue Pegasus and a second time with Gemini’s help. Now she’s able to utilize it with Aquarius’ magic power. The chapter ends on the sheer power shown in a two page splash.

Seven Deadly Sins 76

Meliodas and Hendricksen square off, Meliodas demanding Elizabeth, Hendricksen refusing as Meliodas rushes to attack, using his arm as a jump off point to strike from above. Hendricksen easily dodges, knocking Meliodas back, who’s relatively undamaged as well.

Elizabeth is still stunned that Margaret, her sister, is alive, the two of them still coping in their own ways with Veronica’s death, though Margaret only heard about it compared to Elizabeth actually being there. The younger sister speaks about them breaking out of the dungeon, but the Holy Knight from before appears, wondering how the princess got out of her cell. Elizabeth is aghast at the kingdom imprisoning her sister, but the knight responds that Margaret asked to be put in the dungeon. Before the Holy Knight can take her away, they’re suddenly knocked back by Hawk, who vows to protect Elizabeth.

But the Holy Knight, enraged by Hawk being a pig for some reason, uses their power to teleport him to an unknown location, only a single spire visible in the darkness.

Elizabeth has been knocked unconscious, Margaret worried about her. The Holy Knight opens her cell, saying she’s free, as long as she has the courage to escape.

Hendricksen and the Holy Knight communicate through magic, confirming that Elizabeth has to be moved to a safer location, presumably a special place unique to the Holy Knight’s powers. The Holy Knight says that if Hendricksen is in a battle he should use “that” technique, but he says it’s not the right time.

Suddenly, Gilthunder appears from the sky, dark clouds allowing him to travel by lightning, and attacks Meliodas, who’s barely able to defend, since he regards Gil as a friend, plus the Tempest power’s speed.

Arthur thanks Meliodas, the two teaming up against Gilthunder and Hendricksen as the chapter ends.

Magi 224

Sheba continues to ask Solomon to date her, but he continues to reject her. Ugo’s confused, but Arba reminds him that Solomon left his father at the same age Sheba did, 12, so he might be trying to be a good father figure to her instead of a romantic partner.

Arba even acknowledges that Solomon might have to change his mind, since Sheba is the 3rd strongest magician in the group (meaning Arba, Sheba and Ugo are the three Magi of Solomon, most likely)

Sheba is visiting an isolation barrier area and feels hostility, communicating this back to Solomon. The limited numbers of staves have made the group separate the species as best they can, but there seem to be an unlimited number of species, so the difficulty is elsewhere. Some magicians in their group are stimulating conflict amongst the species in order to get rewards afterwards from the victors.

A conflict between the berserkers and centaurs is stopped by Solomon, the magicians expelled as punishment. They accuse Solomon of doing the same thing they are on a grander scale, abusing the species for his own gain. They even associate him with the mind breaking Gunud magic and make the other species think he’s trying to become the sole ruler of the world. Distrust is sown by suggesting that Solomon is far more than 22 years old, since he’s a great magician.

The general idea is that Solomon could become just like his father, a despotic tyrant who rules by power. Sheba breaks this up by demanding the berserkers kill Solomon. But they cannot, Sheba saying they have a weak will and have no proof of Solomon being cruel. She says that most of this conflict is based in fear and ignorance, not understanding each other. Solomon’s ideals have changed her for the better and she believes in him, not afraid of species that are stronger than her, but wanting to live as equals. She vows that if anyone forgets what Solomon has done, they should only look at her, changed from an Orthodox devotee to his loyal friend.

The chapter ends as Sheba encourages Solomon, who starts to recognize her as an equal, Arba looking on, happy that things seem to be going well.

World Trigger 59

Izumi asks his Operator, Yu, to send information to him, Yosuke and Shun; specifically about Azuma squad’s fight against Rambanein, the Neighbor with the powerful Gunner type Trigger. They contact the head of Azuma squad, who confirms that Rambanein’s power is far beyond theirs, so they have to keep moving if they want to stay in the fight.

Izumi thinks they could have a chance with two Attackers, but Arafune from another squad notes that he has a shield that stops the Egret Trigger’s power. Yu sends Izumi info about the surrounding area so the trio can strategize. The plan is to have a pincer attack and get him from behind.

Izumi distracts him, Yosuke and Shun following suit with new support Triggers or the specialized nature of their Attacker Trigger, which Rambanein realizes are just decoy attacks, nearly taking out Shun.  Rambanenin then figures out the composition of their squad, firing at where he thinks Izumi is, the attack missing since Izumi’s utilizing Meteor and Viper to create a combination Shooter Trigger called Tomahawk.

Rambanenin notes their skill, jumping into the air and firing in a spread pattern across the area to draw them out. He finds Shun, targeting him: but Midorikawa creates a smokescreen and the chapter ends on him managing to cut off half of one of Rambanein’s legs, saying he’s gotten too cocky.

Naruto 676

Madara appears from Kamui, Obito in tow as he reveals he’s gotten both Rinnegan, Black Zetsu having regained control of Obito’s body.

Sakura gains a new resolve as she’s with her two teammates, rushing to attack Madara as a distraction for Sasuke and Naruto. Madara stabs her through the chest with his staff. But Sakura still moves to strike, Madara recognizing the Hyakugou no Jutsu that Tsunade used.

Sakura’s attack hits an invisible wall, Sasuke revealing that Madara now has 4 other Limbo Shadow selves. Naruto and Sasuke attack, pulling Sakura back.

Madara starts his attack, utilizing an even greater Jibaku Tensei to create multiple meteor sized boulders and dropping them on the group. Naruto utilizes Kage Bunshin to make 4 clones to fight off Madara’s Limbo Shadows.  Sasuke and Naruto then utilize Susanoo and Bijuudama RasenShuriken respectively, destroying many of the boulders

Madara’s original body rips off his bony headband and speaks of a prophecy on the tablets passed down through the Uchiha family that when the one with the power of rebirth looks at the moon, the third eye that will unleash the power of the infinite dream will appear. Madara’s forehead reveals a third eye, not unlike Kaguya’s from the past as the chapter ends on him summoning the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

One Piece 747

Pica’s moving of the palace, Smile factory and the flower fields has connected the underground areas with the surface, revealing the people that were enslaved to those previously unaware.

Maynard, a Marine soldier who was infiltrating the tournament, explains the situation to Bastille, while Koala is discovering the secrets of many countries who tried to pass themselves off as pirates to use the weapons made by Doflamingo’s slaves.

A Vice Admiral tells Isshou that they should capture Doflamingo, but he thinks otherwise, saying that doing that would just create a new cycle of violence. Isshou says the World Government can’t solve all the world’s problems, so they have to focus on protecting the citizens.

Back at the Palace, Doflamingo says that protecting the factory isn’t a concern, since it’s protected by Seastone. Doflamingo destroys the keys, saying there’s no chance they can stop them now. Trebol and Diamante apologize, Doflamingo saying it’s pointless to blame them for stuff that he can’t change anymore. He explains that he’s arranged that the Marines won’t attack him, but he sees Fujitora as a threat, so he may eliminate him if he’s no longer useful.

Pica says he could take everyone out if Doflamingo let him go all out (people shocked as his high pitched voice, since he’s so intimidating looking), but Doflamingo stops him, explaining that the game is deciding the king. If the others win, Riku will become king, but if Doflamingo wins, he’ll remain ruler.

A soldier laughs at Pica’s voice and is killed by Baby 5, Doflamingo explaining that he lost his mother at 8 and killed his father when he was 10, so he regards his crew as his family, and won’t forgive anyone who mocks them.

Franky, even after being beat up by Senor Pink and Machvise, had a reserve of cola so he could destroy the factory, sneaking away to find it.  He comes upon the building, preparing to fire his beam.

Luffy falls near Machvise and Senor Pink, using Gum Gum Balloon to soften his fall and running away after they realize everyone’s targeting them for the bounties Doflamingo put on their head.

Senor Pink catches Luffy’s leg and Machvise, using his” Super Weight” based Devil Fruit, slams on Luffy’s leg, but Zoro makes Derringer attack Machvise, releasing Luffy. They’re about to attack the people who’re shooting at them, but Isshou appears, suggesting that he’ll fight Luffy, Law and Zoro (Law still in his Seastone Cuffs)

Robin figures out that Pica’s connected the Colosseum to the Royal Palace Plateau, so they can meet up there by using the new paths created

The city, meanwhile, is getting destroyed as Pica becomes a stone giant, his voice as he says he’ll deal with the enemies making Luffy laugh as the chapter ends on Pica enraged at the Straw Hat captain.

Toriko 277

The frog starts to speak in English, realizing he was speaking Frog-ese before, but slips into it again as he introduces himself.

His name is Mappy, a Travel Frog and we even get the name of his car, Careru (a pun on Kaeru, which can mean return home). Mappy was sent on the orders of the Daruma Hermit. Zebra remembers him (he was misnamed the Dharma Hermit a while back) and wonders what he wants. He borrowed his horse and has one of his ingredients in his Full Course, the, Daruma Hermit’s Tribute. Buranchi is also from the same village Mappy and the Daruma Hermit live in, so they wonder if they’ll meet him.

The group leaves with Mappy guiding them, though Careru is speeding ahead, the group rushing to keep up.

Mappy explains that Yutou Island is like a maze even when the mist clears. And Gourmet World’s Night hasn’t come up at the moment, so Toriko and the others were in luck. Mappy, who was explained to be an ingredient himself (along with Careru, oddly enough), is even stronger, Toriko’s strength sufficient according to Mappy, but not at the level of taking a coffee break on the Thorned Sea.

Night in Gourmet World is when the Eight Kings become active, the 8 strongest beasts in Gourmet World

The group suddenly has a reaction similar to when they were near an ingredient on Acacia’s Full Course. Mappy explains that it’s because they’re in the presence of the footprint of one of the Eight Beasts, Horse King Herakles. Even his mere footprint gives off such a presence that it’s overwhelming the others.

The sheer power can create places where many different beasts can gather and live, Komatsu considering it like a Gourmet National Heritage Site.  Even in Gourmet World, however, there are safe highways, the rare places where creatures have travelled so often since ancient times that they’re far more protected than most of Gourmet World.

Toriko notes that he and Komatsu were lucky to find safe spots and might’ve stumbled across one of those Gourmet Highways. Mappy then explains that they’d have to have a lot of Food Luck. He also says that the highways connect to 7 civilizations that used to exist, one of them still around: the Bewitching Food World.

The group comes across the Gold Swamp, a place that’s the major path to access the main island of Area 8, where Bewitching Food World is.  As they enter, they feel a sense of calm, but Mappy sees the appearance of Steel Clouds, saying they have to dive into the Gold Swamp or they’ll surely die, the chapter ending on that threat.

Bleach 580

We start where we left off, some of Kenpachi’s subordinates zapped to ashes by the lightning bolt from before. We see that Candice was the source, her Schrift, T, representing Thunderbolt. Giselle says her power’s still weak, since she didn’t kill everyone at once, Candice attacking again. But before she can release it, Kenpachi attacks from behind, the lightning directed at him instead.

Before Kenpachi can hit the ground, Meninas attacks him with a powerful punch, sending him crashing to the ground. Candice is amazed he still has as much energy as he does after fighting Gremmy. Liltotto explains to the enraged 11th division soldiers that their plan was to attack Kenpachi in a second wave after he was weakened. She then uses her power, the Glutton, to bite off the heads of the soldiers in front of her.

Kenpachi stands up again, Candice firing another blast at him in frustration. Meninas throws a huge portion of a building at a group of soldiers, crushing them, her ability, the Power, shown off even more than before.

Giselle is surrounded by soldiers, saying they should fight for their captain, not against her, but they attack anyway, one of them covered in her blood. Her power, Zombie, not only makes her seemingly unkillable by normal attacks, but when you’re exposed to her blood, you become her slave. She makes everyone in the area, exposed to her blood splashing around, commit seppuku.

Kenpachi is unable to move, beaten to within an inch of his life and the 4 Stern Ritter try to decide who gets to kill him. But the chapter ends as a huge blast of light appears behind them, shaped like the Substitute Shinigami Badge.

Fairy Tail 384

Lucy is near unconscious, thanking Aquarius for appearing, who is somewhat annoyed, though potentially concerned as well. She readies her attack, telling Lucy to get back as Lucy tells Jackal Aquarius is her strongest Stellar Spirit.

Jackal’s blown away, Loke and Virgo telling her to close one of the gates. But Torafusa swims through the water with ease, revealing it’s his favored environment. He slashes Aquarius, Loke and Virgo going to help her. But Jackal’s still able to fight, attacking them from behind and destroying them both in one attack.

Lucy’s unable to move, Lamy, Torafusa and Jackal all ready to finish her off. Jackal proposes to toy with her, Torafusa disagreeing and leaving them to their own devices. Lamy agrees with Jackal’s methods, joining in. But Jackal decides to blow Lamy up instead. As he’s about to attack Lucy, Aquarius pushes him back, protecting Lucy.

Aquarius says none of the basic Zodiac spirits can defeat Jackal. But since Lucy can summon 3 spirits at a time, she can manage to summon the Stellar Spirit King. But in order to do so, she must sacrifice one of her Golden Keys. And it has to be one with a special bond between the mage and spirit, so Aquarius says she must go.

The two debate this, Aquarius saying there’s no other way, but Lucy not wanting to sacrifice any of her friends to save everyone else.  Aquarius explains she was Lucy’s mother, Layla’s spirit and was passed onto Lucy. She didn’t like Lucy compared to Layla, but she stuck it out because she respected her mother and grew to tolerate Lucy.

Aquarius insists that there’s nothing more important now than saving the people you care about and making this sacrifice will accomplish that.  Lucy finally gains the resolve, Aquarius saying she’ll be sad to never see Lucy again, remembering all the time they spent together.

The Stellar Spirit King is summoned and with a single attack, slashes the Cube into pieces. As it collapses to the ground, Marde Guile and the Spirit King stand against each other as the chapter ends.
