Disclaimer: Scanlations and official sources both have a place in the community, but buy official manga volumes to support the author. If you can, also subscribe to Crunchyroll and/or Shonen Jump through Viz Media to read chapters nearly simultaneous with Japan. Most, if not all, of the series covered can be found through legal means, so please encourage the industry that gives us what we love

Tokyo Demon Bride Story ended right at the beginning of April, unfortunately; had potential to keep going, but there will be likely more cancellations coming up with 2 series in April and 2 in May as well

Ginka and Gluna ended the week after Tokyo Demon Bride Story, the ending feeling a bit better, but still rushed unfortunately

And Ichigoki’s Under Control wrapped up as well, indicating the upcoming series that we’ll be seeing likely in early May, probably only one more series ending sometime in May after the Golden Week break

2 new series debut this month, Tenmaku Cinema by Shun Saeki and Yuto Tsukuda, best known for Food Wars. Hajime, a film fanatic, is possessed by Tenmaku, a ghost who claims to have worked with a famous director, who unfortunately died many years ago. But an up and coming student actress goes to his school and Tenmaku possess Hajime to ask her to play the lead role, which she accepts after reading the script

Kill Blue by Tadatoshi Fujimaki, better known for Kuroko’s Basketball, but did Robot x Laserbeam a few years ago, features a middle aged assassin who is affected by a genetic experiment via wasp that reverts him to a middle schooler. He must infiltrate a school for the boss’ daughter, finding he actually enjoys the experience, never actually going past elementary school himself. After stopping an attacker, some of his classmates he saved are grateful and Ogami decides to stick it out, even if he still doesn’t feel like he fits in

World Trigger 232

Chika’s disadvantages are emphasized, since her units consume more action points per action, Osamu’s group creating a strategy that exploits that vulnerability. And this poses a challenge for Ninomiya’s team as a whole to overcome

Fabricant 100 16-18

Ashibi says he wants to be able to actually fight, taken to the core of Fabricant No. 99, which was preserved and activates the latent abilities of any human that touches it. And in Ashibi’s case, it’s enhanced regeneration, restoring a digit cut off quickly (not regrowing so much as reattaching). Hugo has him start training with Ayako and Minmin, the latter a new recruit like him

We learn that Ashibi had a major risk involved with the core, since awakening a Spark is only a 1/20 chance for a person. And his training with Ayako involves trying to find a strategy. Minmin is overwhelmed as we learn Ayako’s Spark is Oculus Prison, able to focus her eyesight to see an opponent’s vulnerable spots, Ashibi next up

Ashibi learns he still needs physical training, just having the regeneration Spark insufficient for combat. He has inspiration while tag teaming with Minmin, getting slashed and using his blood as a screen to obscure Ayako’s vision, allowing Minmin to knock her sword away, moving onto the next stage of training

Ashibi passes, though Minmin is relegated to training more, Ayako saying that Ashibi’s methods are self centered. He realizes that by remembering how he felt when his sister endangered herself to save others, thinking it’s okay because he has no one that cares about him like his family. Meanwhile we see No. 1 of the Fabricants travelling, apparently seeking out the Yao family flesh for experiments

Tokyo Demon Bride Story 29 (END)

Tanukiyo and Kaido arrive on the scene and defeat the monster, Jinta realizing how important Manaka is to him, appreciating her that much more as things conclude with more potential adventures, as well as a brief meeting of Keroru’s cousins

4 Knights of the Apocalypse 101-102

Lancelot and Gawain learn of Jade’s death, Chion still blaming anyone else and trying to act like it’s better when learning that they have potential info from Ioladio, whose allies were freed by Lancelot and Gawain before. But Teananich, pressured to open the gate, is seemingly killed, bugs exploding from her eyes, nose and mouth, punished by Arthur

Arthur is told about what will happen to the next group of assassins he sends to take out the Apocalypse Knights by Guinivere and he insists that Ironside send his brother in law, Mortlach. Io approaches the group, saying she can help them get to Camelot through the Demon Realm and seems to recognize Percival

My Hero Academia 384-386

The combined efforts of Shinsou, Mt. Lady and Tokoyami all bear down on All For One as Gigantomachia appears to resist and break free from the Brainwash Quirk, even his power turned on All For One due to feeling betrayed. Meanwhile, reporters are speaking about how important this is to get out to the people, unifying the world, Deku clashing with Shigaraki again

The efforts to stop All For One start to falter, his youth making his power much stronger than before. A section of the UA evac system is being affected by a mole and an explosion causes debris to fall, Death Arms, a retired Hero, rushing in to save civilians. And other events are moving forward, Stain a prominent part

Tsukauchi learns that Dabi plans to detonate himself, a range of over 3 miles for the explosion and the stalled evac system section within range has the other Todoroki family members aside from Endeavor, Shoto and Dabi. Iida and Shoto are tasked with stopping Dabi, while All Might seems to utilize some kind of enhancement suit as he stands off against All For One to draw his attention, likely intending to sacrifice himself

One Piece 1080-1081

Koby escapes from the Blackbeard Pirates and we see their various Devil Fruits. Him being part of SWORD means he’s more a free agent, but the hero legend surrounding Koby still makes him useful to Blackbeard’s plan to create a new country. But Marine reinforcements arrive, including Garp, who sees Koby as his protégé and unleashes a powerful attack

We see a flashback of how Aokiji was convinced to join the Blackbeard Pirates and in the present, he freezes Hibari of SWORD, clashing with Garp in spite of their past friendly relationship. Meanwhile, Blackbeard has defeated Law’s crew, even when Bepo uses a Rumble Ball Chopper gave him to go into Sulong form

Black Clover 356-358

Yuno uses the combination of his Wind and Star Magic along with Sylph’s powers to create a Mana Zone that empowers his allies and weakens enemies, even countering Julius’ Time Magic

We shift to Jack, who’s barely hanging onto life and unleashes one final slash that cuts a massive chasm, but misses Morgen as Yami plans to face his old friend, while we see Mereoelona fighting and seemingly injured

Against Morris’s magic that breaks down anything the tentacles touch and regenerates those tentacles, Mereoleona is barely able to fight back, reforming her damaged body with flames. The Crimson Lion King members sacrifice themselves, fueling Mereoleona’s flames in the process as she unleashes an attack seemingly intended to end her life and Morris’
