Magi’s been delayed again, though we’ll catch up next week most likely

Black Clover 95

Fana finds that she can’t cast, her magic basically depleted, unable to help Mars after Ladros’ attack.

Asta rushes at Ladros, who recognizes him as the anti magic Magic Knight

He sympathizes with Asta, being mocked for having no magic, since Ladros had no attribute to his magic, similarly an outcast. Ladros offers Asta the chance to team up with him, saying that they could take over the Diamond Kingdom, though he actually plans to take the anti magic power as well.

Asta immediately rejects the offer, saying he’ll become the Wizard King and change things that way

Ladros blasts his lasers at Asta, but their clash is pointless, even with Asta knocking the attacks back, since long range attacks are Asta’s major weakness, plus Ladros can absorb the attacks sent back at him.

Asta says he won’t give up this fight because Ladros hurt his friends. But Ladros insists there’s no such thing, just people who use and those who are used by them, Mars and Fana just stepping stones to advancing Ladros’ own agenda.

As Ladros mocks Asta, he’s suddenly stabbed by Asta’s magic absorbing sword in the chest, slowly draining his mana, unable to be pulled out because of how heavy it is.

Ladros is in disbelief at Asta’s strength and how reckless he was

The chapter ends as Asta says he didn’t do this on his own, his friends helped him, the people around you not to be exploited, but to support each other.

Boku no Hero Academia 124

Todoroki is hesitating, not only because of Mirio’s strength, but because he doesn’t have a provisional license yet

The remaining students wonder if Mirio’s invincible, but Amajiki notes that just shows how inexperienced they are by comparison, like how an amateur doesn’t understand how a pro is so good when they first see them.

Deku says they need to just observe and find a way to get an attack in from what they’ve seen and what they know of how his Quirk works, Kirishima impressed at how calmly he’s assessing the situation.

Mirio rushes at them, submerging under the floor and appearing behind Deku. Deku instinctively attacks, but Mirio prepares to take him out, potentially stabbing out his eye, more brutal than one would expect.

Deku pushes through that, but Mirio has a counter for that, attacking Deku with a punch behind him, since he’s figured out that people try to defeat his Quirk with such a tactic

Mirio’s strength is such that Amajiki and Hadou think that he still has a problem of not being able to hold back entirely. However, at the end of it, everyone’s defeated with just punches to the gut, still in disbelief at Mirio’s Quirk.

Ashido even wonders if he’s a hybrid like Todoroki, with his Fire and Ice type Quirks a blend of his father and mother’s Quirks. Makes me curious if Tokoyami is similar with his bird traits and Dark Shadow

Mirio explains that his Quirk is simply Permeation and his “teleportation” is just applying the Quirk to his whole body and then launching himself out of the ground by releasing it, the resultant conflict of mass pushing his body upward.

Everyone’s impressed at the application, but Mirio explains that it isn’t without some disadvantages: when he activates his Quirk, the only thing he can feel is the sensation of falling, so he has to be very precise in how he utilizes it, even with something as simple as going through a wall. The skill that he’s honed through experience is prediction, which enables his moves and Quirk activation to be as accurate as it is

This is why he decided to show Class 1-A directly rather than explain it with words. The work studies they’re in are more direct experiences, serving as sidekicks to pro Heroes and that practice is what made him as strong as he is now.

Deku’s impressed that someone who had a similar situation to him with his Quirk put in so much work and improved himself as much from a seemingly bad starting point

The other students are thinking they might want to do internships for the very reason that they can become better Heroes overall with such direct experience.

Deku even calls Gran Torino, who initially denies his request, but Deku says that he’s willing to put in the work to be a successor to One For All. Gran Torino suggests that Deku ask All Might to recommend him to his former sidekick.

The chapter ends as we learn that Overhaul, through Twice’s recommendation, is allowed to approach Shigaraki to join the League of Villains

Seven Deadly Sins 203

People are talking about how powerful the Demon Clan’s army is, though Stigma’s numbers are much greater than theirs by comparison.

Rou comments on how he’s figured out Meliodas is a Demon, the former Commandment noting how his fellow Demons think he’s scum for allying with the Goddesses. Rou still thinks he’s a good person and, in spite of Meliodas’ wondering whether good and evil really exist in war, he knows they will be allies

Rueduciel’s (apparently the official spelling from Suzuki sensei) plan shocks Elizabeth especially since he said he’d eliminate all Demons in front of Meliodas, a part of said clan.

But the Archangel says that he views the Demons as lower than insects, something that should be eradicated entirely. And he thinks Elizabeth shouldn’t be associated with the successor to the Demon King. Elizabeth leaves, Nerobasta told not to follow her, since the plan is the first priority and she is seen as no real threat to its success.

We shift to Dolor training the other Giants, the strength gap massive. King is concerned about Rueduciel’s strength and has observed something similar deeper in the forest, though he’s not sure what it is. He’s also not sure how they’ll finish the trial.

Gerharde approaches him, revealing to King that she’s Gloxinia’s younger sister, the relationship not unlike King and Elaine. And this explains how Gerharde knows the first Fairy King and has served for so long.

King asks Gerharde about the magic he’s felt, his sister explaining that it’s a barrier that Rueduciel put up, though it’s actually just bait to draw in the Demon clan, likely composed of corpses from various races.

The chapter ends as the Ten Commandments themselves appear to bring an end to this war.''

One Piece 853

Big Mom, having defeated Brook, explains that Prometheus, Zeus, and Napoleon, the thunderhead cloud, the sun and the bicorne hat on her head, are unaffected by his powers with the Yomi Yomi Fruit, because they’ve been given her soul directly rather than pieces of others like the Homies.

The Chess Soldiers report that Brook didn’t steal anything, Big Mom happy since she doesn’t want anyone to figure out how to get to Raftel like Gol D. Roger did. She thinks she has someone that can develop a similar power to his in her family so she will find the One Piece eventually

Turns out it’s Pudding, her third eye an indication that she has heritage from the Three Eyes Tribe, but she’s only a half breed, so she hasn’t attained complete awakening of the power.

Pudding tells Big Mom she needs to explain something, but she wants to do it in her room, since it’s embarrassing to say in public.

Meanwhile, Pedro’s fight with Baron Tamago progresses, the Long Leg Tribe member having changed. But Pedro defeats him again, the subordinates explaining that his Egg Egg fruit allows him to come back stronger as a new form each time, from Baron Egg to Viscount Chick and then to Duke Chicken. Pedro wants to kill him off now, Tamago’s lackies trying to stop him.

Pedro then reveals he has bombs, setting them off to take them all out, even Tamago defeated for now.

But Pedro is safe, having leaped into a mirror with Chopper and Carrot’s help. They plan to get Sanji to safety with this strategy as well. Pedro explains that Luffy and Nami were captured, though the mirrors reveal that Nami is with Jinbe.

Luffy is pulled away from the soldiers to a room by Reiju, who explains that Sanji is aware of Pudding’s betrayal, but is still concerned about his crew and the Baratie being held hostage by Germa 66’s threats.

But Luffy says that he trusts Sanji, leaping out a window.

The chapter ends as Sanji thinks that he has to go through with whatever plan he has, while Luffy is trying to get back to the place where he was waiting for Sanji

Fairy Tail 518

Erza and Eileen square off, the Scarlet Mage saying that she won’t lose in spite of her setbacks, since she’s lived for 400 years.

Her attacks are dodged by Erza, Eileen saying that Erza is useless to her and shouldn’t interfere.

But Erza says that in spite of empathizing with her mother, she cannot lose here. She’s suffered as well and she persisted because of her friends.

Eileen is infuriated by this, transforming into her dragon form and smashing Erza away, crippling the Sword Mage with one blow.

She explains that she’s the Sage Dragon and can further enhance her enchantments to the level of manipulating heavenly bodies themselves.

Her finishing move is Deus Sema, God’s Collapsing Constellation, sending a giant meteorite at Erza, which will also cause massive damage to all of Ishgar.

Erza, able to still move her right hand, pushes herself up and prepares to attack the meteor before it hits.

Eileen thinks she’s insane, but Erza notes that if Eileen is the Queen of the Dragons, then Erza, with her moniker of Titania, is the Queen of the Fairies.

A queen is someone who is loved by and protects those close to her, so Erza, asking for aid from her friends, including Makarov, readies her attack as the chapter ends on Eileen being dumbfounded at how reckless her daughter is.

One Piece is off this week

Black Clover 94

Mars thanks Asta for helping him, though Asta says he had Mars’ help as well.

Fana wonders if this is Mars’ friend, Asta confirming it in spite of Mars’ reluctance and their previous fight.

Asta is chastised again by Noelle, Finral and Vanessa for being so reckless.

Fanzel praises Mars and Fana greets her old master, who is so happy both his students are alive and together.

Fana notes that she doesn’t’ remember much. After the trial with Mars, she came back to life, but was eventually abandoned by Morris because she didn’t meet his expectations of increasing her magic power. She was then taken in by Licht, who apparently used forbidden magic on her, which affected her memories, Fana commenting that it was like she was taken over by someone else’s hatred.

Mars is so happy that they’re together, Fana also vowing that they’ll stay by each others’ side, Finral so jealous he’s crying blood and Noelle slapping Asta out of jealousy for that close relationship.

In response to the question of why she came here, Fana says she remembers she was here to get a Magic Stone.

The group moves to head back to the Witch Queen and ask about this, though Fanzel is still worried about Domina and Mariele.

But something unexpected occurs, Ladros still alive after absorbing Fana’s Salamander Magic and unleashing a barrage of lasers again. It took him longer than usual to recover, but he managed to trick Fanzel into thinking he was out of magic power by releasing it at the moment he was seemingly defeated.

Mars has shielded Fana from the initial assault, Ladros shooting a beam at him to finish the Flame Stone Mage off, which Asta knocks away.

Ladros asks why Asta would even help someone who he has nothing to do with, the chapter ending as Asta says that Mars is his friend and that’s all that matters.

Boku no Hero Academia 123

Everyone’s impressed at the Big Three, Deku remembering the one from before as someone who didn’t perform very well in last year’s Sports Festival

Aizawa asks them to do self introductions, starting with Amajiki, who seems intimidating, but also has significant stage fright, unable to talk effectively.

Hadou, the lone girl in the trio, explains that he’s naturally a bit cowardly. She shows how socially intrusive she is, asking questions to Shouji and Todoroki regarding their faces.  The others observe that she’s naturally curious about all of them, such as whether Asui’s a tree frog or a toad and if Ojiro can support his whole body with the tail that’s his Quirk.

The third student, Mirio, tries to change the mood, but falls flat as well, his introduction involving the students responding to something that only he had the plan for in his head.

He then explains that since the first years have their provisional licenses, he thinks they should have a match against him as a team, for a more direct experience. Aizawa accepts, the group moving to the Gamma Gym.

Amajiki says that Mirio’s being too unorthodox with his teaching, while Hadou continues to be intrusive, commenting on how Mirio almost gave up on being a Hero and had some issues in his past

Kirishima wonders if they’re just taking the first years too lightly in spite of their more practical experience, Mirio saying they should just come at him however they want.

Deku insists on being first, wanting to close the gap from the last 3 days and seeing how big of a chasm of power there is between him and the top of Yuuei’s class.

Mirio’s Quirk, which seems to involve phasing through things, activates and his shirt falls off, the #1 at Yuuei still not able to fine tune the power yet.

But as everyone else attacks, he still manages to defeat them, few left as in the space of 5 and a half seconds, he beat most of the class, Amajiki saying that his real strong point is his training under a certain Hero, not the Quirk itself. The chapter ends as we’re shown that he isn’t someone to be trifled with.

Seven Deadly Sins 202

We see Helbram trying to wake Diane and King, but Gloxinia says they won’t wake up until their trial is complete, also explaining that he can see the spirit because he was also the Fairy King.

Meanwhile, in the trial, Meliodas, Dolor and Gloxinia all combine their efforts to take down Karmadios, though Meliodas thinks they’re just retreating for now.

Gloxinia/King is worried about the other demons nearby, but Elizabeth has convinced them to leave by talking to them about how they don’t want this war to continue.

They’re approached by a human, who thanks them as members of Stigma, an alliance between the Fairies, Giants and Goddesses.

Elizabeth heals the wounded and tells the others they need to go back to base, the humans going as well.

King and Diane wonder if the trial is over with that battle, though with them still being here, the trial must still be ongoing. They think about what Gloxinia noted, that the trial was determining whether their choice was right or not, likely referring to their betrayal of Meliodas.

Everyone arrives at the base, which is located in the Fairy King’s Forest.

They’re approached by Nerobasta, the Goddess that possessed Denzel in the present, but someone even more powerful arrives, one of the four Archangels, Ryudoshel.

He tells them that the end to the war is in sight, Elizabeth thinking it must mean they can reach a peace with the Demons.

But Ryudoshel’s expression becomes monstrous as he says that they intend to eradicate the entire Demon Clan instead.

Magi 334

We begin with Nerva Julius Caluades (his full name) saying that he is an ally to Alibaba’s group, since he believes Reim should be the ones to dominate the world. Alibaba remembers that Nerva was, along with Hakuryuu and Takeruhiko, one of the major wanted criminals.

It’s also noted that Judal was allied with Nerva in the time that Alibaba was recovering with Yunan, so it’s more that Nerva was tricked by Judal and is angry about that.

Judal was unable to find any other Metal Vessel users, so Nerva was the next best thing. But when Nerva intended to return to Reim and try to raise an army, Judal left him in the dust to try and help Kou become a strong business with Alibaba.

This ultimately caused Nerva to be conscripted into slavery and curse destiny, making him fall into depravity like the others who have the Black Rukh.

In spite of Nerva not being strong enough to do Djinn Equip, unlike the other Reim Metal Vessel user, Aladdin says he can still aid them in keeping the gate stable.

Aladdin utilizes Solomon’s Wisdom, opening the gate as he says they could still turn back. Judal notes that he still doesn’t full agree with them, but Aladdin is fine with that, since they can’t expect everyone’s thinking to be the same, just part of how the world works.

Everyone resolves to change the world to a better place, using Djinn Equip as the chapter ends on them entering the gate into the world of the Rukh.

Fairy Tail 517

Eileen is still appraising her new body, Erza asking where Wendy went. Eileen’s old body crumples to the ground, the Scarlet Mage explaining that Wendy has basically disappeared

Erza tries to attack, but Wendy’s body still has sufficient power that Eileen is impressed with the potential she has, preparing to eliminate her daughter completely.

In spite of Erza telling Wendy to fight Eileen, the Dragon Slayer says that the young girl’s ego is completely gone and she is Wendy now.

Erza tries to attack, but holds back as Eileen comments that Erza couldn’t be expected to attack a friend.

Eileen attacks, planning to destroy Erza, but the explosion’s damage is reduced.

It’s revealed that Wendy managed to enchant herself onto Eileen’s body and enhanced Erza’s resistance to damage.

Wendy, having gained some skill with Eileen’s body and its magic, blasts her body, even attempting to pull Eileen’s soul out of her body.

Eileen slashes the Wind Dragon Slayer’s body, saying she won’t let things end without damaging her host’s body in the process, but Wendy says such scars are badges of honor to her.

Wendy, having returned to her body, faints, leaving things to Erza.

The chapter ends as Eileen has a deep expression of rage, ready to finish them both off for driving her to this state.
