Just when we thought things would be back to normal, Magi’s on break this week

Seven Deadly Sins 66

We start with a full color page, revealing that Gilthunder has pink hair (interestingly enough). Another color page that’s an advertisement shows that Gowther has pink-purple (magenta?) hair.

Dreyfus walks up to Diane and asks what her goal is, the giantess responding that they want Elizabeth back. Dreyfus is confused, Helbram realizing that they are after the princess, but not sure how they got here. Hauser is shocked, thinking Diane should run away. Gilthunder takes the offensive, saying Diane is dense to not realize the dangerous situation she’s in. Jericho volunteers to take her out, saying it’s not worth a Holy Knight or Great Holy Knight’s effort.

But Diane counterattacks with Gideon, causing a huge explosion that takes out a part of the mountain the castle’s on. Jericho is saved by Gilthunder, who reminds her that with a Sacred Treasure, the Seven Deadly Sins are much more powerful. He says someone of her level is too weak to fight a Sin with their Sacred Treasure.

King, meanwhile, is worried, trying to get in through Oslo’s mouth as well.

Helbram isn’t sure how they’ll get Diane, since she’s in a relatively solid defensive position. Dreyfus orders Gilthunder and Hauser to attack, Gilthunder using a powerful attack, Purge of the Thunder Emperor, which is even affecting Oslo as it shocks Diane

We get the actual name of Gilthunder’s power, Thunder Bolt. Hauser is hesitating, Dreyfus curious why, giving him a threatening look and asking if there’s some reason he won’t attack this criminal.  Hauser steels himself and attacks, combining his Tempest power with Gilthunder, making a huge black tornado swirling with electricity.

Helbram contributes, using his Link power to utilize another Knight’s Ice power to throw that into the storm. It looks like Diane’s getting beaten, but she counterattacks with her Creation power, making a giant sword of earth shoot out of the ground, Ground Gladius.

Meliodas, Ban and Gowther notice this, Gowther volunteering to go to where Diane is and help her, while the other two prioritize saving Elizabeth.

Diane lands on the ground, the storm dissipated for now. Dreyfus compliments her for not retreating, but also says they’ll start this holy war by killing her. Diane continues to demand Elizabeth be returned, Dreyfus amused that she’s the friend of what he considers criminals.

Diane uses Ground Gladius again, but Dreyfus stops it cold with his sword, amazing Jericho and Geera. He notes how power results from one’s ideals, but that he focuses purely on destruction and pushing forward, using his power, Break.

The chapter ends as Dreyfus seems to fire what appears to be a laser through her chest, signaling she may be near death.

World Trigger 49

Chika and Izuho notice the commotion and explosions near HQ and Izuho is worried if they’re okay. Chika assures her that since Osamu and Yuma are helping them, they’ll be fine.

The bullies who were picking on Yuma before are complaining about being left behind for evacuation purposes, their leader saying that they can prove themselves if they act smart. One of them brings up the new units, the leader responding that if they come up, they’ll retreat, since he thinks only idiots would risk their lives for no reason.

Some B Rank agents are fighting a Rabit, since it’s blocking their path. The leader tells the other 2 to retreat while he distracts it.

Kazama’s squad has defeated a Rabit as well. They retrieve Suwa, though it seems he’s been condensed into a Trion cube. The one who found it is sent back to HQ to have them analyze it. Tokieda wonders if HQ is alright, Kazama noting that they have Tachikawa and Isami, not to mention Shinoda. And if there’s real danger, they’ll call in Amo.

We see Jin walking to where Amo is, the place unrecognizable. He directs Amo to take his area, since he’ll want to support the others where the stronger soldiers are being sent out, Amo accepting with a bit of disappointment.

Kitora and Osamu see a huge amount of soldiers, Replica not sure why they’re directing them to this side. Kitora is confused about Replica, Osamu quickly explaining his nature.

Replica calculates that there’s a huge amount of Trion invested into this attack, leaving the home country vulnerable. But the method of attack is odd, spreading out their forces this much. Kitora thinks that they’re trying to provoke the Border Agents into attacking, so they can kidnap them to recover the Trion when they’re taken back.

But Replica says that with the Bail Out function, they can avoid most of the losses and the Neighbors should know about that with previous research and scouting. The true nature of the attack is still unknown. Replica says they don’t want to outright destroy the base, since there might be Black Trigger counterattacks, which can turn the tide of battle quickly even if the enemy is on the verge of victory.

Where Chika and Izuho are, we see the C rank trainee bullies from before attacking, even though they were prohibited from doing so, while Chika and Izuho are helping evacuate. The basic Trion soldier they destroy reveals another new form of Rabit, darker in color.

The chapter ends as Kitora and Osamu move toward that location. World Trigger is off next week, so we’ll still be short a series.

Naruto 665

Madara asks White Zetsu about progress: Zetsu saying it has half of the Kyuubi and Obito’s other eye. The others are astonished at Madara’s new appearance. Zetsu starts to leave, confident that with Madara here, the others can’t stop him. But Obito regains control, keeping Zetsu at bay.

Obito says he wants to speak to Madara, the others holding back, since they need to keep the other half of the Nine Tails safe.

Obito asks Madara what he is to him, Madara responding that he is a representative of his plan, a second Madara, not unlike Black Zetsu.  Obito served as a leader for his goals until Madara came back.

Madara then explains the goals of the Sage of the Six Paths, using chakra as a way for everyone to connect to each other. But people instead used it to gain more power, creating ninjutsu. Even the Sage’s mother, Kaguya, used it for battle. The contradiction came about that in seeking peace, people continued to find conflict, more reasons to fight. Madara concludes that people with power always seek more.

To Madara, Obito was another person who saw his ideals, a world without conflict. Obito was initially another person stuck in the system, competing with Kakashi, desiring Rin, wanting to be Hokage, all of that rooted in the power of chakra. He refers to Obito as a savior, in that he was the way for Madara to achieve his plans.

Gaara, Kakashi and Minato all attack Madara, Kakashi teleporting Obito with Kamui, switching Minato with Obito to attack with a Rasengan. Madara effortlessly knocks Minato away, also taking out Gaara and Kakashi in the process.

Obito walks up to Madara, seemingly reaching out his hand, but instead he stabs into Madara’s chest.

He thinks back to talking with Naruto about the path of Hokage, leading for others and taking the path that isn’t easy instead of following and taking the path of least resistance. He explains that he’s no longer Madara’s pawn, he no longer believes in Madara’s plan. Madara simply entrusted his name to someone instead of entrusting the plan to a comrade, which is what Naruto encouraged him to do if he wanted to become Hokage and live up to that ideal.

He prepares to attack Madara with the sage chakra, meaning he’s retained some of it somehow.

The chapter ends as Obito forms the shakujo staff he had when he was the Ten Tails’ Jinchuuriki, prepared to fight Madara.

One Piece 738

Leo and the others are preparing to slip the Tatababasco into Sugar’s grapes. Trebol uses his power to strike at a fly, knocking a hole in the tower. The precision of that impresses Robin and as Leo is going to take the fake grape, she stops him.

We shift to the Smile Factory nearby, where 500 Tontatta are being forced to work, abused by their masters. They’re being deceived, told that their Princess can be cured by the Smile fruits, but that they need to make more, since they can only use a tenth of them. They’re even manipulated by saying that they can’t see her, since they might catch the disease as well.

Robin explains that while Sugar’s being guarded by Trebol, who shot the fly between the eyes, they can’t try the plan.

The Pink Hornet squad is distracting the factory workers, Robin taking the opportunity to pass as one of Trebol’s subordinates. She tells him that there’s a problem and that some people are wounded, directing him to another area.

The Tontatta swarm Sugar, demanding she return their friends back to normal and free their comrades. She plays dumb, the Tontatta almost tricked. But Sugar also wonders who told them all this. She thought they’d wait another year, but someone provoked them. The Tontatta begin to attack, Sugar counterattacking with an unexpected speed and skill, quickly striking at the Tontatta and turning them into toys. She makes a contract for them to obey her to the death, commanding them to attack the remaining Tontatta.

Sugar contacts Trebol, calling him back and revealing the trap. Robin distracts him and he forgets Sugar calling him. The pirates say there’s no trouble, Trebol attacking Robin, who manages to escape somehow.

The chapter ends as Trebol realizes the Straw Hats are after them, using his Stick Stick fruit to grab a ship and throw it at the Executive Tower.

Toriko 267

The group takes the Gourmet Case, observing that it’s really old, since it can’t save data like more recent ones. While the rest of the group leaves, Toriko looks back at the house in the safe zone. The ancient looking Nitro continues to sit there, Komatsu calling Toriko to follow them.

The group meets with the other major chefs, Chiru asking Komatsu where the other captured chefs are. Toriko explains that when he got there, only Midora and Komatsu were there, Komatsu saying the rest were taken elsewhere. Chiru says they plan to rescue them, since they need the help of many chefs to restore Human World back to working order. Not to mention they need lots of ingredients, which is why everyone was gathered to unveil the Full Course of Ichiryuu.

Komatsu opens the chest, revealing the egg of the Billion Bird. It has an immense lifespan and can self fertilize, laying an infinite amount of eggs. Komatsu concludes that if they hatch it, they can feed the entire Human World. He starts to try to incubate it, Sani suggesting another method.

Toriko says that they need to put all the ingredients of Ichiryuu’s Full Course together. The Million Tree makes a support for the nest, the Chameleon’s Tear waters the Million Tree. The nest must be made from Princess Straw Grain, which must be watered with Lord Hail. Now they just have to wait until it hatches, which Coco and Zebra suggest is only a few days. The others go to notify the shops.

Komatsu asks Toriko why no one had heard of the Billion Bird until now, Toriko replying it’s because it tastes awful. The Billion Bird had so many predators, it developed the habit of laying countless eggs. But people never wanted to eat it, even the predators lost interest, so it stopped laying eggs and went extinct: amazing, since its lifespan is supposedly immense.

Komatsu wonders about what Setsuno told him once: that ingredients choose the chefs; and whether the Billion Bird egg chose them. Komatsu tells the egg that they want it to be born.

The next day, the egg hatches, Toriko continuing the Full Course with the Mitarashi Kelp, feeding it to the chick so it grows up quickly. They feed Dry Melolon to the Survival Bug Larva: the next two ingredients, and the Survival Bug metamorphoses, eaten by the Billion Bird. Now the Billion Bird is ready to lay eggs. Toriko surprises it and it starts laying eggs: those eggs hatch immediately and the true purpose of the Full Course is revealed: an infinite supply of Billion Birds.

The chapter ends as Komatsu responds to Sani and Zebra’s skepticism about the bird being tasty, saying he and the other chefs will make the Billion Birds delicious.

Bleach 569

Byakuya’s appearance excites As Nodt, who taunts him about his defeat before. Rukia thinks he did this to draw Byakuya out (which he kind of already hinted at when they first started their fight)

It looks like As Nodt will use his power on Byakuya, but he uses Senbonzakura to slice the eyes. As Nodt initially thinks it was the Bankai, but Byakuya reminds him that the Bankai uses the whole sword.

Byakuya compliments As Nodt for stealing his Bankai, since, much like the other captains, he had to focus on just his Shikai, mastering it to its fullest.

As Nodt is furious, morphing into a new, even more monstrous form.

Byakuya praises Rukia for her new strength that he noticed as he came to their location. He then explains that fear has an origin in unease or panic, but that Rukia has nothing to fear with her strength.

As Nodt moves to kill Byakuya, but he leaves, saying Rukia will finish this. He says if she has no fear, than all that is manifest by As Nodt is his own fear.

Rukia unleashes her Bankai as the chapter ends, a huge cloud of white mist appearing in the final pages.

Fairy Tail 372

The chapter starts with Kyouka in chains, Erza wanting a bit of revenge. She presses Kyouka for the location of Mira and Elfman, Kyouka only knowing where Mira is, directing them to the laboratory above them. Natsu and Lisanna leave Erza with Kyouka.

She asks what the vibrations were about, Kyouka explaining that Face is ready to be activated. But Kyouka notes that Jellal isn’t dead. Erza asks why they want to use Face, Kyouka saying it’s to return to Zeref. She breaks the chains, since they’re meant to seal magic, not the curses they use, and attacks Erza, who blocks the strike and counterattacks.

Erza accuses them of being Zeref’s blind followers, but Kyouka says, like the Lullaby book from an arc early in the series, they are books written by Zeref and they came from those texts. Zeref is like a god to them, since he made them

But Erza thinks they should make the decision for themselves, not simply do it out of a sense of duty to Zeref. She strikes Kyouka with a huge lance, getting an apparent victory.

Meanwhile, Gray and the others are fighting off the soldiers of Tartaros. There’s seemingly no end to them and there’s the difficulty of getting to the castle with the gravity field. From the bottom of the cube, where the group is, Erza bursts out, Kyouka on the end of her attack.

Natsu and Lisanna are found by the guards, Natsu holding them off while Lisanna finds Mira. The guards Natsu defeats are seemingly frozen in time and Zeref appears behind Natsu, having waited for him. The chapter ends as he refers to this cube as the bookshelf of his books, the demons.

WSR 2-10-14

Disclaimer: These aren’t official translations, merely scanlations. Buy localized or original manga to support the author if at all possible. Know the difference between piracy/theft and sharing without personal profit.

One Piece is on break this week, but everything else is still on schedule. Also thinking of ordering the chapters based on their release, meaning SDS is first.

Seven Deadly Sins 65

We start with a map describing the situation and where all the relevant parties are located.

Hendricksen is talking to Arthur, inquiring about what he meant by a “situation that forced him to deny entry to outsiders”, Arthur playing dumb: he insists he just has a good instinct. Arthur refuses to answer Hendricksen’s follow up question of what his goal is in all this.

Suddenly, a noise startles Arthur, Hendricksen suggesting he might be a target for assassination. The woman who kidnapped Elizabeth before appears behind Hendricksen, explaining that she’s gotten the final piece and that he should move to the underground dungeon. Hendricksen replies that they should try to stop the Seven Deadly Sins from getting her back, the Holy Knight disappearing. Arthur inquires about her ability, Hendricksen silencing him quickly by attacking him, the king crashing into a building. Hendricksen is cut slightly by the counterattack: the Great Holy Knight is impressed by his strength.

The two Holy Knights following Hendricksen move to help him, but Arthur’s magician appears behind them.

Meanwhile, Ban, Meliodas and Gowther are slipping by the guards as the Invasion magic affect is wearing off. Meliodas suggests they look in the underground dungeon, even though the cliché for princesses is a tower.

An explosion is seen across the castle town, Meliodas moving towards it, the castle ignored for now, since Elizabeth might be in danger over there.

At Hendricksen’s Magical Research Facility, Dreyfus pushes Helbram for information about the building and what secrets it holds. Helbram simply says there are many magical artifacts, but he’s also concerned, thinking Dreyfus will find the demon underground. He orders Geera and Jericho to fight the Seven Deadly Sins, Geera asking if he’ll tell her the truth about her father afterwards. Helbram agrees, sending them off.

Hauser asks Gilthunder about his relationship with Meliodas, Gil explaining that he taught him some fundamental swordplay. But Hauser then asks him why he’d be fighting someone he respected so much: Gilthunder responds that they’re plotting to overthrow the kingdom and they’re the Holy Knights who protect it. The relationship is simple and the solution is basic.

The building starts to shake, Dreyfus quickly going underground with his power and the group unexpectedly meets up with Diane as the chapter ends.

World Trigger 48

We see the bomber attack from the perspective of Border HQ, cannons taking out one of them, but another one crashing into the wall. Luckily, it was strengthened with extra Trion (after Chika’s incident with the Ibis Sniper), so it didn’t do any damage to the actual building.

Shinoda asks Kinuta how strong the wall is, Kinuta responding it’s only strong enough to take one more impact.  Shinoda directs the civilians to be evacuated and focus the Trion on the cannons, taking out one of the three Ilgar left. It seems like the shield will be breached, but one of the Ilgars is sliced into pieces by Tachikawa, the base secure for now. They start to reinforce the wall, Tachikawa directed by Shinoda to target the Rabits.

Arashiyama explains this to Yuma and the others, Yuma impressed, since the Ilgars are tougher in self destruct mode, and also able to be pulled down easier. Kitora connects this to the incident a while ago, figuring out that Yuma was the one who helped her.

Arashiyama’s squad is complimented for taking out one of the Rabits, Arashiyama saying that they took out one that was significantly weaker, thanks to Yuma and Osamu’s fighting it before.

Osamu requests Shinoda let him and Yuma go to support the C ranks, since Chika is in the areas still being evacuated. Shinoda starts to allow them both, but Kido stops them, saying only Osamu can go, since Yuma would only confuse and frighten Border agents and citizens with his Black Trigger. He’s told to go with Arashiyama squad and take out more of the Rabits. In short, he’ll allow emergency use of the Black Trigger, since it’s effective against the Rabits, but Yuma has to follow his orders. Yuma retorts that if he’d just used a regular Trigger, he’d be allowed to go with Osamu, Kido saying that he can’t help but use his Black Trigger, since he’s like his father, Yugo.

Osamu is concerned, since there’s a swarm heading towards the evacuated areas and a Rabit may be among them. Kitora volunteers to help Osamu, since, as she says, “she owes them one”. Shinoda permits this and the groups go their separate ways.

Shinoda is confused at the tactics the Neighbors are using, since they could’ve destroyed the headquarters with a few more rounds of bombing. And the deployment of the Rabits is sporadic as well.

The chapter ends as the Neighbor army commanders are bickering about why they didn’t take out Border with a few more bombers, the “captain” explaining that their goal isn’t to destroy or even occupy Earth. It’s implied that they’re trying to capture Chika, as the final panel focuses on her.

Magi 214

Everyone waits eagerly for Aladdin to explain the history of Alma Toran, where he and Gyokuen came from. Yunan notices Judal isn’t there and Koumei explains that he’s busy with training. Yunan speaks as if that’s the only other Magi, meaning he doesn’t know about Gyokuen or knows that she’s from Alma Toran as well.

Aladdin begins, saying Alma Toran was where he, the Djinn and Al Thamen were born. Alibaba asks if it’s a faraway country, but Aladdin says it’s a place located in another time and space. Sinbad theorizes it could be on another star or planet, since the theory that the earth they live on is suspended in space like the stars they see in the sky already exists.

But Aladdin says it’s not that simple, since another star is still in the same space, while Alma Toran is in another dimension entirely. He compares it to a mirror, a world they can’t reach, suggesting that these are like parallel dimensions, separate from each other

Most of the members are confused or think it doesn’t matter, Kouen the only one who’s really fascinated by it. Alibaba asks the obvious question of how Aladdin got here. Aladdin responds that Solomon, who he compares to a God of this world, sent them here.

Solomon warned Aladdin not to tell people of this other world, since knowing they were created might make them lose motivation. But Aladdin thinks otherwise, that knowing the story of this other world might help people learn from its mistakes.

Aladdin uses the same magic Mogamett used to transmit his memories in a visible form, using Solomon’s Wisdom to aid in recovering his memories of Alma Toran.

The world of Alma Toran started much like the world they live in now, except that instead of just humans, other intelligent life came to be on the same planet. It’s seen as odd to Aladdin that there are only humans: no other species has reached the same level of development. But there were many in Alma Toran and they created various societies and cultures.

Alma Toran was so big, the various species didn’t meet each other for a while and lived in relative peace for ages. But war eventually broke out, the greater species wiping out the weaker ones. And the weakest one was the human race. But from them Solomon was born, with the greatest power of them all, power enough to even create a new world. The chapter ends as Aladdin begins to explain their story.

Naruto 664

We’re reminded of Sasuke’s near death state as we move to Orochimaru’s group. Juugo thinks to himself that with the young Uchiha in such a weakened position, Orochimaru might try to take his body for himself. But Karin obviously wouldn’t want that. She notices someone’s with Sasuke, but can’t recognize their chakra. The only thing she can tell is that the presence is menacing. The group hurries to his position.

Meanwhile, Gai, Lee and Tenten are recovering. Gaara flies over them and they start to piece together that something must be up with Kakashi along with Naruto’s situation. Gai gains new energy to move to where Kakashi is, Tenten exasperated at his and Lee’s attitude, left without Neji.

Madara is moving towards a new location (most likely where Obito is) when he notices his body feels heavier. He spits out the Ninja Tools we saw from a while ago that Kinkaku and Ginkaku used.

Back where Lee, Gai and Tenten are, those two Ninja Tools of the Sage of the Six Paths hit Lee and Gai, Tenten remembering what they are.

Kakashi and Minato continue to fight Black Zetsu, Minato realizing that the other half of Kurama has been taken. Gaara and Sakura arrive, explaining what needs to be done. Kakashi and Gaara face off against Black Zetsu, while Minato begins to release Kurama into Naruto.

He flashes back to leaving Kushina, still pregnant with Naruto. She’s worried about him, but Minato calms her, saying that she doesn’t know this. Kushina responds that she’s certain of it because she’s his mother. Minato responds that he’ll protect his child no matter what, since he’s its father.

Back with Minato, he almost puts Kurama’s other half back into Naruto, but Black Zetsu blocks it with power, retreating. The chapter ends as Madara appears, prepared to take Obito’s eye back for himself.

Toriko 266

Toriko arrives at the 1st IGO Biotope, surprised to see that Mansam is now the president. Komatsu greets Sani, Coco and Zebra, the last of the three very gruff to Komatsu, since he was worried he might’ve died in Gourmet World. Sani compliments Komatsu on getting manlier.

Rin, promoted as well, is ecstatic to see Toriko. She tells him that she never stopped believing in him, Toriko thinking she was the one to arrange that group of people to encourage him during his depression over losing Komatsu to Starjun.

Rin then asks Toriko to marry her, Sani annoyed at her persistence, Toriko oddly accepting of it. She has to confirm this and Toriko still agree to marry her, everyone else in shock at this, especially Sani, since Toriko would become his brother in law.

It’s revealed that the group still hasn’t found all of Ichiryuu’s Full Course (meaning that synthetic food is just that, artificial and produced by some advanced science, unrelated to the endless Full Course) and that they’re looking for the final ingredient, the main course, in the 1st IGO Biotope. Zebra had been searching before, as shown by the craters he made with his brute method. He couldn’t find anything with his echolocation, Coco didn’t see any electromagnetic waves and Sani couldn’t discern anything with his Dining Kitchen ability, so it’s very well hidden.

Toriko sees there’s a bit of the original surface left and he smells it, tracing a line of scents back to Ichiryuu, astonishing the others at the extent to which he can track a smell back in time. Coco thinks this has to do with the Gourmet World stimulating his Gourmet Cells, Komatsu explaining that Toriko could find him anywhere with a hint of his smell.

Toriko explains how the Gourmet World was so dangerous that they had to find the rare spots that were relatively safe by comparison and make a place that was virtually invisible, made of trees and rocks that were like the materials in Disappearing Cuisine. He notes that such a place wouldn’t survive for long, but in the Human World, it might be vastly different. He thinks Ichiryuu might be playing a prank on them from the grave, a spot standing out to him. The others’ senses can’t penetrate that spot, but Toriko can perceive something there, the spot with seemingly nothing there having an invisible layer that Toriko can touch, even though nothing appears to be there.

The group enters a sizeable area and finds the treasure chest. The chapter ends as we see something that looks like a Nitro sitting inside the nearby house waiting for them.

Bleach 568

Rukia starts increasing her temperature slowly, reducing Sode no Shirayuki’s power gradually so as not to damage her cells. Her thumb is bleeding, so she thinks she might’ve gone beyond the 4 second rule.

As Nodt contemplates Rukia’s power and whether it has the ability to incite fear. He continues his thought from last chapter: that this isn’t true fear. The only thing he truly fears is Juhabach’s wrath, to be killed by him, denied by his master. He sees this battle as a trifle: he proceeds to activate his Vollstandig, Tartar Foras, roughly translated as Fear of God, a monstrous form.

Rukia moves to attack, As Nodt quickly moving behind her, saying she’s powerless to stop him now. He notes that her feet are now paralyzed, explaining that his power now works through the optic nerves and not the cells, so she’s back to square one in being affected by Fear. The two of them are surrounded by a net that creates multiple eyes with the same power.

Even closing her eyes is futile, since As Nodt explains that memories are what power this and even one horrible memory can freeze a person with doubt. It builds up and becomes clearer when you close your eyes. As Nodt is confident he’s won, Rukia sinking into horror.

But the barrier breaks open slightly behind them and Byakuya appears as the chapter ends, the new confrontation beginning.

Fairy Tail 371

The townspeople are shocked at the explosion, some wanting to help the guild-members, since they helped them by putting it together after their higher ranked mages were away for 7 years.

We see Cube floating above the crater, Sayla proud of her achievement. Kyouka wonders why they even went to the trouble of going to where the guild was if they were just planning to destroy them. She says they should move forward with their plan, emphasizing that they intend to wipe out all humans.

Franmalth is shocked to see high magic readings and a grunt reports that there are three figures headed for Cube, though Franmalth thinks it’s much more. Sayla shows the underside of the cube and they see Happy, Charle and Tigerlily carrying cards.

We flashback to Cana trying to stop Elfman. She slaps him with a card, using a technique we saw a while back in the Paradise Tower arc, sealing Elfman into the card. She does the same for the others, sending them back to her hand, cardifying herself and giving the deck to the Exceed in order to escape all at once.

Sayla is stunned, Kyouka ordering the underlings to mobilize their defenses.

Happy and the others are sucked towards the Cube by a gravitational field, standing upside down. Cana releases the cards and the group starts their invasion of the Cube. Cana finds Elfman, now free of Sayla’s control, it seems, and encourages him to get up so they can save Mira and Lisanna.

Back where Mira is being turned by Kyouka’s lackey, Mira breaks out suddenly, revealing to the scientist that she already had the Demon Factor that was infusing into her in order to use Satan Soul, so now it’s fully awakened.

Kyouka returns to Erza’s cell, astonished as Natsu and Lisanna trap her. Erza appears with her Equip magic ready as the chapter ends, preparing to counterattack against her captors.

WSR 2-3-14

Disclaimer: These aren’t official translations, merely scanlations. Buy localized or original manga to support the author if at all possible. Know the difference between piracy/theft and sharing without personal profit.

This week we’ll be covering the most chapters in a while, since all the breaks are over for the moment

Magi 213

As Kouen, Alibaba and the others exit the ship, Jafar says that they’re required to put their Metal Vessels in a special depository, so that everyone can negotiate without concern of fights breaking out with the Household Members. As long as the Metal Vessels are here, the Household Members can’t use their Household Vessels. There are a total of 12 here: Sinbad’s 7, Kouen’s 3, Koumei’s 1 and Alibaba’s 1.

Kouen enters the room where Sinbad is waiting with Masrur and Sharrkan (who are more than capable even without their Household Vessels) to start the negotiations. Morgiana and the others want to move to Sinbad’s side, but are stopped by Kouen and his men. Alibaba’s household is confused by this, but accepts that there must be some reason why he made the arrangement he did with Kouen. Morgiana confronts him directly, inquiring about what could make him do this, hinting that it could be Balbadd, something he’s willing to die to protect. Alibaba placates them by saying he’ll keep them safe from Kouen’s manipulations.

Seishuu, one of Kouen’s 4 Household members, notes that most of Sinbad’s Household isn’t assimilated, confident that they could kill them all. But another says that their ki is strong and it’s revealed that the Yambala are allied with Sinbad as well, bolstering his strength.

But then the Fanalis Corps appear and they seem to be on Kouen’s side, which confuses Sinbad, since Reim was supposedly in an alliance with Sindria. Muu says that he’s good friends with Kouen and wants to support him.

Kouen says they should focus on the summit itself, Yunan chiming in and appearing, revealing two allies of his that are the major focus: Aladdin and Titus.

The chapter ends as the three of them start to explain the past of Alma Toran.

Seven Deadly Sins 64

Drefyus’ group discusses why the Seven Deadly Sins would even be attacking, since with Gowther, there are 5 of them together; invading Lyonesse doesn’t make much sense. But Jericho says it doesn’t matter; they just have to fight them and show their power. Jericho and Hauser bicker, Hauser bringing up his Platinum Holy Knight rank, which Jericho says isn’t as good as Diamond, which is likely one of the highest.

Dreyfus thinks there must be a plan, but he doesn’t know what it could be. He thinks Helbram might know, being one of Hendricksen’s men, but Helbram plays the fool. Dreyfus presses him and he breaks, saying that it’s probably what used to be Merlin’s castle, Hendricksen’s magic research facility, which has many artifacts, including Meliodas’ hilt.

Diane and King are moving towards Lyonesse as well, thinking they can provide adequate support with their Sacred Treasures. Both of them are concerned, since they’d never seen Meliodas as angry as he was before Diane threw them towards the kingdom.  Diane even wonders whether Meliodas would get that angry if it was her instead of Elizabeth captured, King insisting he would, since they’re all comrades (trying to hide his own obvious feelings for Diane).  She thinks Meliodas wouldn’t make that kind of face, King saying he’d try to rescue her himself, which somewhat cheers Diane up.

King remembers something, summoning Oslo, the Black Hound we saw a while back that was tracking the group before King joined them. He explains that Oslo can send people to a location if they swallow them, so they can get to Lyonesse quickly that way. It’s a bit awkward for Oslo to swallow Diane, but she manages to get through into what appears to be the dungeon area.

The Holy Knights are trying a new strategy, fighting Meliodas with just weapons, since he can’t counter physical attacks, but he easily beats them. Ban calls them idiots and wonders what that power could be from before. Gowther says it’s more important whether they’re an ally or enemy, but Meliodas says they should focus on their goal of getting the hilt back and rescuing Elizabeth.

A huge group comes at them and Gowther unleashes his Sacred Treasure, a double bow, and rewrites the memories of the Holy Knights so they think they’re friends or family. It’s only temporary, but it will distract them so they can get in without all the fighting and use their energy better.

The chapter ends as we see Arthur, his wizard and Hendricksen moving through Lyonesse to fight with the Seven Deadly Sins

World Trigger 47

The Neighbors watching over the invasion comment that Earth hasn’t shown all its power, since they had a limited number of people taking out their initial spy Neighbor soldiers, the RADs. Some of the Neighbors are impatient and some squabbles occur. The ultimate conclusion is to wait while they move to the next stage of their attack.

Osamu and Yuma are fighting off the Neighbor soldiers, but Replica explains that their plan now is to focus on one area at a time, while B rank squads evacuate the citizens.

A Rabit appears and attacks Osamu, Yuma counterattacking with his Black Trigger. Osamu warns him against using that, since Kido could retaliate, but Yuma says this is a dangerous situation, so he has no choice.

Some B rank agents mistake him for an enemy Neighbor and attack, but the Rabit recovers and attacks them. Arashiyama squad manages to take it out with precise shots. Arashiyama contacts HQ, but they send a garbled message, talking about “cannonfire” and “shooting down”.

The chapter ends as we see the Ilgar bomb type Neighbor Soldiers attack the HQ building, starting to damage it even slightly.

Bleach 567

As Nodt finds the concept of someone unable to fear ridiculous. Rukia says he should try using his power again if he doesn’t believe it. She then reveals the true form of Sode no Shirayuki, meaning it was still incomplete before (though she still doesn’t have Bankai, it seems)

A group of thorns flies at Rukia, but she blocks one with her hand, As Nodt taunting her, since she was running from them a few moments ago. But the thorn is frozen solid and shatters on the ground. Rukia explains that, while she can unleash Sode no Shirayuki’s true power, her body still isn’t strong enough to resist it fully, so she has to keep her body as undamaged as possible.

As Nodt repeats the fact we saw before: even freezing the thorns doesn’t stop his Fear from permeating into you. He notes that a state of peace, while conducive to life, is not as easily explained as the state of fear, where people can spout many words elucidating why they are afraid. At their core, he insists, people desire to live, so they cannot help but fear death. In short, fear is the basis of life itself: even growing stronger is for the purpose of eliminating fear.

Rukia responds that’s why she can’t be affected by fear: she isn’t really alive anymore (which sounds a lot like Komamura with Dangai Joue) The true nature of Sode no Shirayuki isn’t as a medium for cold itself, but reducing the user’s temperature below 0, so that anything they touch freezes, the user an extension of the blade.

But As Nodt says that if that were true, the basic functions of life would cease, so you’d be dead anyway. Rukia retorts that, technically, she is dead, but she’s learned how to function in a state of physical death by manipulating her reishi. Her molecules are in a suspended state so As Nodt’s fear cannot flow into her body.

Rukia moves quickly, slashing at As Nodt’s shoulder. She’s reached 18 below zero, the freezing point of blood, meaning his wound won’t bleed. 50 below zero freezes the moisture in the ground, causing an ice-quake. And absolute zero freezes virtually everything, Rukia only having 4 seconds of mobility.

The chapter ends as she seemingly freezes As Nodt solid and has won, As Nodt contemplating if this is what it feels like to fear.

Naruto 663

Sasuke is trying to stand and Sakura is still healing Naruto when she notices the Nine Tails’ chakra has faded. She sees that Naruto doesn’t have a pulse or heartbeat, Gaara explaining that Kurama’s been extracted. He explains that Kurama told him about Minato having his other half and that they have to get to Minato to transfer that half to Naruto in order to save him.

They can’t use the body flicker technique, since that was connected to Minato having sealed Kurama’s yang half in Naruto, so they have to get there manually. It’s still a while away, so Sakura, using the last bit of her chakra, cuts a slit in Naruto’s side and massages his heart to keep him alive until they get there.

Meanwhile, Tobirama is helpless to move and help Sasuke, whose chakra he can’t sense in the slightest.

Karin, elsewhere, has unleashed the chakra chains that Kushina used when she was helping Naruto subdue Kurama, fighting against Black Zetsu and the Mokuton statue. But Black Zetsu stabs her through with Mokuton jutsu. She bites herself to heal and Suigetsu and Juugo come in to help, knocking Black Zetsu away and keeping him immobile. Black Zetsu starts to counterattack, but Orochimaru uses a cursed seal on him and he becomes paralyzed. Karin has recovered, but she says she can’t sense Sasuke at all, just as Tobirama said.

Madara unlocks the Gedou Mazou’s power, taking on a new form like Obito did, becoming the next Jinchuuriki of the Ten Tails.

Sakura’s still keeping Naruto alive, encouraged by his confidence many years ago, saying he can make this dream happen as long as she helps him.

The chapter ends as we see an unknown figure appear before Sasuke. I’m theorizing Obito by the bloodied appearance of the foot, though that means Obito will somehow sacrifice himself to keep Sasuke alive, it seems.

One Piece 737

Violet explains that Pica ate the Stone Stone fruit, so now he can absorb rock (meaning it’s a Paramecia type, not Logia) He’s molded himself with the entire castle, made entirely of stone, so he’s able to manipulate it as he pleases. The walls move together, trying to crush our heroes.

Back at the finals, we see Jesus Burgess attacking the Fighting Fish bosses with his Surge Elbow, which seems to be a special weapon, possibly using Impact Dials.

Suddenly, the fish that has the Devil Fruit on its back appears, Sabo, Bartolomeo and Diamante noticing. It heads straight for Rebecca, who moves to slash the chains. Sabo moves in to take the fruit, but Diamante attacks. Sabo snaps the extended and hardened sword in half, Burgess moving to take the fruit. Rebecca and Bartolomeo are keeping their distance from Burgess’ Surge Elbow, while Sabo takes his own stance and prepares an attack to counter it. He attacks Burgess using Armament Haki, shattering the armor.

Diamante observes that the fighting style is vastly different from the Lucy we saw before, getting suspicious.

Usopp’s group is nearly at the executive tower, the structure a combination of an executive only lift in the center with shafts on the sides leading to various drop-off points for broken toys.

We see Cavendish, recovering from being thrown into the place where the losers of the tournament were thrown, like Chinjao and others. He meets Trebol, revealed to have the Sticky Sticky fruit, who bickers with Sugar about the name of the tower where all the toys come in from above and leave as Sugar creates them.

Cavendish is turned into a toy and Sugar initiates a contract, which explains why they can’t seem to resist, for the most part. They seem to be aware that they’re toys, but can’t resist (though we have examples of the toys eventually breaking free of the contract at least). Koala’s master, Hack, is one of them, a connection people may have speculated on already, as well as Sai and Elizabello, griping about finding out where the weapons were smuggled in Sai’s case or being a toy even though they’re a king in Elizabello’s.

Usopp and the Tontatta sneak closer, Leo explaining their plan. Sugar likes to eat grapes, so they’re going to slip in a grape shaped amount of a super spice. Once she is shocked, the toys will (theoretically) return to normal and regain their human forms. From there, they will reveal Doflamingo’s true colors and take back Dressrosa. The chapter ends as Leo moves to slip the “grape” into Sugar’s basket.

One Piece is on break next week, so we won’t quite be back to a regular schedule yet, though this week will be the expected lineup of 8 series.

Toriko 265

The Gourmet Age is long past, a former one star restaurant now a high class establishment by the new standards. Everything is now served in pill form, the concept of fresh food disappeared.  A year and a half ago, after Meteor Spice’s damage, Human World was virtually a wasteland, unable to be farmed. The IGO eventually ran out of its reserves and resorted to the food pills. But the synthetic food only serves for the nutritional value, none of the taste.

We see a bright eyed young man entering a shop to get ingredients for his ailing mother. It’s explained that any fresh ingredient, like a simple daikon, is now a high class ingredient, since they’re so rare. Suguru really wants to get fresh ingredients for his mother, the shopkeeper giving the daikon to him, asking him to keep it secret, since the shop will eventually be closing down because they have so few fresh ingredients left.

Suguru is caught by the guards, who are so desperate for food, they’re even willing to lose a finger to their rings that explode if they violate the contract. But they’re stopped after they steal the daikon by Toriko, who starts to give out the ingredients from the Gourmet World that he acquired over the last year and a half to everyone in Human World with his immense strength and skill.

Komatsu has improved his skills as well, effortlessly preparing ingredients with his Derous Knife, each motion crisp and clean. Everyone crowds around the celebrities of Gourmet World, returning with such a cornucopia of fresh ingredients

The chapter ends as Mansam, now the president of IGO, sends out what we can presume are Coco, Zebra and Sani to meet Toriko.

Fairy Tail 370

We go down a deep hole to see the final seal on Face released, the giant construct rising out of the ground.

Back at Tartaros’ hideout, Natsu and Lisanna see a sword that they move to use in order to free themselves.

Kyouka and Franmalth try to find Face’s location, Kyouka ordering Franmalth to activate it remotely. He explains they can’t do that now, though he speculates Crawford might have been able to, had they just gone with his plan.

Kyouka’s concerned about Fairy Tail getting involved, but Sayla steps in and says that soon they will be eliminated.

We see a member of Kyouka’s squad called Lamy, a subordinate demon apparently,  hopping around in an area with a bunch of tubes, likely containing experiments. She stops at seeing Tempesta, now in a new more bishounen looking form and she’s gawking over it, Tempesta focusing on recalling important information and not his looks. Jackal has been reborn as well, meaning Tartaros is still well at full power and only growing stronger with the inclusion of Minerva and possibly Mirajane if things go their way. The loss of memories on Tempesta’s part is connected to what are now called sin particles, possibly the same or different than the anti magic particles.

Suddenly, Minerva is shown, her new form terrifying as expected, and Lamy moves her attention to Mirajane, who she’s still modifying.

Back at Fairy Tail, Elfman is still sulking and Cana comes in, commenting on how weird he was behaving. She sees the Lacryma and panics, Elfman pinning her to the wall. Cana now sees that he’s being controlled.

Levy, meanwhile, has located the base, which is now right above Magnolia, the country the guild resides in. The group moves to attack Tartaros, but the chapter ends as we see the guild explode (destroyed for at least the 2nd or 3rd time now)
