One Piece is on break this week

Dr. Stone 21

Senkuu and Chrome comment how nimble Kohaku is along with her gorilla like strength, which irritates her. Kohaku then tells them to work at getting more iron sand too

Suddenly, Senkuu notices what looks like a melon in the water, revealed to be Suika, who suddenly has the magnet. Chrome takes it from her after he explains to Senkuu that her name is more a nickname, since she wears that melon gourd as a hat.

But they see that Suika was also trying to gather the iron dust. She explains that she wants to help, saying that she’s always felt like she couldn’t really contribute.

Senkuu thanks her, even commenting that she’s better suited to gathering the iron dust because she’s smaller. Suika is embarrassed at how nice he is to her, not even asking why she wears the melon gourd.

As she goes to gather more iron sand, Chrome thinks she looks like Momotarou.

Senkuu hears this, wondering how they know about Momotarou even though they don’t know about Dragon Quest or Monster Hunter, which he referenced with regards to Chrome’s philosopher stone and his hoarding tendencies previously.

They explain that Ruri told them the story, though it was adjusted in terms of the animals, including a gorilla, lion and crocodile, rather than the dog, monkey and pheasant from the original.

Kohaku says that Ruri has an amazing memory, Senkuu more interested than ever to meet her and heal her with the sulphonamide (the more precise term for sulfur based antibiotics from Viz’s translation)

Kinrou still stops Senkuu from entering the village, Chrome saying it won’t matter eventually now that they’ve got the iron sand.

Senkuu explains that mixing 4 parts iron sand with 1 part charcoal will allow them to make iron, though they’ll need a temperature much hotter than the fire using for making earthenware, which is only around 700 degrees, while 1500 degrees is what they need for smelting iron

He pulls out some bellows that he’s made, saying they need to pump oxygen into the fire to increase the temperature. Everyone is pumping furiously, though Senkuu thinks they’ll need to do this for several hours to get to 1500 degrees

It’s no use though, Senkuu and Chrome concluding they need more people to pump in order to get the temperature high enough.

Ginrou still wants a silver spear of his own, Senkuu thinking he’ll be included into their fold soon enough.

But he wonders about the others, Suika saying that she can sneak around and appear just like a regular melon by hiding underground.

The chapter ends as Senkuu thinks Suika’s the perfect spy for them, assigning her to investigate around the village for what they need to convince others to join the kingdom of science.

We Can’t Study 24

Fumino, having learned about Yuiga being in Kirisu-senseis’s house, is panicking. She tells him that he shouldn’t be so casual about it and definitely shouldn’t tell Rizu or Uruka.

But the next day, some of her classmates, including Kashima, Uruka’s swim team mate, ask if she and Yuiga are dating, having seen them seemingly in a romantic hug at a tree that’s considered common for couples to be under. Fumino realizes she and Yuiga are both not careful enough to avoid people spreading rumors about them.

Fumino tries to quash the rumor, but Yuiga comes in and says things that make people think they’re in a relationship even more. She insists they’re just student and tutor, but Yuiga again acts like a typical boyfriend would, Fumino chasing him as he heads off for them to study.

Yuiga observes that Fumino’s keeping more distance, but Kashima and the others that want to verify whether the rumor is true crowd up the library to force them to get closer in proximity. We learn that there’s a group in 3-A called the Thorn Club who makes it their duty to screen any possible suitors for Fumino, worried about someone like Yamaoka getting interested in Fumino, since he’s known as a playboy

Fumino is panicking, not even doing well on her basic arithmetic, which Yuiga notices and corrects her on. She apologizes, getting everyone’s attention as they start to think they aren’t really acting like a couple at all.

The next day, Kashima sees Fumino and Yuiga walking together, Fumino still trying to correct the misunderstanding. Kashima says she understands, thinking to herself their bond is more than a romantic one, something of a deep trust.

Fumino explains things to Yuiga, who’s apologizing profusely at how careless he was. But she says she was at fault too, even joking briefly that they should become a couple, both of them embarrassed at the idea.

The chapter ends as Fumino thinks to herself she can’t fall in love with a guy her friends are interested in, further complicating the harem situation.

Black Clover 119

After Lil has defeated his opponents, his teammates are confused as he looks at the aftermath, considering it like a piece of art. Walter tries to make this seem like a great thing, Lil’s loss of focus meaning his teammates have to do their best, which even Asta finds a bit silly

Meanwhile, Luck and Klaus aren’t getting along, the Black Bull wanting to fight to his heart’s content, while the Golden Dawn member tells him to focus on teamwork. But their last teammate, Paulie Angel of the Blue Rose Magic Knights, wonders if they’ll be all right. She tries to encourage them to work together, Luck agreeing, while Klaus thinks he has to take charge

The main opponent they need to worry about is the Silver Eagle’s Rob Vitesse, said to be the most mobile of the Magic Knights with his Wind Magic.

The match begins all the combatants in the center of the field, blasting magic everywhere. Klaus blocks an attack, but the crystal’s in danger. Luck reveals himself and takes the crystal out of harm’s way, Asta observing how his magic shape’s changed and Magna notes that Luck’s improved his grimoire by adding pages to it in his training.

Klaus thinks he can’t fall behind, attacking another opponent with his Steel Magic in the form of a giant drill.

Klaus and Luck see Rob Vitesse, moving to push past their opponents quickly. Paulie reveals herself, using her Wing Magic technique, Angel Flutter, an attack to distract her enemies and a tailwind to speed up Luck and Klaus

Rob doesn’t seem intimidated, moving with his enhanced speed. But in spite of that, Luck manages to strike him with even greater agility, smashing the crystal as well, cementing their victory.

The chapter ends as the next match with Magna is coming up, the Black Bull excited to show off how much he’s grown

Boku no Hero Academia 147

We move back to Nighteye’s group, Irinaka attacking them from all sides, threatening to crush the Heroes.

But Lock-Rock, using his Lockdown Quirk, fixes the wall in particular points so the danger is averted, though Irinaka uses his Mimicry Quirk to keep attacking from a different angle.

Deku manages to break away the walls as Irinaka attacks, the Heroes thinking they need to do something, Eraserhead in particular wondering where his body is, since he must be able to see them to attack so precisely

We learn that Irinaka’s Quirk, while impressive in the tactics he’s using, is also draining his stamina, along with the strain of Trigger on his body. He’s always been very careful about details, allowing him to get to his position as Chief Director, but now that the situation is much more difficult with a group of Heroes, he’s letting them get away because of how exhausted he is.

Deku thinks of all the people that have helped them so far, telling Irinaka they won’t give up here

Irinaka changes strategies, cutting off the group into smaller sections by sealing off the walls.

Lock Rock is attacked by Toga, stabbing his hand, the dagger stopped in place by Lockdown. But as he punches her, it turns out it was a duplicate made by Twice, the real Toga attacking him from behind.

Deku breaks through the wall, Lock Rock telling them that an imposter attacked him. But as he moves over to Deku, he tries to stab him, Eraserhead negating Toga’s Quirk, revealing her real body as Deku recognizes her, which makes Toga happy

Eraserhead moves to wrap Toga with his weapon, but she manages to get herself away, stabbing him in the process.

Deku moves to help, but Eraserhead stops him, saying they need to consider that the League of Villains is in cahoots with the Eight Precepts of Death rather than being antagonistic to each other.

We flashback to Shigaraki making an agreement with Overhaul regarding Twice and Toga being temporarily used by the Eight Precepts of Death. Shigaraki’s hesitant to give them up, because they’re considered so important, but Chisaki insists they need to work out their problems.

The chapter ends as Nighteye is facing off against Twice, who’s seemingly made a double of Rappa to fight against him.

Magi 357

Alibaba pushes back the angels with Amon’s power, then Aladdin creates a Borg barrier to defend Heliohapt from their attacks

Aladdin tells Alibaba to stay behind and protect the surface while he goes deeper into the Great Rift and finds David’s true body, the King Candidate agreeing.

The Magi comments on how reliable Alibaba has become and that even his fight with Sharrkan showed how much he’s grown.

Alibaba thinks Aladdin’s exaggerating, but Aladdin notes how he and everyone else around the former prince of Balbadd has been influenced by him and become all the better for it.

Aladdin leaves Alibaba, saying that they’ll win.

Alibaba notes how he’s now standing in the place of everyone who can’t fight for what they believe in, their rukh rewritten to manipulate their wishes. He thinks that this is the time he has to stand against the enemies

But we see that the International alliance’s representatives from the other countries are now communicating to everyone across the world

They say that the return to the Rukh is a gift from the heavens, from God, but that there are traitors to this destiny that they must take down

Temporarily suspending the ban on Metal Vessels, the armies of the world all mobilize, heading towards Heliohapt

The chapter concludes as Alibaba wonders how he can possibly fight them all

Seven Deadly Sins 227

We see the Sins try to fight off the skeletons, Diane punched into a wall. Gowther attempts to control some of them, but Merlin tells him to get down as she blasts them down.

Sicne they aren’t moving by nerves, but sheer hatred, they’re much tougher, and they need to stop the negative energy powering them at the source or they won’t stop

We see both King and Diane use powerful attacks to practically vaporize or crush their enemies to nothing.

Ban isn’t doing as well, just fighting them and tanking the damage with his immortality.

Escanor says Ban is pitiful to be unable to fight against such weaklings, Ban countering that the Sin of Pride should look behind him.

But Escanor says being so strong means he doesn’t have to care

Meliodas is surprisingly calm, his demon marks manifesting as he tells Merascylla that the Seven Deadly Sins were brought together by destiny and shouldn’t be underestimated.

The Commandment of Faith decides to channel all the negative energy into one skeleton, powering it up significantly. But it seems it can’t hold all that power in its body, exploding into bits.

Merlin tells everyone to guard their minds, as the gestalt of rage and despair is trying to posses them, Diane the target they pick as she moves to try and kill them, her eyes bleeding from their sheer negative energy.

Elaine is crawling on the floor, wanting to help Diane and King. She’s helped up by Elizabeth, who’s seemingly recovered as the chapter ends

Fairy Tail 545 (FINALE)

We flash forward to a year after the fight against Acnologia, Lucy getting an award for her novel called Iris’ Adventure

The more affluent people praise Lucy, but are somewhat confused about why her friends are so enthusiastic about celebrating until they learn they’re all from Fairy Tail.

Erza stops Natsu and Gray from fighting as we hear more from Lucy.

Anna is still around in this time (meaning in terms of time travel, she must’ve already had her child so that Lucy doesn’t cease to exist due to a paradox) and is teaching children in a small village.

Gajeel and Levy are still close, Lucy thinking she might’ve heard Levy whisper something to the Iron Dragon Slayer about a baby, which makes him blush.

Wendy seemingly heard more, since her hearing is even better as a Dragon Slayer.

The Wind Dragon Slayer still hangs out with Lamia Scale, telling everyone about what’s going on like Sherry seemingly learning to use magic again, albeit much smaller scale now.

The other guilds haven’t changed much, Sabretooth having an annual eating contest that Minerva wins, Ichiya still being the Hunk of the Year. But Mermaid Heel has become models for the Weekly Sorcerer Magazine.

Cana tries to encourage Lucy to drink, even forcing some down her mouth, which Gildartz tries to stop her. But when Juvia continues to try and strip, imitating Gray, Gildartz changes his tone, Cana slapping him.

Gray tells Juvia that he’s concerned about her scar that’s visible, but Juvia brings up his own, the Ice Mage saying that he guesses it’s okay for her, since they’re a couple and all.

Lucy brings up other couples: Elfman and Evergreen are as bizarre as always with their conflicting personalities. But what’s especially confusing is who LAxus is with, possibly Mirajane, Lisanna or Cana, it’s unclear.

Erza and Jellal are the most worrisome, since they don’t seem to be together very often, Jellal likely busy with Crime Sorciere business.

The king of Fiore/Ishghar (technically just different names for historical periods for the same continent) retired, Hisui taking his place.

In an effort to increase wealth, she pardoned Crime Sorciere for their crimes, saying that they have hope for the future as well.

Erza, in spite of trying to act like she didn’t care, apparently has started doing her hair, likely to look good for Jellal, being more feminine in her own way.

Makarov even appears, still energetic, though seemingly confined to a wheelchair now because of how much damage Fairy Law did to his legs.

The group is shocked to see people that look just like Mavis and Zeref, Mio and Arleos. They even seem to have some of their quirks, like Mavis not wearing shoes because of her upbringing by herself in a forested island.

Everyone else is having fun as well, the party continuing on through the night.

Lucy wakes up in her room, wondering if she dreamt it all. But Natsu and Happy are there as well, having taken her home from the celebration after she fell unconscious from too much alcohol.

She remembers all the fun times she had with Natsu, all the tough times, the moments that happened because she was part of Fairy Tail.  Lucy thanks Natsu for letting her join Fairy Tail.

Natsu says he has something to tell her as well, but seems to blow it off, pulling her along to start another guild job.

Erza, Gray, Wendy and Charle are all waiting for them, Natsu saying that they finally got permission to start their hundred year quest.

The series concludes as Lucy hopes everyone can find a place as special to her as Fairy Tail, even with all the flaws it has, with the friends that care about each other so much.

For a series, Fairy Tail was something I enjoyed reading, binge reading to catch up probably 8~ years ago after I graduated from college. The art has definitely changed, but I’d say, like Bleach, it’s for the better in terms of the character design etc.

I won’t say it ended greatly, but Fairy Tail always felt a bit simpler in its tone, so this ending likely will ring hollow for fans that grew up with it, unless they really just turn off their brains to enjoy it for the child-like ideals it espouses.

If anyone’s curious, the anime is slated to return sometime in 2018, so it will likely get a conclusion, which is more than one can say for many older series. I wish Mashima Hiro all the best in his next endeavor, though one hopes he’ll learn from these mistakes in some form or fashion

Dr. Stone 20

The village is abuzz with rumors about the outsider that came to the village with Kohaku, some thinking he’s dangerous, but many of the women more concerned with whether he’s strong or attractive.

Ruri and Kohaku’s father is furious that she was the one to bring Senkuu to their village, thinking she constantly disrespects the rules.

Senkuu explains that they need antibiotics to help Ruri and start the kingdom of science. They could take the route of penicillin with blue mold, but the sulfur drug is more effective and likely in the stone world, so they move to go that route.

We see the rough process of all the steps needed to make the antibiotics, using various minerals, the electricity generated with Chrome’s sulfur ball, alcohol and even the dog, Chalk, peeing for certain parts.

Senkuu explains things to Chrome and Kohaku regarding the earth revolving and gravity. Kohaku observes the north star and thinks that it’s a bit different than what Senkuu says, which leads him to hypothesize that the earth’s axis has tilted, meaning the stars will change accordingly.

Chrome reveals he’s found a piece of iron that’s magnetized, since it points towards true north.

With this magnet, Senkuu already thinks they can find the iron they need for the purposes of creating the sulfur drug.

We see Kohaku running the magnet to pick up iron sand, the first step towards healing Ruri, Senkuu impressed at how things are going as the chapter ends.

We Can’t Study 23

Rizu asks Sekijo if she wants to stay over at her house, Sekijo reluctantly agreeing.

Turns out, it’s supposed to be a pajama study party at Rizu’s house with Uruka and Fumino as well. Sawako is a bit hesitant at getting into her pajamas, but she sees Rizu’s and changes quickly

The girls keep asking Sekijo questions, which she tries to solve by referring them back to the text, but they persist, saying that they can’t help each other very well.

Sawako then decides to call over Yuiga, who arrives, to the embarrassment of Fumino and Uruka. He moves to leave, but Sawako says he still owes her for the study retreat before when she saved him from being caught in the girl’s bath.

As Yuiga aids Uruka, Rizu and Fumino with their questions, Sawako is impressed at how skilled he is at teaching.

Rizu’s father comes with udon for dinner, the girls happily eating. Yuiga thinks he should leave, though Uruka suggests he stay over. But as Yuiga looks at his udon, Rizu’s dad left him a message to leave in 5 minutes. Yuiga decides to leave, Rizu’s dad looming in the background as a threat to him.

The girls continue to study into the night, Sawako bringing up how Yuiga’s such a hassle, since he’s so considerate of others that his girlfriend would suffer as well

Uruka brings up whether Yuiga might have someone he likes, Sawako suggesting it could be Rizu. Fumino, in trying to make things less awkward, tries to suggest he might like Uruka, but then reverts back to Rizu, unable to make them both happy.

Sawako comments how they’re lucky to have someone like Yuiga as a tutor, since he’s so patient and understanding, the girls agreeing.

After everyone but Sawako has fallen asleep, she’s impressed at how hard Rizu works, thinking she might even support her goals now.

Rizu kicks her in the face, apparently thrashing around in her sleep. Fumino’s also quite bizarre, reciting the text of the Rashomon in her sleep.

The chapter ends as Sawako refuses Fumino’s offer to study together again, since she didn’t get any sleep through all that.

Black Clover 118

We see Finral’s squad eating after their victory, Charmy appearing to ask for food. She’s also here to cheer on Yuno.

Asta is confused at one member of another team called X in the next match, who is revealed to be Lil, the captain of the Azure Deer. He intends to raise the reputation of the Azure Deer, since they placed last in the recent yearly rankings.

Suddenly, Lil’s butler, Walter, appears, thanking Asta for being Lil’s friend (which is odd, since I don’t recall Asta being that friendly with Lil before)

Lil seems to be incompetent, getting caught in the magic of his opponents while rushing in.

His opponents move to finish him off, Lil seeing their magic attacks and becoming inspired.

We flashback to when Lil was younger, his family embarrassed at how sheltered and withdrawn he became when he got his grimoire, seemingly having more power than anyone expected.

Lil bemoans how no one can understand his paintings, but Walter slaps him, showing that he was hurt in the process of getting to Lil. He tells Lil that he needs to try to understand others if he wants to be understood, suggesting that he join the Magic Knights to showcase his Paint Magic’s power.

We see that his Paint Magic can actually generate any element, meaning he can attack with any possible element needed to defeat an opponent, the chapter ending as Lil says he still needs more to paint his masterpiece.

Boku no Hero Academia 146

Kirishima is barely conscious, not even recognizing Fatgum at first. But he still speaks about protecting him in spite of the battle being over.

Fatgum remembers when Tamaki brought Kirishima to his office, welcoming such an outgoing person in contrast to Suneater’s reserved nature. But Kirishima says that he wants to change and become more than just someone who stands out, that he won’t give up if he can protect someone.

Impressed at this, Fatgum is shocked as Rappa stands up, still wanting to fight. He actually offers first aid supplies that are nearby to heal up Kirishima.

But Tengai tells him that he’s here to rein in his lust for battle, asking Rappa what his duty is. Rappa ignores him, stomping him unconscious, since he can’t even manifest a barrier, weakened as he is.

Rappa demands that Fatgum finish him off, even admitting he can’t fight anymore with broken arms. He mentions how he was in an underground fight club, but could never really fight to his full potential, always beating his opponents too easily. That pain was something that he’s constantly felt, Fatgum and Red Riot people that could fight toe to toe with him.

Fatgum tells him that he’ll be arrested, Rappa saying that next time they’ll finish things, which impresses the Hero.

Kirishima is told by Fatgum that he can’t call himself weak anymore, that he’s a true Hero even in the eyes of an enemy.

Fatgum, after patching up Kirishima, says he has to rest, to Rappa’s annoyance.  He asks Rappa why he’s in a gang like this, Rappa telling him that he seeks to beat Overhaul

He appeared in the underground fight club and killed him, but his Quirk allowed Chisaki to instantly restore Rappa back. And since then, Rappa’s tried to beat Overhaul, but has lost 5 more times.

Fatgum asks what Chisaki plans to do, thinking it’s odd that he’d have all his underlings fight when he’s strong enough to beat someone like Rappa.

Rappa explains, in spite of Tengai telling him to stop, that Overhaul plans to reinstate the yakuza, but he needs money to spread whatever he intends to use for that purpose (likely the drugs that enhance and damage Quirks). He also says that whatever’s happening will start soon

We flashback to when Overhaul was escaping, his subordinate and Eri along with him. The underling wonders if this is the end of the Eight Precepts of Death, but Overhaul says that as long as he and the boss are here, as well as his serum and the drug, he can still bring things to fruition some day.

The chapter ends as Overhaul tells his temps to get to work, Himiko and Twice ready to start fighting.

Magi 356

We see Alibaba fighting against not only Sharrkan, but his attendants Anubis and Holmes. Sharrkan was aware of the range that Amon’s flames have, so the trio is teaming up against him, since Aladdin is occupied just keeping the angels at bay.

Aladdin is worried whether Alibaba’s plan will work, though we see that Alibaba is confident he can win

Sharrkan assaults him with the whip sword attacks that his Household Vessel lets him use, Alibaba blocking them, which makes the attendants think that Alibaba’s on the defensive.

But Sharrkan admits that Alibaba’s sword skills have gotten exponentially better to the point that he’s amazed at the improvement. However, what makes him the most astounded is how confident Alibaba’s eyes look

Alibaba takes another blow as Sharrkan still asks him why he tries to stop them from returning to the Rukh, the Djinn Equip falling apart.

Anubis and Holmes move to finish him off, but Aladdin makes teleportation circles that move them away.

Alibaba asks Sharrkan to continue their duel, wanting to improve his skills.

Sharrkan and Alibaba stand off, the king of Heliohapt wondering why Alibaba’s doing this, even thinking he might be trying to finish him off.

But Alibaba tells Sharrkan he can’t let his master return to the Rukh because Sharrkan himself didn’t choose it. More importantly than that, Sharrkan cannot protect his country if he returns to the Rukh, Alibaba asking him to trust his student.

Sharrkan still is unable to resist the chains that Sinbad has put on him, rushing at Alibaba.

In that moment, Alibaba sees how he’ll attack and strikes him down with a glancing blow, nearly knocking him out

The chapter ends as Alibaba tells him that when he wakes up, things will be okay, Sharrkan believing him as he falls unconscious.

One Piece 873

The Big Mom pirates are still trying to figure out exactly what caused the explosion and the collapse of Whole Cake Chateau that followed. The fact that communications were cut off means that they could’ve missed something.

Pekoms rushes in, saying that the Sun Pirates left off the east coast. Katakuri takes Brulee with him after learning about where the two squads have headed to: one towards the Straw Hats and Bege, the other infiltrating Germa 66

Katakuri says he must take out Luffy before he becomes a threat to Big Mom.

Btut suddenly Smoothie comes in, telling everyone to flee as Big Mom bursts in, still demanding wedding cake, Opera in her hands, likely dead from having his lifespan drained.

Streusen is injured, having fallen after saving everyone else, meaning he can’t recreate the wedding cake.

Perospero has a plan, telling Big Mom there was a spare cake made and that the Straw Hats stole it, directing her to where they are.

Big Mom tells him that if he’s lying, she’ll take all his lifespan away, flying towards Luffy on Zeus’s cloud.

Perospero and the others wonder what they’ll do, since even if Streusen wasn’t injured, it would take a few days to make the cake, which they may not have if Big Mom destroys the Straw Hats too fast.

Pudding offers to make a chocolate chiffon cake, working together with Chiffon to do so, though she’ll have to threaten her. The Three Eye Tribe hybrid thinks she needs to reward Big Mom if she takes out Sanji, who disgraced her at the wedding

Luffy and his crew are moving towards the Seducing Woods, meeting up with King Baum after he’s been fixed up.

Thankfully, Nami still has half of Lola’s Vivre Card, meaning she can manipulate King Baum.

As they’re heading towards the woods, we see the pursuing party getting ready to move out.

But the chapter ends as Big Mom herself is rushing towards them, demanding her wedding cake.

One Piece is on break next week

Seven Deadly Sins 226

Meliodas rushes at Zeldris, seemingly slashing him in half with Lostvayne, blasting debris towards Camelot. But Merlin says it’s fine as we see it disappear into the dimensional distortion, confirming its location and effectiveness.

It turns out the Zeldris that Meliodas attacked was an illusion of sorts made by Merascylla with her magic. She covers him in the Dark Cocoon, Ban narrowly missing his chance to rescue him as Meliodas is drawn deeper into the castle, Gowther able to sense his magic.

We see skeletons come out of the ground, Merlin saying they’re the result of a spell that utilizes their grudges, Vengeful Resurrection

The group pushes their way through the army of skeletons, but we shift to inside the Dark Cocoon

Meliodas tries to attack Merascylla, but it doesn’t work in her magic of darkness.

She taunts him, giving a riddle as to what happens to all his anger that he’s letting out.

We see outside that it’s transferring to the skeletons, making them stronger with Soul Enhancement: Vengeful Carnage, managing to push back the Seven Deadly Sins

The chapter ends as we see that this is a fight between Meliodas and his friends, the Sin of Wrath having to keep his anger in check if he wants to win.

Fairy Tail 544

We see Acnologia and Natsu rush at each other in his soul, while outside, Fairy Sphere is beginning to form around him

But Acnologia tells them in both scenarios that combining their powers won’t do anything against him, threatening to break Fairy Sphere

Meredy tells Lucy that she can use her Maguilty Sense to link everyone’s magic together and allow Lucy to empower Fairy Sphere so Acnologia can’t escape.

But even as we see virtually every character in the continent giving their magic power to Fairy Sphere, Acnologia continues to resist, Elfman commenting that he’s apparently going berserk. The Apocalypse Dragon even seems to just be raving about destruction now

Natsu brings together the power of all the Dragon Slayers, smashing Acnologia away as the Dragon King is paralyzed with the fear of Natsu’s resolve and his combined force.

The Flame Dragon Slayer tells Acnologia that he shouldn’t be so greedy, that he should be thankful for what he has, like Natsu does with his friends.

Acnologia disappears into dust as he tells Natsu he is truly worthy of the “King” title, though Natsu rejects it.

Everyone cheers as Acnologia’s body also disintegrates, Natsu and the Dragon Slayers appearing from the Ravines of Time.

The chapter ends as we’re told that this was the end of an era, but the beginning of another

Next chapter is the finale at 48 pages and I can’t imagine I’ll feel as good about this ending as Naruto’s was in contrast, or even Bleach’s.
