One Piece is unexpectedly on break this week, Oda was pushed with the time crunch of Golden Week (mangaka schedules are rough)

Dr. Stone 58

The cell phone is nearly complete, Senkuu explaining that the three major parts are the vacuum tube, the plastic case and the gold wiring.

Kaseki is confident in spite of Senkuu saying that the vacuum tube will require very precise craftsmanship

But when he sees the complexity of the Hickman pump, needed to make the vacuum tube’s environment with the suction, he wonders if it can really be made

Gen tries to motivate him by saying it’s near impossible, even modern craftsman needing great skill to make the pump. But Kaseki is unfazed, saying that the more difficult the project, the more he’s inspired, he and Senkuu high-fiving as Chrome and Senkuu did before, the vacuum tube his project

Ginrou says he thinks he’s the only one who noticed that Kaseki is trying to lighten the load, but everyone noticed it.

Suika and the kids are working on the gold wiring, allies of the science kingdom as much as the others

The rest of the group goes to making plastic, though Gen is dragged away by Kaseki after he asks Senkuu how they’d make such a thing in this age

Chrome is confused when Senkuu has them repeatedly boil tree sap, making a formalide solution

Suika is having trouble because of the cold, another villager bringing it up as well that the winter can be dangerous.

Senkuu, in order to keep everyone warm, makes a stove, needing the cinders from it for the next step

Kokuyou comments how the village is changing, Senkuu saying that’s what science does. The former chief admits that making Senkuu the chief was no mistake, respecting him

As Kaseki is making progress on the pump, Gen is confused at the vacuum tubes needing batteries

The next step is taking the zinc, manganese and charcoal, combining them together to make a basic battery, though Gen and Ruri are shocked when they learn they need to make 800 of them

As the chapter ends, we see that combining all these parts together has enabled them to finally make radio wave transmission start to become possible

We Can’t Study 62

Rizu has a worn out pencil case, which Sekijou notices, offering to pick one out for her, since her friend is unsure of which one to get. This makes Sawako ecstatic at hanging out with her friend

When Rizu meets her, she has a set of clothes that’s worth over $200, different from her usual attire.

The two go out to eat first, Sawako offering all kinds of desserts and treats to Rizu as we learn that she pulled an all-nighter planning out their whole outing.

But when Yuiga appears, Sawako changes her mind, saying that he should pick out Rizu’s pencil case, leaving them alone (seemingly because she still thinks Yuiga and Rizu work as a couple)

We see Sawako linger on a stuffed animal stuck on the edge of a claw machine, relating to it, since she was alienated in her youth for being so smart and focused on her studies, while her classmates wanted to have fun

She takes a mock exam, her teacher thinking it could motivate her. But when Rizu finishes the test around the same time as Sawako, she ignores people bringing up that she can’t read the mood, just saying that she finished and should leave.

Sawako, admiring Rizu for how she bucked social expectations, decides to apply herself more and become like Rizu, even seeking to get into her high school. But she wasn’t able to talk to or befriend Rizu until their third year.

Yuiga finds her, bringing up how he observed her Twitter feed, having clearly stayed up all night in excitement. He says she should go with Rizu, but Sekijou is embarrassed at this, saying she doesn’t talk about this with anyone else

Sawako then emphasizes how much she admires and respects Rizu, wanting to be like her

It turns out that Rizu is right behind her, happy that someone can see what she perceived as a negative trait and turn it into something positive

She asks Sekijou if she wants to choose the pencil case with her, Yuiga pressing Sekijou into saying she does, Rizu happy, since she thought Sekijou leaving was because she hated Rizu

Sekijou says that could never happen, accidentally tripping and falling onto Rizu’s chest, which makes her a bit irritated

The chapter ends as Rizu has her new pencil case and Yuiga is confused as to why Sekijou left him and Rizu alone together before

Black Clover 156

As Yuno and Asta clash with Licht, he brushes their attack aside with his first sword and then manifests a light version of Asta’s cleaver blade, blasting them with magic

The two try to struggle against it, but Licht blasts them out of the hideout, making a huge hole in the process

Rhya comments that it was a big explosion to get rid of them and Asta’s grimoire, but Licht says that grimoire is no longer his, suggesting that he will use Patri’s Light Magic

They see Cobb, now referred to as Ado, and meet up with the other humans possessed by elves as a captain’s wheel appears and the dungeon moves like a vehicle as they go to meet the others

Asta wakes up, Yuno, Mimosa and others there, trying to regain their bearings after what has happened. Nozelle, thanking Asta for saving Mereoleona, who’s barely clinging onto life, gives him a magic tool that stimulates his recovery, Noelle and Kirsch arriving as well

We learn from a Magic Knight contacting Nozelle that the other Magic Knight squads and people in the kingdom are behaving strangely as well with the reincarnation magic

Nozelle says they need to protect the Clover Kingdom, even if it means they must kill their allies

Noelle remembers how Luck’s attack missed her, thinking he’s still fighting against the elf soul and that they can save everyone

Asta agrees, everyone mobilizing to head towards the kingdom as the chapter ends

Boku no Hero Academia 183

Class 1-B’s play that crosses over Harry Potter, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings gets a decent reception from the audience, Kaminari sad he couldn’t see it

All Might scolds Deku a bit for not answering his phone, having forgotten it in the rush to get to the festival. Hound Dog comes to chastise Deku as well, saying he got lucky here, but that the student should leave things to the pro Heroes in the future until he gets his actual license

Eri can’t hold back her excitement, describing the dance with child-like wonder, Deku happy she enjoyed it

Other students praise 1-A, including those who were dismissive of them before. And while Iida says they still need to continue spreading their new perspective, the students that saw the performance were influenced, promising to tell others about it

Mineta is stressed, wanting to speed up cleaning so they can see the Miss Yuuei Contest

Kendo does a martial arts performance, chopping blocks in half with her Big Hands Quirk, though Bibimi Kenranzaki, part of the Support Department, has an especially flashy and expensive float of sorts that she’s made

Monoma is impressed, Kirishima trying to make him feel better by bringing up how good the play was

Nejire, trying to not clash directly with Kenranzaki, does her own performance, using her Quirk to float herself in the air, almost dancing

The votes are being tallied up, everyone deciding to split up and do their own things at the festival until then. We see later that Nejire did win, Kenranzaki a gracious loser, offering a hand of respect

As Eri is getting ready to leave, Deku surprises her with a candied apple, which he made himself with ingredients he bought while he was also getting the rope. He thought that they might not have it, so he wanted to make sure she had that experience.

She tastes it, much sweeter than an apple as they leave, Deku happy at the conclusion

We shift over to La Brava and Gentle being interrogated, La Brava refusing to use her talents for anyone but Gentle

The police tell Gentle they can easily determine if she was brainwashed, so he needs to be upfront with them. But the Gentle Criminal says that he was the primary offender and that he’s finally realized his actual dream thanks to Deku

The detective is happy, saying that Gentle has a chance to change things now, the chapter ending as he offers him tea, though they only have instant, not his preferred black tea bags

Seven Deadly Sins 266

Dreyfus’ group defending the castle is keeping them at bay, along with Slader and Jericho. But he realizes that Griamore has been defeated by an especially powerful Demon, able to break his Wall

As he moves to try and save Griamore, Dreyfus realizes he can’t attack with his Break power because he’d risk hitting him, but he still struggles and manages to pull him free. Suddenly, he’s giant sized, Fraudrin’s power still latent in him, Drefyus thankful to the Demon

Meanwhile, King decides he’ll go ahead, since he’s the only one that can fly

But Sariel and Tarmiel reveal they’re still okay, Sariel’s body more feminine and developed now, to Howzer’s shock

The Archangel explains that hosting a Goddess or Demon puts a lot of stress on a human body and they can suddenly develop, though Tarmiel doesn’t have that advantage, since his host body died after the Battle Festival with Gloxinia and Dolor, so it can’t advance further.

Sariel’s host was a young female performer who became ill and in exchange for curing the illness, Sariel gave her the power to fight against the Demon Clan.

But we see that the bodies are deteriorating fast after the rapid use of the Graces, the Archangels’ true forms appearing as their human forms perish, left behind as corpses

Howzer wonders how they can hope to win, the two Archangels saying that Estarossa is indeed dangerous, already having defeated Mael in the past. As strong as he is now, they have to beat him or the Holy War will end with their defeat

Elizabeth asks Estarossa where he’s taking her, the Demon still talking like he’s Meliodas and noting that they have a secret place.

Suddenly, the two are attacked in the sky, both falling. Elizabeth manifests her wings and saves Estarossa

But as she’s catching her breath, Estarossa grabs her by the throat, his form becoming darker with evil energy as the chapter ends

Double length chapter next week (or two chapters?)

Dr. Stone 57

Suika is amazed at how the telescope lets her see so far, Senkuu warning her not to point it at the sun

The scheelite glows blue as expected, though Kokuyou, Kohaku and Ruri’s father, doesn’t understand why they need the stones, thinking they’re for throwing.

Gen and Senkuu reiterate that with this tungsten in the scheelite, they can make the vacuum tube resistant to the heat it generates so they can make the cellphone

Kohaku asks how they’ll get it out, but before Senkuu can explain, Magma starts smashing it, which Senkuu admits is part of the process, though Ruri and Kohaku think he was a bit too reckless

Kokuyou is impressed that Magma is willingly cooperating, Senkuu not saying what happened in the cave

Afterwards, they take the blue dust and Senkuu does some process that Gen says they wouldn’t understand anyway. The last step is to remove the impurities with hydrogen and they’ll have tungsten

To do that, they need to heat it up, but in such a way that they don’t damage the glass container, needing more precise equipment. Senkuu suggests splitting up the work, Chrome tasked with making the equipment with his scientific skills

Kaseki says he’s jealous of them, having worked alone as a craftsman from an early age, but not having anyone that was a kindred spirit. Chrome says he and Senkuu are like his crafting friends. This makes his overjoyed and crying in happiness

Senkuu tries to explain the process of preparing the crushed scheelite, but Gen only understands the mixing with honey at the end.

Chrome reveals his plan, using a lens like the tactic he managed to win against Magma in the tournament with. But it needs more power generated to increase the heat it produces, even Kohaku and Magma’s power only getting to iron’s temperature. Chrome decides to throw in electric power to increase the intensity of the heat as well

As Senkuu and Gen come back with the scheelite mixture they refer to as like toothpaste, Chrome reveals the setup, Senkuu saying it’ll work great, since the electrified water creates hydrogen that will remove the impurities

The chapter concludes as we see that with everyone combining their efforts, they’ve finally acquired a tungsten filament for the cellphone

We Can’t Study 61

The chapter starts after a popularity poll where Mafuyu placed first, Fumino losing that place by over 1K votes.

Rizu and Fumino, along with Yuiga, are going to do mock interviews for university, though it’s especially nerve-wracking for Rizu, socially awkward as she is.

Fumino and Yuiga try to make her feel better, Fumino bringing up that they’ll be interviewing with Fujita-sensei, a nice math teacher.

But it turns out that Mafuyu has to substitute for Fujita sensei, who has fallen ill. Fumino and Rizu almost bolt, going to get udon instead, but Yuiga stops them

Rizu is first, explaining that she wants to study psychology to help her better understand human social complexities.

Mafuyu seems to praise her at first, but then brings up that she doesn’t appear to have a solid career plan in mind and that she might do better in math or science, Rizu freezing up

Fumino does a bit better, but Mafuyu brings up similar shortcomings that she has, such as not being able to apply her subjects she excels in to her studies in astronomy

Both of them are despondent after the interviews, Yuiga trying to cheer them up

He’s drawn into the interview next by Mafuyu, who quickly advises him about posture and such being just as important as your answers in the interview itself

Yuiga tries to calm down by imagining Mafuyu in her jersey, but instead sees her in her school swimsuit, then changing to the maid outfit instead as he panics, the outfits changing more and ending on a Chinese qipao dress.

Mafuyu asks him why he wants to go to the university and he answers adequately, but when she inquires about his strengths, he answers with something unrelated to studying, which Mafuyu quickly rejects. She emphasizes that he needs to answer based on something that will make the university interested in admitting him

Yuiga says he may not have anything he’s good at, starting to leave. But Mafuyu stops him, saying that his willingness to accept his faults and improve himself from them may be seen as a sort of strength itself, his tutoring a testament to that. Yuiga leaves, Mafuyu thinking that question for interviews is problematic, since even adults don’t necessarily know their own strengths

The chapter ends as Fumino and Rizu are more determined to ace their next interviews, Yuiga thinking to himself that Mafuyu has been the only one to point out that he has a talent for improving himself after recognizing his weakness besides his late father.

Black Clover 155

As Klaus and Hamon are defeated, Rhya is impressed, especially with Yuno not having awakened even though the reincarnation magic has increased his overall abilities, though it makes both him and Asta a formidable team

But as Patri sees his allies beaten, Licht appears to awaken, using sheer mana concentration to levitate them and himself into the air. He manifests a sword, similar to Asta’s in how black it is, but that starts to come off, glowing white.

Yuno warns Asta about the mana power emitting from the sword, the wave of power knocking them back.

Asta is ready to fight back, but Licht moves faster than even his ki detection can perceive, touching his magic absorption sword and making it become white as well. He blasts them back with another wave of mana, using a series of cutting techniques, taking Asta’s sword in the process

Asta is wounded, barely able to stand, Yuno utilizing one of Sylph’s magic attacks, but Licht uses the Demon Dwelling sword to absorb it and turn it back on Yuno

Yuno then tries an attack from behind Licht using Mana Zone, Licht stabbing it with one of the swords

But as he’s distracted, Asta rushes at him from behind Yuno, ready to attack in a combo with Yuno as the chapter ends

One Piece 904

We see that the Revolutionary Army has been forced to move their headquarters to Kamabakka Kingdom. Some of the executives are late, but Sabo and Dragon decide to move ahead with their plans, which involve attacking Reverie as a way of declaring war on the Celestial Dragons

Meanwhile in the Kingdom of Lulusia, Pinkbeard, given that title by Blackbeard, is attacking, telling his men to search for the Celestial Gold he hears about that the town gives to the Celestial Dragons

But suddenly a Giant bursts from the ground called Morley, hinted at before by Sabo as a Revolutionary, along with Belo Betty, Lindbergh and Karasu, the 4 leaders of the armies from the 4 Cardinal Directions

The commanders, using their various abilities, help the people to fight against them, Belo Betty’s Cheer Cheer Fruit letting her bring out courage in them, while the others utilize inventions or Devil Fruit abilities.

The chapter concludes as they move to meet up with Sabo and Dragon, as we’re told Reverie is still in 2 days.

Boku no Hero Academia 182

We flashback to when Deku arrived at the cultural festival, Aoyama wondering what happened. Deku is told by Ectoplasm he needs to clean up a bit, not wanting to worry the audience

Aizawa and Present Mic are in the audience, Aizawa commenting that some of the viewers are upperclassmen who want to be critical of Class 1-A. We see a few commenting that this feels like self satisfaction for the class of up and coming Heroes

But when the performance starts, people are amazed, the beginning explosive with Bakugou and Jirou’s Quirks aiding in that effect

Deku and Aoyama do a slight variation on their routine, Aoyama’s Quirk letting him do what people say is like human fireworks, Eri amazed at it when it happens

Everyone combines their efforts to make an even more amazing finale, Uraraka even floating people into the air with her Quirk, Sero keeping them stable with his tape

Jirou remembers how she told her parents that she wanted to be a Hero rather than a musician, but they accept it, saying that the two aren’t entirely different, both something that can help others

Eri, in spite of Chisaki’s hold on her mind, is able to break free for a moment, smiling and crying out in happiness at the performance as the chapter ends

Seven Deadly Sins 265

The chapter starts with a flashback of Elizabeth meeting Estarossa when he was younger (though he looks a lot like Meliodas in the present), asking if he had a fight with his older brother again. Estarossa says he’s an embarrassment, since he’s so weak.

Elizabeth picks up a dog that had been injured, now recovered and happy. Estarossa says he will become strong and end this war. He thinks to himself that he’d always loved Elizabeth, likely because of the kindness she showed him.

But as we continue forward, Estarossa happy to be acknowledged by Meliodas as they fought together and then discovering that Meliodas was Elizabeth’s lover, we learn Estarossa wanted to be his brother, jealous of him, maybe even resenting him.

In the present we see Estarossa again claim he is Meliodas, Elizabeth confused, since she seems to remember him, but can’t recall from where, possibly because he and Meliodas looked so similar in the past.

Estarossa says he’s happy to see Elizabeth, Guila moving to protect her. He tells Derriere that he’s here to take her Commandment. Derriere tells the others that Estarossa already has 3 Commandments, which would have normally killed him except that he’s managed to retain his form somehow as the son of the Demon King like Zeldris and Meliodas are.

He rushes at Derriere, Guila unleashing an attack to stop him. The explosion still hasn’t cleared, but Diane senses danger, making a Diamond Shield in front of them to stop the Demon’s attack

King throws Chastiefol’s spear form at Estarossa as well, but we see that Derriere is somehow attacked and the shield is slashed in half, Guila wounded by the attack as well and Estarossa unaffected by King’s attack

Sariel and Tarmiel combine their efforts, slashing Estarossa from both sides, but he spins his body around, slashing them in return

.

He tells Elizabeth he wants to be somewhere quieter, threatening to kill everyone around him.

But Elizabeth tells Diane and King to stop, that she’ll go with Estarossa.

The chapter ends as Estarossa flies off with Elizabeth, the situation growing worse for the battle between the brothers as well as the Goddess Alliance and the Demon Clan.
