Dr. Stone 52

Senkuu tells the others how he and Gen are thinking they only have a few months until Tsukasa attacks with his full force, not wanting to wait too long, but also wanting to have a sizeable force

We see Tsukasa and Hyouga discussing how there’s a tactical advantage to Ishigami Village in the winter with the lake freezing around the islands, making it difficult to siege. So they decide to attack at the end of winter instead

Taiju and Yuzuriha will be monitored by Tsukasa and Hyouga, thinking that even if they are double agents, they can’t hope to communicate with Senkuu, Homura the source of information for Tsukasa and Hyouga, however delayed it is, since they don’t have the ambitions of Senkuu to make a radio/phone

Senkuu emphasizes that they need to make the phone by spring for their preemptive strike on Tsukasa

There’s a brief scene where Ginrou is told that there are still imperfections in the cotton candy, frustrated as he breaks character, not wanting to be the buffoon, since he’s worried about the imminent attack from Tsukasa’s army

Now that they know there are variations in the cotton candy, they can figure out how to fix them before they spin the gold wire. The problem is discovered by Chrome, the force of the rotation stopping abruptly because of how they’re spinning it with Kinrou and Ginrou’s combined efforts.

Kokuyou says they can’t afford to put in too much effort with the science work, since they’re also stockpiling for the winter.

Senkuu then decides they need to make a gear, noting that Kohaku’s shield is the perfect material.

Ginrou thinks it might not be a good idea, since it’s a memento from Kokuyou to his daughter Kohaku, but she reveals she doesn’t care that much, even though he seems to value it

The gear makes work much easier, Chrome having a moment of inspiration, thinking of a connection to the electricity they developed before, telling Kaseki about it as they work furiously

Senkuu explains that they need to spin the gold wire to an exceptional distance, to a mountain a ways from the village. They recruit the children to help, since the adults are doing winter preparations otherwise.

After 3 days and nights, we see that Chrome and Kaseki have completed a waterwheel, Senkuu impressed, though he already knows what it is, even though Chrome was hoping to impress him with something novel.

Senkuu and Gen piece together that with the gear and the waterwheel, they’ve advanced to the point that pure human effort has been superseded by machine power, making a sort of generator, the chapter ending on this revelation

We Can’t Study 56

Mafuyu is teaching how to better memorize things by associating it with information we already know, retaining it in your long term memory. Fumino is falling asleep in class, Mafuyu scolding her for that.

But Mafuyu, short on sleep herself, is putting together a small test, taking longer than expected. When her computer turns off, the battery dead, she’s forced to pull an all-nighter to recoup her efforts.

She nearly falls asleep in class, banging her head on the blackboard, worried that someone might have seen her.

At lunch, Mafuyu is still dragging on, hoping that afternoon classes will be easier, since she’ll be talking.

But it turns out the headmaster is going to do an assembly in the afternoon, droning on to a point that Mafuyu starts to fall asleep. Suddenly, Yuiga sneezes, snapping her out of her slumber, though she thinks it was probably coincidence that he did that, not to help her exactly

Mafuyu is home, ready to sleep, but finds that she doesn’t have her house key in her jacket.

Yuiga finds her searching for her house key, suggesting she search her bag again. She finds the house key in a USB storage case, since she was trying to remember the flash drive with the test on it that morning and replaced the key where the flash drive was.

Mafuyu spins this as a way to remember the lesson regarding memorization and associating it with previously known information, Yuiga accepting this.

Yuiga is about to leave Mafuyu, but notices that she fell asleep at the entryway. He takes her inside, embarrassed at having to hold her and all.

The chapter ends as Mafuyu wakes up in her bed, confused as to how she got there.

Black Clover 151

Rill, called Rila by Rhya, embraces his fellow elf, not recognizing Asta at all

Zora and Mereoleona think that this is dangerous, especially since not only are these clearly different people that are talking to them now, but their already amazing magic power is further enhanced now.

Asta tries to sway Rila, but he insists he wouldn’t have any human friends, attacking with his Four Headed Lindwurm

Zora activates a massive field of traps, Rhya saying it won’t stop them.

Rila is irritated by this, but says that they can still sense mana so it’ll be fine.

Zora retorts that they’re fighting someone with no magic power at all, Asta using his antimagic form to strike away Rila’s magic, landing a hit on him, even though it’s weakened by the elf pulling himself away with a harpy he summoned

However, to Asta and Zora’s shock, the magic isn’t released, Rhya revealing that this is advanced magic, the eventual housing of the elf soul in the human body making it permanent so that it can’t be reversed

More of the Magic Knights appear, including Paulie from Luck’s team in the Royal Knight’s exam, Mereoleona and Zora thinking there’s no way they can fight them all, every one of their opponents much stronger than before

Zora tells Asta they need to retreat and find a way to help their friends, thinking Asta wouldn’t be willing to kill his friends

However, Mereoleona makes her own decision, smashing the wall behind her and throwing Asta and Zora out, saying she’ll stay behind to let them escape, Rhya commenting as much, thinking it’s odd that a human would think about their comrades so deeply

The chapter ends as Mereoleona says she didn’t do it out of sentiment, claiming they’d just get in her way, planning to kill them all instead.

Boku no Hero Academia 177

La Brava tells a bystander in the area that the fight is just part of a film shooting, thinking to herself that Gentle needs to retreat, their plan a failure

Deku remembers how Hatsume’s item is meant to supplement his Shoot Style, thanking her as well as Ashido, her dance training helping him to think in a different way for fighting against Gentle

The Gentle Criminal is stuck on a girder, hanging by his tailcoat, insisting he won’t give up on his plan, though Deku says he won’t let him succeed either

Gentle insists he’s different from the Villain Alliance, just wanting to execute his invasion of UA, Deku saying that he doesn’t want the cultural festival to be cancelled. But Gentle retorts that La Brava will make the alarms ineffective, so there’s no need to worry.

Deku tries to bluff Gentle, saying he’s already been reported and claims he’ll hold him off until the Heroes arrive.

Gentle bounces himself free and, making the girders elastic with his Quirk, bounces around the structure, Deku unable to predict his movements to attack

Deku is struck by an air barrier created by Gentle, La Brava still trying to convince her idol to give up, but he isn’t discouraged

He explains to Deku that his Quirk has to wear off on the objects he imbues with elasticity, the girder that he affected slowly regaining its rigidity, but also starting to collapse.

The old man nearby is watching the scene, Deku moving to stop the girder as it falls

Gentle said he didn’t intend to make it so dangerous, but he says he must continue his plan, elasticizing a crane to serve as a catapult for him and La Brava, leaving Deku to bear that weight as Deku thinks he has to act soon

Meanwhile back at UA, it’s 15 minutes until the cultural festival starts, everyone getting ready in 1-A

As Gentle and La Brava are launched towards the school, Deku manages to hold up the beam with one arm, attacking with a wind pressure blast from the other, which Gentle bounces away with an air barrier

The chapter concludes as La Brava says Deku is persistent and decides she has to use her Quirk

One Piece 900

Big Mom is eating the cake, gobbling it with gusto as Chiffon sees her enthusiasm, remembering how Sanji was thinking about what Big Mom’s face would be like as she was enjoying his creation, even though everyone was in danger.

As Big Mom pauses, Perospero worries the poison might be kicking in, but Big Mom has tears in her eyes, the flavor so great that she feels she could die right now

Perospero reports the situation to the rest of Totland as Big Mom continues to eat the cake

Jinbe’s crew makes a path for Luffy and the others to get through, the former Warlord happy how his comrades are still assisting him even now

Oven comes out of the Mirror World, Brulee having provided bullets that can harm the Germa 66 as he uses Hot Sea Hell again, weakening the Fishmen in the ocean

But things change as Big Mom’s biggest ship, the Queen Mama Chanter, arrives, as the Yonkou sings about the amazing flavor the cake has, reminding her of the time when she was with Mother Carmel and her friends

The tides turn in Big Mom’s favor, Germa 66 on the ropes and as the chapter ends, it seems that even the Straw Hats have been taken out by the Chanter, their tattered flag floating in the ocean

One Piece is on break next week

Seven Deadly Sins 260

Derriere tells Monspiet that she doesn’t feel confident in being a Ten Commandment anymore. She remembers how the war cost everyone the lives of many fellow Demons as well as Derriere’s older sister.

But the Purity also wonders if what she was taught was absolutely right, since Elizabeth, one of the Goddess Clan, saved them when they became their Indra forms, and humans rescued them when they were nearly killed by Meliodas.

Monspiet is happy that she’s opening up, not being very willing to talk after her sister died. Derriere tells him that her sister loved Monspiet, though the Reticence seems to imply he loves Derriere instead.

But before that conversation can proceed, the human that’s been keeping them safe bursts in, saying they’re in danger before the human is vaporized to dust by Estarossa

Derriere tries to attack, but Estarossa’s Physical Full Counter repels her attack.

Estarossa moves to eat the soul of the human, but before he can, Monspiet switches it with an apple, telling Derriere to take the soul and run.

Derriere releases the soul, turning back to fight, but Monspiet says she can’t win against Estarossa’s Physical Full Counter

Estarossa grabs Monspiet, preparing to snap his neck as he reveals he’s come to take their Commandments. Derriere stops him, saying they intended to give them up anyway, though they still don’t understand why Estarossa needs them now.

The Love says that he intends to take them by force and use their power along with those that Meliodas and Zeldris have to become even more powerful.

Monspiet is getting pressured by Estarossa’s grip on his neck, but he tells him that there’s a secret about him that everyone knows except him

The two are switched by Monspiet’s Conjurer’s Trick, the Reticence now having the advantage over Estarossa as he continues to reveal what he and the others know

Estarossa, in spite of being the Demon King’s son, was not born with the power of darkness as his brothers were, but his father gave him a Commandment to try and give him a chance. It awakened the abilities of darkness and hellfire, but it also drove Estarossa slowly insane, Monspiet claiming that if he absorbed any more Commandments, then he would be utterly destroyed

The Love appears to fall unconscious from the hold that Monspiet had him in, Derriere walking up

But before Monspiet can fully warn her, Estarossa awakens and rushes to attack her.

The chapter ends as Monspiet switches places with Derriere, taking the attack, his final heart ripped out by Estarossa before he can tell Derriere his feelings.
