Fairy Tail chapter seems to have been delayed, so we’ll hopefully have 2 next week

Seven Deadly Sins 74

King reveals Chastiefol’s 8th form, Pollen Garden, which protected Diane. Hauser’s wounds are healing, King explaining that the Sacred Tree creates pollen to slowly heal itself, taking centuries. He notes that they were lucky the group was in proximity to Diane, but Guira says that King was protecting everyone, even slightly, commenting on how foolishly selfless the Sins seem to be.

King explains that the Sacred Tree doesn’t exist for evil purposes, so he can draw out more power than Helbram, who uses it for his own selfish reasons, not to protect others.  He asks Helbram if he intends to continue his slaughter, Helbram speaking as if he’s compelled, not that he wants to.

Using his Link power, along with his own ability or magic of Blind Follow, he draws all the powers from those he’s linked to.

The two pose for battle, King with Chastiefol in spear form and Helbram spinning multiple swords around. They’re evenly matched, but King seems to have the overall advantage, Helbram struggling before King finishes him off, destroying the item that allows him to Link to others in the process.

Helbram thinks that their plan can still work, since they’re so close to unleashing the seal of the Demon Clan. He collapses, King getting near him. The two have a poignant moment, Helbram explaining that the helmet he has was a present he got for King in the human world. The chapter ends as King leaves Helbram to die, the helmet on his corpse as he moves to save Elizabeth, Diane recovered, thanks to Chastiefol’s power.

Magi 222.5

This week is a shorter omake-esque chapter, next week is a double issue, so the chapter might be a bit longer to compensate.

Because Aladdin’s power of Solomon’s Wisdom is only able to show things recorded by the Rukh’s White Flow, there are events in the other world that he cannot show, so we’re going to see some of them.

We see David looking into the great flow of the Rukh and recording it, deranged by what he sees.

He explains that he, having achieved a level of power unheard of before, is nearly able to see the future: or at the very least, see things in a way that is near god like in predictive power. He despairs at this power, not even caring about his son being born beyond that his existence is a necessary one. Everyone else seems like lesser beings to him, ignorant of this great truth.

David is convinced he has been given a special task by “God”. His mission is to become like God, to govern things on the human level. The goal seems to be similar to Magnostadt in that it’s a world ruled by magicians. He strove to extend his lifespan through various means.

Solomon, to David, is just another piece in the puzzle he still doesn’t completely understand. He thinks Solomon may continue his mission, though it may also go in a different direction. His fatalistic beliefs are emphasized over and over throughout this wall of text, his writings he left behind, unable to go against the flow of destiny.

The chapter ends on David closing the book and appearing satisfied.

World Trigger 57

The revelation that Kazama Bailed Out amazes the others, since he’s the #2 strongest in Border. Kikuchihara and Narasaka still want to fight, but Kazama advises against it, since his squad is all Attackers. They think there must be more to it, a Trion source they can target.

They’re convinced by Kazama to retreat, since Bailing Out delays your ability to return to battle more than simply leaving the battle physically.

Ko Murakami, of the squad who first learned about the cube transformation of those captured by the new Rabits, tries to fight off the new models to leave others time to escape.

But Tachikawa comes in, revealing an extension of Kogetsu called Whirlwind, which expends Trion to lengthen the blade temporarily. He defeats the Rabits, Shinoda directing him to take over Kazama squad’s duty of protecting the civilians and trainees, defeating the Trion soldiers.

Jin appears where Osamu and Yuma are, asking to borrow Yuma. He explains that he’s worried about Chika and Osamu. His Side Effect is telling him there are some possible futures, some of them very bad. The chapter ends as he explains that the worst one is not Chika being kidnapped, but Osamu dying.

Naruto 674

Madara unleashes a Lightning based attack, Naruto throwing one of his black staves at it, holding it off. Sasuke utilizes his Rinnegan, disappearing and reappearing behind Madara.

Naruto leaps forward to attack, Madara attacking with Limbo and Naruto holding it back with his other staff.  Madara attacks with a Storm Release technique, which Naruto dodges, Sasuke throwing a blade at Madara, which seems to miss. Madara has become seemingly imperceptible, Naruto only able to sense him, but Sasuke able to see him fine.

Sasuke realizes there are two Madaras, one that’s untouchable and almost imperceptible through Limbo and the physical one we see. Madara comprehends that the two of them can perceive his Limbo self, particularly Sasuke, so he goes to steal Sasuke’s left eye. But Sasuke’s sword stabs into Madara, Sasuke telling Naruto to see if he can kill Madara like that. We see that Sasuke attacked the Limbo Madara and that it returns to his original body after a certain period of time, so Sasuke and Naruto will team up against those two Madaras the next time he does it.

The plan is to seal his movements while he and his Limbo self are still overlapped, Shukaku volunteering to use his sand attacks to do so. Naruto utilizes a Magnet Release Rasengan, Sasuke saying he should fire it at him. Sasuke utilizes Six Path’s chakra as well, making his Chidori sage based. The two do a pincer attack on Madara, but he substituted his Limbo self, escaping in the process.

He steals Kakashi’s Sharingan, inserting it so he can start to activate a new Rinnegan.

Obito asks Sakura to destroy his Rinnegan, preventing Madara from using his full power.

Sasuke attacks, having gotten to Madara’s location quickly. He slashes Madara in half as the chapter ends on Madara teleporting into the Kamui dimension with Kakashi’s eye and attacking Sakura as she’s moving to destroy Obito’s Rinnegan.

One Piece 745

We see the people in charge of the Smile factory slightly concerned, but are quickly reassured that they’re in no danger, since the walls are made of Seastone, plus Trebol and Diamante are protecting them.

Robin meets up with her Revolutionary comrades, introducing them to Usopp. Meanwhile, Kinemon is still trying to pass himself off as Doflamingo and Zoro has gotten lost again, as usual.

Doflamingo, still beheaded, taunts Kyros, who attacks. But the real Doflamingo appears behind him, trying to behead him in turn. Luffy pushes Kyros down, both of them dodging the attack that cuts most of the top of the building they’re in off (which I’d think would hurt Pica in a way if he’s fused with the presumably stone building).

We see that there are two Doflamingos, attacking in unison, which Luffy manages to dodge. He counterattacks Doflamingo, who manages to defend himself with Armament Haki. He attacks Luffy from behind with his beheaded clone and then punches Luffy with Armament Haki from the front.

The others speculate that the fake Doflamingo is a marionette made of string, which is why it was able to keep talking after being decapitated. Doflamingo says that he’s planned something worse than making King Riku kill his own citizens and burn his city to the ground, telling Pica to get everyone not associated with him out of the building, Pica grabbing them with a stone hand and tossing them away.

Luffy and the others realize they’re virtually back where they started. Law explains the basic idea of Bird Cage, Doflamingo intending to kill everyone on the island before the truth can be revealed to those outside the island.

As people are running away, they’re stopped by a fence of Doflamingo’s strings that cuts like a knife, keeping them captured in the city. Doflamingo also uses Parasite to control the soldiers and make them destroy the buildings and slaughter people around them.

Pica, with his Devil Fruit power, moves the Royal Palace further away, keeping it out of the range of anyone. The Smile Factory and Flower Hills are also being moved, the chapter ending on them and Doflamingo giving a final ultimatum: the people can try to kill him in the Royal Palace or they can kill the people he’ll list and be paid handsomely for it.

Toriko 275

Toriko and Coco are divided on whether they believe the Real Mist to be real food or not, the frog’s offer still standing. Toriko enjoys it, Coco tentatively eating as the frog further explains that the Gourmet World is never what you expect, letting go of previous expectations to find new realizations.

Coco inquires about Real Mist, the frog explaining that it’s another weather pattern of Gourmet World, creating new sensory experiences, particularly of taste. Toriko apologizes about shooting the laser at the frog before, but observes that he didn’t dodge it this time. He’s been observing things since they started and realizes that this isn’t the frog he saw before. The frog starts to decay and fall over dead, a voice saying that they could just as easily die as eat when surrounded by Real Mist.

Komatsu is getting data from Toriko’s wristband through the Riddle Chapter and Sani continues to worry about them, since they’re surrounded.

Back in the Real Mist, the proprietor of the restaurant says they’ll pay in blood, but even the “frog” before them wasn’t enough. Another beast attacks Toriko and Coco from above, the pair dodging. More of the same Heel Leech appears, surrounding them.

Toriko reacts as if he’s being affected like the frog was, tearing off his clothes to find the same leech that was attacking the frog. He’s covered in countless leeches, starting to faint as the Real Mist dissipates. Coco confirms it was illusory and the leeches didn’t attack him because he was much more poisonous than Toriko.

Coco starts to fight them, throwing out Poison Boomerangs: but one of the leeches grabs his foot from below him and attacks, but Coco reveals both he and Toriko have been Poison Dolls, so they were never in any real danger.  Poison Mist is released and the Heel Leeches all disintegrate.

Toriko and Coco discuss it, the Poison Life technique allowing Coco to create near perfect replicas of two people, though that’s his limit. Sani’s feelers he left with them were warning them, the true leader of the island, the Wanyuudou from before that Zebra attacked and others like him, appearing as the chapter ends on Toriko preparing to fight.

Bleach 578

Gremmy is dumbfounded that Kenpachi smashed the meteor into pieces with a single blow. He even says Kenpachi’s a complete monster, Kenpachi responding that it’s not complicated: he can cut anything.  Suddenly, he’s surrounded by even more copies of Gremmy, Kenpachi thinking that won’t work. But Gremmy says he’ll summon something with no form, so Kenpachi can’t cut it.

Kenpachi’s put into what amounts to a vacuum of space, the effects devastating on his body. Gremmy thinks there’s no way he can survive this, but Kenpachi manages to slash him in half, reminding the Quincy that he forgot to harden his body.

Gremmy’s copies pile onto Kenpachi and self destruct, but Kenpachi still manages to survive, albeit badly burned. Gremmy says now he just has to become stronger than even a monster. The Visionary is so focused on winning, something so new to him, that he doesn’t realize Kenpachi’s cut him again.

The chapter ends on Kenpachi saying that since he imagined Kenpachi to be a monster, his power backfired on him and he lost.

Seven Deadly Sins 73.5

This is going to be a doozy: at least double the length of a normal chapter. Also, Seven Deadly Sins will be getting an anime adaptation, which is exciting for me as a fan.

Ages ago, the human and fairy kingdom made a treaty of noninterference. But it was partly based on the immense power King had under the name Harlequin

Diane sneaks up on King, scaring him with a prank. They talk about his dreams, King seeming like he forgot he was the fairy king. Diane rescued him when he was unconscious on a riverbank and she and King became friends, since Diane was alone for so long, only able to make golems for friends.

The next day, King finds Diane talking with a human. He tells her not to trust humans, which she inquires further about. We flashback to King and Helbram’s past, Helbram wanting to engage with humans, but King not interested. King confirms he has amnesia, slowly remembering things, like his original name and his friend.

Diane’s sick with a fever and King goes to get herbs, but Diane stops him, not wanting to be alone. We flashback to King leaving the forest in his sister’s hands to find Helbram. King wakes up, remembering his sister as the human from before comes in. He helps make medicine for Diane. King thanks him, the time passing for him slower than for the human, which was years ago

Diane and King are playing tag, Diane’s clothes ripped off. King helps her by tying her hair up in her usual pigtails and giving her the clothes she wears now, promising to teach her later.

King flashes back again, remembering that his job was to protect the Fairy Forest, mulling on that.

King and Diane find a village, discovering that the human from before is long dead and his grandchild is now an adult, meaning at least 30-50 years have passed. The two of them think about how short humans’ lives are compared to theirs and Diane asks King to always love her, since marriage is a foreign concept to them and a human practice. The fact that they can live for hundreds of years without significant aging does make it a bit redundant.

We flashback again after King sees the merchant’s carriage that goes to the village they were at, Helbram kidnapped by a man that looks like the human form he took for a long time.

King awakens, remembering everything: who he was, where he lived, what happened to Helbram, and how he came to be found by Diane. The village nearby is on fire, King going there, promising to reunite with Diane. Helbram reveals he’s taken on the form of the human who captured him. Helbram says it’s because he thought Harlequin was dead by a human, so he takes on that form to remind him of his hatred for humans. The humans tricked him and his friends to kill them for their wings, Helbram resenting them for their pettiness. He’s been killing humans for 500 years, aiming to eliminate them all for their horrible treatment of the fairies, torturing them to get the wings off without damaging them.

King seemingly kills Helbram by throwing a rose through his chest, apologizing and desiring to repent for his sin of leaving Helbram to suffer for so long without knowing.

King later claims he committed the murders, taken in by the humans and charged with this sin, imprisonment for a millennium the initial punishment, likely changed when he joined the Seven Deadly Sins.

The chapter ends as Diane, put to sleep by King, wakes up and remembers his scent as she wanders alone again.

Magi 22

The Origin Dragon, specifically the Mother Dragon in this case, asks Solomon what he wants. Sheba reflects on how long lived this species is, 8000 years, amazed at the area around it, which seems lonely somehow. She even notices Solomon seems nervous.

We flashback to Sheba demanding to meet the Dragon in place of Arba. They explain that it’s dangerous, since it’s in the Continental Rift, like the one in the present world: light doesn’t reach into it and the Orthodoxy told children it was a place Ill Irah had forsaken. But Ugo says it’s just incomplete: the laws of physics don’t work the same there, implying Ill Irah seemed to stop halfway in creating the world. They leap in, Solomon’s staff keeping them safe.

It’s told to Sheba that there were two species that were resistant to the mind manipulation magic: the Red Lions of the Isteqa continent (the true form of the Fanalis Mu spoke of?) and the Mother Dragons. There’s only one Mother Dragon left, happy to see Solomon.

She says Solomon once was obedient to David, subjugating the other species. David was the one who developed the Gunud (the mind control magic) 500 years ago, Ugo explaining that David is over 800 years old. Sheba thinks this is why Solomon feels most responsible for undoing the damage the Orthodox have done. She encourages Solomon, saying that they’ll never betray him (nullified by the sad truth that one of them will in the future)

Solomon was saved by the Mother Dragon, since he wasn’t blessed by the Divine Staff. She slowly taught him and he began to realize the error of his father’s ways.

The Mother Dragon says she has seen the world from its beginning and the destruction and recreation over time makes the lives of humans seem like blinks: the world itself an instant to Ill Irah, but something else even higher than Ill Irah apparently exists.

She then notes that the world’s lifespan is reaching its end: 800 years ago, Ill Irah was white and pure, but over 800 years, humans have stolen magoi constantly and “God” is losing power, eventually to the point where the world will lose its life.

But Ugo’s confused at this, Solomon saying that God may not have had a will and people likely distorted what the true meaning of the gift of magoi from Ill Irah was. Ugo wonders what Solomon’s talking about, that thread dropping for now.

The conclusion is made that since the natural way of magic is just borrowing from the natural phenomena in the world that something is going beyond that and venturing into the realm of God itself. Someone is reaching such a level that they would kill God by draining its very power. The chapter ends of Ugo and Solomon saying there’s only one person besides Solomon that has that kind of power, David.

Next chapter will start a special arc, possibly going back to explaining David’s plans: likely involving Black Rukh

World Trigger 56

We learn that Kikuchihara (not Mikami, who’s the Operator for Kazama squad), has a Side Effect of enhanced hearing. It’s low ranking by Border standards, which ranks them from C-Enhanced senses to S-Extra Sensory Perception. Kazama thinks it has potential, Usami, their Operator back then, saying that she can transmit his auditory data, giving Kazama’s squad an advantage over the others. They rise to A rank quickly, since they were able to overcome the difficulty of fighting against a newly developed Chameleon Trigger at the time.

In the present, the team is easily dodging Endra’s attacks, Endra realizing they’re fighting by sensing the sound properties of his Trigger, which liquefies and seeps into places. He spreads the sounds around, but Kikuchihara is able to pinpoint the attacks with his Side Effect’s precision of hearing and they move forward to attack, dodging the real attacks.

Endra, frustrated at their tactics, unleashes his full power, hundreds of blades bursting everywhere. Kazama manages to slice off Endra’s head, the group thinking he’s done. But he returns his head to his body, the true nature of the Trigger being that it’s his entire body.

But Endra reveals his body doesn’t liquefy, Kazama spitting out blood as Mikami finds out that Endra’s forming Trion blades inside Kazama’s body, slowly killing him.

Endra compliments them on having a plan, but says it’s pointless to fight him, since he’s a Black Trigger. He defeats Kazama, who bails out as the chapter ends with Kikuchihara and Utagawa left to fight Endra.

Naruto 673

Madara’s confused, the chakra at Gai’s heart gate not disappearing. Naruto moves to attack, Madara turning the Truth Seeking Orb that Naruto kicked away into a blade. But Naruto slams him into the tree, Madara thinking he still hasn’t recovered. He realizes, however, that Naruto’s overall power has increased.

Naruto draws out some of Son Goku’s power, combining his Rasen Shuriken with the Four Tail’s Lava Release. Madara counters with his Limbo attack, but Naruto dodges, sending his attack at Madara. It cuts the tree down and Madara is heavily damaged.

The ten Tail’s chakra inside the tree talks to Madara, telling him to absorb all of its power. Madara does this as Naruto gets Gai away from the tree, which disappears suddenly.

Naruto tells Lee Gai’s in no danger of dying, which really takes any sting out of his making a sacrifice.

Sasuke pulls the black rod out of Tobirama, who realizes something. He explains he can still teleport people with Minato’s seals, but he can only do one person with the power he has now. Sasuke says he’ll be enough.

Madara, having absorbed the Ten Tails, is now ready to start his final plans.

Naruto moves to fight Madara, Gaara vowing to become sworn sake brothers with him (like in NuraMago, sort of)

Kakashi sees Naruto, realizing Obito’s sacrifice. Obito is talking to Sakura, who thanks him even though he was once her enemy. Obito has a final request of her.

Naruto can now sense the other half of Hagoromo’s chakra in Madara. Madara says he can’t be defeated now, Naruto retorting that he and Sasuke will defeat him together.

Madara reveals that Naruto has Hagoromo’s senjutsu and Sasuke has awakened the Rinnegan, the chapter ending on him saying he has both and will defeat their teamwork.

Toriko 274

The group is falling through the clouds, not making landfall on the Gourmet World yet. Quinn pops out and keeps the group from falling by grabbing onto a cliff, but Torpedo Sausage (flying sharks, basically), start biting at Quinn’s body. But she perseveres, Kiss flying in to stop them. A beast that’s as strong as the Four Beast, at capture level 255, appears and starts attacking the Torpedo Sausage.

Zebra thinks the Gourmet World is boring, but a voice comes from the clouds, appearing as a Wanyuudo, a face on a spoked wheel. It summons clouds to pull Toriko and Coco away, Zebra attacking it, but it constantly dodges. Sani’s Dining Kitchen cant’ even reach it, as they’re just out of its range. Terry moves to attack, but Toriko says they’ll be fine. He urges Terry to protect the others.

Toriko tells Zebra to use a barrier, Komatsu wondering why they aren’t going after them. Zebra reminds him that their goal is to survive and trying to save them might kill everyone.

Komatsu tries to communicate with the Riddle Chapter (the new capture level measuring device), but the fog is blocking reception.  Sani thought something like this would happen, so he put a tracker on them in the form of his Remote Hair.

Toriko and Coco are trying to get out of the fog, both Coco’s sight and Toriko’s smell sensing real food. They find a huge place with restaurant stalls lining the streets. The food’s all real too. The frog from before explains that it’s Real Mist, neither fake nor real.  He says it depends on you believing in it to be eaten, offering them a seat next to him.

The chapter ends as Sani senses something bad’s happening.

Bleach 577

Bazz B sees the meteor and immediately concludes Gremmy has done something crazy, annoyed at how quickly Gremmy jumped to an attack that’d kill everyone. Everyone else in Soul Society is looking on in fear or awe. Askin thinks to himself that Gremmy’s not all there and that they should’ve killed him when they had the chance. A Soul Reaper is confident the Shakonmaku that surrounds Seireitei will protect them, but the meteor smashes through, the threat still imminent. Jugram tells the Soldat to protect Juhabach, who’s looking on seemingly unaffected.

Gremmy explains that even if he’s killed, the meteorite remains a reality. He insists he’ll be the last one standing, saying Kenpachi has no way of winning.

But Kenpachi isn’t fazed, saying Gremmy’s no longer a threat, since he’s used all of his power and still hasn’t made him hesitate at all. He leaps up, releasing his Zanpakutou with the command “drink”

We flash back to Kenpachi meeting Yachiru as she remembers this, meaning it’s important in some way unknown to us.

The chapter ends as we see Kenpachi’s release form, a giant axe.

Fairy Tail 381

Sayla has seemingly lost control after transforming into her demon form, attacking everyone in sight. Mira’s amazed at the power, thinking there’s no way they could win unless Take Over works. Sayla uses her Macro to power up even further, slashing at Mira. Lisanna is helpless to stop her and Mira is still unable to counter.

Mirajane flashes back to her childhood, the village she, Lisanna and Elfman lived in calling Mira a witch. She got near a church and fought a demon, unleashing her natural Take Over talent to absorb the demon’s power and defeat it. But the village still condemns her.

They leave, learning about Take Over from Makarov, Mira having problems fitting into the guild, while Elfman and Lisanna are getting along well.

Mira decides to leave, thinking her siblings will be fine: but she doesn’t see herself as human anymore. But Elfman and Lisanna stop her, revealing they learned how to use Take Over as well (Elfman’s was still undeveloped compared to his eventually mastery of the art later on). They still need to practice, but they promise to protect Mirajane like she protected them.

Back in the fight, Mira regains her resolve, trying to use Take Over on Sayla again, Sayla pushing her away. But she notes that she felt like a part of her was taken away, so she moves to destroy her, unlocking her Demon Eye power.

Mira reveals that she’s comprehended the power of Macro to send remote commands, Sayla realizing that Mira used Take Over on just her Curse power. Elfman is being controlled by Mira to attack Sayla, slamming her into the ground as the chapter ends.

Seven Deadly Sins 73

Hauser and Guira are shocked to discover that Helbram’s a fairy. Dreyfus remembers Hendricksen found him somewhere years ago, but that’s all he knew.

Helbram reflects on his helmet and how it reminds him of the past, but King doesn’t care. Helbram wonders why King cares so much about Diane, insulting the Seven Deadly Sins. King responds that he should know about losing someone important to him, Helbram retorting that he’d also know about losing something right in front of you, unable to do anything. He prepares to stab Diane with a giant vine, King stopping it barely.

King tries to attack Helbram, but he brushes the shuriken form of Chastiefol away with the branch/vine and slams King with it, grabbing him and summoning more to attack even stronger. They knock him around, but King manages to attack one of them with a storm of shuriken as he planned to before, but again it’s deflected by Helbram. He explains that since King lost his fairy wings and is no longer accepted by the Sacred Tree, he can’t fully use Chastiefol, made from it. Helbram, on the other hand, can utilize its branches as he shows, preparing to finish off Diane.

Hauser stops the branches, but Helbram says they’re more like roots, regenerating quickly and knocking Helbram out.

Diane seems to be in serious danger, Helbram pummeling her mercilessly with the vines, a huge explosion of dust and rubble resulting from it, seen by Ban and Meliodas. Helbram tosses King at her presumed corpse.

Meliodas and Ban note that Diane and Gowther’s power is fading, but King’s is rising even higher.

Helbram is shocked to see Diane unscathed, King having focused all his energy on protecting her.

The chapter ends as Diane remembers King’s smell, as Harlequin. The next chapter will be a gaiden on King’s sin and his past.

Magi 221

It’s 5 years later and Solomon’s group is still fighting against the Orthodoxy. We see Sheba destroying a group of enemies, the survivors amazed at what she’s done with her Borg, making it into offensive magic.

Sheba talks to Phenex, the leader of another species, which isn’t named yet, encouraging her to join them.

The Orthodoxy notes that 3/4 of the world has fallen under Solomon’s influence, wondering why David hasn’t sought to annihilate them.

Back at one of the Resistance’s bases, Sheba explains that Phenex’s species, the Garuda, have allied with the Centaurs and Griffons and have created an isolation barrier as well.

The others wonder why Sheba hasn’t controlled her aging process like they have, since at a certain level of power, one can do that. Sheba wants to become an adult, letting it slip that she might have feelings for Solomon, the others teasing her.

She goes to report to Solomon, who is stern and tells her she shouldn’t be so reckless, which Sheba interprets as him having special feelings for her.  He says it’s because she resembles him, and she further concludes it must be him loving her.

Solomon is fighting with another woman as Sheba enters to report. He manages to defeat her, the two of them bickering about her calling Solomon young master and being too humble, since she trained him in swordsmanship. He thinks that if someone like Arba, the woman he defeated in sparring, isn’t with him, he might think to become like a god, which his father aspired to.

Sheba is sulking, jealous of the relationship the two have, the others saying she has to accept she can’t get between them.

Later, Ugo observes and tells Solomon that the magoi’s quality is changing, feeling corrupt in some way and that it might imbalance the world. Solomon says they should go ask the species that instructed him about the history before humans became magicians. The chapter ends as it’s revealed they’re going to meet the Origin Dragon.

World Trigger 55

Hyuse, the Neighbor in the pair that appeared from the gate, plans to capture the target, asking Viza to cover him. He warns Hyuse to make sure the target doesn’t die, since they have high levels of Trion.

The group confirms it’s Aftokrator attacking them as they see the horns, Reiji telling Konami she has to take care of the two new models before they can fight the Neighbor solders. They will fight the two Neighbors defensively until Konami comes back.

Konami utilizes a new Trigger, Sogetsu, a huge battle axe, effortlessly defeating the Trion solders.

Osamu’s amazed, Replica explaining that Tamakoma is using Trigger technology that changes with the user, which the main HQ hasn’t approved yet, preferring standardized Triggers. Konami’s is based on sheer power, ignoring Trion efficiency, Replica saying it’s more like how the Neighbors fight. It’s also the reason why they’re considered the strongest, but they’re also not in the Rank Wars, because of how different their Triggers are.

Reiji and Karasuma hesitate to attack in close range, because the barrier used by Hyuse seems indestructible. They’ll just have to wait for Konami for now.

The sole Black Trigger user starts to attack, seeping a black goop into the ground and attacking from below, the group managing to dodge it. The chapter ends as they transfer information to their Operator, and say that Mikami, the Sniper, has a Side Effect that’s key to their victory in this fight, whatever it is.

Naruto 672

Gai is struggling, Madara observing that this next attack will exert all of Gai’s power.

Sasuke and Naruto have awakened, each of them having a mark on their palms: Sasuke a moon, Naruto what’s likely supposed to be a sun. They move out with their respective groups

Gai takes a new stance, the other shocked he has another trick up his sleeve beyond the Night Elephant.

Kakashi flashes back to when he first met Gai, Dai saying Gai and Kakashi can’t go to the academy together, since Gai flunked the entrance exam. Kakashi says he shouldn’t have even tried if he can’t use ninjutsu. But Gai thanks him for encouraging him, reflecting his father’s attitude, and Sakumo says that Gai might become stronger than Kakashi if he slacks off and gets overconfident. He says Kakashi should see Gai as a rival, Kakashi recognizing that as Gai’s power continues to increase.

Gai rushes forward to attack, Madara saying this is the strongest taijutsu he’s ever seen. Madara sees that Gai’s bending the air around him and is suddenly attacked by what amounts to Gai’s Dynamic Entry, slamming him several hundred feet: we even see it shattered half of Madara’s ribcage and Gai’s legs as well.

The aftermath has Gai lying near death on the ground and Madara barely managed to survive. He throws an attack to kill Gai, but Naruto kicks it away. The chapter ends on him moving his hand over Gai’s chest, seemingly reigniting the flame as Madara sees there’s something different about him. I hope he’s not reviving Gai, since it would take the impact out of his final attack and all.

One Piece 744

As the ring falls apart, water seeping in from the ocean nearby, we see Sabo moving towards the Mera Mera fruit, Diamante saying they never intended to give it away to begin with. Sabo grabs the fruit and takes a bite out of it as he’s declared the victor. He takes Rebecca, leaving Bartolomeo behind and losing his helmet. He tests out the power as one of the other Revolutionaries gives him his clothes. Diamante thinks “Lucy” might be connected to the Revolutionary Army as well, though he can’t be sure.

Robin faces off against Trebol, the Tontatta taking Usopp away. Suddenly, the giant from the preliminaries Luffy was in stops Trebol’s attack and thanks Usopp, showing him to the others as their savior as the ceiling shatters, light streaming down in an oddly appropriate image. The people turned back from toys see him as almost a god, following his order to destroy the Smile factory and save the Tontatta easily.

The fighters from the finals recover, and we finally get confirmation that it was indeed Sabo, explaining to Rebecca that the first Lucy was Luffy and that he’ll be Pirate King someday. He’s revealed to be the second in command of the Revolutionary army, outranked only by Dragon, Luffy’s father. The Revolutionaries were here because the weapons being produced here were supporting wars everywhere and they intend to stop it.

Kyros is nearly blazing through Doflamingo’s crew, Luffy moving to save Trafalgar. Law says that their alliance is over, trying to get Luffy to stay away from him for some reason. Pica attacks Luffy and the others as they try to free Law.  But Doflamingo is revealed to be alive, saying he’s been pushed to use Bird Cage, another technique of his Devil Fruit, most likely.

One Piece is on break next week.

Toriko 273

Mansam has given the group a tray looking item. Komatsu explains it’s a tray and the new capture level measuring device in the form of a tablet computer. They put on wristbands that send out a laser, which transmits the data to the tablet.

Sani wonders how the tablet even knows about Gourmet World ingredients, Komatsu explaining that they’re based on Gourmet ID cards (a sort of required identification for an individual Gourmet Hunter that has data on it based on their ingredients, etc). Mansam just found them next to his pillow one morning and discovered they had millions of data pieces on Gourmet World ingredients. Toriko’s amazed, since only a few people should have that much data on their card.

Zebra says they’ll eventually have no use for it, so he volunteers to test it out on something nearby. A giant fusion of a manta ray and angler fish appears, Toriko measuring it and seeing its capture level is 299, more than even the Octomelon’s. The others decide they have to fight it, but the Raylengler Fish is stabbed by a wave, Coco remembering this is the Thorn Sea. Komatsu runs into the house, while the others prepare to fight the waves themselves.

As Toriko cuts the waves apart with his Knife, he sees a frog like humanoid drinking tea casually. He tries to measure it with the laser, but it dodges and the group continues to fight the waves. They get away, finally arriving at the Harbor of Evil Spirits, the most dangerous entrance into Gourmet World. No ship can get through and it looks like there are apparitions waving at them (the frog’s also there, oddly enough)

There are 8 continents and the Yutou Harbor is near the 8th one where Acacia’s salad AIR is said to be.

The group seems to have made landfall, but then fall through it as it was an illusion. The chapter ends as we see the first Gourmet World ingredient the group will try to capture: AIR.

Bleach 576

Gremmy remembers Kenpachi saying that he had a good expression: he doesn’t know what his face is saying, but he feels great, ready to fight seriously through Kenpachi’s words.

Kenpachi slashes at Gremmy, who creates a black barrier around himself. Spikes come out of it to attack him, but Kenpachi breaks them easily. He slashes Gremmy, but then can’t pull his sword out. A giant hand comes out of the sky, smashing Kenpachi. Gremmy thinks he has the advantage, but Kenpachi slashes upwards through it and wounds Gremmy. Kenpachi even says that he was slow in noticing: Gremmy thinks to himself that this is a problem, since it means there’ll be a delay in his healing and a subsequent delay in attacking and defending. With that window of opportunity, he’ll attack again.

The attacks keep coming, Gremmy wondering if he’ll actually lose. Kenpachi stops, wondering if Gremmy imagined he was losing. Gremmy himself thinks he almost lost it for a second. He restores himself to full health, thanking Kenpachi for encouraging him.

He duplicates himself, Kenpachi thinking it’s just a clone. But Gremmy says he can make life, like he did with Gwenhael and that these clones are seemingly indestructible. Also, his power of imagination, since he made another version of himself, is now doubled.

The chapter ends as Gremmy summons a meteor to destroy all of Soul Society, Kenpachi saying he’s fired up, revealing the name of his Zanpakutou as Nozarashi.

Fairy Tail 380

Lucy, Natsu and Happy are a bit confused about what Hades told them, but are more concerned about finding Mira. Happy goes to tell Makarov, while the others continue to search elsewhere.

Franmalth laughs, saying that Tartarus cannot be defeated as long as their lab is intact: they can be revived countless times. He teleports to the lab as we move to Mira’s fight

She’s having difficulty, Lisanna managing to get her opponent off her back. Sayla is confused as to why her Macro doesn’t affect Mira. But she also explains that she can still resume control of anyone she’s used her Macro on before, threatening to use it on Elfman.

Ezel appears in a tube, wanting to be revived quickly, but Lamy is occupied fighting Lisanna. Mira doesn’t understand, Lamy explaining that because of a contract they made with the Demon King (END?) they can be revived endlessly in this place, Hell’s Core. Mira decides she has to destroy this place first, Sayla thinking she can’t do it. But Mira seems to crush all the equipment without even touching it, stopping Franmalth and Ezel’s rebirths. Mira explains she took over the tentacle thing with her magic and used it to attack.

The two realize that their abilities can’t work on each other: Sayla’s Macro can’t affect Mira, because she’s too strong and the same for Mira’s Takeover magic. The fight boils down to physical damage, Lisanna confident Mira can win.

But Sayla releases her limiter and quickly attacks Mira, her power increasing immensely, which shocks Mira. She unleashes a huge blast at Mira, seemingly vaporizing her. She managed to survive it, but her Takeover magic has worn off, so she’s powerless against Sayla’s new form.

We move to a different part of the guild, where someone is holding a book which holds END, the mysterious figure saying a human imitating a demon cannot hope to match up to the real thing. It’s revealed that he’s the Demon King, Marde Guille, as the chapter ends.
