Magi 202

We start with Alibaba looking off the bow of the ship, very contemplative. The others are worried about him, but he says he’s fine. They think it has to do with what he said last night. He spoke with Morg, telling her he’s afraid to return to Balbadd. He thinks he doesn’t have a right to be there, or that he can’t be sure of what the situation is, since the Kou Empire has made it a trading town of sorts. His biggest concern is that he can’t really contribute to Balbadd anymore. His major fight is with Al Thamen, but he wants to do something for the town that he put so much effort into for the sake of Cassim and the others. He even says that if he can’t help Balbadd anymore in his fight against Al Thamen, it feels like he doesn’t deserve to have a metal vessel.

Back in the present, pirates attack, which Olba had joked about before. They use magic tools, like Olba and his friends did when they were under Aum Madaura’s control and so they reveal new magic tools to fight them. Alibaba is astonished that they regard themselves as no different ultimately than the pirates, since they committed many horrible acts in their past. But Alibaba gave them a reason to live, protecting each other after Aum Madaura was killed. Even Toto agrees, the gladiators he freed inspired by his act to seek a new life. Even if, like Alibaba says, he didn’t give them food or shelter, he freed them from bondage.

Amon’s Metal Vessel reacts and two birds of Rukh go to Toto and Olba’s weapons, making them new members of Alibaba’s household, which is a great development. As the pirates generate a giant ball of water to attack, Amon speaks to them and they use their household vessels to destroy the magic water sphere.

As the group parties to celebrate the new household vessels’ awakening, Morg comments that Alibaba isn’t alone now, that many people trust and respect him.

The chapter ends as Olba and Toto announce to Alibaba that they’re a couple now, which leaves Alibaba stunned.

World Trigger 37

Last time, it looked like Osamu had won against Kazama, but Kazama manages to sever Osamu’s Trion supply. It seems like Kazama managed to survive, but only long enough to do that, the battle ultimately ending in a tie. Everyone’s fairly impressed, since fighting to a draw is close enough to a victory in itself

Kazama inquires of Karasuma whether he taught Osamu that, Karasuma denying it. Kazama concludes that Osamu, while weak and low in Trion, isn’t bad in that he takes advantage of his skills, acknowledging his weakness and fighting with his head. He doesn’t want to fight Yuma, since he’s still just a trainee in his head. He encourages Yuma to get to the next rank to challenge him.

Afterwards, other A Rank members say that Kazama could’ve won, blocking the blow with a shield and then countering. They even point out Osamu only had an advantage because of the unlimited Trion in training mode. Kazama thinks to himself that while Osamu seemed unimpressive, he improved through his losses and managed to outthink Kazama. He wonders how far he can get on that creativity.

The others compliment Osamu back in the training room, but say he shouldn’t let it go to his head, since losing 20 times to tie once is unrealistic in actual battle. Arashiyama then shows up saying something happened with Chika.

Turns out she’s just apologetic for putting a hole in the wall, but the supervisors say it’s partly their fault for not measuring her Trion. Satori is pinned to take the blame instead. Director Kinuta starts to chide Satori, but Chika then tells the truth, the other supervisor, Azuma, saying she fired the Ibis that caused the hole.  After he finds out she’s from Tamakoma, he changes his tone, complimenting her and saying the wall can be fixed easily. Turns out he has a weakness for young girls, since he has a daughter of his own around Chika’s age, so her being from Tamakoma was irrelevant.

Osamu and Yuma come in, Kinuta telling Osamu to keep an eye on her. The others are amazed at Chika’s power. Jin’s on the phone, finding out everyone enlisted. He comments they must be the center of conversation of HQ. People comment on Yuma finishing in less than a second, Chika blowing a hole in the wall and Osamu tying with Kazama as a B rank. But Jin thinks they have even greater potential and they’ll truly stand out in the future.

Bleach 556

We see Shinji hit by Bambietta’s attack and then a subsequent explosion. Bambietta explains that even if she can’t follow things due to Sakanade’s power, she’ll just explode everything around her with her Schrift, “The Explode” She rains a volley of explosive blasts down, but Komamura appears, seemingly stopping them.

Momo appears, attacking Bambietta, but Komamura stops her before the blasts engulf her. He explains that the blasts are too powerful even for Tobiume, so she should stay back.

Bambietta then attacks Komamura, who manages to dodge. He says there’s a slight delay between the moment the attack makes contact and the explosion, so he’s just managing to press past the attacks themselves and the force is depleted by him reducing the impact and the armor buffering him against the resulting explosion that remains.

He doesn’t quite dodge one of the attacks, Bambietta impressed he managed to dodge the slight change in motion it made so his head wasn’t targeted.

She explains that she isn’t firing bombs so much as putting her reishi into anything and turning it into a bomb, kind of like Karasu from Yu Yu Hakusho, I think. She releases an even larger amount of bombs and Komamura takes the brunt of them, protecting Momo.

It’s revealed that after his armor was destroyed that Komamura is no longer the wolf man we remember, his face distinctly human, though he still has fur on his arms and other areas.

It’s explained in flashback that this is the human metamorphosis ritual. Komamura’s clan was men that were sent to the beast realm instead of dying, so they eventually returned to Soul Society. They can temporarily shed their beast form to regain their full power. In order to do this, Komamura must rip out his physical heart and give it to his ancestor. Komamura hesitates, his ancestor saying he doesn’t have to sacrifice himself for the Soul Reapers, but Komamura says that Yamamoto took him in after he abandoned the clan, so he’s willing to make this sacrifice for them.

He releases his Bankai, taking on a new form both because of the Hollowification and his humanized form as the chapter ends on it.

Naruto 654

Obito moves to shake Naruto’s hand and then grabs at his throat, saying he accepts the choices he made and he’d do it again. Naruto responds that he shouldn’t imagine himself being Hokage, punching him. He says Rin didn’t want to follow who Obito has become, but who he was before he changed.

We then see the flashback from before continuing where it left off, Obito being told by copies of himself that he could fill the void in his heart without others. They warp into copies of Rin, Kakashi and Minato and then the Obito in the flashback tells the Obito in the present what Naruto told him, grasping his hand, revealing it is Naruto, who tries to pull Obito back. He says he should stop trying to deny that he wants to be part of the Leaf Village.

We see everyone in the Shinobi Alliance pulling Obito’s chakra; the strength of everyone together pulling the Tailed Beasts out of Obito, materializing as Obito falls to the ground defeated and contemplates his actions. He thinks he could’ve been wrong and was trying to fill that void with his own feelings, but starts to accept that the people close to you fill that void, Rin in particular for Obito.

One Piece 727

We start this chapter with Rebecca dodging Rolling Logan’s attacks, using his force to defeat other combatants, the crowd yelling at her to fight

Back where Rebecca’s father revealed herself, Usopp is connecting the dots, but he goes on to explain that it started back with Monet working at the palace.

Ten years ago, a literal seismic shift happened. Before then, the country had never seen war in 8 centuries, a miracle.  But one night, Doflamingo appears before King Riku, saying he’s taking back the country for his own. The rumor seems to be that Doflamingo used money from the Tenryuubito and blackmailed the World Government into making him a Shichibukai, Donquixote apparently accepting that was the case. He’s a thorn in the side of both groups in that sense, since he doesn’t fear the Tenryuubito or the World Government after that.

Doflamingo offers to give the country to him for 10 billion Beri, since he could just take it by force if he wanted. He limits Riku to the country’s money, no foreign aid. And he can’t tell the citizens about Doflamingo either. He’s putting him in an unwinnable situation here. He has until the next night.

The soldiers suggest they fight, but Riku is sticking by his principles, saying they should suffer a blow to their reputation for a time, but they will gain it back.

The soldiers start to get the money from citizens, but they resist, King Riku showing his face through a Den Den Mushi and insisting that they trust him. He even bows on his hands and knees, begging them to go along with this. He has confided in Captain Tank that he’ll try to blow up Doflamingo with himself and then leave it to the Captain to get foreign aid.

The people agree, giving their money. But as the Captain and the others take the money back to the palace, King Riku appears, attacking people and even destroying a building with explosives for some unknown reason. It’s revealed he’s being manipulated by Doflamingo’s String String Fruit. He then extends the power to manipulate the soldiers, causing the destruction we saw that night in Rebecca’s flashback.

Doflamingo’s plan seems to be to plunge the country into chaos and then jump in at the last minute to save it, becoming the hero of the people. The chapter ends as he reveals all this, the country erupting into the flames that we saw before.

Toriko 257

Midora speaks to the Blue Nitro, asking what it’s doing here. He has concluded it can understand human language, the Blue Nitro’s mouth splitting in half to reveal a horrible toothed maw. Thinking it’s going to eat Ichiryuu, he first says it’s normal, since they’re virtually at the top of the food chain. But then he says it’s too high quality for him, scaring him away with his Intimidation. Midora comments that it managed to avoid his Hungry Tongue trap with ease, attesting to its great skill and power.

Midora is confused as to why Ichiryuu would bring this up now, but does respect him for following his ideals. He even admits that if he had wanted to kill him, the fight would’ve turned out differently. He decides that he should at least take him to a place where he can die with dignity and where he is at peace.

Elsewhere, we see the destruction of Human World, 25 billion people affected, over 100 nations infrastructure destroyed by the Meteor Spice’s rain of chaos. If nothing else, human life was preserved by the defense net of sorts that Ichiryuu prepared ahead of time

The biggest concern, of course, was the food supply, people spoiled by the Gourmet Age unable to cope with the radical change brought about by this loss.

Back at IGO headquarters, Mansam is healed from near death with much of the alcohol they have. Ray, one of the Bureau Chiefs whom we’ve met before, explains the situation briefly and also says that they need to start dispensing rations to the world. Mansam explains that Ichiryuu had a plan, ordering them to go to the underground storehouses of the research labs and take those ingredients they’ve stockpiled to the people.

We shift to the country of healing, LIFE, where Chiyo is recovering, waking to see Chinchin Chin. Setsuno seems forgiving of her, telling her to rest a bit longer. Chinchin Chin is crying tears of joy, since he cared deeply for Chiyo and we can presume that they were similar to Setsuno and Jirou as a pair, romantically involved.

Nono tells Setsuno that the ingredient preparation is complete. Setsuno explains that the chefs will have to work hard, but the ones that will truly save the world are the Gourmet Hunters like Toriko. The chapter ends as we see him standing, having recovered.

Fairy Tail 359

Tempesta is recharging at Tartaros Headquarters, apologizing to Kyouka, who reminds him of his name, which he seems to have forgotten. Every time he regenerates, he loses his identity in a sense, since names don’t mean anything to him now.

He asks how long it’ll take for his regeneration, Kyouka saying it would normally be a day, but since they’re creating a new demon, it’ll take longer. It turns out to be Minerva, who is being transformed, since she wasn’t originally a demon, but Kyouka judges her to have the right traits.

Flanmalth notes that Doriarte was a failure, so he hopes Minerva doesn’t turn out like that. He also says they’re using a lot of their resources to resurrect Tempesta and they shouldn’t use the magic barrier particles so commonly. Tempesta is raging at Fairy Tail, because if they hadn’t interfered, he might’ve succeeded in his mission to kill Yajima.

Minerva reacts by convulsing in anger at Fairy Tail’s name being mentioned. Kyouka notes that they beat both the Oracion Seis and Grimoire Heart, wondering if they’ll challenge Tartaros in the future.

Natsu is still furious, the others holding him down. Makarov and Erza remind him that they don’t know much about Tartaros or even their location, so even if they want to attack, they have nowhere to start from. The only thing they really have is that they’re targeting former council members, but that information’s classified, so it’ll be difficult to track them down. But Loki reveals that he knows some of them.

They find out 4 of their locations, splitting up into 4 groups to protect them and get the info from the Tartaros members. Porylusca asks them to try to get a blood sample from Tempesta so she can make a vaccine.

Makarov gives a rousing speech, saying they have to avenge their comrades, since they’re like family to each other.

We see one of the former council members, guarded by Lucy, Natsu and Wendy. The old man, Mikero, doesn’t want them to protect him and starts to leave. But his granddaughter manages to persuade him. The list of people who could target the former council members aren’t limited to Dark Guilds either

Mikero thinks it might be someone, but before he can finish the name, Natsu pushes everyone down and an explosion destroys the house. Natsu manages to eat the flame and the attacker turns out to be Jackal, who Natsu challenges as the chapter ends.
