Magi 205
Sinbad and Yunan are still fighting, Yunan wanting to talk
to Aladdin alone, but Sinbad wanting to join in. Aladdin’s still confused,
though he doesn’t know much more than that Yunan raised the first dungeon and
Sinbad conquered it.
Sinbad blames Yunan for throwing the world into chaos, but
Yunan says he retracted dungeons that Judar summoned, so his power seems
greater. He then summons a room for them to speak in alone, away from Sinbad,
by summoning trees and then turning them into logs. With that, he creates a
cabin along with other Rukh, a masterful level of magic. Yamraiha is especially
impressed. Yunan creates a Borg around the room before Sinbad can try to burst
in. The cabin looks like the one we saw when he met Morg.
Aladdin is amazed at the level of skill and Yunan explains
it’s not technically wood. He gives a rough description of cells and says that
he reconfigured them into other things, so this is alchemical/transmutation
type magic, involving probably most of the 8 kinds of magic. Aladdin admits he
doesn’t know much about Yunan, but he does see that he’s a powerful magician
and probably knows many things that Aladdin didn’t even discover at Magnostadt
Aladdin inquires about Ugo and Yunan explains that he meets
him every time he dies. Similar to when Scheherazade died and her Rukh was
given to Titus and he was resurrected, Yunan says every Magi’s rukh functions
like this and Yunan, presumably, has gone through this process many times,
which is why he looks so young, yet he’s so knowledgeable. He quantifies that he’s
done it 9 times, probably much more than even Scheherazade has, which we only
know of it happening once in the past. They’re reborn into their previous
bodies, so that’s why Scheherazade can maintain the youthful appearance, also
in Yunan’s case.
Later, Yunan asks Aladdin what he thinks about Sinbad and
Aladdin remarks that Sinbad is an amazing person in terms of magoi and his king
qualities. He asks Yunan why he didn’t become Sinbad’s Magi. He explains that
while he respects Sinbad, he thinks becoming his Magi would be dangerous. He’s
perplexed, like he’s being prevented from becoming Sinbad’s Magi, which makes
sense in a way, since Sinbad is comparable to a magician with his level of
magoi, if not higher than that.
Yunan worries about Sinbad, since he feels too perfect in
his qualities as a King Vessel/Candidate. He notes that Aladdin and every other
Magi, even if they don’t realize it, seem determined by instinct to choose King
Vessels and grant them the power to conquer the world. Usually there are only a
few kings according to Yunan, but with so many possible ones, the battle could
shape the fate of the world overall with the power involved. He questions what
a King Vessel is, which I wonder if this is distinct from King Candidate and if
it has to do with the Metal Vessel the King Candidate uses
The chapter ends as Alibaba enters Balbadd.
World Trigger 40
Yosuke and Yotaro arrive where Yuma and Midorikawa are
fighting.
Shun explains about the rank war and that an agent won’t get
any points if they win, since they’re already ranked, while Yuma’s still a
trainee. Either way, neither of them will get points, since Shun isn’t involved
in trainee rank fights and doesn’t need Yuma’s, nor can he lose any to Yuma.
They still have points as ranked agents relative to Triggers, but the Rank war
seems to be based on whether the person agrees to a point based fight instead
of one where it’s just showing off skill, in which case it’s more like a
practice fight. I would diss Viz, the only source that’s keeping up with the
newest chapters, but they’re doing their best with the translation, and
sometimes the readers have to read between the lines
Yuma loses his first fight quickly, managing to survive a
bit longer before losing the second match. Yosuke doesn’t note whether he’s
better than Midorikawa, but he does acknowledge that he’s a prodigy, still in
junior high But Yosuke notices that he’s getting better and he’s right as Yuma
wins 3 rounds in a row, having won if it was best of 5.
Yosuke continues to explain about Midorikawa, noting that
he’s only been an A rank agent for a year, so he’s still rough in terms of raw
experience, while Yuma is precise and with his wealth of background in battle,
he’s able to do exactly what he has to in order to win. He then beats his 3
more times, sending home the point that Midorikawa’s no match for the Neighbor.
Yuma wanted Osamu to do this himself, but he admits Osamu’s too stubborn when
it comes to personal matters, better when it’s about defending his friends, so
Yuma’s doing this for Osamu’s sake.
Other A rank agents see Yuma beating Midorikawa, impressing
Kazama and Shinoda
Yuma comes out the victor, 8-2, Midorikawa apparently okay
with it, since the idea was to gauge Yuma’s abilities. He had other Triggers,
but he chose to stick with the Scorpion to test Yuma’s overall ability. I’m
hoping he’ll be back and show his special ability, the Side Effect that every
Trigger user tends to have (though we’ve only really seen it with Yuma and Jin
so far. Chika and Osamu, among others, have yet to demonstrate this, if they
even have it).
The chapter ends as Jin calls Osamu and Yuma, Kido wanting
to see them both. I’m hoping it’ll be compliments and not being punished.
Either way, the tension is building in this arc.
Bleach 559
Haschwalth comments to Shunsui and Nanao that the battles
seem to be shifting in the Soul Reaper’s favor, Shunsui agreeing. Haschwalth
comments that he will tip the scales in the Quincy’s favor, slashing through
the barrier Nanao made. He had been draining the reishi from it slowly, but
Nanao reveals that she’d been creating her own new barrier. It’s more hexagonal
in shape and composed of various shields, but Haschwalth sees through this,
concluding there must be a trap. He moves to use Sklaverei to drain it
completely and dominate it, but then he’s called back to Silbern, the castle of
the Wandenreich. Abandoning the battle, while shameless, is his duty, since
Juhabach’s orders are absolute to him.
We see Ikkaku and Yumichika hiding out. It was apparently
still day out, but it’s now become night in Seireitei. Shuuhei meets up with
them and Ikkaku comments about the Quincy using the shadows and that moving
around at night is risky. The scene shifts away from them as they’re attacked
by Mask de Masculine.
Back at the Silbern, Juhabach announces that Cang Du and BG9
are to be judged. BG9 protests that they lost, but they were brought back with
Vollstandig. Juhabach agrees, but Haschwalth comments further that the scales
must be equaled out. The idea that their lives were saved by luck means they
must also suffer bad luck in return to pay for that happy accident. Haschwalth
slices Cang Du, but he hardens his skin with his Schrift ability, commenting
that he will only accept being killed by Juhabach. Haschwalth then says that
this is another turn of fate, but the scales are tipping in his favor. Cang Du
is seemingly killed by Haschwalth, making me think since he’s Stern Ritter B
and all this talk about balance makes me think that’s his Schrift name:
Balance. Somehow he can tip the battle more and more in his favor the more his
opponent has the advantage, sort of a counter attack, which makes his battle
with Shunsui an interesting one from what we’ve seen of his Zanpakutou powers
Mask de Masculine has beaten up the three Soul Reapers from
before, only disappointed there wasn’t much of an audience. The chapter ends as
he sees two lights appear and Renji and Rukia land in Soul Society
Naruto 656
We see Obito looking up at the God Tree, a glint of light serving
as a proverbial inspiration to him. It’s Naruto throwing a Rasen Shuriken at
Madara, who’s been immobilized by Hashirama through a Wood Release Dragon that
saps his chakra so he can’t drain the chakra from the God Tree (though we
aren’t told this explicitly)
After Naruto is taken by Sai’s paint bird summon, we see
Gaara conversing with Shukaku, asking him to help with sealing Madara. Shukaku
agrees, if only to spite Kurama, since he has an inferiority complex regarding
Kyuubi. The other Bijuu join him and they note Gaara’s bond with Naruto, Gaara
agreeing, speaking about Naruto as his first true friend.
Meanwhile, Madara hasn’t been defeated, though he’s still
relatively immobilized by Hashirama’s Wood Release techniques. They’re just
waiting for someone of Gaara’s level to seal him.
Obito starts to cough up blood, Minato and Kakashi thinking
he’s going to die. But Kurama’s half inside Minato explains that even if the
Bijuu is removed, the Jinchuuriki won’t be in mortal danger because of the
Gedou Mazou, Demon Statue of the Heretic Path, which carries a great amount of
energy. It emanates an immense amount of life energy to preserve Obito’s body.
Kurama explains that, like the original sage, Obito is immobilized for the most
part and can’t fight, but he’ll survive, since his power is close to the
original Rikudo Sennin. This week with the big manga seems vague with the
explanations. We know what they’re referring to, just not the specifics of how
Obito survives beyond that the Gedou Mazou has something to do with it, even
though it’s an empty shell.
Obito and Kakashi talk, Kakashi wanting Obito to pay for his
crimes, but accepting that he’s near immortal with the Gedou Mazou still intact.
Obito then moves to do the Rinne Tensei Jutsu, commenting on how he’s become
like Nagato, who was changed by Naruto’s words and sacrificed himself for
everyone’s sake. He also says that it’s as if Jiraiya ultimately beat him,
having influenced and trained Naruto, Nagato and Minato, all going against his
goals. Kakashi says he could live and make up for his past actions, but Obito,
using Naruto’s mindset, says that’d be the easy way out.
But suddenly, Black Zetsu appears from underground,
attaching himself to Obito. This connects him back to Madara who starts his
counterattack. Like he did a while back, he’s trying to use Obito to utilize
Rinne Tensei to resurrect himself. I can only assume, since they didn’t say it
outright, that Obito was trying to do the opposite and seal Madara in some
manner. The chapter ends as Madara relishes in his new physical form. I’m
guessing he wants to become the new Juubi Jinchuuriki, which makes this cycle
start over again unless Obito can still manage to do something.
Toriko 259
Coco begins to explain things, saying he’s been investigating
since the battle and has found something he wants them to look at. He also
explains to Sani that the white hair color is because he used too much poison.
His Gourmet Cells, similar to what we saw with Toriko’s, seem to have
manifested in the battle and drained a lot of his energy, not unlike Sani’s
battle with Tommyrod as well. It seems Grinparch’s immune system is highly
resistant to Coco’s poison, everything serving as a filter. Even the Poison
Virus couldn’t defeat him. His Gourmet Cells released a Death poison, which
made Grinparch go berserk. Coco wasn’t defeated, though he was definitely close
to death in the battle. The hole dug was said to be even deeper than Heavy
Hole, which I think Melk the First trained in during the Melk Stardust arc.
He managed to escape after getting to an area that was
filled with a dangerous electromagnetic wave that frightened Coco. A voice told
him he couldn’t enter unless he was qualified and he brought back a rock from
that area. Sani observes and notices that it absorbs energy, so Coco theorizes
that it’s a living entity of some sort. The mineral is common enough if you dig
to a certain depth, except in the Human World.
The crust under Human
World is billions of years old, which the rock Coco found in the bedrock area
is only a few hundred million, so the theory is that the planet was somehow
enlarged or expanded with this material. It’s a bit unclear, but it certainly
makes for an interesting explanation for the sheer size of the planet in
Toriko. Coco elaborates, noting that the rock has pseudo Gourmet Cells, so his
hypothesis is that the mineral landed on earth through a meteorite and then
expanded by absorbing energy from the original planet earth, growing to the
size of the planet now, comprising 75% or more of the earth as it is now,
mostly the Gourmet World. It literally expanded outward from the original earth
and creating more mass overall. Seems like astronomically, this could make for
some problems, since the orbit and such would be affected, but we shouldn’t try
to apply hard science to a fantasy world like this.
Coco also notes that the time this mineral came about
coincides with a second Cambrian explosion of life, many animals prospering and
the populations expanding. The goal Coco has is to get to the deeper parts of
the earth to discover the secrets Acacia found. Coco’s hypothesis goes further,
suggesting that since his Gourmet Cells suggested it was an immense life force,
comparable to a good tasting food, that the mineral is the source of the
further diversifying life on the planet to this day. He even calls it a sort of
Food Utopia, which makes me think Neo and Bishokukai both desire to get there,
and that Acacia’s journey before he died had to do with this location. The
connection makes for an interesting development in the plot, since it means
that the Nitro are involved as well, possibly aliens.
The plan Coco came to Zedra and Sani about is to finish
collecting Ichiryuu’s Full Course, the last ingredient in the First Biotope.
Once that is found, the food produced by them is able to be eaten infinitely,
so it can end the famine and prevent starvation across the world.
Zebra’s curious why Coco directed Komatsu to where Toriko
was, thinking that they both ultimately failed, one getting captured and the
other nearly killed. But Coco says that eventually they’ll be okay, having had
to make the decision based on limited information at the time.
The chapter ends as we see Rin worried about Toriko and
Jirou appears to give Toriko some encouragement.
Fairy Tail 362
We continue where we left off last time with Natsu fighting
Jackal. He punches the demon and he activates the curse, but he again negates
it by eating it, sending the point home to him.
Jackal starts to feel real fear and begins morphing into a
more bestial form. He rushes at Natsu and with one punch, causes an even bigger
explosion than we’ve seen before.
The demon rages, saying humans can’t best them, but Natsu
counterattacks, saying humans can become stronger than demons. He starts to use
Laxus’ power, slamming Jackal into the wall, collapsing afterwards, since
eating explosions still damaged him enough to affect his stability.
Lucy and Wendy compliment him, along with Happy and Charle.
Jackal laughs to himself at his loss, starting to suicide bomb himself to take
out the entire city. He reveals he can’t stop it even if he dies. The situation
seems hopeless until Happy grabs the demon and flies him into the air,
sacrificing himself to save the others. Or so we thought, Happy fine, just his
hair affected, turned into an afro as the chapter ends.
