Jujutsu Kaisen, a new Jump Start by
Gege Akitami, features a school setting at first. Itadori, a student with
amazing power, is in the occult research club, though he doesn’t know much
about curses and the like. After his grandfather dies, he’s approached by
Fushigoro of the Jujutsu (not the martial art, a form of magic) Specialty
School, saying there’s a cursed object of the highest class at his school. The
two find it and save his club members, but in order to try and fight the cursed
spirit, Itadori eats the cursed object and it incarnates, taking over his body.
He manages to regain some control, but the first chapter ends as Fushigoro says
he must exorcise him.

Hyouga is impressed, his
subordinates panicking at the strength their opponents have shown. But he says
it’s unfortunate that Senkuu didn’t see that this was a diversion, the residential
area with the children now ablaze through the efforts of Homura, Hyouga’s
assistant, who’s quite capable at her job
Homura cuts off Kokuyou and others from getting across the bridge by burning it down.
The other brutes realize Hyouga’s
plan, saying they should take one of the kids as a hostage so they can have
leverage against Senkuu and the others.
Kohaku tells Ginrou to move the kids
to the science storehouse, Suika wanting to help in some way to protect
everything that the village has worked hard for, including the laboratory that
helped make her glasses
She draws away the attackers by
rolling in her melon gourd, saying that she’ll head upwind to prevent them from
lighting more fires.
Hyouga and Homura think this works
in their favor, only needing to capture one person as a hostage.
But when Senkuu hears from Ginrou
that Suika ran up the mountain, he realizes she might be in more danger because
of the poisonous gases that come from the lake nearby
Suika gets near the poisonous lake,
the manifestation of death itself (in their minds) coming towards them quickly
Senkuu and Kohaku move Suika to safety
in the trees, the gas heavier than air so that it just goes under them
harmlessly, Hyouga’s group also getting out of the way in time
The attackers from Tsukasa’s kingdom
ask if it’s really poison gas, Senkuu saying it is and that they’ll have to wait
it out as they retreat
Hyouga thinks this is a perfect
opportunity for his subordinates to make themselves useful, knocking them off
the tree to test whether the gas is actually deadly.
The group is killed, Hyouga and Homura
impressed at what the Kingdom of Science has managed to do, saying that they’ll
return with their full army
Senkuu says they’ll try a preemptive
strike rather than waiting for them to attack, hinting at something that would
aid greatly in military tactics, though he doesn’t say what it is as the chapter
ends

Kobayashi sees Yuiga after they’ve
both taken a mock national exam for college. He asks if Yuiga’s headed home,
his friend saying he’s staying to review things with Uruka, who also took the
exam
Yuiga calling Uruka by her first
name takes Kobayashi by surprise, Uruka and Umihara, a friend from the swim
team, meeting up with the two.
Uruka didn’t do so well on her
English portion of the exam, Yuiga suggesting that she look at the questions
deeper, getting tripped up by variations on the format and not fully
understanding English grammar as it relates to the Japanese translation.
Kobayashi and Umihara leave the two
alone, Umihara telling Uruka that she should take this chance to advance her
relationship with Yuiga more, even suggesting a kiss
Uruka’s embarrassed at that, Yuiga
commenting on how close they are. She says Umihara and Kawase have been her
friends since middle school, but she remembers that Yuiga and Kobayashi have
been friends since elementary school, Yuiga confirming this, saying that he
helped take care of his sister after school, since his parents worked as well
Thinking that Kobayashi would know
more about Yuiga, she wants to take this opportunity to learn more about Yuiga,
but she’s still so happy about being called by her first name that she decides
to not bother with it for now
As the two head home, Yuiga says
she’s doing better. They spot Kobayashi and Umihara sitting on a bench together
and are shocked when the two kiss.
They hide as Umihara and Kobayashi,
calling each other by their first names, leave to catch a bus.
Yuiga and Uruka take the next bus,
sitting in silence as they think about how their friends are becoming more
mature and adult like.
Uruka asks Yuiga if he’s kissed
someone before, Yuiga remembering his accidental kiss with Rizu before. He says
it was like a kiss, but not nearly as cool
The two think about how they may do
that in the future with someone, falling asleep as they pass by their high
school.
Yuiga wakes up, Uruka also realizing
that they’re sleeping right next to each other on the bus and Uruka leans in
for a kiss
But it appears to be a dream, Yuiga
and Uruka getting up to leave from their stop, Uruka wondering if Yuiga had a
weird dream, even acting as if it may have not been a dream, more like she did
try to kiss him but then held back
The next day, Umihara and Kobayashi
both reveal their relationship to their friends, both of them asked if they
kissed. The chapter ends as they say it’s a secret, that intrigue keeping them
interested
Black Clover 148
We see a flashback where Licht
acquired his four leaf grimoire, apparently possessing Sword magic in the past
before he acquired Light magic. The people around him are astounded, as they
were in the present when Yuno got his four leaf grimoire, the fourth leaf
symbolizing luck
A person in the crowd sees Licht as
amazing, following him around, which irritates Rhya, who is by his side as they’re
traveling. It seems likely to be Patri, someone we saw in an earlier flashback
who was very attached to Licht, even not wanting to share him with his wife.
There are rumors of humans attacking
elves, Licht thinking it’s possible, though he hopes they can reconcile with
each other, not so different in the end
A giant tornado, created by mana
running wild, has a person trapped in it, Licht and another person saving them
with their Blade and Light magic respectively
The girl is called Tetia, the sister
of the user of Light Magic, with the four leaf grimoire, revealed to both be human
and the brother very likely the first Wizard King.
They get along well, Rhya surprised
at how much they think alike. Tetia is revealed to be pregnant with Licht’s
child, the flashback proceeding as we’ve seen with regards to other connected
events from Vett, Rhya and Fana’s flashbacks.
At the wedding, Patri is still
confused as to how this can be, hoping that elves and humans can understand one
another.
But they’re attacked by what appears
to be Light Magic, a barrier trapping the elves in the area and also preventing
them from using magic as everyone is slaughtered.
Patri wakes up, seemingly in Licht’s
body, but it’s actually a human body, likely William Vangeance’s. We see his
grimoire, Patri commenting that she cannot use it
The “Licht” we know in the present
reveals that Licht in the past used Reincarnation Magic to move all the souls
of the elves, possibly into this one body, which is how we see the possession magic
used on Fana and others.
The chapter ends as Patri regards
herself as a chosen person, both with aquiring the four leaf clover grimoire
and being the one to reincarnate into this body as Licht, saying that she will
revive the elf clan and vows revenge on the humans
Boku no Hero Academia 174
Kendou wasn’t with Monoma in the
last chapter because she’s participating in the Miss Con Beauty Pageant along
with Hadou. It’s also stated in Viz’s version that she’s gotten popular because
of the commercial she and Momo did with Uwabami when they were interning under
her.
It turns out what they meant by “fired”
last chapter for Deku was more that he has to split duties between dancing and
staging duty, since the setup for Aoyama is a bit more complicated than first
thought.
He wants to still be able to dance
so he can show that part of the performance to Eri, but he understands the
staging team’s logic, wanting to change things up so the audience doesn’t get
bored easily
Deku and All Might are considering
how he can fully utilize One For All with the limitations he has, not able to
do repeated attacks yet without his body getting hurt. All Might says that Deku
should try to focus on the image and sensation, not able to really offer a
trick since he naturally was able to utilize One For All much better than Deku
could, even though they both started off Quirkless
Suddenly a ball comes by, All Might
catching it as we see it’s one of Hatsume’s inventions. She inquires to Deku
about something he’d asked about before, revealing she can put it together with
the free time and materials she has, even though there’s still the paperwork to
fill out to get it approved through the proper channels.
All Might reveals to Deku he tried
out support items himself, to Deku’s shock, saying that it doesn’t work as well
with close range fighters, since the equipment would get damaged, but Deku
should take advantage of it.
However, he warns Deku not to become
dependent on them, Heroes that are defined by their support gear falling apart
when it doesn’t function in battle
Back at the dorm, everyone’s still
practicing, Momo offering some special black tea called Imperial Golden Tips.
Deku is panicking slightly at having
not known something about All Might, stumbling across a video from Gentle, who
speaks about the appropriate tea to drink when relaxing, then noting that his
next video will be a wakeup call as it ends
Deku recognizes Gentle as a Villain
seen as an annoyance because of his online escapades, impressed at how he can
upload videos without getting caught
Gentle and La Brava discuss their
plans at the hideout, Gentle commenting that the Heroes are prepared for
certain things, but not for unexpected crises, a weakness he intends to exploit
La Brava is worried about involving
the Heroes in training, Gentle laughing as he says that will toughen them up,
which makes her happy that he’s so thoughtful for the future
They confirm the route, leading to a
rundown café, where they intend to drink the Imperial Golden Tips tea. After
that, they will arrive at UA, covering themselves in dirt and leaves to avoid
Hound Dog finding their scent and La Brava hacking UA’s computer system so they
can enter without the need of the ID card
Gentle compliments La Brava,
reminding his fan that her hacking skills and devotion to his cause were what truly
pushed him into infamy. She found him after he had struggled to get recognition
on the net, discovering his address through her hacking and offering assistance
The chapter ends as Gentle tells La
Brava that he will put his life on the line for the sake of his fans and for
her as well, time passing until it’s the night before the cultural festival
One Piece 897
Smoothie’s fleet is planning to
reinforce their defense so that the Straw Hats, who are on the edge of Cacao
Island’s fleet, can’t hope to escape
Meanwhile, Pekoms explains to Luffy
that he’s uncontrollable in his Sulong form, only Pedro able to stop him in the
past. Brulee thinks it’s pointless, a veritable army amassed at Cacao Island,
but Pekoms says he won’t let Pedro’s sacrifice be in vain, Luffy thanking him
as they arrive at the mirror
The army outside is stunned as they
hear Brulee’s cry for help and Pekoms jumps out, threatening her life with a
gun as he removes his sunglasses and begins to transform into Sulong.
As Oven attacks him with Heat Wave
Fist, Luffy is revealed to have been hiding behind Pekoms somehow
Luffy leaps away from some
attackers, but is targeted by Raisin, who unsheathes his blade to attack. Sanji
kicks him away, to everyone’s surprise
But as they move to escape, more of
Big Mom’s army mobilizes around them, knocking Sanji down.
They mock them, saying there’s no
way they can escape. But the ships on the outskirts of Cacao are attacked by
cannonfire, the chapter ending as we see that Germa 66’s fleet has arrived,
ready to support Sanji and company.
Seven
Deadly Sins 257
Arthur is still holding onto the sword and stabbing
himself, Cusack pushing him to destroy his heart as Merlin and Elizabeth try to
help him somehow
A soldier appears, saying that Rueduciel requires
Elizabeth and a representative from the Seven Deadly Sins to discuss the final
preparations with the rest of Stigma
Hawk tells Cath not to beat himself up about this,
but he appears to be getting more enraged, his form more monstrous than ever to
Hawk’s surprise
Merlin bemoans that she couldn’t bring out Arthur’s
potential, seeing him as someone that had a great destiny before them.
Escanor is about to enter the room, thinking what to
say, but as Merlin continues to emphasize how precious Arthur is to her,
Elizabeth also comments, saying that it’s like how Meliodas is a special person
to her, the Sin of Pride turning around and leaving
Elizabeth kisses Merlin on the forehead, reminding
the Sin of Gluttony how Elizabeth used to cheer her up in the past, resolved
now to stop Meliodas and free Elizabeth and him from their curses, heading out
to the battle strategy meeting with Rueduciel
They begin the meeting in earnest, Merlin explaining
that they have three major squads: one to defend Liones, which will be headed
by Dreyfus, Griamore and Howzer, another to take on the majority of the Demon
Clan’s armies, led by Sariel and Tarmiel and the final one making a direct
attack on Camelot, consisting of Rueduciel, Escanor and Merlin to minimize
casualties. The Fairy and Giant clans will also be sending armies to support
Sariel and Tarmiel, who will have Elizabeth and the other Seven Deadly sins to
support them and stop Meliodas from getting the other Ten Commandments.
Rueduciel requests that Hendricksen be her
bodyguard, Dreyfus objecting, though she says that Hendricksen wants this.
Gilthunder says he’ll come as well to protect Margaret, which Rueduciel
accepts, saying that they are allies in this war
The chapter ends as Cusack and Chandler transform
into their true demonic appearances, saying they may be a bit old, but they
need to show off their strength in this battle that may rival the holy war of
3000 years ago.
