The next Jump Start, Noah’s Notes,
by Haruto Ikezawa, who did Mononofu a few years back, features Mirai, a high
school student who hates studying and especially isn’t interested in history.
But when she finds a mysterious artifact, she’s recruited by the Scholar
Society and Professor Noah to explore the bizarre circumstances surrounding it.
The artifact revealed to be from 100000 years ago in a society much like modern
day, which came to an unexpected end. The two are attempting to stop the loop
from happening again in 4 years and destroying modern society.
Dr. Stone 50
We flashback to a month in the past
at Tsukasa’s empire, when Hyouga was freed from stone. He challenges 10 of
Tsukasa’s soldiers to a match while he wields his spear, defeating them easily.
The progress of Tsukasa’s kingdom is
impressive, a stone structure build out of the side of a mountain along with
attached tree house areas.
Tsukasa speaks to Gen and Hyouga
about his vision for the world, wanting to live naturally, not in a modern
fashion where the haves leech off of the have-nots and keep people in wage
slavery as one of the women notes was the situation, though she was a fan of
Tsukasa before the stone incident, her support a bit biased
Hyouga is asked by Tsukasa what
people from the old world would do if they gained such scientific weapons as
existed before. He says they would try to eliminate anyone who opposed the old
regime and rebuild the power structure they once had.
The two agree that the world needs a
culling, unable to support the 7 billion people that once resided on it (though
a chunk are likely dead anyway from their stone forms being smashed as we’ve
seen).
Tsukasa again emphasizes his idea
that the young should be the ones to rule the world, probably not referring
strictly to people of a certain age, but those who have a youthful perspective
to change things, not stuck in the past
His goal now is to take out Senkuu
so that any possibility of science coming back as it once was is snuffed out
for good and Tsukasa states that he is willing to do anything to preserve his
vision of a new world.
In the present, Hyouga reveals that
Senkuu is not only alive, but that the village has advanced their science a
great deal, Tsukasa furious at this turn of events
Senkuu notes to the others back at
Ishigami that they don’t have the materials or time to make gunpowder or the
restorative formula to release people from stone. Nitric acid isn’t around the
area at all, Kohaku saying they need to launch a preemptive attack to take
advantage over Tsukasa’s greater numbers
But Senkuu says that they’ll do that
once they make the greatest scientific invention ever, the cellular phone,
controlling the aspect of communication in war. With Taiju and Yuzuriha as their spies to
convey information about Tsukasa’s army, they’ll turn the tide in their favor
While the others are still
processing the idea, Gen is taken aback by the absurdity of such a proposition,
making such advanced tech in the stone world.
As we see the map of things that are
needed, including a battery, solder, vacuum tube and microphones/earphones, Gen
is still skeptical, while the Ishigami villagers are mixed between confusion
and excitement at what can be done.
Senkuu tells Gen that it’ll take
some time, but if they persist they can do this, like they made the sulfonamide
before, the chapter ending on this resolution.
We Can’t Study 54
We get a few pages celebrating White
Day in Japan, when guys give something in return for the girls’ presents on
Valentines a month ago. Fumino, Rizu, Asumi and Uruka are turned into candy,
while Mafuyu is refusing to eat them, though Fumino and Rizu, a piece of candy
and macaron respectively, comment that eating sweets will make them fat, the
alternative to being turned into candy in this situation
The chapter proper begins after what
appears to be a dream sequence with Mafuyu and the sweets as Yuiga and Asumi
are headed somewhere on a moped. We flashback slightly to Yuiga learning that
the maid café is trying a housekeeping service, driving around to do people’s
housework for them. They ask Yuiga to offer some help to Asumi, which he
accepts, though Asumi says his support should be enough, confident she can
handle things
But when they arrive, we discover
their first client is Mafuyu, who tries to keep Asumi out and pay her, though
Asumi refuses to leave without doing work.
Mafuyu notices Yuiga, pulling him in
for 30 minutes, cleaning up expertly with his help so that Asumi doesn’t have
to do anything, the two heading off to their next client
Moving to Uruka’s house, we see her
mom is sick, Uruka offering to help, though her mom says she’s already called
housekeeping, since Uruka’s likely tired from studying and swim practice
When she opens the door, Uruka is
shocked to see Yuiga and Asumi there, both of them stunned as well that this is
their next place to clean.
Asumi is ready to work, but Uruka is
so embarrassed at the idea of Yuiga being there that she does the cleaning and
cooking instead of Asumi, who is irritated, even though the cooking is very
good
The next client is Fumino, Asumi not
even surprised at this point.
But when Fumino realizes that Yuiga
is suspicious of her asking for housekeeping when she told him she was good at
cleaning and cooking, she panics, trying to pay Asumi.
She’s forced to admit she’s hungry
at the very least, ordering udon from Rizu’s restaurant, meaning they didn’t
have to do any work, Fumino apparently deciding she didn’t need the kitchen
cleaned
Asumi is still angry at not having
to do any work again, Yuiga leaving. But she stops him, cleaning his house, his
siblings amazed at how well she did. She even offers to clean their ears,
considered a very intimate kind of service in Japan, a sign of deep trust and
the like.
Yuiga is offered a spot on her lap
as well, taking it reluctantly as she teases him by saying she’d do it for free
instead of the payment she got along with cleaning the house.
The chapter ends as Rizu, Fumino and
Uruka bring up that Yuiga already knew Asumi was a maid, but kept it from them.
Black Clover 149
We see Patri utilize another
Forbidden Magic of the elves, Evil Eye, putting Rhya’s soul into a human body,
having to gather a great deal of mana to do so.
The scene shifts as Patri also
awakens Vett and Fana’s souls, the latter sharing the same name with her host,
which Patri sees as destiny
It will still require much more mana
to revive everyone of the elf clan, Patri’s plan to use the 3 he’s revived
(apparently Patri is supposed to be male, though the elves tend to be
androgynous anyway) to do so and sacrifice human lives to bring back the fallen
elves.
In the present, Rades, Valtos and
Sally wonder what “Licht” meant by saying that they will be the foundation of
resurrection, hoping to gain the power he promised them.
But Rades and the others notice
their bodies starting to decay or change in some way, collapsing to their knees
as “Licht” says they were marked as sacrifices since he took them into his
organization and gave them “true names”
Rades resists, Sally and Valtos
wondering why they were betrayed like this, asking “Licht” if they were
precious to him.
“Licht” says they were, but only to
revive his true comrades, their bodies blackening and falling to the ground as
the souls put in them are released, likely to be put in new bodies
The other Eye of the Midnight Sun
members suffer a similar fate, their souls ripped from their bodies and floating
away from the base
People across the kingdom see this,
some even glowing like Yuno did, such as Gauche and his sister Marie, lights
erupting from them.
Asta asks what’s going on as Rhya
says this is the end of the age for humans.
Mimosa and others are shocked to see
that Yuno and other seemingly more powerful Magic Knights have now been
possessed by the souls of elves, markings appearing on their faces to indicate
this
The chapter ends as they begin to
use their magic against their friends, Patri saying that now the elves will
have their revenge.
Boku no Hero Academia 175
Everyone’s preparing for the
cultural festival the night before, Class 1-A especially excited and
enthusiastic, Ashido’s coaching intense for everyone, which impresses Sero and
Kirishima as they watch. Even the band is nervous for similar reasons
They’re shooed out by Hound Dog,
some of the class going to sleep, while others still can’t sleep from the
excitement.
Iida wonders if everyone else will
be excited, but Jirou says they shouldn’t be worried, but just relax and
perform as usual, having fun with it rather than being overly self conscious
Deku and Aoyama notice the rope that’s
meant to suspend the latter is frayed, Deku planning to go to a shop nearby
that opens up early so he won’t miss their performance starting at 10AM.
Everyone starts going to sleep around midnight, genuinely needing rest for the
performance the next day
In the morning, Deku and All Might
are training, Hatsume finding them and giving Deku the support items they
talked about before, special gloves, surprisingly compact, which All Might is
impressed at. They even match well with Deku’s costume, Hatsume proud of
herself for putting in such work, saying she’ll sleep for over a day with how
much time she’s put in recently.
Deku breaks in the gloves with All
Might, but is pressed for time, managing to get the rope and rush back. He
bumps into some people, revealed to be Gentle and La Brava in disguise, though
Deku doesn’t realize this
As Deku observes that the house they
came from must’ve been a café, since Gentle revealed he had been drinking
Imperial Golden Tips before, Gentle compliments him for knowing such a thing
But when Deku reveals that he had a
friend who gave it to him, Gentle starts to realize that Deku must be a Yuuei
student, Deku putting the pieces together as well and thinking that this must
be Gentle with his fixation on tea.
The two square off, Gentle telling
La Brava to direct the camera to Deku as All Might’s successor readies himself
to fight, saying that he won’t let Gentle ruin the culture festival as the chapter
ends
One Piece 898
Germa 66 pushes back Big Mom’s army
slightly, Ichiji telling Sanji to take Luffy and get away while they focus on
getting revenge for being tricked by the Yonkou.
Mont D’or and Duke Chicken are
infuriated that they were deceived, Nusstorte and his fleet shown to have been
defeated by Germa 66 as we saw before.
Jinbe and Nami wonder if they should
trust Germa 66, since they did help before, but their appearance now a bit more
suspicious in a way.
Sanji contacts Jinbe with a Den Den
Mushi, telling them to go through the port and that he’ll get there with Luffy
soon.
The army tries to get Sanji, but he
avoids them effectively, while Brulee reveals that Luffy actually beat Katakuri
in the end, not tricking him like everyone thought, though everyone’s still
skeptical of this claim.
As they try to take down Sanji, Oven
in particular rushing at him with his bisento, Ichiji blasts him and others
with Sparking Valkyrie, seemingly turning into light and striking through them
with the force.
Yuen, the guy who knocked Sanji down
last chapter, rushes at him again, but Yonji grabs him and uses Winch Beheading
to throw him around, smashing other people in his wake
Niji grabs Sanji as someone shoots a
missile at him, using his Henry Blazer Electromagnetic Sword to move past
everyone in a flash
Another group moves to fire tear gas
at Sanji, but Reiju uses Pink Hornet to disable them, the chapter ending as
Sanji and Luffy are nearly at the Sunny, Nami’s group overjoyed to see them
Seven Deadly Sins 258
Meliodas and the others are still waiting for
Estarossa, the Sin of Wrath wanting to absorb the 5 Commandments they have now,
including Zeldris’.
Zeldris is willing to give his up, not worried about
being weaker than the Four Archangels, though he reminds Meliodas that he has
arranged a trade with Meliodas that he expects his brother to honor when he
becomes Demon King. We see Meliodas absorb the 5 Commandments, his power
increasing
Elizabeth senses many Demons moving from Camelot,
Merlin approaching her and bringing up how she once said both she and Arthur
awakening their power would be necessary to win this war.
But she was partly lying about Elizabeth, since when
that would happen her curse would also activate. But with Arthur out of
commission, they have to rely on Elizabeth’s power, the Goddess not worried,
since she has her friends with her.
King and Diane are training, the new clothes made by
Merlin much stronger and flexible, King getting a nosebleed at how tight they
are on Diane’s body. She still treasures the ones he made her, King asking if
Diane would marry him once the war’s over, but before he can get that out,
Escanor interrupts them.
He’s irritated at them being all lovey-dovey, but
Gowther tries to cheer him up by imitating Merlin’s voice, upgraded again for
the war.
Escanor coughs up some blood, possibly still
weakened after his fight with Meliodas in his powered up form and using so much
of his Grace from Mael.
The war party is heading out, everyone encouraging
them. We see Deathpierce and the others are being brainwashed in some way by
Rueduciel’s Breath of Bless, focused on killing the demons.
Sariel and Tarmiel wonder why Hendricksen isn’t
under the same spell, Rueduciel asking Hendricksen if he wants to help Dreyfus
instead. But the two understand the paths they have chosen even if they split
ways now.
Rueduciel rallies to troops to action, everyone
stunned afterwards at the mass of Demons and even Albion Golems ready to fight
against them.
But they regain their resolve and move to fight as
the chapter ends on the Second Holy War beginning in earnest.
