Dr. Stone 10

We see Senkuu in the past as a 1st grader, saying he’ll go to space, confident he can achieve it sooner rather than later. His dad wants to help, selling his car to get Senkuu the equipment he needs. From there Senkuu continued his pursuit of science, growing in knowledge by leaps and bounds

Taiju even helps Senkuu when some bullies try to destroy one of his experiments, Senkuu getting them back with another gadget

Afterwards, Taijuu continues to aid his friend in spite of not really knowing anything about science, constant explosions and failures happening as they work on Senkuu’s various ideas.

Taiju asks Yuzuriha to make some passengers for a small rocket that Senkuu’s working on, Yuzuriha crafting some dolls in her, Senkuu and Taiju’s likenesses.

The rocket explodes mid ascent after launch, but he managed to get a picture of the dolls floating into the exosphere.

This motivation continued to the present, Senkuu refusing Tsukasa’s offer to stop doing science in order to keep himself alive.

Tsukasa says he’ll kill Senkuu as fast and painless as possible, severing his spine in one strike

But he also muses that if they had met before the Stone World incident, maybe they could’ve been friends.

The chapter ends as Taiju arrives a bit too late, Senkuu falling over as Tsukasa has struck him.

I doubt Senkuu’s dead, but something has happened and Tsukasa may have changed his mind in some way. We’ll see

Black Clover 109

Meleoleona explains that the hot spring they’ll be training with is at the peak of Ultime Volcano, constantly spewing lava because of the powerful mana underground.

Even Sol decided to tag along for Charlotte’s sake, in spite of the risk she sees now.

Leo challenges Asta to see who’ll get to the hot spring first, Asta agreeing. He also challenges Yuno and decides that since he’s Asta’s rival, he’s also Yuno’s rival.

The sheer heat is overwhelming to most of the participants in the Crimson Lions, but Yami and Charlotte push forward, seemingly unaffected by the magma.

Leo discerns it as Mana Skin, forging the mana that the body emits into a form of armor to protect them against the elements. It’s an extension of magic we’ve heard about in the past that can enhance the body’s physical abilities, such as Yami increasing his strength.

Yuno grasps it almost naturally with his mana talent, running ahead of the others.

Yami thinks the whole point of this training was to use the Magic Knight captains as an example to improve the capacity of the Crimson Lions.

But we see Noelle, with her difficulty controlling her magic, isn’t having an easy time with the environment, in spite of her element being ideal for the fire element region

Meleoleona tells Noelle that she sees potential in her, changed from her younger self, Noelle ready to try again and push through this challenge, inspired no doubt by Meleolena mentioning her late mother’s determination in the past

Asta, meanwhile, is having no luck, since he can’t use magic to protect himself, almost collapsing with the heat.

Meleoleona tells him he can give up, thinking that he might’ve just been lucky with his sheer guts and physical prowess giving him no aid in this situation.

Asta says that what anyone wants won’t just happen with luck, Meleolelona saying he should try and prove himself to be more than just his good fortune.

The chapter ends as Asta gains a second wind, thinking his accomplishments will be the true mark of his potential.

Boku no Hero Academia 137

Deku’s group continues training at school, on standby from Nighteye’s mission, since Eraserhead notes they won’t have a major role in contrast to the Big 3, who are Pro level in their skills. He also wonders if anyone apart from Deku really feels like they should participate, since only Deku has a direct stake in this.

But Uraraka and the others want to help, not willing to let this knowledge be ignored if they can contribute in any way. Eraserhead warns them that they can’t be reckless, especially if the Villain Alliance is also involved, the danger increasing greatly with that scenario.

Deku is especially worried about All Might’s impending death through Nighteye’s prediction and Eri being in danger, unable to fully focus on one or the other.

Iida and the others are worried about Deku, saying that he can talk to them if he’s really struggling with something, like Deku said when Iida was focused on revenge for his brother and fighting Stain

Deku is happy that they’re concerned, focusing himself and saying that Heroes don’t cry just because things get difficult. Todoroki thinks he’s wrong, that there are times when Heroes can and should cry.

The Heroes continue their investigations and eventually discover that Eri is indeed at the home base, Deku and the others also included in the strategy meeting

Nighteye confirmed Eri being in the area because of a member of the Eight Precepts of Death buying a toy for young girls that he was clearly unfamiliar with himself, meaning that Eri was the intended person to have said toy.

With Foresight, Nighteye even confirmed that he was giving it to Eri, everything falling into place for their plan.

Mirio’s especially enthusiastic, Nighteye thinking to himself that Mirio was right to stop Deku, his feeling that he failed not as important as his response to how things turned out. Nighteye even says that can change the past, interpreting it more optimistically and use it to try and change the future.

The chapter ends as everyone is mobilized to attack the headquarters where Eri and Chisaki are, Overhaul aware of the group’s arrival

Magi 347

We see Alibaba and Sinbad fight, while Arba wonders if there’s even a point to it, since things won’t change if Alibaba wins, but Sinbad means everything returns to the Rukh.

Alibaba insists he won’t be drawn into the Rukh, even if it’s some destiny from the gods, Sinbad commenting that he’s just like Aladdin, not understanding his greater plan of destiny.

But Alibaba retorts that Sinbad’s just running away from people understanding him, not wanting to be understood for some reason.

Sinbad notes that his goal is to free people from destiny, able to change their future as they desire. But a greater power is needed to revolutionize the system.

Not understanding that destiny is held in the hands of someone greater than you can be a benefit, but once you realize such a thing, the idea of free will seems to disappear

Alma Torran is the example he uses to show how people fighting against destiny on such a small level only creates more destruction and despair, even Ill Illah falling into despondence.

Sinbad emphasizes how he wants to destroy that system so people don’t feel that hopelessness ever again.

Alibaba understands how Sinbad wants to fight for everyone and make it so they can feel truly free

However he also thinks that Sinbad forgot his cause of helping others and instead couldn’t get away from his own attachment to how things were, just wanting to destroy everything instead of thinking of some way to help everyone without taking away their individuality. If anything, Sinbad has fallen victim to the very thing he accused humanity of being subject to, not superior in any way at his core.

Sinbad realizes this, but says that he can’t just let Solomon’s world remain as it is, someone else eventually being crushed by the despair of destiny and fighting against it, deemed fallen by Solomon’s rules.

Alibaba responds that they should focus on living in the present rather than focusing on some far off future.

However, that was his response before he heard Sinbad’s argument.

After dying and being revived, he’s become different in his perspective and has another solution, the chapter ending as he begins to explain it.

Seven Deadly Sins 216

King is awakened by Oslow, thinking it was a dream that he and Diane kissed, but the giantess confirming it wasn’t, to his embarrassment.

He asks why Diane kissed him, the Sin of Envy saying it was as thanks for keeping his promise from 200 years ago.

She says that Gowther in the past did give her back the memories Doll Gowther had manipulated as a gift (making me wonder about that whole spell to send people back in time and if that’s become a plothole now or just didn’t happen on panel).

Diane is regretful at how angry she got at Gowther for what he did, now understanding they weren’t such bad people.

She even confesses her love directly to King and asks if he feels the same way.

They kiss and Diane inquires about King’s back afterwards, the Fairy King discovering that small wings are sprouting. He’s a bit disappointed, but Diane says that Gloxinia confirmed they start off small at first.

The two see Gloxinia and Gerharde reconciling, though the former Fairy king’s sister says she and Rou were already resolved to what was going to happen, Gloxinia really having nothing to apologize for, because she had already forgiven him in a way.

Oslow seems hostile towards Gloxinia but Gerharde explains that he was just unfamiliar with him, since he was born after Gloxinia became a Commandment.

The Black Hound protected Gerharde and then took over protecting King.

Gloxinia remembers that he heard the voice of someone’s heart, implied to be Rou’s, who said he would be reborn as someone to protect Gerharde and all that’s dear to her.

Oslow playfully bites Gloxinia in spite of him complimenting Rou’s reborn form for his loyalty.

Diane and King leave for the kingdom, Gloxinia offering to stay as King’s representative while he’s gone. The pair resolve to also guide Gowther down the right path

Meanwhile, the rest of the Seven Deadly Sins are meeting up at the tower where they were imprisoned after being suspected of killing Zaratras.

Merlin explains that the king saw another omen, this time speaking about the moon appearing in daylight, mists permeating the kingdom and a misty mirage appearing to reunite the Seven Deadly Sins.

We see such a mirage appear, Oslow’s teleportation ability moving Diane and King to the tower, smashing it and finally bringing the whole group back together as the chapter ends.

One Piece 865

Caesar, with Brulee in tow, comes out of the mirror, checking on the situation. He’s confused as to why Big Mom hasn’t let out her piercing shriek even after the rest of the plan has gone as expected.

As Luffy moves to show the broken picture to Big Mom, Katakuri rushes to attack Bege, telling Perospero to kill the Vinsmoke family.

The Candy Man mocks Judge, saying that there’s no escape.

Sanji tries to tell Reiju to run, but she accepts her fate, happy that there is still good in their family with her black sheep of a brother

Jinbe and Pedro try to keep Katakuri occupied, along with Bege firing a barrage of bullets. But Luffy is pinned down by the Mochi Man’s attack, managing to stretch his arms to show the picture to Big Mom

She lets out the shrill cry that Bege mentioned before, many people falling unconscious.

Bege, along with the others, put on the earplugs, Sanji breaking his family free of Perospero’s candy.

The chapter ends as Bege moves to kill Big Mom, but we see Big Mom remembering Mother Carmel leaving them in Elbaf 63 years ago, a flashback starting

One Piece is on break next week

Fairy Tail 534

Jellal faces off against Acnologia, using Meteor to rapidly move to the Apocalypse Dragon’s location, but the energy from his attack is turned around and Acnologia blasts a wave of destruction, splitting the sea in two temporarily.

Having narrowly dodged it, Jellal wonders if he can really buy time by avoiding Acnologia’s attacks, worried there won’t be a world left afterwards.

Anna is still trying to force open the Ravines of Time, but to no avail, Zeref still keeping it shut with his new power through Fairy Heart.

Zeref begins his plan, connecting Fairy Tail’s door into the guild to the Ravines of Time. He muses how it’s ironic that this will be the end and the beginning of the world, considering how many people started and ended their journeys with this same door.

As Zeref begins to walk towards the Ravines of Time, we shift over to Lucy trying to rewrite the Book of END, some of the words popping, which indicates Natsu’s recent injury.

Lucy manages to start rewriting those words, having remembered them exactly.

The Ravines of Time are visible now that Zeref has opened them. Jellal vows he’ll keep Acnologia occupied in spite of the risk of him being sucked into the nothingness as well.

Zeref pauses as he hears Natsu speak, saying that Makarov always told him to promise he’d return when he went through those doors, seemingly recovered.

The chapter concludes as we see that Lucy is in a trance of sorts after having rewrote the words, something having happened in that moment.
