World Trigger is off this week
With Toriko concluding, it’s now a
question of the next to conclude: I’m feeling Magi or Fairy Tail, though it may
be the former with Fairy Tail stretching things out as it does.
Love Rush, sadly, appears to have
concluded, and rather abruptly in a way, though the signs were somewhat there
in the narrative, particularly with the seeming finality in the binding nature
of the betrothal kiss and how there’s very little way to get around it, though,
not having read it yet, I get the feeling Kokoro may get her heart broken.
Regardless of whether I’m right, I’ll say this: the ending put forth a really
good message about love, so I hope Yamamoto Ryouhei gets serialized again in
the future.
Black Clover 86
Fana attacks again, Salamander’s
Claw creating a swath of destruction that confirms what Vanessa had heard: that
the spirit of flame had the strongest attacks, enough to be considered a
military force in itself.
Asta manages to slash into the
Salamander’s body, composed of pure mana. He comments that Fana’s a lot slower
and can’t react as well to his attacks, so he, Finral and Vanessa could suffice
to defeat her. Vanessa agrees, thinking Asta is a great inspiration to them.
Asta tries to talk with Fana about
why she hates the Clover Kingdom so much, but she simply assaults him again
with flames, which he narrowly dodges
Finral uses his spatial magic to get
Asta behind Fana, Asta stopping short of hitting her with his swords. He
demands to know why she wants to fight them, why she holds such hatred and how
they could try to understand each other.
But Fana remembers her past, meeting
who appears to be Licht and being betrayed by a human who spoke of
reconciliation. This connects back to Vett’s flashback as well, the same venue
engulfed in flames.
Fana’s third eye manifests as she
insists she cannot trust anyone from the Clover Kingdom.
She manifests some crystalline
magic, her attacks now more unpredictable as the Salamander has grown in size
and the secondary attack type making things more difficult.
The chapter ends as Asta readies
what he calls a finishing move, ready to take on Fana’s flames of hatred.
People had a theory about Fana being
connected to the Fana that was spoken of in Mars’ flashbacks much earlier in
the series and her manifesting the crystals makes me think it’s still possible
that she survived and thus her grimoire may have become similar to Mars’,
mixing his with hers.
Boku no Hero Academia 115
We see someone talking about how
they’re disgusted at how things have turned out with All Might’s retirement.
People have mixed feelings on Endeavor and are concerned about what kind of
impact All Might not being the #1 Hero will have on society.
Endeavor is resolving incidents
well, but he’s too callous compared to All Might, too coarse. And for those who
were not in the everyday normal grouping of citizens, All Might was never an
inspiration to them.
Heroes are becoming less spirited in
the view of some and Villains, by contrast are creating groups of their own and
working in tandem, All Might’s disappearance creating a greater temptation than
before.
The Villain contacts one of Tomura’s
associates, who comments that things have gotten better for the black market.
Tomura also wants the League of
Villains to meet up again soon, the present separation meant to bring in new
members, though they’re strict on how they recruit. Dabi, for instance, is not
impressed with who he sees, his Quirk burning them to ash.
We find out that the person from the
beginning of the chapter is Twice, whose Quirk is Doubling, able to clone
himself. He did this initially, but the conflicts escalated between the
duplicates and eventually they started to fight, eventually leading to
significant killing. He’s not even sure if he’s the original anymore after all
that.
The people that Heroes save are the
normal ones, but with him being so crazy, he only feels accepted by the League
of Villains, looking for others like him.
Villains are still fragmented in
their loyalties, not all focusing on the League of Villains and its appeal, but
just making their own cliques and groups. There's even infighting within the Villain groups, some thinking the others are petty and not looking for a higher purpose
The important thing is introspection
to Twice, figuring out what you want to do with your life.
The chapter ends as we shift to
around when Class 1-A was taking their provisional license exam, All Might
having a serious conversation with All For One.
Seven Deadly Sins 199
King and Diane both rush Dolor and
Gloxinia, the former Fairy King impressed that they’d fight as such, but also
happy, since otherwise they’d likely lose almost instantly if they didn’t
attack with their full might.
Chastiefol’s true form in the
Guardian Mode narrowly blocks the Basquias spear, but is pushed back, the wall
stretching back and then quickly rebounding them into the structure, King
discerning it must’ve been made with Dolor’s magic.
But Basquias changes into its own
Guardian Mode, a giant bug monster, and King only dodges the first attack, the
Fifth Form of Chastiefol dodged and Basquias slashing him down, Gloxinia
thinking that was the best King could manage now.
Diane, meanwhile, assaults Dolor
with a barrage of blows with her hammer, but they don’t even faze him as he
knocks her back with a palm heel strike, Diane only surviving because of using
Heavy Metal.
She unleashes an army of golems, but
Dolor dodges their attacks, appearing to dance as he does so
And Dolor then knocks her back with
an even stronger palm heel strike, Heavy Metal not even saving her from being
knocked unconscious
Gloxinia and Dolor explain that
Diane and King are woefully ignorant of the limits they possess, Diane lacking
a strong connection to the earth and King not being a Fairy meaning that use of
Chastiefol seriously drains his stamina, since it’s unheard of for the Fairy
King to not have wings.
King says they should just kill
them, but the Ten Commandments of Repose and Patience note that this will be
their fate if they don’t meet their expectations.
The chapter concludes as they reveal
they intend to train the pair to surpass them for some unknown reason
Magi 327
Alibaba explains how he and Morgiana
were discussing Kougyoku’s decision to leave the International Alliance, Morg
saying that Alibaba supporting her on the basis of trying to avoid another civil
war doesn’t make sense.
Ultimately all they had was a fight,
Alibaba overreacting about the whole thing. Aladdin tells him he should try to
reconcile, though Alibaba is a bit resistant, saying he didn’t do anything
wrong.
But Morgiana arrives, the two
quickly apologizing and the situation resolved.
2 days later, something quite
unexpected happens, Kougyoku saying they are withdrawing their plan to pull out
of the International Alliance, thinking that someone like Sinbad is the best to
arrange the world in a way that will protect peace for many millennia.
Alibaba thinks it’s a bit weird, but
Kou as an empire has been more collectivist and focused on unifying the world. The more concerning part is what
Reim and Kina will think of this decision.
But the next day, we find that Reim
and Kina have both changed their minds, joining the International Alliance and
cancelling their departure respectively. They think Sinbad’s plan will be able
to create the kind of peace that will last thousands of years
The chapter ends as Aladdin and Alibaba
are confused at how everyone’s acting
One Piece 846
We see that Nami is being restrained
by one of the members of Big Mom’s army, impressed that Nami could summon such
a thunderbolt. But Nami notes that she was just manipulating Big Mom’s clouds
that appeared.
Meanwhile, Baum is being attacked by Amande, who uses a Meito, Shirauo, to slash at him, slowly killing him rather
than being merciful.
We shift over to Luffy, who’s
narrowly fighting off at least 2 different opponents and their forces, though
one comments that their armies are somehow weaker than they should be, Luffy
beating the Chess Barbarian Army easily.
As he tries to attack the Minister
of Fresh Cream, he’s thrust into a bizarre world that’s explained by the user
to be that of Books, which distracts Luffy enough for him to be attacked in a
pincer strike by two massive opponents, seemingly defeated by the power.
Nami’s Vivre Card is discovered, the
army thinking they stole it from Lola, though Nami insists it was a gift.
The army begrudgingly captures Luffy
and Nami alive, saying they have to take them back to Big Mom, but Luffy
resists
Back at Whole Cake Chateau, Sanji’s
shocked to hear that Big Mom will allow his crewmates to leave alive if he
agrees to not resist the marriage to Pudding.
Normally, with the Straw Hats having
attacked the Seducing Woods, defeated one of her Sweet Commanders and Luffy
eating all her candy back at Fishman Island, Big Mom wouldn’t forgive them. But
Pudding’s wedding is important to Big Mom, so much so that with the promise of
attaining Germa 66’s military power, she’ll let this insult slide.
We shift over to another part of
Whole Cake Chateau, Baron Tamago noting how Big Mom’s crew still seeks the Road
Poneglyphs, having acquired one at some point, possibly from Jinbe, but 2 other
ones that have important information to the Void Century in their possession as
well.
One of the Sweet Commanders, the
Minister of Juice, Charlotte Smoothie, wonders why they’re increasing security
on this place, but Baron Tamago explains that this is a risky point and they
need to protect this trump card of theirs in regards to the pursuit of the
secrets on Raftel Island that only Gol D. Roger’s crew knew.
It’s also revealed that Pedro used
to be a pirate captain and his return to the island is of extreme interest to
Tamago.
Brook, having eavesdropped on the
conversation from the adjacent room with his Yomi Yomi Fruit powers, explains
the situation to Pedro.
They think it’s virtually hopeless,
unable to attack directly and the crew scattered across the island making it
even harder.
The chapter concludes as they think
there’s only one way to do this and it means Pedro being the bait to draw out
Tamago.
Toriko 396 (END)
We have a time skip a few years into
the future, seeing Toriko communicate with his Appetite Demons.
It's revealed that Take’s Fairy Tale Castle restaurant is now a reality, able to serve GOD to
orphans. With the IGO and Saiseiya Association’s help, they artificially
cultivated GOD to make it easier to prepare and serve.
Ume is teaching cooking at a
culinary school, drawing interest just because he was one of the chefs who
prepared GOD.
Komatsu is reminded of an
appointment he has with Toriko, rushing over.
We see Toriko fishing as he was in
the first chapter, Komatsu arriving.
Toriko explains that he figured out
the secret behind the Gourmet Eclipse, actually caused by a near unseen Gourmet
Satellite covering the sun like a lid.
There are apparently also other
cooking utensils like that made by the Nitro to prepare planets, connected back
to the legend of a Demon King eating the sun.
But Toriko also sensed something
immense in scale with his new abilities after eating Acacia’s Full Course,
beings bigger than the Milky Way eating around it like a dinner table, which
occurred right after the Gourmet Big Bang.
He asked his appetites about it and
they explained that the Gourmet Gods all once lived in the Furthest Lands. The
explosion of their building appetite energy was what caused the Gourmet Big
Bang, scattering ingredients across the universe that resulted from it, each
family of Gourmet Gods saving some ingredients for their individual Full
Courses, parts of the universe shifting in color over the eons.
The father was Black, the mother was
White and the sons were Red, Green and Blue in order of oldest to youngest. And
it turns out the most powerful Gourmet Demon inside Toriko has white cells as
well.
What’s more important is that Food
Luck is essentially the Gourmet Energy from the Gourmet Gods scattered after
the Gourmet Big Bang.
Toriko catches something, a smaller
version of Giant Shell from Area 6, which the Gourmet Astronomy Research Team
has been cultivating as spaceships and Toriko was raising in the lake.
He and Komatsu prepare to leave,
Toriko not worried about time, since the Minimum Shell can travel at the speed
of light and make it so that their journey that could take years would only
seem like a few days on Earth.
Also, it’s revealed Coco, Sani and
Zebra are all on space journeys already, Coco and Zebra looking for the last
parts of their Full Course.
Terry has returned to her pack, so
she won’t be coming with them, since she’s competing to become one of the new
Eight Kings, since after their defeat by NEO, the original group, even after
recovering, have retired. Even beasts like the Troll Kong, Devil Orochi or
Regal Mammoth could be considered candidates now.
As Toriko and Komatsu blast off, we
hear of legends regarding amazing planets and other phenomena out in the
universe, including a herd of cosmic mammoths, each as big as a sun.
And the Furthest Lands are still
emphasized as an amazing place connected back to the Gourmet Gods and those
divine ingredients still waiting there.
The chapter and series concludes as
we see Komatsu and Toriko encountering various things as they enter a new
frontier of space and the ingredients out there.
It was a great series, though there
were definitely points that seemed to have pacing problems, such as arcs that
could’ve expanded upon the acquisition of ATOM, EARTH, and some other
ingredients in the Full Course.
And the possibility of still greater
enemies like the Gourmet Gods themselves and the different colored spaces of
the universe as well as the true identity of the Demon King spoken of in
legends, apparently even more powerful than NEO, all show that the series had
great promise had the popularity stayed consistent and not dipped down as it
did later on.
Fairy Tail 510
Gray and Juvia are stabilized, thanks to Brandish
shrinking their wounds, but her magic can’t affect Natsu anymore, the sheer
power of whatever’s inside him stopping it from working. Porylusica says much
the same, her expertise ineffective at this point.
Dimaria’s comment about Natsu being a demon makes
everyone wonder about it, Happy remembering about Zeref’s revelation that Natsu
is END.
Lucy won’t believe the idea of Natsu being a demon,
even though she fully admits he has flaws, she can’t think he has some hidden
side that he’s keeping secret from her, Evergreen and Brandish both noting
about how this could imply Lucy likes Natsu romantically, which Lucy vehemently
denies.
But smoke starts to come out of Natsu’s body, which
is growing cold to the touch.
We shift to inside Natsu’s mind, Zeref approaching
him to explain the gap in his memory before he met Igneel, also revealing that
he’s eventually going to die.
Zeref and Natsu’s parents were killed, along with
Natsu, by a Dragon, Zeref eventually resurrecting Natsu as END.
After meeting Igneel, Natsu’s memories are unclear,
Zeref explaining how the Dragon Slayer children already knew each other in the
past, though they weren’t aware of it in the present
Sting appears, replacing Zeref as he motions Natsu
to follow him, to explain the true nature of what lurks within him.
Meanwhile, Yukino, Kagura, Frosch and Lector are all
slowly dying from Larcade’s Pleasure magic.
Lector begs Sting to appear, their last hope, the
White Dragon Slayer striking Larcade; however, it’s not effective on Zeref’s
son
The Pleasure magic moves to affect Sting, but the
chapter ends as he squares off against Larcade after eating the white tendrils,
part of being the White Dragon Slayer.
