Black Clover 68

Noelle remembers Fuegoleon’s words that someone is only weak if they remain so rather than pursue improvement of themselves

Vett seems to recognize Noelle as royalty, but she says it doesn’t matter. As she moves to attack him, Noelle refers to herself as a member of the Silver family, Vett remembering it as a cursed family (or in Viz’s translation, the most corrupt).

He taunts her to attack him with her full power, Noelle blasting him with Naga Cannon. The power is such that even Vett can’t hold it back, the attack blasting out of the temple, people outside thinking it’s Neptune manifest.

We see that Vett actually got severely damaged, his right arm blasted off

The Beast Mage collapses on his back, remembering when he met Licht and losing people precious to him in a fire.

He revives with a second wind, a third eye appearing on his forehead. Noelle is paralyzed with fear at this new mana, Vett using Demon Magic to regrow his arm, with new more warped features.

Yami and the high priest are shocked at this power, no healing spell they’re aware of able to do something as drastic as that, their threat more evident now.

Vett uses another spell to unleash a blast of dark energy. Noelle is unable to fight back, too weakened from her last attack.

But as the attack seems to hit, we see that Asta used his Demon Dwelling sword to absorb the attack.

The chapter ends as Asta is still ready to fight, Vett saying that things will be different this time, true despair on the horizon.

Boku no Hero Academia 97

Deku’s mom still insists that she cannot trust Yuuei with what has happened, thinking that her son would be in too much danger

Deku insists that he made these choices himself in spite of the warnings from the teachers, but his mother says that just means they can’t be trusted with the responsibility. She also notes that her son can still become a Hero in spite of not going to Yuuei, because there are other options, not wanting to crush his dreams entirely.

All Might realizes how terrible this must be to Deku, since he admired All Might and wanting to go to the same school was important to him.

Deku runs out of the room, bringing back the letter from Kouta, thanking him for his rescue. He accepts that he doesn’t need to go to Yuuei, since he’s been recognized as a Hero by Kouta.

All Might transforms into his muscular appearance again, apologizing to Deku’s mother about how he mixed up his responsibilities and neglected his education, taking his admiration for granted and not realizing that he’s become his own person

In spite of how things are, he asks Deku’s mother to look to the future and trust that he will stand beside Deku to support his student and foster his growth, even if it costs him his life.

Deku’s mother begs him to not talk like that, saying that if he’s willing to make a promise to stick by her son and support him in his endeavors, then she will allow him to go to Yuuei in spite of the dangers she recognizes.

She also asks Deku to promise not to worry her anymore, her son promising with tears in his eyes.

As All Might and Deku leave, she thinks that Deku has grown up and become someone respectable and that she wants All Might to live, not to be self sacrificing to his own detriment as a person.

All Might comments that Deku’s mom reminds him of his master, since they were both strong willed people.

The chapter ends as Deku and the others move to the dormitories, the new building a focal point of the last page as well as all the students starting this new chapter in their lives.

World Trigger 149

Kidou says that he’ll allow Hyuse to join Tamakoma 2, but with a special condition: that Chika will join the expedition as well.

Kinuta explains further that this benefits the whole group. Since the expedition will be longer than normal, they have to replenish the Trion every so often, sometimes with the Trion of the members onboard. But with Chika, they’ll have to make fewer stops by comparison because she has such high levels.

Also, with her as part of the crew, they can make the ship bigger and increase the carrying capacity by association. They’ll need this, since they’re trying to recover people that were kidnapped by Neighbors.

Osamu inquires whether this means that Chika is required regardless of whether Tamakoma 2 is chosen, Kidou saying that is the case

They need to know Osamu’s decision soon, since Chika being on the expedition is an important variable in regards to planning.

Kinuta’s debating whether they should do this, since it’d make Chika more vulnerable in a sense.

But Kidou qualifies that Chika won’t be a combatant with this arrangement, she’ll defend the ship and be more support or an engineer in that respect.

Osamu realizes that this means Chika won’t be able to directly investigate, but Chika voices her support for this, saying that Tamakoma 2 already had the intention of joining the expedition, so this just means they have to try harder and Chika would still be involved regardless.

They agree to this, Kidou saying that the next topic is simpler, since they’ve agreed to let Chika join.

He says that Osamu’s group will not be able to make it on the A Rank expedition team. This is because of a number of factors, the most important being that the date for the expedition exam is much closer than normal, since they want to invest more time into training.

So even if they managed to get to the point where they could challenge A rank teams, they couldn’t be involved in the expedition because they wouldn’t be able to proceed fast enough relative to the exams themselves. Basically, they wouldn’t be able to attain A Rank fast enough

This means that they’re basically giving Chika to the expedition team and they can’t follow them

But Kidou further qualifies that since Chika joins, they’ll have more room, so they’ll be choosing a group of people from the upper B ranks, which includes Azuma, Ninomiya, Kageura and even Murakami potentially with his Side Effect

They have to get within the top 2 B Rank squads in the last 3 rounds remaining to qualify. Also, Hyuse has to advance from C Rank to B Rank through the proper channels, though they ignore that they can’t technically put in the forms as the date already passed.

It’s a tall order, but not impossible, the group thinking that they can do it, since they had the goal of getting to the top B ranks regardless. Hyuse says he’ll do his best, even if his goals are what motivates him rather than Tamakoma 2 overall.

Karasuma asks Rindo if he intentionally skewed the topic to discredit the idea of Hyuse joining, Rindo saying that Osamu requested that.

Netsuki realizes that Osamu learned this from the press conference a while back, where Netsuki planted a reporter to ask particular questions so he could respond in kind to better Border’s reputation. Karasuma agrees that Osamu’s very interesting as an agent and how he strategizes, the chapter ending as the next B Rank is soon to begin.

Seven Deadly Sins 182

Elizabeth is still confused at this, Zaratras remembering what happened as we see Meliodas tell Zaratras he won’t let Elizabeth go, referring to her as his woman, to the Holy Knight’s confusion.

Later, Zaratras explains that Bartras, with his Vision power, saw the future, adopting Elizabeth as his third daughter. Meliodas agrees on the condition that he is hired as a Holy Knight.

Zaratras is disbelieving at his strength, but is convinced as Meliodas quickly pins him in a sword duel. It was then that Meliodas was made a Holy Knight, keeping watch over Elizabeth, who was quite attached to him when she was young.

One day, Bartras saw the future again, the revelation about the Seven Deadly Sins being the guardians of the country confusing to them, since they don’t exist yet.

Merlin appears, saying she’ll bring them together with the help of Bartras’ visions, herself and Meliodas the last 2, having to get the other 5 over time. She is confident they will excel, the Sin of Wrath accepting this and saying they will proceed with the plan, in spite of Merlin appearing out of nowhere.

Meliodas even speaks about the Commandments, Zaratras saying that it makes sense now: the Seven Deadly Sins were chosen to be the best fighters against the Ten Commandments in the future.

Later, Zaratras is drinking with Meliodas, who’s managed to get himself tipsy enough to start talking about his past, revealing his age is over 3000 and that he’s tried various means to kill himself already, cursed to be immortal and unaging

Elizabeth sees Meliodas speaking to her as a child, promising that he will always come back to her.

The vision ends as Elizabeth cries, happy that her confidence has been restored and that Meliodas will be back.

We end the chapter as Meliodas is in Purgatory, not wanting to stay here as he speaks to some disembodied voice.

Magi 311

Arba decides to stop focusing on her swordsmanship, using a paralysis spell on Hakuryuu and Morgiana and then blasting them with two powerful elemental attacks. Hakuryuu manages to get them out of danger with Zagan, a massive hole where they were

Aladdin is finishing up his treatment of Yunan, Hakuryuu thinking that this must be a double that’s immortal through magical means, Arba’s real body somewhere else.

Hakuryuu goes to treat Yunan’s wounds while Aladdin faces Arba, the older Magi wondering if Aladdin can really face an immortal opponent and win.

Aladdin greets Arba, asking her to give Hakuei her body back and stop interfering with Sinbad. But Arba doesn’t regard him positively, demanding Solomon’s Wisdom. The Magi refuses as Arba starts to utilize Ill Illah’s power

The other Al Thamen members appear, now apparently mere dolls that she uses to her own ends. They combine their powers, enabling her to use Amon’s Djinn powers in the form of the Extreme Magic

They further show their power by manifesting 3 other kinds of Extreme Magic, Wind and Lightning among them.

Yunan warns Aladdin that he can’t stand against that as Arba releases the attacks all at once.

The blasts connect, but are suddenly deflected as we see that Aladdin can manipulate the dimensions more precisely than before, noting that it’s Strength Magic which allows him to do such things as his father did, the chapter concluding on this revelation

Bleach 681

Bleach is rumored to be ending around 685, though the official sources are somewhat unclear on this, the major support being from the final volume being released in fall of 2016. If it is true, this series will be the first since Naruto that I’ve had to conclude, though regardless, the series did announce last week that we are coming to the end of this arc, likely sometime this year. Andit would fit, since ending in August would be around Bleach’s 15th anniversary

Renji attacks Juhabach with Zabimaru, but the Quincy King uses the Almighty to break it into pieces, stopping the attack before it even enters the gate.

Meanwhile, Jugram is speaking to Uryuu as he dies. He says he doesn’t resent Juhabach, but is honored that he chose to take his power rather than Uryuu’s, his blind devotion still strong

Uryuu moves to leave, but Jugram asks him to use Antithesis and transfer his wounds to the former Stern Ritter, since he’s going to die anyway at this rate. He says that Uryuu cannot shirk this decision if he truly will put every action on the scales and move forward without regret, encouraging the Antithesis to save his friends.

As Uryuu leaves, we see Jugram thinking to himself that fighting for convictions is admirable, his hand releasing the grip on his sword and revealing the icon that Bazz B used when he was a child, showing that he had humanity as well in the end.

Back with Ichigo and company, Rukia is astonished at what Orihime tells her about Juhabach’s power and Orihime is anguished that she cannot heal Tensa Zangetsu, unable to use Shun Shun Rikka to reject and undo what has happened.

Renji tries to pick Ichigo up, Rukia saying they should stop and think rationally about this. He responds that that won’t help anything, Ichigo thinking that it’s pointless as well.

But he’s suddenly stabbed by Tsukishima, Ginjou appearing as well with Yukio providing transport to the area.

Ichigo is in shock at this seeming betrayal, but Tsukishima explains as he tells Orihime to use her power on Tensa Zangetsu again. He’s used his Book of the End to insert an event into Ichigo's past that allows her to reject what happened, Tensa Zangetsu restored.

Tsukishima asks if this means their debt is repaid, Ichigo assenting to this as he holds Tensa Zangetsu, the chapter ending as he moves forward to stop Juhabach.

Toriko 378

We see Aimaru and Brunch arriving, the Tengu Chef exhausted after using his Back Channel for so long.

But Aimaru isn’t disappointed at all, as they’re finally at the entrance to Area 0. Brunch thinks they shouldn’t go in, because their energy is getting sapped even being a couple hundred meters from it and they haven’t even eaten GOD.

Aimaru insists, saying this is the first time he’s experienced appetite and he must follow through, experiencing the true value of food, in eating it.

Brunch agrees, saying he won’t stop the Gourmet Knight. But before he leaves Aimaru behind, he notices something odd about the bubbling pool that goes into Area 0

Meanwhile, Ootake is still preparing GOD, his stamina being drained steadily by the intense process. But he’s encouraged by his memories of being frustrated by an ingredient and seeing Komatsu as a rival he must measure up to, persisting in his training.

As he continues, he hears sounds of someone preparing ingredients, thinking it must be Komatsu. He also meets Ume, who’s appeared next to him, the three resolving to prepare GOD and show their skills to the world.

Toriko is getting closer to GOD, but CENTER, the Blue Nitro who was elsewhere before, arrives, trying to attack Toriko, who’s saved by Terry, Kiss and Quinn, back from their training.

We see Zonge, in shock at the whole situation, beyond his ken, seen as the final boss in video game terms. Their group has been picked up by Quinn, along with Sani, Zebra and Coco

But he’s even more shocked as we see Chichi in a more muscular form, who says that he’s worried about Zebra, Sani and Coco, but since Acacia hasn’t eaten GOD, he still has something he can do as the chapter ends on him saying he brought something delicious along.

Fairy Tail 492

Everyone manages to figure out where Zera is contacting them from relative to the direction of her voice. Levy and Pantherlily recognize the voice near her, still communicated by the magic, as Gajeel, happy that he’s still alive after seeing him seemingly die by Bradman.

Lisanna and Mirajane are worried about Elfman, since he got separated from them, but they’re assaulted by Juliet and Heine. Mirajane uses Satan Soul and breaks free of Heine’s bindings, telling Lisanna that she’ll be enough for them and that she should head to the guild, Juliet and Heine irritated at her taking them lightly

Meanwhile, Elfman is walking with Yukino, Lector and Frosch, who are following him to Fairy Tail, since he’s the only one who heard Zera’s voice.

They encounter Sorano/Angel from the Oracion Seis, who recognizes Yukino as her sister, shocking the other three

Meanwhile, Mirajane is being pushed back by Eileen’s squad, but then reveals that she stole the soul of Plutogrim, the giant transportation we saw used by Tartaros, changing her form to become even more powerful than before. Her magic is evaporating the sea nearby, Juliet and Heine overwhelmed by the power and defeated in an instant.

But Mirajane is exhausted by using the ability, which consumes a great deal of magic power.

She’s shocked to find the pair was just two swords enchanted with personalities.

Eileen appears behind Mirajane, the fight far from over as the threat has gotten even more intense as the chapter ends.
