Black Clover 70

After Asta lands his blow, Vett moves to slash him with another Demon Beast Magic. Vanessa pulls him back into one of Finral’s portals, keeping him out of harm’s way.

Noelle is amazed at how strong her seniors are, since they were regarded as incompetent through most of the series, Vanessa a drunk and Finral a coward.

Vett realizes that Asta negated his healing abilities with that last blow, but also sees how the combination of Finral’s portals and Vanessa’s threads, which have a wide radius and are nearly invisible to the eye, undetectable by mana, is actually posing a challenge to him.

They try the tactics again, but Vett has already started to counter it, Vanessa telling Asta she’ll speed things up, letting him fight as he will.

She’s amazed at how Asta, so small and with no magic in his body, is fighting with such determination, reminding her of how she left her own family and took her destiny into her own hands.

Finral also remembers his past, seen as weak willed in his family that prided themselves on strength. His brother is second in command of the Golden Dawn, set to be the next head of the family, Finral regarded as little more than an errand boy for the Black Bulls

He started to deny reality, focusing on having fun above all else. Eventually he was taken in by Yami, who accepted that he has his own way of fighting and can benefit the Black Bulls.

Asta’s strength of will in spite of being so weak and regarded as useless in the world where magic is king makes Finral want to improve the Black Bulls as well with all his strength.

The fight is at a standstill, but Vett notices that they’re all weakening, and if they slip up, they’re all dead.

Vanessa and Finral think to themselves that Asta’s resolve and trust in them is something they can’t betray or let go to waste, putting their all into fighting. Asta responds to their encouragement by saying he’s trusted them from the start, pushing them further to fight at their best.

Vett wonders why they won’t give up, rushing at Asta.

The chapter ends as Asta says he can’t give up, stabbing his sword straight into the Beast Mage’s chest.

Boku no Hero Academia 99

As the challenge of the best room in Heights Alliance begins, Mineta thinks to himself that manipulating the egos of the other boys allowed him to cover up his true goal, to peek through the girls’ rooms.

The remaining boys are Bakugou, Kirishima, Shouji, Sero, Todoroki and Satou, the Explosion Hero already going to sleep. Kirishima’s room is manly, lots of encouraging hot blooded posters and a workout regimen.

Contrasting to that is Shouji’s room, minimalist and bare bones, the Tentacle Hero having few worldly desires.

Sero’s room has a strong Asian influence, lots of patterns suggesting an Oriental sort of style, impressing the girls.

Todoroki’s room is the most surprising, a classical Japanese style room, almost like they’re not in the same building at all. He put a lot of work into remodeling it in one day, putting in the tatami flooring and such.

Satou’s room is normal by comparison, though he reveals he was baking a chiffon cake for a midnight snack, the girls impressed with his skills, even though he was just doing it to train his Quirk, which requires lots of sugar to increase his strength.

Afterwards, everyone having their fill of the cake, move down to start on the girls’ rooms, the first Jirou, who has a musical theme, as expected, various instruments that she can play, at least slightly. Kaminari and Aoyama comment that it’s not a girly room, getting a taste of her Earphone Jack to their heads.

Hagakure’s is next, very cutesy. And Mineta just tries to peek in her drawers, seemingly not caring that she’s right there. Ashido’s is cute in her own way as well, Ochako’s plainer.

Tsuyu’s not feeling well, so they have to skip hers, the Frog Heroine poking out slightly, implying she’s not emotionally well, moreso than physically.

Momo’s room is cramped because of having to fit stuff from a normally larger room into something much smaller.

The votes are cast and, minus Bakugou and Tsuyu’s votes, the tentative winner is Satou, all the votes from the girls winning out because of the cake, which technically has nothing to do with the room itself.

Before everyone goes to sleep, Ochako pulls Deku, Iida, Todoroki, Yaoyorozu and Kirishima to talk with Tsuyu, who wanted to say something.

She’s sorry for being so harsh, even though that’s how she is, not holding back in saying what she feels. After finding out that they went through with it, she feels like a coward, being so negative to everyone and thought it’d be hard to be friends with everyone after that.

Ochako says that everyone felt awkward, so the room contest was a way to break the tension. The others apologize as well for not understanding Tsuyu’s feelings, everyone vowing to be more honest and friendly with each other from now on.

The next day, Aizawa explains that the provisional Hero license won’t be easy to attain, the pass rate only about 50%. So in preparation, they’re tasked with making special moves for the examination to acquire the license in the future as the chapter ends on the instructors preparing to teach them.

Seven Deadly Sins 184

The Holy Knights of Liones move to retreat, but are affected by Zeldris’ Commandment, Piety. Anyone who turns their back on him is considered to be disloyal to him and the Demon King by proxy, forced to submit to his rule.

Fraudrin compliments his fellow Commandment on his power, Zeldris wondering how they failed to conquer Liones. Suddenly, Fraudrin senses an immense presence from Liones Castle.

Meanwhile, Escanor’s ability to resist Estarossa’s ability impresses even the other Commandments, some even thinking he’s not human.

Estarossa recognizes Escanor as the one who beat 2 of his allies; Galan and Merascylla; Escanor warns him not to get overwhelmed by anger or his Commandment will turn on him as it did for Galan.

The Charity is not intimidated, smashing Escanor, who is seemingly overwhelming him by his speed and power.

But suddenly, Estarossa has to block an attack from Escanor, a follow up bringing him to his knees unexpectedly.

The Commandment of Charity is impressed, bringing out his sword. But Escanor slashes at him with Rhitta.

However, Escanor gets the damage, the others shocked at this. But Ban discerns that it’s like Meliodas’ Full Counter, but that it responded to a pure physical attack, with no magic in it.

Estarossa explains that his power is indeed Full Counter, but it only turns back physical attacks with double or more the strength they used.

Escanor is impressed, the chapter ending as he starts to utilize the full ability of his Sunshine power, saying that just because he told him his name just now, he won’t die in this battle.

Magi 313

Arba’s scorpion stings Hakuryuu and it seems like she’s taking him over, but her Rukh is forcefully pushed back into the scorpion.

Hakuryuu explains that since Kouen transferred his legs to Hakuryuu with Phenex, his Rukh isn’t compatible with her power anymore, like when Alibaba’s Rukh was mixed with Kassim’s after he died, making it distinct, a hybrid.

Arba retreats to her spiritual form, only having one other place to hide at Sindria Trading Company headquarters in one of Al Thamen’s dolls they use.

Meanwhile, Alibaba is making new deals at Qishan for Fanfan Trading Company.

He meets Aladdin, Morgiana and Hakuryuu, happy to see them after so long, not entirely surprised his friend had been keeping watch over him all these years.

Alibaba remembers his conflicts with Hakuryuu, apologizing for taking away his legs. But Hakuryuu is also remorseful for almost killing Aladdin, the two resolving their differences with a handshake as the chapter ends

Bleach 683

Juhabach continues to spread his power around Soul Society, Ichigo barely standing as the Quincy King asks why he didn’t have Orihime heal him. He thinks it could be because she was so weakened herself or even that he didn’t want to waste time to follow after him.

However, he reminds Ichigo that his actions won’t change anything, emphasizing it to Renji as well as the Soul Reaper attacks him with Souou Zabimaru. The Soul Reaper is blasted back, his Bankai shattered as Juhabach says that all Bankai have been broken in the future he sees.

Aizen rushes to attack Juhabach, summoning what is the strongest Hadou we’ve seen, manifesting giant dragons of reishi. But Aizen’s Kyouka Suigetsu blade is also broken as Juhabach knocks him back with a single blow.

Ichigo rushes from behind to attack, but Juhabach blocks the blow, praising Ichigo for at least trying, but pitying him for his futile attempt to damage him and allying with his former enemy to do so.

Tensa Zangetsu is shattered and Ichigo is hit with immense force, his arm ripped off as well and a hole pierced through him.

But Aizen reveals he’s been using Kyouka Suigetsu, possibly since he first encountered Juhabach, Ichigo actually safe as he stabs Juhabach from behind and slashes him with Getsuga Tenshou as the chapter ends with a severe wound dealt to the Quincy King.

One Piece 332

People hear about Sanji dueling Judge, Yonji repairing his mechanical parts as he’s impressed at how strong his brother has become. An assistant uses a press machine to fix the damage, Yonji wondering how Sanji could have gotten so strong.

Sanji’s fight against his father is underway, spectators impressed at his strength, not even using a suit or such to enhance his power.

Judge insists that he recognizes them as family, but Sanji says he’s only here to protect his crew. His father asks if he’s willing to sacrifice them to Big Mom for this betrayal, but Sanji says they’re no family of his.

We flashback to his childhood, beaten up by his siblings and ignored by his father, mocked by his sister for his weakness and inability to meet up to their standards.

Sanji manages to block Judge’s attack with his leg, his father recognizing it as Haki. He demands that his son use a weapon, but Sanji says he’ll only use his hands to serve food, enraging Judge with the idea of his son still serving lower class people as royalty.

Judge leaps at Sanji, stabbing downwards with his spear. Sanji counters with Diable Jambe, but his father grabs his leg, throwing him down as he emphasizes how technology advances through conflict and war.

His own leg is bathed in electricity, smashing Sanji and knocking him away with a rocket enhanced kick as a follow up.

Sanji asks his father whether he should really respect him at all, since he was treated like an animal, caged up and muzzled, not having any good memories with his so called family.

Sanji moves to attack, but Judge uses the same command word as one of his other siblings did, Wall, which makes the soldiers nearby serve as a human shield. Judge stabs through one of them as Sanji attacks, knocking him into a wall as the battle is finished.

As he’s recovering, Sanji is castigated by his father, who explains that he only set up this marriage because it would cement his power to conquer North Blue. But worse than that, he says that he never saw Sanji as his son, so marrying someone that just happens to have his blood is a convenient means to an end, not wanting to marry off one of his “real” sons.

Reiju puts some bracelets on Sanji’s hands, Judge explaining that they’re like the collars put on slaves by the World Nobles. They’ll explode if he tries to leave the island and only Big Mom has the keys to them.

The chapter ends as Judge says that this will ensure Sanji’s cooperation, that he will go through with this marriage whether he likes it or not.

Toriko 380

Toriko being stabbed by Acacia leaves Starjun and Teppei vulnerable to attacks from their opponents, the tables turning as GOD is nearing full preparation.

But GOD seems to counterattack Acacia as he and Toriko are on one of its scales.

And then we see the Eight Kings all preparing their attacks, Acacia able to stop them with his evolved Back Channel, freezing them in that moment as he prepares to eat Toriko

But Toriko grabs his arm, still resisting. Acacia says his efforts are futile, snapping Toriko’s neck with his arm.

As he’s moving to eat GOD, Toriko moves to stop him again, but now his form is being taken over by his 3rd Demon, Acacia smashing him away as he likely sees the threat it poses, since it managed to take off one of his hands. He takes a bite out of GOD, having succeeded in his task.

However, at that moment, Bambina attacks, along with the other 8 Kings.

This doesn’t seem to faze NEO in the slightest, a flash of light revealing another change from eating the supreme ingredient of Acacia’s Full Course.

The new form is frightening, NEO having stopped Bambina, tearing off part of its body in the process.

The Monkey King tries to attack, but NEO eats the blasts, leaving him as Heracles then attacks.

The chapter ends as NEO blasts the Horse King down, Acacia realizing this is the true power of his Appetite Demon

Fairy Tail 494

Mavis and Zeref continue to speak, the Black Mage noting how he was still able to feel and hear Mavis all these years.

Mavis thinks to herself that her plan still requires something, even with her acquiring a body, but before she can elaborate, she’s frozen by Invel.

The Winter General thinks that he must do this to keep Mavis from using Fairy Heart, but Zeref responds that she knows how dangerous it is and that he must free her at once, since she was immobilized for almost a century, Invel complying.

But in spite of her body being freed, Invel has attached a manacle to her neck, binding her mind in some way, restricting her thoughts. Zeref finds this an acceptable compromise, though he still thinks Invel worries too much.

Mavis, open to suggestion now, follows Zeref outside, in shock at the massive army that has moved into Magnolia.

We see Azir and Jacob are still able to fight, having recovered in the meantime and ready to fight to their fullest now.

The rest of the Spriggans are here as well, even Wahr Icht, his body recovered, and Serena, in spite of his seeming death by Acnologia.

Mavis is in shock at August’s presence as well as Rakheid’s, not able to comprehend his magic. Zeref notes that Rakheid is a secret weapon, supposedly able to even be able to defeat Acnologia.

It turns out that Wahl, Bradman and Serena are all indeed dead, Neinhart recovered enough and expending his Historia power to manifest them to fight. With a million soldiers and the Spriggan 12, Eileen comments that Zeref has a perfect defense now.

Mavis is still overwhelmed with the magical powers present and is disbelieving at the possibility that Eileen could isolate her Fairy Heart magic, under Zeref’s orders

Zeref thinks no one can stop him now, with all his power amassed in one place.

Meanwhile, Fairy Tail rests for the new day, Erza saying this may be their last dawn. But Natsu awakens, saying that they will press on and fight for another day, to save their town, their guild, their world.
