Black Clover 71

Asta has seemingly struck Vett fatally, but the Beast Mage grabs the blade and sends a wave of pain through the Black Bull, saying he did so on purpose, avoiding any vital spots.

In spite of being thrown back and Vett saying that there is nothing they can do, Asta still tries to move and fight. Vanessa stabilizes his body with her threads, thinking to herself that Asta may have been fated to be born without magic so he could use this great anti magic power on enemies like Vett.

Finral opens another portal, Asta going through it and drawing his other sword as Vett asks why Asta keeps fighting. Asta replies that his rivalry with Yuno is what drives him and he won’t lose to despair

Vett thinks there’s no way they can defeat him, but is shocked to find he can’t follow Asta’s movements, the initial blade stuck in him weakening the enhancement magic that powered him

The Beast Mage rips out the blade as he cries out in fury, saying he can’t lose to mere humans. But Asta retorts that no one lost to him, no one gave up, everyone fighting to the end.

Vett thinks to himself that for the first time in a while, he’s afraid, Asta seeming to him like a demon that eats despair.

The chapter ends as Asta smashes Vett with an even greater blow with his cleaver blade, the end of this arc promised as well in the next chapter

Boku no Hero Academia 100

The teachers emphasize how important special moves are, representative of their identity as Heroes and symbolic of their individual talents.

Everyone arrives at TDL, Training and Dining Land (or Training Dream Land, if we're going with the Tokyo Disney Land reference), where Concretoss has started to put together various areas for the students to train their Quirks independently.

Iida asks why they must have the special moves, Aizawa and the others explaining that even though the test trains various aspects, including your ability to gather information and communication, alongside fighting ability, the latter is weighted especially, so having those moves can increase your chances of success.

When you have this, you can bring your own special abilities to the situation and change things accordingly. Even something like Iida’s Reciproburst, which only enhances mobility, can be a boon in a dangerous area.

The goal of the training camp that was ended by the Villain camp was partly to build the special moves after enhancing Quirk capacity.

So in the 10 days before the new term starts, this will be a boot camp to enhance their Quirks and develop special moves for them, as well as possibly improve the costumes for synergy.

The other students are progressing, but Deku’s stuck because of his limit on extreme activity, so as not to further damage his arms. Ectoplasm suggests that since he doesn’t have a solid idea of his fighting style, he should develop his Quirk itself.

All Might arrives, wanting to help Deku in improving his Quirk, since that’s his sole job now, a mentor to his protégé.

We see Bakugou, powerful enough to defeat one of Ectoplasm’s clones, the others thinking that they probably have already thought of ideas for special moves since childhood, all of them but Deku having been born with their Quirks since they can remember.

All Might simply tells Deku that he’s still trying to imitate the #1 Hero, noting that he can’t just tell him the answer, that he has to discover it for himself.

As for the costume, he directs Deku to a room on the first floor of the main building. Deku thinks he might be able to improve his costume in a way that allows him to push his upper limits of using One For All. We see Ochako and Iida are also looking for costume improvements and have ideas of what they want to focus on as Heroes in their special moves.

They notice Deku, but before they can get to him, the door explodes outward, Deku knocked away. Hatsume is chastised by Powerloader for being reckless with her experiments, but she insists that this is how she improves things.

Unknowingly, she fell on Deku and her cleavage is exposed as the chapter ends on Deku being flustered and Ochako seemingly jealous.

World Trigger 151

Ouji squad’s leader figures that their best strategy is to group up and take out Osamu. Since Tamakoma-2’s strategy hinges partly on his use of Spider and the wires to create an advantage for their squad, if the opposing squad takes him out, then they gain control of the situation.

Osamu has somewhat deduced this, thinking that he needs to use his Bagworm and spread the wires from cover. Chika will look for a sniping point and Yuma will cover her.

Meanwhile, Ikoma squad is talking about the new menu items from the cafeteria, serving as a counterpoint to Ouji squad being more analytical.

Ouji squad thinks about Osamu using Bagworm, noting that they can still discern where he’ll use Wires by the areas in the map. They consider that Yuma might use it, but it’ll affect his abilities, so it’s unlikely unless he wants to ambush them. Their main focus is keeping an eye on Yuma to assess where Osamu is to find his position and remove him from the battle as early as possible.

Yuma wonders if he should help Osamu, but Usami notes that he’ll just reveal Osamu’s position that way, the Neighbor thinking he might be better off drawing them away from Osamu to be targets for Chika.

Ouji unit has another issue in mind: what if they can’t find Osamu? Ouji has a solution: they combine forces with Ikoma in a pincer attack. Ultimately they’ll use their mobility and they have a general strategy against Ikoma already from previous battles.

Osamu emphasizes how important this is, Ouji saying that they’ll show the rookies how tough the upper tier is, while Ikoma continues to discuss food.

Meanwhile, Hyuse is waiting in the enlistment area, others thinking he stands out with his foreign looks and black uniform

The Border administrators, specifically Kinuta, Karasawa and Netsuki, think that this situation is troubling, having allowed 2 Neighbors into their organization so recently.

Netsuki wonders if they couldn’t have done something else, but Karasawa notes that if they’d just tried to bring Hyuse as a prisoner, they wouldn’t have been able to negotiate with Tamakoma 2 to allow Chika on the mission. With that in mind, they were able to focus the negotiations on that point.

But Netsuki still thinks they could’ve thought of another justification and taken Chika, but Kinuta and Karasawa say that they didn’t have the luxury of negotiating such things with the immediate usefulness of Hyuse demonstrated by Osamu.

The major concern is what happens when they get to Aftokrator, since Hyuse is still technically an enemy soldier. The possibility of a betrayal is prominent with regards to being in a foreign country as outsiders

However Karasawa has an easy solution: they take out Hyuse before they get to Aftokrator, so he won’t be a risk, still utilizing him as a guide beforehand. They could use other less violent methods, like drugs or imprisonment, but ultimately the end goal is the same

In both sides’ cases, they got what they wanted in regards to what happens before they arrive at Aftokrator, Hyuse satisfied as an agent in exchange for getting the possibility of going to the Neighborhood and Kido getting Chika’s Trion capacity to allow for a greater expedition ship and mission success in the public eye.

As to what to do when they arrive, they still haven’t decided. And if things come to it, they can ultimately fail them from the expedition selection, or they won’t succeed at all with the strict time limit they have. In the end, they hold more of the cards in all this as the administrators of Border, the ones who make the major decisions, not the agents.

We shift over to the 6th round of the B Rank wars, Tachikawa’s Operator Kunichika is commentating along with Kitazoe from Kageura and Isami from Fuyushima, referred to by Kunichika as the idiot 18 year old trio, even though Kitazoe has average grades.

The fact that Ouji chose Urban Area A makes the agents think that Tamakoma 2 won’t have as much of an advantage, since it’s not a map they’ve played in much, meaning the older teams might have a better chance.

The chapter ends as the 6th round begins in earnest.

Seven Deadly Sins 185

Estarossa warns Escanor that he shouldn’t use his Sunshine power or he’ll melt everyone behind him, the heat starting to get to the other Holy Knights. The Sin of Pride asks Ban if there’s a lake to the west of where they are, Ban saying there is, but not sure why he’s asking that.

Escanor knocks Estarossa back with a punch towards the lake. He then sends the Charity into the lake with a follow up and ignites the sun as it’s underwater, evaporating it instantly.

But it turns out Estarossa is fairly tough, able to avoid a mortal blow by summoning the same darkness Meliodas did in the past to shield himself, also regenerating the burns and wounds quickly.

He then utilizes that darkness to overcome Escanor’s Sunshine and as he’s attacked, he uses Full Counter to turn Escanor’s power back on him.

The battle seems to be strongly in Estarossa’s advantage, Zeldris moving to see the conclusion.

But as we’re told by farmers nearby that it’s almost noon, Estarossa is slashed across the chest by an unseen attack.

Escanor thinks that the demon was arrogant to say that he could turn back his power or suppress his sunlight.

Estarossa is in shock at Escanor’s power level still rising beyond what it was as the Sin of Pride manifests a massive sun.

The chapter ends as Zeldris tries to warn his brother, but the Lion’s Sin seems to evaporate Estarossa with the Cruel Sun power he readied.

Magi 314

Alibaba is getting caught up on things with Aladdin and the others, the Magi having a surprising tolerance for alcohol, while Morgiana warns Hakuryuu he’ll be a sad drunk.

The others are sad that Alibaba didn’t get to talk to them much, but Alibaba was certain they were safe if they were with Aladdin. They’re also brought up to speed about what happened with Alibaba after his fight with Hakuryuu

Alibaba, before he gets drunk, decides to saying something important. He tells Morgiana how much things have changed in the last 2 years, many people starting families. And any time he’s thought about it, Morgiana was there in his mind.

They’ve always been a support for each other in difficult times and so Alibaba proposes marriage to Morgiana.

The Fanalis thinks that he has a big challenge ahead of him to not disappoint her, Alibaba promising he’ll do his best as Morgiana accepts.

Aladdin encourages his friend as well, Morgiana and Alibaba dancing as a band starts playing, everyone remembering when the Fanalis first danced years ago and Alibaba thought she was beautiful back then.

The chapter ends as Hakuryuu leaves to find Judar, tracking him with one of the plants from Zagan and teased by Aladdin at his inability to find anyone who loves him.

Bleach 684

Juhabach seemingly disappears, only the Soul King’s black substance remaining.

Aizen compliments Ichigo for comprehending the situation and acting so quickly. He had already activated his Zanpakutou before they arrived, Ichigo somehow sensing that things were off, like when he utilized it against the Gotei 13 2 years ago.

It was also confirmed by Aizen that his power could interfere with the Almighty’s clairvoyance and Ichigo, who was unaffected by Kyouka Suigetsu because of the limitations of how it affects people, was the final piece of the puzzle.

But as Aizen thinks it’s ironic that Ichigo not seeing his Zanpakutou’s power would aid him like this, he’s seemingly taken down by Juhabach, who has reformed himself with the Almighty’s abilities, his own body absorbed into the Soul King’s powers.

Juhabach explains how his power is such that he could even rewrite a future in which he dies, knocking Ichigo’s Zanpakutou away as he engulfs him as well.

But as Juhabach moves to overtake the entirety of the Seireitei, Uryuu fires his special arrow that Ryuuken gave him, the special silver in it temporarily stopping the Quincy King’s powers.

It seemingly doesn’t matter though, Juhabach moving to stop Ichigo as he slashes with Tensa Zangetsu.

The blade is fully broken from the cracked state, but it’s only the outer shell, the true edge of Zangetsu appearing, the form more like Ichigo’s sword he used for a majority of the series.

Juhabach realizes that what he saw was a future where Ichigo struck him down, the chapter ending as he’s cut in half at the waist, truly defeated this time.

One Piece 834

Sanji flashbacks to being reminded that he can’t even try to force off the bracelets, the only way to remove them by using the keys. He’s frustrated at this situation, screaming in anguish.

Meanwhile, news has spread of Jinbe leaving Big Mom’s crew and supposedly fleeing in fear when she demanded he make the payment through roulette, creating the impression that he’s a coward and a traitor to put salt in the wounds.

Brook puts the pieces together, discerning that Fishman Island was under Big Mom’s protection because Jinbe became her subordinate in the transition of Whitebeard’s death. But he wonders if Jinbe’s changed his mind with the reports in the newspaper he’s reading.

Pedro points out something to Brook, Pudding occupied by people trying to help her decide on her wedding dress. This explains why she wasn’t able to meet the Straw Hats before, Sanji also not aware of them being here by association.

Baron Tamago is told by two soldiers about recent news: Luffy’s group has been reported to be in the Seducing Woods and they conclude that they’ll be captured soon, Pekoms not on board the ship. The only thing they aren’t aware of is where Brook and Pedro are.

Tamago says he’s aware of Pedro from the past and has an idea of where he might be, but tells them they should prioritize finding Pekoms. He intends to have him apologize to Big Mom, somewhat surprised at him being alive, but having some lingering sentiment because of their past history.

We shift over to another part of Whole Cake Island, discovering more about Big Mom’s family situation, the daughter we saw before that resembled Lola called Chiffon, who’s married to Capone Bege and even has a child with him.

Pekoms is with them, set to be thrown off a cliff into the sea where a group of sharks will make sure nothing is left of him.

The Mink is knocked off the cliff as we shift over to Big Mom speaking with Caesar.

Her goal is to share a meal with her family at eye level, Caesar’s research on gigantification the only way she can conceive of such a thing happening, which is why she funded it so much. She asks Caesar how the research is going, the Gas Logia saying it’s proceeding well

But Caesar thinks to himself that he’s found that it’s practically impossible to ensure an increase in size without any negative side effects, taking the money and spending it on himself, buying wine and women to satisfy his pleasures.

So he puts the blame on Luffy and Law for destroying his lab, saying that he can’t reproduce the results without proper funding and a lab comparable to the one he was using before, so close to success before.

Big Mom says it’ll be fine, since she managed to find blueprints for his lab and have a candy craftsman put an exact replica together, reinforced with iron. And she can provide the money, so it’s a matter of how much time Caesar needs to make the drug.

He tells her about 2 weeks at most, but in reality he’s at his wit’s end, still thinking it’s fruitless.

We see that Big Mom’s eldest son, Perospero, who’s eaten the Lick Lick Fruit, was the one who made the lab, will keep tabs on Caesar’s progress and if he fails, then he’ll become candy as well, which is apparently how his Devil Fruit works.

The chapter ends as we see Luffy has been trying to get out of the Seducing Woods to no avail, constantly bringing back duplicates of his friends, likely made from the inhabitants or such.

Toriko 381

Acacia and the Blue Nitro are trembling with excitement at the true power of NEO shown to them for the first time.

Before CENTER can make his preparations, a blinding flash is seen, Emperor Crow using the Emperor Shadow to cover everything in order to stop NEO in any way possible.

But NEO counters by vibrating its cells so fast that it generates a light to oppose it and leaps up, biting a chunk out of the Beast King, even eating the attacks it throws as a last ditch effort,

Suddenly, NEO is eaten by the Mother Snake, who coils up its body to concentrate the digestive fluids and try to destroy NEO.

Meanwhile, CENTER is fighting off the Battle Wolves, handing off the final portion of Acacia’s Full Course to PAIR, who betrays him unexpectedly by stabbing him through the chest. This is insurance to ensure that someone survives, since Gourmet Cell Demons can revive as long as they aren’t eaten by NEO or sealed away.

PAIR presents CENTER to Acacia, the consuming of this meaning that NEO will be fully revived.

Starjun is faltering against Joa’s Food Luck. But he thinks that Joa can’t use this constantly or they would’ve started the battle by utilizing this unbeatable power.

Joa retorts that he can’t do anything against this, Midora’s power even failing against this.

Starjun replies that Joa underestimated Midora, the Gourmet Corps Boss’ innate ability to copy any power what makes him truly dangerous, including copying Food Luck

Brunch is moving towards the major fight, but we see what he noticed before.

An explosion comes from the seas nearby and the can that Midora was sealed in is broken.

The chapter ends as Midora stands up, having utilized Food Luck to break out of his prison, ready to feast on his opponents now.
