Magi’s still on break until at least next week, if not later

Boku no Hero Academia 64

Momo tells Todoroki she had the idea from the start, Aizawa hoping they don’t notice that his use of the Quirk Erase power has become more concentrated from his injuries a few months ago.

The pair retreats as Todoroki finds his Quirk has been erased, Momo saying they should try to hide for now.

Her plan involves taking advantage of the moment when Aizawa blinks, using that instant when their Quirks are freed from his suppression to attack and get out of his line of sight so they can attack him when he’s vulnerable from a period of inaction to water his eyes.

Todoroki’s Ice power creates a giant glacier that blocks Aizawa from getting to them for a while, Momo creating a facsimile of Eraserhead’s weapon. She explains the plan off panel, concluding by noting that this will be decided in an instant, Todoroki confident they can pull it off.

Aizawa’s waiting for them, since he’s covering the escape gate from his position. He sees what looks like Momo and Todoroki escaping under black cloaks, since that technically blocks his Quirk from working on them. Aizawa seemingly captures them in his binding “tape”, but it turns out Momo created a mannequin to resemble their upper halves, hiding a catapult under the cloak.

It releases the weapon Momo created, Todoroki commanded to shoot heat under it. Aizawa’s confused, but Momo reveals that the special ingredient she added is a memory shape alloy that returns to its original form when exposed to heat, the tape binding Aizawa, the battle finished.

Momo wonders if Aizawa lost on purpose, since he pulled back as she was preparing to launch the weapon, but he says that he was focusing on Todoroki, since he thought he’d be frozen again, but it seems that Momo’s plan worked as she expected, the Creation Quirk user tearing up at her accomplishment and being acknowledged by her superior.

Meanwhile, after Recovery Girl announces that Momo and Todoroki are the first to win, we see the other teams having difficulty, the chapter concluding as Deku and Bakugou are seemingly defeated by All Might’s power, even at around 50% output, the #1 Hero noting that they may still have passed because they tried to work together.

Next week is an announcement, possibly an anime being greenlit, but also connected to a spin off manga called Boku no Hero Academia Smash.

Seven Deadly Sins 146

As Galan finishes off Ban’s soul, Merascylla is still upset at how he stole her prey. But Galan responds that he made the effort and he deserves the prize.

Jericho and Elaine see Ban’s body, seemingly now the hollow shell that Merascylla said it would become once his soul was consumed.

The two Demons bicker, Merascylla saying that she kept Galan safe, since he’s apparently so weak he couldn’t even beat an old man (possibly referring to Meliodas?)

But suddenly, as Jericho says she’ll avenge Ban, the Sin of Greed moves as if nothing happened, taking out Galan and Merascylla’s hearts and seemingly defeating them.

The three retreat, Galan still in shock at how Ban is alive even after he ate the Undead Sin’s soul. He leaps up, stabbing his spear at the town, causing massive damage to try to find his prey.

As Ban’s group recuperates, Jericho and Elaine wonder how Ban survived, Ban thinking he was done for as well.

We flashback, discovering that Zhivago’s soul took Ban’s place, serving as a decoy, while Ban got back into his body. Ban says he shouldn’t do it, since his real son wouldn’t be able to meet him, but Zhivago says he regards Ban as his son as well, and that Therion should understand. He tells Ban to live for the people he treasures as we return to the present.

Ban is weakened after Hunter’s Festival drained so much strength from everyone else, the two Demons closing in.

Jericho is told by Ban to take Elaine and run, but Elaine tells Jericho to take Ban and run, since she’ll just die again once Merascylla’s spell wears off.

The chapter ends as Jericho takes both of them, moving to retreat, saying they both owe her for this.

World Trigger 119

Yuzuru brings Chika and Izuho to Kageura Squad’s battle room, his Operator surprised to see him bringing girls back. She offers the kotatsu, but Yuzuru says they just need to use the training room.

Izuho wonders how Ema will help Chika with her inability to shoot people, the Sniper saying that he just has a Trigger he thinks might help Chika somewhat.

He theorizes that Chika is afraid because of the explosions that result from her shooting someone, rather than just marking them like in training. People tend to have those issues when fighting Trion bodies, even if technically they’re not flesh and blood and thus the person is in no real danger.

The fact that people can get hurt in a sense, the realism of the Trion body’s reaction to damage, is what seems to be at the core of Chika’s resistance to shoot, Ema noting how they’ve altered settings on Gunner Triggers so the ricochet only knocks an innocent bystander unconscious rather than piercing them.

Some people will stop because of the pain that still results from the damage, becoming Operators or Engineers, but he thinks Chika won’t have an issue if she isn’t hurting people.

After some help from his Operator, Nire, he adjusts Chika’s Sniper to fire Lead Bullets, like we saw with Miwa when he first fought Yuma.

The major tradeoff is that you can’t use it alongside Bagworm, but it disables people nonetheless, so that, plus the ability to go through Shield Triggers, makes is especially dangerous in the hands on a Sniper.

Another weakness is the bullet speed, but using a different Sniper besides Ibis, such as Lightning or Egret, will allow Chika to maximize distance or speed with her massive Trion.

Izuho is impressed, Ema saying it was Hatohara who made this theory, but she wasn’t able to utilize it, since you need high Trion levels to enable such a strategy to work. She notes how Yuzuru is being nice, wondering if it’s because he likes her, Kageura’s Sniper saying it’s because he’s worried about Chika becoming like Hatohara.

Meanwhile, Enedora is explaining the situation of Aftokrator to Yuma and Osamu. The Holy Land has 4 families, each of them competing for land and resources. The only time they band together is when the God of Aftokrator is dying. But there’s still competition involved, since the family that gains the God has priority until the next generation. This is why Hyrein was trying to get Trigger users with high Trion, since he’s one of the family heads.

But since he didn’t see the possibility of finding a God candidate as very high, Hyrein had a backup plan of using someone from his clan instead to replace the dying God. However, the opposition would be strong in the case of losing someone with high potential, so Hyrein had Hyuse, the one who would’ve had the strongest objection, in Meeden, so he couldn’t undermine his plan.

The end of the chapter reveals that the person who was chosen to be the next God candidate in the event of a failure was Hyuse’s master.

One Piece 804

Most of the group on Kanjuro’s “Dragon” manages to dodge the tiny monkey that falls in their path, but Kanjuro and Kinemon are struck as they have a weird exchange where Kanjuro tries to be a ninja by covering the Fox Fire Samurai’s eyes.

The two are fine, communicating that from a distance, though it seems like the monkey is also audible, either through an echo, or some voice that resounds in everyone’s heads. They press on, the samurai pair saying they’ll catch up later.

After the group gets to the summit, the Climbing Dragon reverts to a painting, Robin, Franky and Usopp somewhat distraught, while Zoro and Law move on, unaffected by its passing. They see a wall, apparently guarding the entrance to the civilization.

Luffy has already gone ahead, seeing the massive landscape in front of him and impressed at all of this being on the back of an elephant. The others go through the gate, Law observing that something appears to have broken the gates and forced its way in.

Even the path ahead of them indicates destruction of a large scale, not just beasts of the forest passing through.

As they move closer to the city itself, we see that there are Minks watching them.

The main city seems abandoned, Franky noting there’s not even a trace of gunpowder or gas in the air.

Suddenly, Zoro, Law and Franky notice something, one of the Minks, resembling a bunny person, attacks, Zoro blocking as the Mink uses their agility to dodge his initial strike.

But they’re called back by another Mink who’s dressed in Nami’s clothes, the chapter ending on this revelation, which confuses Usopp.

Bleach 648

Ichigo meets up with Askin as we start the chapter. The Quincy tells Ichigo that he defeated Grimmjow, but he won’t say where he is.

Suddenly, everyone is affected by a strange presence, like they’ve got the chills all of a sudden, the atmosphere getting darker and colder. Ichigo notices that the reiatsu is Shunsui’s as we shift to his fight with Ex Axis

Kyouraku asks the Quincy how the scenery appears to him, Lille noting that it’s become very dark and murky, thinking this must be the Bankai’s power.

But the Ex Axis attacks Kyouraku, thinking that this will negate the Bankai. However, the seemingly invincible Quincy is damaged as Shunsui reveals the first level of his Bankai, Hesitant Sharing of Wounds. Any damage he inflicts on the Captain Commander will be done upon himself as well and they cannot die from the attacks.

The second form progresses, Bed of Shame inflicting an illness on the Quincy who took damage and the third stage initiates, the chapter ending on it, Rejected Fish’s Abyss.

The two are plunged into what seems to be water, only one of them surviving when the others' reiatsu expires.

Toriko 344

We continue the flashback, Don Slime saying they’re going to prepare Acacia’s Full Course to revive Ichiryuu. Yuda asks if that means they have the ingredients here, the king of Blue Grill responding that they need to go to the Back Channel, Asarudy commanded to open his Warp Kitchen to transport them.

We see Chako being pushed along with others to the Kitchen of Eternity as sacrifices for the Food Spirits and then get a good mapping of Blue Grill as a whole.

Meanwhile, Komatsu is on a one way trip to the Kitchen of Eternity on the Train To Hades. The old man asks him if he’s afraid, Komatsu noting that he’s already died once. But the old man responds that the real danger isn’t death, but eternity, which can happen as you’re revived over and over in the Soul Trade.

But Komatsu thinks there’s still hope, even noting that the old man tried to stop them from taking Chako, since he’s kind of beaten up. He notes this means the geezer hasn’t given up entirely. The true purpose of what’s going on in Area 6 occurs to the chef: the revival and cooking of Acacia’s Full Course.

We shift to the Kitchen of Eternity, Meyl, one of the executive chefs under the 10 Shell 5, complaining about how gross the preparation of the Full Course is. They’re told about the Food Spirits that escaped through the Food Spirit Gate, having forced their way through rather than being allowed by the guardian, Ika.

In the Back Channel, more Food Spirits are trying to escape, but suddenly Don Slime’s group appears, the Gourmet Cell Demon stopping the enemies before them with a shout. He actually blows them away, Jiji confused as to their motivation, since it seemed like they were fleeing something rather than seeking new bodies to possess.

The chefs sense the Food Sentiment of the Food Spirits, seeking to get out from the Back Channel, but they also have many questions about the state of things and why they’re preparing the Full Course. We see Ichiryuu's younger form as they begin to discuss this.

The chapter ends as Komatsu comes out of the Train To Hades, meeting up with a mysterious woman.

Fairy Tail 457

As Lucy sits in the tub, she asks Brandish what she wants, the Spriggan telling her to put on some cat ears, which makes her look much cuter in Brandish’s view. She feels like she’s seen Lucy somewhere, but can’t remember. Her mind changes about the cat ears, asking Lucy to take them off and scrub her back.

As Lucy’s washing, she notices that Brandish has let her guard down, planning to use the broken key of Aquarius to stab her. But suddenly, Brandish, after being told Lucy’s name directly, thinks she might recognize her as Layla’s daughter. After Lucy confirms this, Brandish starts to shrink the room in anger.

Lucy rushes to escape, Brandish commenting on how surprised she is to find her here after exiting the building. She’s unwilling to tell the story, Cana managing to keep her at bay while Lucy smashes the tube with Marin in it, disabling him as she moves to use her Stellar Spirit magic. She puts on Aries Dress form as she and Cana plan to tag team.

Erza manages to Requip Wind God’s Armor and counter attacks Azir, who still says the attacks aren’t really hurting him.

Meanwhile, it seems like Natsu, Wendy and Gajeel have beaten their opponents, but Baqel attacks Natsu, saying they can’t beat the entire empire if they can’t even defeat Azir’s squad.

Natsu seems unfazed, punching Baqel into the sky with one attack, knocking him into Azir’s ship. The chapter ends as Erza lands a solid slash on Azir, the tables turning for Fairy Tail.
