Boku no Hero Academia 32

The matchups are about to be decided, followed by a brief period of rest and recreation before the tournament itself. But Ojiro, a Quirk user introduced in a special biography page at the beginning of the chapter with a giant tail, says he wants to sit it out. He was one of the people under Shinsou’s mind control Quirk, so he really doesn’t even remember what happened in the Human Cavalry.

Ojiro argues that he didn’t put his full effort into the last competition, so he doesn’t really deserve to be here. A student from B class also echoes this sentiment, Midnight agreeing to let them pull out.

In exchange, Tetsutetsu and Shiozaki volunteer to take their place, the 5th ranked team letting them do so as a favor, since they were immobilized while Tetsutetsu’s team put in more effort.

As the matchups are arranged, Izuku notices he’ll fight Todoroki in the second round if he wins against his first opponent, Shinsou. The Quirk user in question starts to engage in conversation, but Ojiro stops Izuku from responding, apparently realizing that it’s connected to the mind control Quirk’s activation.

The recreation part of the festival seems to go by in the blink of an eye for the tournament participants.

Before Izuku gets into the ring, All Might compliments him on getting slightly better at using All For One, even though he quantifies him as still only being at 5 out of 100 in terms of output. He encourages his pupil to be confident even if he’s not as strong as one would expect.

The rules of the tournament are simple: victory by ring out, rendering them unconscious (the translation says unable to move, but the ending of this chapter makes me wonder about that) or making them surrender.

Shinsou talks to Izuku about how this tournament is about resolve as much as power, taunting him about how Ojiro let his pride get in the way.

This taunt angers Izuku, who responds, but finds himself frozen in place as the chapter ends on this development.

Seven Deadly Sins 116 and Vampires of Edinburgh Part 2

Diane is shocked to find that Merlin had Meliodas’ Sacred Treasure, having found it in Camelot around 10 years ago according to last chapter.

Meliodas activates Lostvayne and slashes quickly at Albion, cutting one of its arms into pieces.

Albion sends out 5 horns that generate huge magical energy, Merlin thinking it’s trying to get around Meliodas’ Full Counter ability.

As everyone thinks Meliodas is in danger, we suddenly see there are 5 Meliodas, all of them using Full Counter and defeating Albion almost instantly, leaving only the legs behind. This is apparently part of Lostvayne’s ability, as we see the clones disappear into Meliodas as he lands.

We shift to the Fairy King’s forest as King plans to leave, wondering if Jericho really wants to stay behind. She says it doesn’t matter, since she’s not a Holy Knight anymore.

Suddenly, an earthquake occurs, the forest having a huge growth spurt.

Jericho thinks this is preposterous, King wondering how this is possible, since there’s no Fountain of Life.

But one of the fairies says the Fountain of Life is here and it’s been refilled every few years. King realizes what this means as we see Ban dripping a huge amount of blood into a small pool, the wound eventually closing up.

A fairy that had served King in the past called Gerard thanks Ban, who wonders why the vassal of Harlequin from the past, couldn’t take the title. But Gerard explains the Fairy King is a position chosen by the Sacred Tree, not the opinions of those in the forest itself. Ban thinks it’s weird, Gerard agreeing, since a human wouldn’t be fit to be Fairy King, only nourishment for the forest itself in Ban’s case, his blood seemingly the only reason the forest still grows.

The fairies panic, the forest reacting as such since there’s a monster nearby. The chapter ends as we see this giant golem entity walking towards the forest, potentially another ancient weapon like Albion.

King and Diane arrive at Edinburgh Castle. The giantess is scared by what she thinks is a bug, but actually a vampire. King notes that vampires have to be either beheaded or completely dismembered to die completely. He’s a bit concerned, since they sent Ban ahead of them, but they’re still being attacked.

Orlondi continues to drain Ban’s blood, amazed that it keeps refilling itself. He says he’ll make Ban his personal source, the Undead Sin noting that Orlondi’s using some kind of invisible tentacles to draw out the blood.

As Orlondi continues to drain the blood, Ban drinks some wine, revealing that he was never in any real danger and slicing the tentacles away. Orlondi is immobilized after drinking so much blood, Ban having drained his strength with Snatch. He punches the vampire, likely killing him in a single strike.

Meliodas and Escanor arrive at Edinburgh, apparently not there at the end of the last chapter. They wonder why Merlin isn’t here already, Escanor wanting to thank her.

He beats himself up, thinking he’s not worthy of Merlin’s attention at all.

Meliodas warns him to be careful, disappearing and leaving him behind.

The Vampire King Izraf appears behind Escanor, demanding to know what they’re doing here. Escanor explains their mission, Izraf thinking they’re below him, but that he got the worst one to fight, seemingly aware of their general power. He attacks Escanor, who manages to dodge the blasts.

Meliodas is equally confused, being separated from Escanor just as he was advising him. He meets up with Ren and Gelda of the Vampire Clan, who explain that the Demon Clan apparently betrayed and sealed them away, since they couldn’t defeat them with their abilities (meaning they were either originally allies or at the very least sympathetic to each other).

They fight Meliodas, who’s bewildered at their hatred of him, not recognizing them at all. It turns out that they believe him to be Zeldris, the demon who resembles him in appearance, but not in personality. Gelda destroys Ren, noting that she was aware Meliodas is not Zeldris, asking Meliodas to kill her as a favor, since she knows he is kind.

Diane and King are having trouble fighting two vampires, Modganne and Ganne, because Ban has used Physical Hunt on them (a reference to a conversation that spoke about this very event in the main manga).

Merlin acquires a sample in the form of Orlondi’s eye, saying Ban’s a terrible drunk. He asks if she’ll fight him, the wizard saying she might if Ban can do 100,000 pushups, the Undead Sin trying in spite of himself.

Escanor’s personality starts to change, getting stronger as it reaches morning. Izraf thinks that shouldn’t matter because they’re in the darkness surrounding the entire Vampire castle. Escanor taunts Izraf, saying he should use his full power, Izraf wondering why. The chapter ends as Escanor demands the Vampire King apologize for existing in his world.

Magi 257

Alibaba notes that his Djinn Equip is dissolving as the chapter begins. He comments that it’s like the leg disappeared, since he didn’t feel pain when it was cut.

Hakuryuu explains that it isn’t his leg anymore, flashing back to him explaining to Judar that the scythe can do more than merely manipulate the senses like the vessel did, but actually sever the senses from the body. Judar compares it to the Grim Reaper, Hakuryuu noting that it makes him almost undefeatable against any King Candidate, severing whatever it cuts from this world.

Alibaba still manages to fight back, saying he can’t lose. But Hakuryuu slashes his left arm, disabling it as well.

Alibaba calls upon Amon, planning to use Extreme Magic to finish this, the chapter ending as Hakuryuu resolves he’ll fight with all his might as well.

World Trigger 94

Konami is astounded that Yuma lost, somewhat thrown that it was to Murakami.

Shiori further explains the nature of Murakami’s Side Effect, able to incorporate anything he experienced into his knowledge after a short nap.

Yuma admits it was dangerous, but it’s also a necessary risk, since they need some information on their opponent even if they give away some of their own.

Osamu thinks to himself that Kikuchihara was right in saying that they can’t get past B Rank if they’re dependent on strategies using Yuma for one on one battles.

He concludes he needs to get more info on the other teams, starting with trying to figure out Arafune’s rivalry with Ko. Shiori explains that they were the same age, but Arafune joined earlier. He taught Murakami how to use a sword, but with his Side Effect, Murakami surpassed him in a little over half a year.

Konami says Osamu should also research Nasu Squad, since they get to choose the field this time.

Back at Suzunari Branch, Murakami has told his squad’s captain about his victory over Yuma. Kuruma Squad’s Operator (apparently Suzunari is a branch name and not the team, since it was Suzunari-1) says Murakami can’t lose again, but Ko thinks Yuma might’ve been holding back. The Sniper of the team comes in, showing off what a clutz he is as the team begins to strategize.

Nasu Squad is looking at what little info they have on Yuma, thinking he’s the biggest risk, even mistakenly believing he creates the strategies. But they’ve had more experience fighting Suzunari-1, always losing since Murakami manages to survive. Their leader, Nasu, notes that Suwa squad managed to have 2 survivors by keeping Murakami at a distance with their own Attacker drawing him out.

They comment that since the Attacker is the strongest of both Kuruma and Tamakoma-2, they might want to have Nasu be the focus of their strategy, since she has the best points relative to the other Gunners, Kuruma and Osamu. They conclude that they’ll go with a more defensive tactic, saying that Akane, their Sniper, is a big part of whether they’ll succeed or not, the last member not actually present or even involved, like the Operator.

Yuma talks with Rindo, who came in Osamu’s place to try to cheer up the Neighbor. But Yuma says he’s not depressed, since everyone’s trying their best. He compliments the system, Rindo saying he and Kinuta developed it, though Yuma’s dad was the one who came up with the concept in the first place, always thinking ahead.

The chapter ends as the third day of B Rank wars begins.

One Piece 779

Zoro thinks back to Mihawk telling him that he should regard any scratch or chip off his blade as an insult to his pride as a swordsman and that shielding a blade with Haki makes it much tougher.

Isshou managed to keep any stray debris from hurting anyone with his still unnamed Devil Fruit powers.

As everyone is amazed at Pica’s defeat, the SMILE factory explodes. Trebol thinks it’s fine, not knowing Manshelly has been rescued.

Leo’s group meets up with Kyros and the others on the Royal Plateau, the princess volunteering to heal him, But Kyros says he’s heard there’s a limit to her power. Even though he’s dripping blood everywhere, he’s still conscious, saying that she should use her power on others who need it more.

Manshelly is distraught at the state of her friend, King Riku’s, kingdom, Kyros saying they must defeat Doflamingo, leaving it in the hands of Luffy and Law.

Koala is infiltrating the palace, asking Sabo if he can come to help Luffy. The Revolutionary Vice Captain immediately says he’s on his way when he hears his sworn brother is in danger.

Zoro is pulled up by the others, amazed at his skill. He says they need to worry about Doflamingo, since he’s the one maintaining the Birdcage that has them trapped.

Viola suddenly realizes another person under Doflamingo’s influence has been defeated.

We see Bellamy, persisting in spite of Luffy saying he’s fighting for someone that treated him like trash. Bellamy knows that he was foolish, but he’s going to maintain his resolve as a man and fight Luffy to the end. Luffy beats him in virtually the same way he did the first time they met, Bellamy thanking him as he falls unconscious.

The chapter ends as Luffy screams at Doflamingo, who smirks to himself, imagining Luffy’s fury will only increase when he sees Law’s dead body, suggesting he’s actually dead.

One Piece is on break next week.

Bleach 618

Aizen and Shunsui continue their discussion, Shunsui releasing the other two keys. Shunsui asks why Aizen would even demand to use the other two keys if he was totally free, Aizen responding that Shunsui’s coming here with the key to Muken suggests that there was some plan from Central 46.

Shunsui agrees, explaining that him having the key to Muken buried in his chest was how they allowed him to enter and release 3 of the keys, simultaneously stopping Aizen from killing him, since that would seal him in Muken forever.

Shunsui asks Aizen to sit down so they can take him out of Muken. One of the attendants moves to put another restraint on Aizen, but his reiatsu, only restrained to his body, slices off the man’s fingers, showing he still has the immense amount of power from when he took in the Hougyoku.

Aizen asks why Shunsui expects him to help Soul Society, the Captain Commander responding that their interests are about to intersect. Aizen thinks about it as we shift scenes.

Juhabach moves to destroy Mimihagi’s arm, but Ichigo stops him. Yoruichi creates a seal around the Soul King, thinking that this can stabilize things permanently by having Mimihagi serve as the new Soul King in its place.

Juhabach still persists in saying Ichigo has no reason to fight him or protect the Soul King. Ichigo responds that even if he has Juhabach’s blood in him, he’s fighting to protect everyone. Even if he knew there was someone else able to fight, he wouldn’t give up, as it’s not in his nature.

He attacks with Getsuga Tenshou, the chapter ending as Juhabach, having blocked the attack, says Ichigo cannot stop him, for his eyes will determine whether he has his way or not.

Toriko 315

It seems like Bambina is still ready to fight, biting at them as they separate. Zebra then uses the 240 trillion cells to enhance his Voice Cutter. But it doesn’t even break the skin. Coco asks everyone to align with him, firing his Mold Spears. But Bambina dodges them as well.

Bambina lunges at them, the group trying their defensive techniques. All it manages to do is negate some of the damage, the group having to dodge the attack mostly.

Toriko says their major focus should be getting PAIR. Using a Toriko Poison Doll to grab PAIR from the front and get Bambina’s attention, the group all grabs PAIR from behind, trying to pull it. But it’s immovable, as if it’s imbedded in the earth.

Bambina bites them, Toriko throwing a Jet Fork at him. The Enbu is breaking apart as the others try their own attacks, similarly failing to Bambina’s overwhelming force.

The Monkey King then smashes 100 G mountain, the group falling away.

They wake up, still assaulted by some gravity. They start to tear up, realizing that the  wild Sandoriko’s pollen is affecting them.
Bambina appears, starting to grab them and prepares to eat them.

Toriko says that he won’t lose, biting Bambina’s face.

The chapter ends as we see what looks like Bambina’s lover and Komatsu appear at the front and back of the group, Bambina’s PAIR falling off as he reaches maximum happiness.

Fairy Tail 422

Wendy and Chelia are heading to the main sector of Orochi’s Fin, while Leon and the others protect the town from the monsters summoned from it.

Chelia apologizes to Happy for involving him, wanting to protect the city with her own power. The Sky Sisters leap into action, attacking the Orochi Fin members. Even Charle participates, Happy still focused on fish enough to not be any help. Wendy notices an odd smell as Chelia goes ahead of her.

Back at Margaret, the group prepares to fight the monsters before they get into town. Natsu, furious at Chelia stealing Happy, rushes through the monsters, knocking them aside easily.

Lucy summons Leo and reveals she can also utilize the Celestial Spirit Magic on herself, changing form to acquire a bit of their power and fight directly. The others keep the monsters at bay as well.

Back at Chelia and Wendy’s fight, Chelia finds the summoner. But we’re shown that Bluenote Stinger, someone who appeared back at the Tenrou Island arc as part of the Dark Guild Grimoire Heart, is also involved with the guild, the summoner one of his underlings.

He utilizes his gravity magic, keeping everyone unable to move. The chapter ends as Natsu finds Chelia, revealing he can still move in spite of the intense weight.
