Next week we’ll be without World Trigger. And we’re hopefully caught up to Magi with 2 chapters this week.

Boku no Hero Academia 34

Shinsou flashes back to people being concerned about the bad potential for his Quirk as we return to Deku’s victory over him.

People comment on how he used a throw from back when he was just starting in Yuuei against Bakugou, Aizawa noting that he’s using what limited experience he has because of the tough situations he’s been in and his own limits.

Deku asks Shinsou why he wants to be in the Heroics Department, Shinsou replying that he can’t help that he’s had that dream. Shinsou’s complimented by his fellow General Education classmates, people in the stands also commenting on how it’s disappointing he fell through the cracks of a flawed system.

Shinsou, encouraged by this, promises Deku he’ll get into the Heroics Department and become a great hero. Even after tricking Deku into getting Brainwashed again, he just wants him not to underestimate the upcoming fights.

After getting fixed up, Deku talks to All Might about how he couldn’t quite meet up to his expectations. He also notes about what he saw before he broke out of Shinsou’s Brainwash, All Might noting that it could indicate that he’s gotten a better grasp on the Quirk. But he says that it’s more like they were subtly helping him, not directly involved, suggesting that Deku mostly did it on his own.

As Deku leaves, we get a hint that All Might possibly told a white lie related to how those other parts of One For All relate, since one of them looked like him.

Todoroki meets with his father as he’s walking to his match, Endeavor saying he’s being too stubborn in refusing to use his full abilities, even reminding Todoroki that he’ll reach a limit soon enough using just his mother’s power. He also brings up that Todoroki has older brothers that didn’t acquire his mixed abilities, which makes things more interesting.

Sero and Todoroki’s match begins, the Scotch Tape Quirk user trying to bind the Fire and Ice user and get him out of the ring. But Todoroki unleashes an immense burst of ice, quickly beating his opponent, the chapter ending as Deku thinks it’s sad that he has this conflicting power, melting what he froze with his other hand.

Seven Deadly Sins 118

Jericho moves to help Ban, demanding to know what Gerharde did. She responds that she’s just protecting the interests of the true King of the Fairy King’s forest.

The fairy with Jericho tells Gerharde there’s a monster outside, Gerharde going out. Realizing what it is, the vassal is in shock.

King is fighting against the golem, but isn’t doing well, even with his motivation to return to Diane. The monster chops the Sacred Tree in half, King regretting his failure. Gerharde moves to take King to safety as the other fairies hold the monster back (rather unsuccessfully)

King tells Gerharde to let him go, the advisor refusing. Helbram tells King that the fairies have finally been motivated to help after centuries of idleness. He thinks King has the right to be selfish and want to go back to Diane and the others.

But Harlequin refuses to give up, releasing some seal on Chastiefol. He rushes at the golem, saying that Helbram is right that he should be selfish, but he will protect everyone.

We see Chastiefol’s true form and the chapter ends as King seemingly destroys the golem completely in one strike.

Magi 258-259

We see both Hakuryuu and Alibaba readying their Extreme Magic to finish this fight once and for all.

Hakuryuu notes that this is much like at Magnostadt, but he realizes he’s surrounded by flames, unable to escape and forced to face the flame sword head on.

But Hakuryuu planned for this, unleashing his Extreme Magic, which eliminates the senses of anyone caught in the blast radius.

Alibaba pushes through, clashing with Hakuryuu. The explosion makes it unclear who won.

But we see that Hakuryuu has had both his legs literally burned off to the knee by Alibaba.

The chapter ends as we see Alibaba exhausted from his fight.

The next chapter begins with Judar and Aladdin wondering who won. Hakuryuu insists he won, explaining that he managed to stab Alibaba in the head with Belial, so he’s basically put him in a comatose state.

Hakuryuu calls Judar to finish him off, the Dark Magi initiating a spell, seemingly drawing down Il Ilah itself, Aladdin noting that he gets the same feeling as when he faced the medium.

Aladdin thinks the only way he can win is to use Solomon’s magic, but he only has the theory, no practical experience. But he thinks he has to try regardless, pushing Judar back with some old magic and the rough facsimile of the gravity magic he used before.

Judar thinks he can knock it away, but he’s shocked to see that Aladdin’s maintaining a huge amount of power, the chapter ending as Aladdin tells him he’ll continue this forever if he has to, even putting his individuality at risk in trying to fully utilize its power.

World Trigger 96

With all the attackers on one side, along with Nasu squad’s Sniper, Yuma has the furthest distance to cross to meet up with Osamu and Chika on the east side of the bridge.

The others are focusing on meeting up, or in Nasu’s case, defending the riverbank for her teammates. Chika’s in a position where she can snipe anyone crossing the bridge from the west side (minus Yuma of course), so there’s a risk there.

Kuruma directs Taichi to focus on Yuma, who may use his Grasshopper to get over the river instead of cross it.

Someone’s already reached the bridge, Osamu trying to ponder the worst situation. It’s not Yuma being stranded so much as Murakami and Yuma both being on the opposite end, while all of Nasu squad is on the east side of the river, Osamu and Chika outgunned.

Nasu Squad’s plan is to try to isolate both Murakami and Yuma, taking out the bridge as they cross.

We flashback to the previous day, Akane revealing, with great sadness, that she’s moving from Mikado City after she graduates middle school. The squad thinks they should at least shoot for the highest place in B Rank with the time they have left together.

Nasu meets up with Osamu, Kumagai waiting for Akane to get over the bridge so she can keep Murakami and Yuma at bay by destroying the bridge.

But suddenly, we see a shot from afar that destroys the bridge, revealing Chika’s going ahead with the attack.

Kumagai’s confused, since Yuma hasn’t crossed the bridge, Osamu telling Chika to hide.

As Akane is preparing to protect Kumagai, the Attacker tells her to hold her fire, since she could be found by Yuma. Meanwhile, Murakami has appeared to match against Nasu’s Attacker.

Nasu Squad’s Operator explains the situation, Nasu deciding she’ll have to take out everyone on her side, which is 4 to her 1, Kumagai and Akane stuck on the other side with Murakami and Yuma.

Kumagai squares off against Murakami, ready to fight to get some points somehow, Yuma noting that Osamu’s strategy intended to have him and Murakami form a temporary alliance to beat Akane and Kumagai as the chapter ends.

World Trigger is off next week.

One Piece 780

We flashback to before Luffy finished his fight with Bellamy, Trebol teaming up with Doflamingo to beat up Law.

Doflamingo mocks Law, saying he has no chance against both of them. He says Luffy is soft, not able to kill Bellamy, since that would allow him to assist Law. He further insults Corazon, saying that Law has become like his ghost, seeking revenge in a way that Doflamingo sees as meaningless.

He offers Law a deal: perform the Immortality Surgery on him and he’ll grant his wishes. Law says he might do it, telling Doflamingo to bring Corazon back and kiss everyone’s butt in Dressrosa. He’s resolved to not give up, giving Doflamingo the finger and saying they can’t beat the Straw Hats.

Doflamingo shoots him multiple times, mocking his use of the heart motif in remembrance of Corazon, even naming his crew the Heart Pirates. He tells Law that their “curse” ends today with Law’s death.

Back in the present, Viola confirms that there are only 2 enemies left, but also implies that Luffy’s the only one left.

The Rubber Man bursts from below, attacking with a giant Haki-infused fist. Doflamingo blocks it with Spider’s Web, still taunting Luffy. But Luffy grabs one of the threads and spins around, attacking Doflamingo from behind with Hawk Gatling.

But Doflamingo counters with Break White, a wave of thread that surrounds Luffy. Luffy dodges, but is shocked to see Law’s bleeding body.

People notice that the Birdcage is slowly shrinking as Doflamingo taunts Luffy, saying he doesn’t have a chance, especially with Law dying.

As Luffy moves to attack, Law is talking to Luffy telepathically (or someone else) as the chapter ends.

Bleach 620

Uryuu moves to Ichigo’s position as the Soul Palace begins to crumble. He tells them not to move or he’ll shoot. Ichigo rushes at him, knocking away Uryuu’s bolt. He asks if Uryuu knows why they’re here, Uryuu saying it’s to stop Juhabach.

Ichigo continues, inquiring if Uryuu understands the gravity of the situation, Uryuu saying he knows that Juhabach’s intent is to destroy everything. Ichigo demands to know why Uryuu is doing this, fighting against them.

Uryuu responds simply that it’s because he’s a Quincy, the Royal Guard of Juhabach appearing, seemingly with the aid of the Miracle’s ability, since they all have wings.

They comment on how pitiful the group is, Uryuu saying he doesn’t need their help. He uses Schutzstaffel (literally the German words used for the abbreviation of the S.S. in Nazi Germany), knocking away the area where Ichigo’s group is standing, causing them to fall.

As the Ex Axis moves to kill Ichigo, Uryuu fires a bolt instead, saying that he knows that this is the way to ensure they won’t come back, earning the Miracle’s approval as part of the group.

Meanwhile, Juhabach is confronting Mimihagi, commenting that even if it could see the future, it couldn’t account for how much more powerful he is by comparison, further destroying it and stealing its power.

As Juhabach does this, the tremors start again in Seireitei. Juhabach says he will take the Soul King’s power and not let anyone interfere, firing a black beam from his finger as the chapter ends.

Toriko 317

Bambina strikes Kaka with his tail, Bambina grabbing on and preparing to counter. But the Monkey King unleashes a blast from its mouth, blowing the Blue Nitro away.

Toriko realizes this is the full extent of Bambina’s power. He senses Komatsu’s life fading away, the group quickly getting into Yunyun as 100 G Mountain begins to collapse. They feed him PAIR, his heart still not seemingly repairing as Coco notices something odd about his electromagnetic waves.

The group starts to think he actually died, but Komatsu swallows PAIR, the soup filling the hole in his heart. Everyone else sees the scenery that Toriko viewed before, seemingly the Back Channel.

Komatsu’s heart is seen, but the group can’t grab it. Toriko realizes he must reach into the opening to grab it, placing the heart in its proper place as it reconstitutes itself and Komatsu recovers.

The chef sits up, his stomach grumbling as everyone is overjoyed to see him alive after all this time of being on the edge of death as the chapter ends.

Fairy Tail 424

The group arrives at Rainfell (or Sea Hare, the translation varies), Happy and Natsu enjoying the halfway rain only focused on the village and nowhere else.

It seems like no one’s there, but Natsu can somehow still catch Juvia’s scent. They find her, the Rain Mage surprised to see them, fainting on the spot.

But it turns out she’s gotten ill. Natsu notices Gray’s scent as well, Juvia saying they’ve been living together. One day, Gray noticed his demon powers from Silver seem to be spreading or changing in some way, leaving half a year ago. Juvia has been waiting here, not really knowing any other home besides this.

The group vows to bring him back, in or to revive Fairy Tail.

Natsu thinks they should go to Sabertooth, since it’s close by.

The chapter ends as we see a new dark guild called Avatar, formed of those who wish to bring Zeref back. But the biggest shock is that Gray is with them, his appearance drastically changed and the demonic aspect of his powers seemingly taking over.
