Shonen Jump is technically on this week (12—22), along with Weekly Shounen Magazine, but we may get a surprise chapter next week with early raws, so we’ll do a two week compilation as I said last week.

I’m thinking of adding Boku no Hero Academia and since the scan group is apparently current, it may be possible. I’ll be jumping in a bit late, but I can qualify things for those unfamiliar as it goes along, especially since we’re just starting a new arc.

Basic premise: people have acquired superpowers called Quirks in some indeterminate future and our main character acquires one through it being passed down to him by the greatest hero in the world, All Might.

Boku no Hero Academia 25

We start the first round of the Hero Academy Yuuei’s sports festival with a lap around a specially made course. But it’s guarded by various robots designed to block the aspiring heroes’ way.

Todoroki, the student with the Quirk called Fire and Ice, knocked down many of the robots, blocking the way. Kirishima and another student with similar Hardening Quirks, the other a Steel based Quirk, managed to survive and press their way through.

The other students plan to combine their efforts, but Bakugou, with his Explosive Sweat Quirk, blasts his way over the massive pile of robots. Two other students, Fumikage with a Dark Shadow Quirk manifesting as a shadow creature he can summon, and Hanta, who can pull cellophane tape from his elbows and use it in various ways, use that opportunity to follow Bakugou.

All Might and Eraserhead comment that Class 1-A, with Bakugou and others, isn’t necessarily just better: they’ve faced real villains and real danger, so they’re inspired by that to move forward.

Izuku, not wanting to use One For All, his Quirk he inherited from All Might, takes a plate of steel from one of the robots Todoroki fell and uses it against the robots as they try to attack him. The other students, like Momo with her Creation Quirk, manage to get through as well.

But the next stage is a series of pillars with tightropes between them, Tsuyu taking her Frog Form Quirk as an advantage. One of the students from the Support Department of Yuuei reveals that they’re allowed to bring in equipment they designed to show off to the corporations that mass produce such things.

Todoroki remains in 1st place, revealed by spectators to be the son of the second strongest hero before All Might, Flame Hero Endeavor, so he’s naturally very popular for any scouts.

The final barrier is a massive minefield, intended to slow down the leader. Todoroki is attacked from behind by Bakugou, the two of them fighting it out to maintain their advantage.

But while other students are also trying to push forward, Izuku decides to try a reckless strategy, jumping on the mines with the steel plate from before as a shield, flying into the air to catch up as the chapter ends.

Hi Fi Cluster 15

The group speeds towards the parliament, at over twice the legal limit according to Shanon, Miri showing Kandera a scene at the parliament.

Landscape Mole, the Alfred Nobel Hi Fi Loader in tow, knocks away someone, provoking armed guards to come in.

Taking advantage of the girl’s naivete, he tells her they’re the bad guys and their weapons need to be stopped, the girl blowing them up with her Hi Fi.

Landscape Mole introduces himself, saying this is the power of the original Ability Labels. He explains the reason he came here is to get his twin brother out of prison. Landscape Mole made the data, but his brother made the labels themselves. The two of them together are Landscape Mole in completion.

The goal is to mass produce Hi Fis and take over society. He demands they free his brother or he’ll kill one person every 10 minutes.

Shanon takes a shortcut, crashing through a barrier to get to a lower road, introducing himself as Shanon Onkami, a typical taxi driver. Kandera says otherwise, but Shanon responds that even if he isn’t a normal taxi driver, Kandera and the others aren’t regular police.

The group arrives, Shanon deciding to go with them. But the chapter ends as we see Noto is at the steps, prepared to stop them from proceeding any further.

World Trigger 88

As the second night of B Rank wars begins, we see Tamakoma-2 Squad's new outfits.

Meanwhile, Sakurako Taketomi, Operator for Ebina Unit, is commentating with Azuma of Azuma squad and Midorikawa of Kusakabe Squad.

Tamakoma-2 Squad’s performance, a perfect score of 8 points each, draws in off-duty A Rank agents to watch the next round. Midorikawa is sorely reminded of his loss the Yuma in their duel.

We see that Tamaokma-2 Squad has chosen the setting of a city built onto a hill, making it more ideal for Chika’s positioning and much more difficult for Suwa squad, who has no Sniper.

Suwa squad is understandably distressed, but thinks that if they can take the hill, they’ll still have an advantage. Arafune Squad, being Snipers, decides they’ll do what they usually do in such a situation, focusing on Chika as a potential threat.

Everyone is dropped in a random location, the Snipers activating their Bagworms to hide from radar. Arafune Squad all gets uphill, seemingly pinning Suwa squad downhill. Meanwhile, Osamu, Chika and Yuma all meet up, not trying to get up the hill.

Suddenly, Arafune is attacked by a nearby blast from Chika. Attacking that position, Osamu and Yuma block the Sniper shots with Shield Triggers. Chika fires at the position where Arafune shot from. The exchange is slowly whittling down Osamu’s group, however, since Arafune still has the positional advantage.

But Azuma says they weren’t trying to win, but merely distract Arafune squad so Suwa’s group could attack them in the distraction created from all the blasts by Chika.

The chapter ends as we see that Tamakoma-2 created an implicit alliance with Suwa squad in giving Arafune Squad this advantage, Yuma moving in for his part of the strategy.

Magi 251

Kouha, Koumei and Kouen convene in Balbadd, discussing the situation with Hakuryuu taking over the Kou Empire’s capital. The magic Judar used was so rare, only Koumei, Scheherazade and Yamraiha were known to be able to use it before today.

Kouha comments that Judar also used a powerful magic that laid waste to the area at the meeting of the countries before, Koumei saying they were unable to determine the source of its power.

Kouen’s subordinates come in, reporting that Hakuryuu has issued an imperial edict, stating that Kouen is a traitor and should be executed as such, along with anyone who supports him. Kouen’s Household reminds him that around 80% of the Kou empire’s troops still support him, so he should step up and aspire to be emperor. But Enshou says Hakuryuu seems more legitimate in terms of lineage.

Koumei notes that doesn’t matter, Kouen agreeing as he acknowledges he made a mistake in not eliminating Hakuryuu when he had the chance, regarding him as a minor threat. He thinks some people are not worthy as King Vessels to become emperor, saying he won’t obey Hakuryuu.

Everyone around him supports him, but they’re wondering where Alibaba is, Kouen told that they’re not here, but Alibaba’s Household has arrived, which makes the others think Alibaba is being very rash to go back on his word to aid Kouen as a vassal.

We see Aladdin and Alibaba flying towards Hakuryuu’s location. The two of them discuss why Hakuryuu did this, Alibaba saying they have to tell him about Alma Torran. If they do that, they can show there’s a common enemy and Hakuryuu can abandon defeating Kouen for now to save the world.

They’re confident he will change his mind, since they’re not involved in the succession war and they’re his friends. It’ll be difficult to fight someone they fought alongside in the past, but they have to do it to help everyone.

Alibaba tells Aladdin that Kouen is in a state where he can’t use his authority as strongly as before, since the emperor who gave him his authority is struck down and his position as governor of Balbadd, which gave him influence over Alibaba, is in question.

As they arrive, Aladdin senses something’s off, Judar confirming it as he appears behind them. Aladdin and Judar both explain there’s an Isolation Barrier, Judar letting it down temporarily so they can get in and not be worried about betrayal. Aladdin knows a trick to the barrier’s structure, a requirement of around 60 points of energy meaning that if you take down a few, it isn’t stable.

The chapter ends as Aladdin and Alibaba meet Hakuryuu in his throne room, this potential conflict brewing below the surface for a potential fight and revelation of Hakuryuu’s goals and motivation.

Seven Deadly Sins 108

Gil, Hauser and Griamor are at Dreyfus’ office, looking at something, which, upon closer inspection, is the mark of the Demon clan. Gilthunder explains that Hendricksen told him much about Meliodas and remembers him stopping his attack back at the Forest of White Dreams. When he did that, the same mark they see in Dreyfus’ office appeared on his forehead, as it has done other times in the series.

Gilthunder notes that Meliodas resembled Hendricksen when he took on the powers of the Demon clan himself.

Griamor wonders if Gilthunder is implying Dreyfus was involved with Hendricksen’s plan, since he was looking at this book when Gil and Hauser returned from defeating an army of invading barbarians early in the series.

Hauser is suspicious of Dreyfus seemingly slipping in his fight with Hendricksen, which caused him to attack Elizabeth.

Gilthunder speculates that, with Merlin’s advice, they have to consider that Dreyfus may have intentionally attacked Elizabeth, may not actually be dead and may not even be the Dreyfus they knew. They conclude that they’ll have to investigate further, but the theory holds merit, since Dreyfus also attacked Hauser without hesitation, which is out of character for him.

We see the mysterious bird hinted at a while ago after Hendricksen’s defeat fly to a location far east of Liones, releasing what’s left of Hendricksen’s body, only his upper half having survived the attack.

Hendricksen is approached by what seems to be the true Dreyfus, confused at his reaction of weeping, not sure about what he’s done. Dreyfus spills some of his blood into Hendricksen’s mouth, leaving as Hendricksen recovers.

Hendricksen sees that there’s a cloth from when Dreyfus helped Elizabeth who was bleeding, along with the hilt of Meliodas’ original sword, meaning they have everything they need to revive the Demon Clan. The chapter ends as Hendricksen, fully recovered, begins to chant an incantation, Dreyfus in the distance smiling evilly.

One Piece 772

Kyros and Rebecca’s fight against Diamante continues, the Flag Man targeting Rebecca, who begs her father to let her fight. But Kyros says he still regrets having to teach his daughter to fight, so he’ll fight in her place.

Zoro notes Sai’s strength after beating Lao G, Baby 5 saying they need 2 ceremony halls: one for their wedding and one for Don Chinjao’s funeral, Don Chinjao insisting he’s not dead.

Gladius has been preparing his part of the battlefield to rupture and explode, Cavendish trying to get in Bartolomeo’s barrier as Gladius unleashes Punk Rock Fest, destroying a huge amount of the scenery. Cavendish and Bartolomeo bicker about the Barrier Man not letting the White Knight in.

Robin is targeted by Gladius, but Bartolomeo saves her as she continues up his steps to help Rebecca and Kyros.

Gladius and Cavendish square off, but Bartolomeo is inspired by Robin winking at him to charge with his barrier like a bull, knocking everyone away.

Dellinger shouts at Gladius, who asks the half Fishman to help them. But Ideo continues to fight against Dellinger, saying he has to help the others. Dellinger reveals his heritage, biting the Long Arm Tribe boxer on the shoulder, seemingly finishing him off.

As Dellinger comes to support Gladius, we see that Gladius is concerned, Dellinger slashed by Cavendish in his Hakaba persona as the chapter ends.

Bleach 611

As Juhabach walks past Ichibei’s corpse, he references his prediction that he’d beat the Soul Reaper in three steps or less a while back.

We see the other Zero Squad members defeated by Juhabach’s elite squad, Juhabach moving to finish off the Soul King himself.

Meanwhile, Ichigo’s group arrives, wondering why it’s so quiet, as if the battle’s already over. Ichigo hears Ichibei’s voice in his head, telling him to call his name. He does so, Ichibei restored to life by the power of his name combined with Ichigo’s immense spiritual power.

Ichibei says he can’t fight now, since he only restored his form, not his full ability, begging Ichigo to stop Juhabach.

Ichigo’s group runs towards the Soul King’s palace, while the chapter ends with Juhabach stabbing through the Soul King, sealed in crystal, saying he has seen the future of his death, referring to the Soul King as his father.

Toriko 307

The next day of Enbu training begins, Toriko advanced to 30 BB Pillbugs, which is mid level. Coco and Sani are at master level, juggling 50 each. Zebra seems to still refuse to do the training, but is motivated partly by Kaka telling him BB Pillbugs get tastier after being juggled. The next step of their training is juggling the BB Pillbugs while going up 100 G Mountain.

The group notices Denshark has entered autotomy, something done by animals that involving throwing off their tail to protect the main body, like lizards. Denshark is essentially able to avoid even gravity, functioning like a perfect safe zone. But it can’t move, so Sani picks it up, carrying Komatsu with them as they continue their training.

Kaka reminds them they need to continue practicing so their Enbu skill doesn’t dull, the 10x normal gravity not feeling bad at all. Zebra seemingly is already around middle or master level as he almost casually starts his training as they go up the mountain. But Iai Aye can only get through the first station, higher ranked Enbu fighters needed to both guide and train them in real battle.

Warding off gravity is easier than attacks, the group fighting the monkeys in a brief training montage to learn how to do so.

The chapter ends as they reach the peak, prepared to fight Bambina and get PAIR to heal Komatsu

Fairy Tail 413

As the dragons finish destroying all the Faces, we see that the signal has been lost.

Marde Guile mulls on this failure, Acnologia seemingly defeated by Igneel.

The Dragon Slayers are all astonished that their masters are back, Igneel saying they were all hidden in their students’ bodies, which explains their similar reaction (only Natsu had it visibly happen, though)

Natsu asks why they did this, Igneel saying there were 2 reasons. The first is to prevent another Dragonslayer becoming a full dragon as Acnologia did. But before he can explain, Acnologia recovers, drawing Igneel into another fight.

Gray picks up the book of END, saying he must destroy it.

Meanwhile, Igneel asks why Acnologia still fights, saying END is thwarted. But Acnologia says he was never afraid of END, only wanting total destruction.

The chapter ends as END’s book is stolen from Gray by Zeref, saying he holds it very dear and he had to take it back.
