We’re almost back to normal
schedule. World Trigger’s on break this week unexpectedly again and WSJ is
taking a break next week to balance things out. After that, we should be back
on normal schedule.
Bleach also took an unexpected
break, allegedly because Kubo got sick in the mid winter holiday, but we should
have something by next week.
Boku no Hero Academia 26
We see Deku’s plan before he
actually jumped on the landmines with the steel plate, managing to dig them
out, since they weren’t buried very deep and piling them up to make a huge
explosion to thrust him into the lead. He knocks Bakugou on the head slightly,
Todoroki putting ice on the ground to push past Deku as he loses momentum.
But just before Deku hits the
ground, he slams the plate on the ground, knocking up dust and distracting the
two leaders, getting ahead of them in the commotion.
Deku makes it in first, amazing
everyone with his skill, particularly since he didn’t outright show his Quirk.
The Management Department wonders how they’d sell him, All Might thinking it’s
a bit silly. His reason for taking on Deku was because he didn’t care about
promoting himself, but saving others first and foremost.
We get an explanation about the
Management Department, focusing on promoting heroes and the business aspect of
the academy.
The others manage to place in the
top 42, which means they can advance. Bakugou and Todoroki are right behind
Deku with 3rd and 2nd place respectively, most of class 3-E placing fairly
high.
The next event is Human Cavalry, a
game from Japan where people form a sort of horse and rider team with 2-4
people and whoever steals the headband of the rider gets points. Deku is worth
ten million points compared to the more basic scores determined by place for
everyone else, the chapter ending as everyone intends to target him and change
their position.
Hi Fi Cluster 16
Kandera tells the others to go
inside while he handles Ichiro. He still wants to end this incident himself,
since he puts the blame on himself for not getting Ichiro back then.
Ichiro reveals another level of
power with his Musashi Hi Fi, Fire (referencing one of the 5 books in the Gorin
no Sho). He quickly uses the next level, Wind, attacking Kandera from behind.
Ichiro thinks to himself that
Kandera was too kind as a leader. But as Ichiro uses Sky, the next power from
his Hi Fi, he’s held back by Heckt, who says Ekusa and the others should go
while he backs up Kandera.
But Landscape Mole appears, knocking
Ekusa back, saying they’ve told him where his twin is. The group moves to stop
him, Landscape Mole not entirely surprised Shanon betrayed him.
He reveals that he plans to mass
produce Hi Fi’s (which we found out last chapter), Kandera saying that won’t
change anything.
Landscape Mole responds that Kandera
wouldn’t understand, that he’s just a cog in the machine of society.
Kandera argues that helping others is the nature of life. We all have people who support us and trying to break the system down entirely is something a kid would do, which is what Kandera accuses Landscape Mole of being.
Landscape Mole says Kandera’s had it
easy, but he responds the kid doesn’t’ know, that he’s not the only one who’s
had it bad. Landscape Mole retorts by releasing a burst of power to intimidate
the group.
Peta tells Miri to run, but then
stops her as he gets the Alfred Nobel Hi Fi Loader, convincing her he’s a
friend. But as police come in, she activates her Hi Fi again, the chapter
ending as a huge burst of smoke and explosions result, Miri unsure of the
status of anyone.
Magi 252
Alibaba and Hakuryuu are alone,
Aladdin and Judar guarding outside, Alibaba a bit nervous about the situation
and whether it will succeed. He jokes with Hakuryuu about how he’s taller than
the half prince, the new emperor laughing it off, which calms Alibaba down.
Aladdin is worried about Alibaba,
Judar teasing him,
Back with Alibaba and Hakuryuu, he
thinks Hakuryuu hasn’t really changed, but is stunned when the dual Djinn user
asks him to join him to take back Balbadd and overthrow Kouen.
Hakuryuu further emphasizes that
with this, they’ll both have their countries back, Alibaba taken aback,
thinking he has to tell Hakuryuu about Alma Torran. He explains, Hakuryuu
saying he already knew after he beat Gyokuen and Judar told him the story
through his Clairvoyance magic.
Hakuryuu states that he can’t trust
Kouen and has to kill him for his complicity with Gyokuen and Al Thamen. He
thinks Kouen wouldn’t be beyond doing the same thing he did 10 years ago and
accepting their existence to build up his own power and must destroy him as a
threat greater than Al Thamen.
Alibaba is in shock at Hakuryuu’s
disregard for his cousin, treating the succession of royalty as a war. He says
that even Kouen didn’t ignore the threat of Ill Ilah. Hakuryuu retorts that
Alibaba is ignoring his subjects, trying to negotiate with Kouen instead of
getting his country back and running it as he desires.
Alibaba thinks to himself that he
wants to acknowledge everyone, wondering how to get to Hakuryuu’s heart and
convince him to change. He knows he was kind, bringing up Hakuei and Morgiana,
as well as the people of the Kou Empire that would all be hurt by this
conflict.
Hakuryuu responds that a few weeks
ago, he might’ve joined Alibaba with that argument. But he’s concluded that
Alibaba is manipulative, finding out what is most important to someone, taking
it and using it to bring forth his own ideal world.
Alibaba’s hypocrisy, in Hakuryuu’s
eyes, is what makes him so threatening to the world he wants to create, so he
says he’ll kill him here and now as the chapter ends.
Seven Deadly Sins 109-110
As
Hendricksen continues the ritual, we see Dreyfus wondering if it will be able
to connect to the Demon Tribe’s world. Using Elizabeth’s blood, the portal
opens and powerful force pushes Dreyfus back, who leaves Hendricksen to continue.
The
demonic druid persists, in spite of the damage done to his body. As the seal is
released, Hendricksen is seemingly destroyed, Dreyfus noting there was a trap
on the seal set up by the Goddess Clan, so he had Hendricksen work as a decoy.
Hendricksen
is alive, though Dreyfus notes his Gray Demon powers are gone as a result,
saying his Red Demon powers wouldn’t have been enough to withstand the seal’s
power.
But
Hendricksen is confused at Dreyfus, seemingly under some kind of spell or unaware
of the involvement of his friend, now back to some semblance of normalcy.
The Demon
Tribe appears, 9 members in total, 2 strongly resembling Meliodas, though one
is female.
They refer
to Dreyfus as Fraudrin, wondering why only they were unleashed, Fraudrin saying
Elizabeth’s blood wasn’t enough to release all of the Demon Tribe.
The other
clans have apparently been cut down significantly, according to the sensors of
the Demon Tribe, the humans most populous nowadays compared to the Giants,
Fairies and Goddess Clan (meaning there are some members around?).
Fraudrin
was having difficulty in the 10 years he’s been awake, especially with
Meliodas, which one of the Demons knows, whose voice Hendricksen recognizes in
shock.
Meanwhile,
the group of Sins is heading to Camelot, presumably, in response to the king’s
prophecy, when an earthquake shakes the area.
Meliodas
has a disturbed look on his face, wondering if they’ve awakened, likely
referring to the Demon Tribe members.
The Demons
move out as the chapter ends, planning to destroy the human kingdoms, their apparent
leader almost like Meliodas except with black hair that’s slicked back.
The next
chapter begins with Veronia chastising Griamor, saying he vowed to stay by her
side. He responds he doesn’t want to leave the matter of his father unsolved.
The trio bids farewell to Veronica, Elizabeth and Margaret.
Elizabeth
runs through town in a maid uniform, meeting Diane, still small. She’s looking
for King and Ban, nowhere to be seen. Diane is frustrated, Elizabeth managing
to calm her down and enter the Boar Hat to meet Meliodas.
Meliodas
says she should go back to the castle, since Bartra might be angry with him for
using his daughter as a waitress. Elizabeth says she wants to go with the sins,
but Meliodas says they completed their mission.
Elizabeth
asks why he’s so aloof, but he starts acting perverted to throw her off. She
leaves, asking Diane what might make Meliodas behave like this, Diane bringing
up the earthquake from yesterday and the Sin of Wrath’s reaction.
The two
discuss whether Elizabeth loves Meliodas, Elizabeth saying it’s possible,
though she’s never felt like this before in her life. She says she loves him,
noting that it feels like she’s known him forever (hinting at the Liz spoken of
from Danafor where Meliodas caused a huge disaster in the past)
Diane
insists Elizabeth tell him, but she says she couldn’t, knowing Diane loves
Meliodas as well. But Diane says she more admired him for not treating her as a
giantess, recalling her past with King when she was younger. The chapter ends
as Diane says she wants to be able to tell King how she feels, since she’s
worried he might not come back like before.
One Piece 773
Bartolomeo
is amazed at the person he can’t recognize as Cavendish in his Hakuba form,
taking out Dellinger and the enemy soldiers as well. Dellinger collapses,
seemingly defeated, Bartolomeo remembering that this happened back at the
Coliseum as well.
Cavendish
attacks Bartolomeo, the barrier protecting him. But then Hakuba looks over at
something, moving to attack Robin, who stops him with her Hana Hana Fruit’s
power, wondering what happened to him.
Cavendish
manages to recover his senses, saying he didn’t want Hakuba to come out. But it
takes over again, the two fighting it out until the face is mixed between the
personalities.
He manages
to get control of Hakuba, but in the distraction, Gladius has started a huge
bulge that will explode soon, taking out virtually everyone on that level.
Bartolomeo
moves to stop Gladius, who confirms that if he’s defeated, his powers will
deactivate on the wall. But Gladius shoots poisoned needles from his hair that
start to paralyze the Barrier Man. He then puffs himself up, preparing to burst
out more needles at Robin.
The
situation is dire, either way Robin attacked by Gladius.
Bartolomeo
wants to have Cavendish cover her, but Hakuba comes out. The only other
solution is concluded by the Barrier Man to create a ball around them,
attacking Gladius and sacrificing himself to protect her. The explosion is
stopped, but Gladius reveals that instead of damaging his throat, which
would’ve negated his powers, Bartolomeo struck his shoulder.
The wall
explodes, but not before Hakuba/Cavendish tells Robin they can use his speed to
get to the top floor.
Bartolomeo
is anguished, thinking they’re both gone, but sees Robin and Cavendish alive,
Cavendish having stopped Hakuba’s attack on Robin with his own hand.
Gladius is
astonished that they survived, Bartolomeo thinking to himself that he’ll become
someone strong enough for Luffy to rely on (hinting he might become a crew mate
or at least a significant ally), taking out Gladius with Bari Bari Pistol (an
obvious homage to Luffy’s attacks)
Meanwhile,
Diamante’s fight with Kyros and Rebecca continues, the Flag Man attacking
Rebecca with his sword. But Robin manages to make it in time, stopping the
sword with her Hana Hana power as the chapter ends on her saying she’ll finish
this fight.
Toriko 308
We start
with a scene in Human World, showing that people are enjoying the food from
Gourmet World that Octomelon transported.
Mansam is
eating AIR, his Gourmet Cell Demon partially awakened from the flavor. He
wonders if the others that went to help Toriko have awakened, thinking Rin is
especially behind and slacking off in her new job.
Rin,
accompanied by everyone else, asks where Toriko and the others went, confusing
Zonge for a youkai. The Hex Food World inhabitants also explain what happened
to Komatsu, motivating everyone to find them that much quicker.
But they
need to have a Camping Monster than can travel both land and sea. The rainbow
that Toriko’s group used is gone, but Nono says she can make land with her
ability to generate ice so they can get there with a land-only Camping Monster.
Chinchin
asks Daruma Hermit where Brunch went, Daruma saying he went to the Bishokukai.
We see
Brunch in Gourmet World going up Sea Mountain, a literal mountain shaped part
of the sea. Turns out, this is the Bishokukai’s current hideout and Toriko was
asked to get AIR, in part, by Midora. He enters, worried about meeting the
world’s strongest man.
Meanwhile,
on Dining Planet, the Blue Nitro are amazed at Komatsu’s talent, managing to
prepare AIR at its full flavor. Joa says that they can’t call him a mere chef
anymore and that he may have figured out the preparation method from the
notebook in the Gourmet Pyramid. But their priority now is to steal AIR, but
they’ll wait until the Gourmet Solar Eclipse.
The Blue
Nitro are impressed PAIR has come back, noting Acacia met Joa/Frohze at Area 7.
One of the Blue Nitro notes that while Toriko and Komatsu were a good combo,
he’s skeptical they can beat the Monkey King, having seen them when they were
getting the Ozone Herb 200 chapters ago.
The group
advances, concluding that with their new strength and appetites, they don’t
even need the courage or plans they had before.
Toriko
calls out Bambina, the chapter ending as a wrestling ring appears and Bambina
moves to appear from above.
Fairy Tail 414-415
The group
is astonished to see Zeref in the flesh. The Dark Mage tells Marde Guile he did
well, but that he’s no longer any use, sealing him back into his book form and
destroying the book.
Gray is
infuriated that Zeref would do that to one of his own demons, but Zeref says he
no longer requires his aid. He seeks to resolve things with Natsu, who’s
confused. But Acnologia has disrupted Zeref’s plans. He hopes Natsu can survive
this so he can show him true despair.
Zeref
wonders if Acnologia will destroy history again, implying this has happened in
the past.
The Dark
Mage disappears, leaving Natsu to wonder what he meant.
Meanwhile,
Acnologia and Igneel’s fight continues, Igneel on the losing end. He tells
Natsu that they were creating antibodies to counter the Dragonification the
Dragon Slayers were slowly going through, but they were also waiting for an
opportunity to defeat Acnologia, the last remnant of their past they wish to
eliminate.
Natsu says
he’ll help Igneel, but he tells his student to stay back, that Acnologia is far
too powerful. Natsu insists, Igneel quickly biting off Acnologia’s arm. But the
Dark Dragon punches a huge hole in Igneel.
The Fire
Dragon King crashes down as Acnologia destroys him, thanking Natsu for allowing
him to raise him, since it opened his heart. The chapter ends as Natsu cries
out in agony at his surrogate father being killed.
Somewhat
unexpected death, though it fits with the old generation passing on to the new
one and Natsu’s relevance to the story.
Some have
theorized there’s some time travel or such going on and END is an abbreviation
for Eternal Natsu Dragoneel. Zeref might know Natsu from the future and time
travel came in from there. Or it might be something else, like an alternate
history. Considering Fairy Tail has brought in time travel already to some
extent, I wouldn’t put it past Mashima.
We start
the next chapter with Makarov regretting his decision to not use Lumen
Histoire, Mavis’ spirit saying it simply means it wasn’t time.
The
dragons commend Fairy Tail for trying their best and managing to push Acnologia
away, mostly because of Igneel’s sacrifice.
The
dragons, after conversations between Grandeeney and Wendy and Metalicana and
Gajille, reveal that Sting and Rogue’s memories were altered so they only
thought they killed Skiadrum and Weisslogia, in order to achieve the power they
desired.
But it’s
further explained that the dragons are essentially dead, only their spirits
managing to resist Acnologia’s Dragon Slayer magic. Their appearance from
inside the Dragon Slayers was also a final release of their power, so they will
eventually disappear.
Natsu
mourns Igneel, the dragons disappearing in a flash of light as they say they
will strive to protect mankind even in death, as agreed in the Magna Carta
contract 400 years ago.
The
chapter ends as Igneel’s last words to Natsu move him to shout that he will
become stronger, using that as his will to live, to continue on in spite of his
great loss.
