I’d ask for suggestions of weekly series to follow,
but I think I follow a select amount of them: and it’ll be difficult to
incorporate Tokyo Ghoul, considering how advanced the story is at this point
(then again, I started this blog when the major series like One Piece and
Naruto were over 10 years in, so it’s not implausible)
Seven Deadly Sins 91
Hendricksen continues on about how hopeless it is for
Dreyfus, but suddenly he’s punched by Dreyfus, who’s still trying to fight,
even with just his armored hands. The punches seem to have little to no effect
on Hendricksen, who says he respects Dreyfus in spite of their differences,
using his Acid power to defeat him in a painless manner, according to him.
Meliodas and Hawk arrive, Hendricksen saying that he didn’t
expect Acid to work on Meliodas, since he’s part Demon. Meliodas sees Dreyfus,
apparently melted away to nothing, but is more shocked at Elizabeth wounded.
Hendricksen explains that he’s a Druid, a sorcerer of the
forest that reveres nature and the Goddesses, hating the demons. He feared and
yet admired Meliodas at the same time for his power and now has gained that
power.
But Meliodas ignores him, quickly grabbing Elizabeth and
moving away from Hendricksen in the blink of an eye, Hendricksen barely able to
keep up. Meliodas leaves Elizabeth to Hawk, who runs with her.
As Hendricksen moves to stop Hawk, Meliodas chops off the
demonic druid’s arm and kicks him in the back of the head. Hendricksen knocks
Meliodas back, but the demon counterattacks almost immediately, knocking
Hendricksen back. The two continue to spar, but Hendricksen remotely controls
his arm to fire a black flame at Hawk and Elizabeth.
It seems like they’ll be hit, but Diane both stops the flame
and smashes Hendricksen’s detached arm with Gideon. King attacks Hendricksen
from behind with Chastiefol, Hendricksen still stunned that Diane can fight.
The other Sins appear (minus Merlin and Escanor), the
chapter ending as Meliodas and Hendricksen both say that this battle will be
concluded with their victory.
Magi 237
Ugo tells everyone that they have to start moving to a new
world, since Alma Torran’s resources are nearly gone. We see the people being
funneled through tunnels to this other dimension, Ugo explaining that with a
power from the Sacred Palace (where Ugo later seals himself), they can travel
with the rukh to the new universe.
The Magi later discusses something important with the
leaders of the various species: even though Solomon didn’t want to become a
king, he thinks this new world will need a king. The chiefs are shocked, Ugo
inquiring to all of them individually about how to maintain a system of
kings.
Ugo eventually explains his Magi System. First he will have
the new world inherit the spirits of the three Magi. They will chose king
candidates; then, with the dimensional portals connecting the new world to Alma
Torran, the kings will be tested in dungeons to gain suitable power. The Djinn,
immortal and always remembering the wrongs of Alma Torran’s past, will be able
to choose the best king candidates chosen by the Magi.
The Djinn agree, only concerned about who will manage such a
system. Ugo says he will become a Djinn and live in the Sacred Palace to keep
the Magi in the new world through transmigration.
\
The various species (with some exceptions, like the Fanalis)
were simplified to the human form. Only the original magicians under Solomon
maintained some memories of Alma Torran in the new world and persisted through
generations as the Torran Tribe.
The Origin Dragon and the Red Lion (the Fanalis) were so
powerful, Ugo could only move their continent to the other side of the world,
those two species in their original form still retaining the memories of Alma
Torran (the Fanalis, humanoid Red Lions, having forgotten Alma Torran)
Ugo is hopeful that the people will choose a king to rule
them, but he’s also concerned about Al Thamen, since they were able to escape
the other dimension as thought beings and corrupt a child who had the Magi
soul, Judal.
He brings Aladdin into existence, initially not telling him
his heritage. But Aladdin eventually sees the nature of his home, demanding Ugo
tell him who he is. Ugo explains, saying Aladdin could have anything he
desires. The chapter ends as he awaits Aladdin’s wish, leading up to the events
that began this manga.
This means that the three original Magi that exist in the
new world would be Gyokuen (Arba), Aladdin (Sheba?) and Ugo, though I suppose
he only existed in the new world as a Djinn, his true form as a Magi limited to
his head in the Sacred Palace. But it makes me wonder, if it’s just the rukh of
a Magi that can be passed onto someone’s soul: whose rukh does each Magi of the
new world have? Scheherazade might have Sheba’s, Judal seems likely to be
Arba’s and that leaves Yunan inheriting the rukh of Ugo in a sense. That’s
something not explained well enough, but I can still wrap my head around it.
World Trigger 73
Yosuke notices some rumbling and is communicated by Izumi,
presumably, saying they’re attacking the humanoid Neighbor.
We see that the attack on Hyrein was a combined Sniper
attack, the buildings destroyed to maximize their line of sight. Hyrein blocks
the second shot, but Izumi thinks that the wound will leak Trion and the Black
Trigger will consume a lot of Trion on its own.
The snipers, including Toma, the #1 in Border, make it their
goal to shoot through the fishes Hyrein is summoning to take him out. They
manage to make some mild hits, but Toma notes that he’s well protected, so they
can’t get a solid shot on his head or heart.
Hyrein contacts Mira, telling her to take the snipers out
with Rabits. She teleports a group to their position, but they use a support
Trigger to move around and fire at Mira. She redirects their shots. One of the
squad captains, Fuyushima, tells them to wait until Kazama and Suwa squads
arrive to support.
Mira asks Hyrein what to do, the captain responding that she
should hold her position. He heals his wounds from the Sniper attacks with
Trion cubes in the area, firing a barrage at Izumi. Izumi dodges by Bailing
Out.
The chapter ends as Kyosuke is told by Usami that Osamu and
Chika will get to the Border HQ in about 3 minutes, Kyosuke ready to hold off
the Rabits, but the final panel tells us it’s still about 10 minutes until the
turning point in this battle.
One Piece 759
Back with Cavendish
and Robin, we see that the toy nutcracker soldiers that were unkillable fall
apart after Sugar falls unconscious again. Robin notes that the soldiers were
made of 8 underlings a piece, Cavendish insulted that they’d treat their
soldiers with such disregard.
Back with Luffy and
Law, Doflamingo shows Bellamy, beaten up and unconscious. Luffy tells
Doflamingo to let Bellamy go, but Doflamingo responds that it’ll be decided
with the winner of their fight.
Doflamingo continues
to insult Bellamy, saying he can never match up to his dreams, that he’ll
always be a thug.
Luffy attacks
Doflamingo in a rage, Doflamingo pulling Bellamy up to block the attack, which
Luffy can’t stop.
Law tells Luffy to
calm down and that they have to be careful with Doflamingo, since he’s best at
taunting people and taking advantage of their weakness.
Trebol laughs at
Bellamy’s suffering, Luffy saying that Doflamingo’s too cruel. Doflamingo
retorting that they’ve pushed him too far by constantly interfering in his
affairs.
Law says that seeing
Doflamingo brings back memories of 13 years ago, when Doflamingo says he
could’ve become the 3rd Corazon and joined Doflamingo’s crew. Doflamingo
attacks Law with a string clone, Luffy trying to attack the original, but he
controls Bellamy to attack Luffy. He says that to stop him, Luffy should just
beat Bellamy until he’s knocked out.
Luffy, enraged even
further, moves to attack Doflamingo with an even more powerful attack, Law
using Room and Shambles to switch Luffy with Doflamingo’s clone of himself
(it’s not clear, exactly) and Luffy attacks with Gum Gum Red Hawk, seemingly
damaging the real Doflamingo.
The chapter ends as
Law uses his Devil Fruit to defeat or significantly damage Trebol as he and
Luffy continue to bicker.
Naruto 691
We resume with Hagoromo congratulating the group on stopping
Kaguya and Black Zetsu, some of the Kage from the past also chiming in,
impressed at the state of things after centuries.
Kakashi is still in shock, praising Hagoromo’s power. But
Hagoromo in turn says Kakashi was impressive in leading the others, in spite of
his general powerlessness until Obito gave him the temporary Sharingan.
Naruto greets Kurama, who tells him to stop being wishy-washy
and asking if he was lonely. Hagoromo says this was his hope: that even the
Bijuu would help someone like Naruto of their own free will.
Hagoromo even says Obito’s return to good and coming back to
help Kakashi was because of Naruto. We see Obito talking to Kakashi before he
disappears, the two leaving on good terms, Kakashi saying that he can now see
Obito as a friend. As the flashback ends, Kakashi’s eyes revert to normal,
nearly fainting and held up by Sakura, who confirms that he’s lost his
Sharingan powers.
Sasuke notices Madara, moving to kill him. But Hagoromo
stops him, saying that he’s already dying because of having the Bijuu removed
from him. Sasuke says he should suffer the consequences of his actions, but
Hagoromo says he and Naruto should listen to their predecessors before they go.
Madara and Hashirama talk about how their dreams were
similar, but only Hashirama’s seemed to survive on. Madara even admits
Hashirama’s way might’ve been right. Hashirama says Madara could’ve raised
successors, but Madara said he didn’t want such a thing. Hashirama says that
they should share a drink as comrades, seeing that they may have succeeded in
passing on a way to keep ninja from dying senselessly.
As Hagoromo moves to send the Kage back, Naruto jumps to
where his father is, who wishes him a happy birthday after all these years,
praising what a great ninja he has become. As he speaks about what he’ll tell
Kushina, Naruto tells Minato that he’s doing everything that his mom told him,
even if it’s not as ideal as she’d like.
Having just turned 17 today, he says he’s not perfect, but
he’s trying his best and that Minato should tell Kushina not to worry about
him. The chapter ends as Minato disappears, saying he’ll pass that on to
Kushina.
Toriko 291
The Herac Response of the newborn Heracles is heard by the
other 8 Kings, but also by those in the Nighttime Gourmet World and humans in
Human World. People across Human World recognize the involvement of Komatsu and
the others.
Komatsu and the others see Toriko as the once barren
wasteland bursts into flowers. Coco notes both Toriko and Komatsu have
different auras now.
The group prepares to eat AIR, the villagers and everyone
from Hex food World arriving as well. They take pieces, enough of the
ingredient left to send to Human World. Toriko takes a smell, the sheer scent
making him see a vision of space. He thinks the high quality oxygen enhanced
his sight temporarily to the point of seeing through the clouds.
The other Heavenly Kings notice that Toriko and Komatsu’s
reactions are so strong that their Appetite Devils aren’t coming out; they
imply AIR has chosen those two.
And Toriko and Komatsu decide that AIR will be the Salad of
their Full Course as the chapter concludes.
Bleach 595
As Shuuhei attacks
Byakuya, Pepe says it makes him sad to see conflict, since he thinks it all
results from love, not conflicting senses of justice like the Soul Reapers have
said before. He sees all conflict as beautiful, a world without conflict also
being a world without love, and thus sad.
Byakuya takes out
Shuuhei, saying that once he takes out Pepe, the manipulation will be done.
Pepe tries to fire his Love Hearts at Byakuya, who dodges them. Byakuya says
that he cannot manipulate those without hearts (though I’m not sure if he’s
referring to himself or in general). Pepe responds that he knew that, Byakuya’s
Zanpakutou attacking him, since Pepe knows that Zanpakutou have hearts of their
own in a sense.
Byakuya throws the
Zanpakutou away, Shuuhei picking it up and managing to stand up in spite of his
wounds. The fight seems a bit imbalanced, Byakuya regretting not just breaking
Senbonzakura (since Zanpakutou can be restored if broken in sealed or Shikai
form). Pepe attacks Byakuya from behind with Love Kiss, but Byakuya still
retains control.
Pepe unleashes his
Vollstandig, stabbing Byakuya with his Love Rope and telling Shuuhei to not
attack, since he wants to finish Byakuya off himself. He prepares to fire his
ultimate attack, but he’s attacking by what’s revealed to be Kensei, Rose next
to him. The chapter ends as we see that they still seem zombified, but they
have black markings near their heads (meaning Mayuri may have gained control
over them?)
Fairy Tail 398
Gajeel collapses after his fight, barely able to stand. He
remembers there’s one more enemy, Tempesta appearing behind him and attacking.
But Gray pushes him away with an ice arrow attack. He tells Gajeel that they
can make an antidote to the Magic Barrier Particles that are killing Laxus and
the others back at the guild with Tempesta’s blood.
He rushes at Tempesta, who attacks with tornadoes that Gray
easily freezes. The inheritor of the Ice Demon Slayer magic uses a technique
derived from that to defeat Tempesta. He then tells Gajeel he’s going to
destroy Tartaros.
Erza’s group finds the still zombified chairman. But
Franmalth notes it isn’t Keith’s technique, so he concludes it has to be Sayla.
The Macro Curse Demon and Kyouka appear behind them, explaining that Sayla can
still manipulate the Chairman’s corpse and maintain the Face plan this way.
Sayla moves to kill the group, but Mira slams her into a
wall out of nowhere. She says it was the last of her energy, Sayla virtually
out of power as well. Kyouka says she doesn’t have to worry, since the chairman
managed to complete his part of the plan. She says the Face bombs will activate in a few
seconds.
Only Erza and Kyouka remain in the area to fight, both of
them vowing to finish this for the sake of their respective people precious to
them as the chapter ends.
