WSR 8-25-14

Disclaimer: These aren’t official translations, merely scanlations. Buy localized or original manga to support the author if at all possible. Know the difference between piracy/theft and sharing without personal profit.

Looks like the raws and releases will be scheduled a bit differently unless Japan realizes this anti piracy thing is fruitless. All it’s done is delay the WSJ chapters until Friday (lot more work for me on Friday) and the WSM (Weekly Shounen Magazine) moved back to Monday (which is technically earlier, I think). Magi seems to be moved forward to Wednesday/Thursdayt release instead of its usual Monday/Tuesday release

Seven Deadly Sins 90

We see Elizabeth has been fatally wounded in the abdomen (better than what I thought: at least she didn’t lose her arm). Dreyfus and Griamor try to stop the bleeding, but it’s too much. Hendricksen breaks out of the Barrier and knocks Griamor away. Dreyfus attacks with a volley of powerful slashes, but Hendricksen reveals he broke the sword at some point, saying this battle is over.

King is pushed by Helbram to kill him, the younger fairy saying King isn’t his friend anymore. King unveils the fourth (of at least 8, iirc) form of his Spirit Treasure, Chastiefol, a giant flower from a root.

Gil saves Jericho’s brother, Diane not wanting to fight, but Ban willing to.

We see King seemingly vaporize Helbram with a blast from the giant flower form of Chastiefol and Ban slash at Jericho’s chest, seemingly trying to cut her out. It’s revealed he cut out the demon’s heart (which, if I recall correctly, might be one of two) and has saved Jericho, but at the cost of her demon blood powers.

Guila saves Diane from a demon attacking her, revealing she’s fine somehow (possibly with Gowther’s help), the groups splitting off to stop the new generations and save Elizabeth and Meliodas. The chapter ends as we see Ban and King taking out the demon hearts and Meliodas still moving towards Elizabeth, who’s thinking of Meliodas as she lies dying.

Magi 236

Solomon has died, the chapter starting on everyone mourning him. He managed to both push back Ill Ilah and Al Thamen into another space, expending all of his remaining power. The survivors are despondent and hopeless, the world they’re in drained of all life, a complete wasteland.

But Ugo encourages them, the group inspired by his words, even though Ugo feels alone, no one else in the original group of Solomon’s followers here.

The group retreats to the underground cities made by the other species. But eventually, paranoia and fear start to set in again and people begin to potentially corrupt their rukh again.

Ugo hides himself away, thinking he cannot be a leader. He speaks to Aladdin, still unborn, inquiring what he should do. He’s inspired by the thought that Aladdin is a reflection of Solomon, revealing Aladdin to everyone, saying that he will be their hope for the future.

Everyone treats him like Solomon, banding together. The various cities where the Djinn live are all connected by Aladdin’s rukh.

5 years pass and Ugo’s plans to create a new world are finally coming to fruition as the resources of the presently near dead Alma Torran are nearly gone. The chapter ends as he prepares to initiate his plan, Aladdin likely at the center in some way.

World Trigger 72

Enedora, barely able to move, is about to be taken into custody by the Border agents, but Mira appears, taking him back. He’s apparently just a normal Neighbor now, not dead, but also unable to use his Black Trigger, since it’s been destroyed. But instead of taking him back, Mira chops off the arm that has what remains of the Black Trigger on it, leaving Enedora behind.

She comments that the Trigger horn is now rooted in his brain and he will die soon. His Black Trigger, Borboros, will be transferred to someone else (meaning the Trigger itself is preserved, just the connection to it was damaged in the fight) Enedora is damaged further by Mira as she leaves, left near death. Shinoda says they’ll take him to analyze the Trigger horn later,

Meanwhile, Jin notices the future has changed again, telling Hyuse that his group has killed one of their own, Hyuse attacking him with more rage than before. Jin says he has to keep him occupied.

Izumi is still fighting Hyrein, the Border agent starting to figure out the nature of the Black Trigger; it can only affect Trion.  To attack him, Izumi collapses a building around the Neighbor leader. But he’s seemingly able to recover from this or defend. But the chapter ends as he’s shot unexpectedly in the chest as Izumi’s plan involved this surprise attack.

One Piece 758

Luffy and Law move past Diamante towards Doflamingo. Luffy congratulates Rebecca on meeting her dad and corrects her: that he’s Luffy, not Lucy, and he’ll become the Pirate King.

Diamante tries to attack them, but Law uses his Devil Fruit to teleport them away from his attack, switching places with other objects, and closer to Doflamingo. He was able to build up energy since he was in the Seastone Cuffs. But he also had to perform surgery on himself after being shot by Doflamingo a while ago, lead shots apparently a weakness of his Devil Fruit, since it was more taxing to remove them.

We see Sugar moving to use her power on Luffy and Law as revenge for Usopp thwarting her efforts from the last decade.

Usopp is panicking, wanting to help Luffy and protect him from Sugar. But Kinemon brings up that the palace is very far from where they are and the enemy is in the walls. But Usopp, with Viola’s help as well as the support of Riku, Tank and Hack keeping the citizens at bay, fires a complex shot that manages to get to Sugar’s location and frighten her into unconsciousness again with a facsimile that looks like him drawn by Kanjurou’s Devil Fruit power as the finishing blow.  It seems like Usopp is able to see the auras of Luffy, Law and Sugar, which makes me wonder if it’s a manifestation of Haki.

The chapter ends as Luffy and Law confront Doflamingo, supported by Trebol, the climactic battle about to start.

Naruto 690

Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi’s teamwork has finally enabled them to seal Kaguya with Chibaku Tensei. Kaguya thinks back to when her sons sealed her ages ago, still frustrated at being sealed by what is a part of her.

Hagoromo’s spirit recognizes that the seal is starting and he begins preparations to bring them back.

The Chibaku Tensei is starting to form the moon around Kaguya, the Bijuu escaping from her. Madara is also spit out, his body prone on the ground.

Sasuke appears near Kakashi and Sakura, telling them Naruto had something else he had to deal with and that they have to get away from this place.

Naruto finds Black Zetsu, throwing him on the moon being created by Chibaku Tensei and saying that someone who can’t be their own person doesn’t deserve to speak about the shinobi history being their creation.

Sakura panics, wondering how they’re going to get out of the Genesis dimension. With the power of all the Kage through the generations (revived somewhat through Edo Tensei as ghosts), Hagoromo initiates the summoning jutsu to bring everyone back, including Madara.

The chapter concludes as Hagoromo congratulates everyone on saving the world.

Seems like Naruto will likely be ending this year and leaving the rotation. Not sure if I’ll add something else (I’m feeling Tokyo Ghoul, but I’ll have to give it some time to see how regular in terms of release it is)

Toriko 290

Everyone gets away from the blast radius of AIR. The sheer force pushes the air into outer space, the amount released comparable to our planet’s atmosphere.

Horse King Heracles moves to finish off Toriko, since he was still able to survive after eating the tiny Air fruit. Toriko can’t fight back, but he unflinchingly stares down Heracles.

Before Heracles’ attack lands, it notices the fresh air from AIR, taking the opportunity to give birth. It sucks in the air, creating a windstorm.

Meanwhile, everyone else on the continent is amazed, Melk the First realizing that the second generation has prepared AIR fully. Komatsu awakens, worried about Toriko, Mappy telling him that things are okay.

The group sees a giant rainbow, everyone in awe, the various beasts showing respect to the new Horse King born as AIR is fully released. The chapter ends as we see the newborn Heracles and it lets out the first cry, running up the rainbow.

Bleach 594

Mayuri stabs Hitsugaya, using Ashisogi Jizou’s power to paralyze his body, along with the imbalance from the drug he administered before that caused him to constantly loop back to the past in his mind. As Toushirou lies unable to move, Mayuri injects him with another drug, the zombified Soul Reaper screaming in agony as his skin seems to go black due to some unknown effect.

But out of nowhere, Rose, Kensei and Rangiku all appear as zombies, much like Toushirou in that they were all near death. Mayuri sends his Arrancar zombies to hold them off while he continues to observe his experiment.

Meanwhile, we see that Byakuya has done well against the other Stern Ritter besides Bazz B, damaging Nanana and the mysterious bespectacled Quincy as well as Candice. Liltotto and Meninas are the only ones standing, wondering where Pepe is, saying his ability could make this battle more complicated.

We see Shuuhei, telling Byakuya he’s taken out one, but Byakuya has taken out 3. Byakuya suddenly attacks Shuuhei, asking him if he’s an imposter or being manipulated. Shuuhei says that’s ridiculous, but then speaks about doing this for Lord Pepe.

Pepe talks to himself, explaining his power in a cryptic way, the Love. It seems like he splits one’s heart in two and then slowly gains control over the person. He fires a heart from his hands that strikes Meninas, immediately making her loyal (suggesting it’s more effective on Quincy than Soul Reapers, since Shuuhei still seems to be somewhat of stable mind) and punching out Liltotto.

The chapter ends as Pepe notes that he could take all the glory if everyone ends up killing each other, teasing that he might have been thinking this from the start.

Fairy Tail 397

Gajeel, having knocked Torafusa away, tries to bring Levy back to consciousness. He asks her to give him more air, but she says she can’t, since she’s almost out of air herself. Gajeel insists, Levy realizing she could’ve just used Solid Script to make air appear, doing so.

It looks like Gajeel is doing well, landing solid blows on Torafusa. But Torafusa suddenly enhances the density of his body, damaging Gajeel’s hand as he punches.

Torafusa then says that Gajeel’s delayed the effects of his poison in the water, but it’s finally started to affect Gajeel as his body reacts in pain. The poison of Tenchi Kaimei poses a threat to virtually everyone in the area.

Gajeel remembers when a member of the Magic Council advised him to leave Phantom Lord and live a meaningful life. That same member was the one they were supposed to protect from Tartaros. But they were too late, Gajeel thinking to himself that he should’ve been more honest with her about living a life with meaning. He then recalls that she said he reminded her of her dead son.

Gajeel gets a burst of power, shouting to Berno that he’ll live life with the goal of protecting those precious to him. He starts to break Torafusa’s defense, the demon realizing that the dragon slayer absorbed the carbon from Tenchi Kaimei’s poison and made his body like steel. The chapter ends as Gajeel finishes Torafusa off, leaving the next battle to Natsu.
