One Piece is on break this week

Golem Hearts 14

Lamech is reading the paper and sees the front page story about Noah and friends stopping the Riddle Golem

He’s impressed at how fast Noah’s progressed, thinking he’s much like his wife, who he remembers from a picture.

Til, Lamech’s wife, was already rank 9 in the Arcanist Federation, while Lamech kept failing the arcanist test. She encourages him to keep trying, saying that he’s inspired her. Her family suffocated her with their expectations, but Lamech made her laugh and have fun.

In spite of it being more work for her, Til says she’ll help, saying he’s made her dream of having a happy home come true, asking him to give her a child.

The two are married and awaiting their child, but Til is killed by an attack by a neighboring country’s golem, unable to have seen it coming

Lamech left his village and traveled to pursue his dreams, eventually creating Noah, even though he otherwise was terrible at golem arts. He thinks that in a way, Noah was his attempt to bring forth his child that he and Til would’ve had. And he’s very proud of Noah and all that he has and will accomplish

We see Noah remaking the Riddle Golem into a healing golem, wanting it to help people instead of hurt them.

Erebus says he doesn’t intend to rebuild any golems, just destroying them. Noah volunteers to help Erebus by rebuilding the golems he breaks, the two still maintaining their rivalry to become the #1 arcanist.

Back at Chernozem Army HQ, we learn that Garbo, the military officer who attacked Noah and Lamech at their village is a high ranking general of the Chernozem army as well as the leader of Sodom. The loss of the Riddle Golem in Adelaida is reported, though he doesn’t care about that so much as the Arcanist Federation interfering with his plans

He’s also told that they’ve made even more Riddle Golems, totaling 78. Garbo orders his subordinate to send them to the Arcanist Federation headquarters, but warns him to keep Noah alive, still wanting to take the special golem for himself as the chapter ends on this threat

Dr. Stone 47

We see Hyouga and the others leave, along with Gen, as Senkuu tells them to convey the message to Tsukasa that they’ve made lots of guns

Kinrou is recovering thanks to Senkuu’s medicine he made along with the sulfonamides during his experiments. But he’s not quite at 100% the next day, still needing to rest, even though he stubbornly insists he needs to keep watch

Senkuu assures him he can predict when Hyouga’s group will attack again, Gen spreading the message to them that they should attack when it rains, so they can’t use the matchlock guns he says they’ve made

But Hyouga thinks that’s what they’d want them to do, thinking they should go back and regroup with the rest of Tsukasa’s army.

One of the men taunts Hyouga, saying he’s nothing without his hollow spear, Gen curious about it, though Hyouga tells him not to touch the attachment that seems like a bamboo pipe

Hyouga concludes that attacking is preferable for now, since the other fighters are itching for battle and they can serve as sacrificial pawns to figure out what the Kingdom of Science can do

Shifting back to Ishigami Village, Senkuu has made some makeshift glasses for Kinrou, also repairing Suika’s helmet.

But he says they need to be ready, advising Kaseki on making something else that Gen hinted at, which excites the blacksmith so much that he flexes his muscles and tears his clothes off.

Three days later, a storm is coming, Hyouga’s group mobilizing to attack.

Senkuu stands waiting, Kohaku, Kokuyou, Magma, Ginrou and Kinrou all appear behind him, brandishing Japanese swords, to the amazement of the brawny fighters.

The chapter ends as Senkuu admits they’re a bit shoddy, but they’ll still be far and away the better weapons in this stone age.

We Can’t Study 51

Rizu notices her bangs are getting long and wants to fix them up. Her father interrupts her, seemingly messing up her cut

Fumino and Uruka see Uruka the next day, her bangs cut very straight. They say it does look a bit different, but they try to make her feel better by saying she looks younger, though that makes Rizu wonder if she looks like a little kid.

She isn’t fazed much, saying it’ll grow back eventually and she can see in front of her beter.

Fumino says she should try to be a bit more feminine, but as Rizu runs away from Yuiga as he greets everyone, she thinks Rizu is still fairly innocent anyway

At school, Rizu is still stressing a bit over it, but decides she should apologize to Yuiga in the afternoon.

Suddenly, Sekijou bursts into the bathroom where Rizu’s looking in the mirror, showing off her own new hairstyle

She’s taken aback, thinking Rizu has changed her hair as a sign of their friendship but Rizu thinks Sekijou thought it was weird

At the study session, Yuiga is trying to explain ancient Japanese language, but is still trying to figure out why Rizu is suddenly wearing a weird mask over her head

Yuiga wonders if Rizu hates him, Fumino thinking that Rizu’s not helping to progress her relationship with Yuiga when she sends mixed signals like this

She pulls off the mask, Rizu embarrassed at what Yuiga might think. But he seems to not recognize the change, frustrating Fumino and Uruka

Yuiga is following Rizu, trying to figure it out, though she says she doesn’t really care even though she definitely does, even though she doesn’t understand why herself

Yuiga then refers to Rizu by her first name, taking her by surprise. He insists that he’ll find out, trying to guess, but Rizu doesn’t even seem to care anymore.

When Yuiga says Rizu’s expressions are more diverse now, she’s also stunned, but when he says that she might have started to trust him more, Rizu decides to lie and say that he got it right, which makes him happy

The chapter ends as Rizu’s still trying to process these feelings, irritated at her dad, telling him he can’t get within 30 meters of her, which means he can’t even get into the house

Black Clover 146

Yami demands to know what Vangeance is doing, Licht introducing himself, saying William is sleeping now.

Marx is watching from a distance, Yami telling him to get Owen the medic to help Julius, though Licht says he won’t survive, though he does respect the Wizard King in spite of saying they won’t ever see eye to eye.

Licht picks up the other 2 Magic Stones, Valtos appearing to pick up the leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun.

Yami tries to attack with Dark Cloaked Dimension Slash, but the group gets away, to his frustration

Julius compliments Yami as he’s supported by the Black Bulls captain, saying that the next generations are already showing great promise and will support his goals

Back at the Eye of the Midnight Sun’s hideout, we see Mereoleona continue to blast Rhya, but he moves to blow himself up with a self destruction spell

Suddenly, Asta attacks, having discerned this after seeing Fana and Vett both trying to do it in the past, managing to stop the magic. He asks why Rhya’s trying to do this, even wondering why he’d attack humans if he’s human himself.

Asta wants to understand why they’re doing this, saying he’ll hear Rhya out if he listens to Asta as well.

Mereoleona says they can’t expect to understand each other, but Asta disagrees, saying that both of them are angry at things being taken from them, at having their homes attacked.

The Wizard King says the same thing as he seems to be dying, Asta reflecting this attitude, which shocks both Mereoleona and Rhya in wanting a world with no discrimination on class or race.

The Disloyal comments that Licht said the same thing before, thinking it might’ve been better if all humans were like that.

But the chapter ends as Rhya says they’re too late and that they cannot be stopped now as Licht and Valtos approach the tablet with the magic stones, their plan nearly complete

Boku no Hero Academia 172

Momo offers her piano expertise to the band, set up for keyboard, and with Jirou on bass, the only roles left are guitar and vocals

Ashido thinks they need to consider staging as well, things that add to the atmosphere for the dance party. She suggests Uraraka levitating Todoroki and Kirishima, Red Riot smashing away at Todoroki’s ice and with Aoyama as the “disco ball”, they’ll have a big sparkling effect, which Aoyama doesn’t really like

Deku, Tsuyu, Uraraka and Kirishima return from supplementary lessons, Uraraka surprised that Jirou isn’t singing. Mineta, Kirishima and Aoyama volunteer, but they’re all awful in various ways

When Jirou finally gets up the nerve, her talent is astounding. They still need the bass and guitar, Kaminari and Mineta wanting to, though Mineta can’t reach the fret board because he’s so short

Tokoyami surprises everyone with his guitar talent, the band basically wrapped up.

Mineta’s irritated at all this, Ashido saying she’ll let him dance with the girls around him, changing his mind quickly

At 1AM, all the parts have been decided: Jirou, Kaminari, Tokoyami, Bakugou and Momo are the band, while Kouda, Sero, Todoroki, Aoyama and Kirishima are the staging team, everyone else in the dance group.

Deku meets with All Might the next day, asking him for advice about how to fight against long range attacks, his 20% One For All only able to work as well as it did because of Eri’s assistance. All Might says Deku should have long range attacks as well

They move to a different location, Deku told to unleash Full Cowl at 20% and then attack from where he’s standing. The sheer force is able to create an attack of wind pressure to Deku’s amazement.

All Might says that Deku’s already been able to do that since he got to 15%, but now he needs to learn to control it and release that power in bursts that are concentrated in particular areas rather than focused across his entire body, which just limits his mobility now.

The chapter ends as Deku resolves to practice this and the day of the cultural festival arrives as Eri comes with Mirio.

Seven Deadly Sins 255

King and the others are trying to stop Merlin, who wants to go ahead of Stigma and the others to rescue Arthur in Camelot. Escanor is especially dismissive of Arthur, which irritates Merlin

Hawk asks why she’s willing to go so far for him, Merlin simply saying he was chosen by the Holy Sword to lead Camelot

We shift back to Arthur facing off against Meliodas, along with Zeldris, Cusack and Chandler.

Meliodas mocks Arthur, saying he’s much more impressive now than when he was moaning about how he couldn’t protect Merlin, Arthur retorting that Meliodas is no longer the person he knew

Zeldris inquires about the sword, Meliodas saying it’s neither Demon nor Goddess in origin.

Chandler moves to attack Arthur unexpectedly, but he’s cut in half, Cusack recognizing the sword technique from somewhere. Cusack’s arm is sliced off, Arthur catching Cath and turning to block Zeldris’ attack.

His defense is amazing, Zeldris saying it’s like that of a blind swordsman he saw in the past and then being pushed back by a flurry of stabs, the move of Tartenos, another famous fighter

Meliodas says the techniques used on Chandler and Cusack were by a swordsman by the name of Carfen.

Arthur explains that the sword was said by Merlin to be something very dangerous, only to be used when a true threat to Camelot appeared

Diane asks about how Excalibur chose its kings, Merlin saying that it was originally a sword with no magical power. Carfen, in his dying moments, cleansed the sword in blood, imbuing it with his essence. This process continued over the millennia, eventually gaining such power from the many warriors that it developed a will of its own, choosing worthy warriors itself.

The chapter ends as we see that Arthur has wounded even Meliodas and Zeldris, Merlin saying Arthur is truly a king among kings to be chosen as the next bearer of Excalibur

Golem Hearts 13

Erebus asks to use Noah’s golem body, begrudgingly because he doesn’t have any other golem to use. Noah insists he can still fight and that he’ll be the #1 Arcanist, the two bickering before the Riddle Golem interrupts them, saying they can’t hope to win

We see Erebus thinking about how hard he’s worked to surpass his grandfather and he uses a new Golem Art on Noah, Brave Knight, great power flowing through him

He smashes the golem away, but it rushes at him, using God Hand to try and overtake Noah’s body

To his shock, Noah still retains his form, even Brave Knight not disappearing, which confuses Erebus

Noah says that it’d be easy for the enemy to manipulate golems with no heart, but Noah has a dream he wants to accomplish and he won’t give up now

As the Riddle Golem tries to attack, Noah counterattacks, saying that someone who’s been alone all this time can’t beat Noah, who has friends who help him, a teacher who believes in him and a master that inspired him

The core falls from the destroyed body, Noah picking it up and telling the others he’s going to make a new golem. They’re worried he might make another dangerous golem, though the Riddle Golem phenomenon is pure chance.

Erebus moves to stop him, but Noah says that they’re the same in being golems with hearts and so he intends to make him a kind golem, the chapter ending on this

Dr. Stone 46

The others try to figure out what Tsukasa’s planning, Kohaku asking if he’s amassed a large group of people. Gen confirms that Tsukasa had depetrified a lot of people, but that the leader and another guy called Hyouga are the most dangerous, such that they should run if they arrive

Kinrou and Ginrou are standing guard at the village, Kinrou telling Ginrou to run and tell the others as he sees some of Tsukasa’s supporters arrive

Kinrou says that Ginrou should cut the bridge if he’s defeated, since the children are the closest to the approaching army

One of the men attacks Kinrou with a sword as another watches. Kinrou easily beats his opponent, the other man observing revealed to be Hyouga, who confronts Kinrou

Ginrou warns the others as we see Kinrou isn’t having an easy time with his eyesight, plus Hyouga’s skill with the spear is amazing, managing to stab Kinrou

Kinrou tells Ginrou to cut down the bridge, Kohaku held back by her father since it’s dangerous to fight Hyouga on the bridge. But Ginrou hesitates, not wanting to kill his brother

Senkuu moves to ready the gunpowder, even though he says it’d just be a bluff in this situation

Gen stops him, asking who the strongest is. Chrome says it has to be Magma, Gen instructing Magma to throw a rock at Hyouga.

Magma is resistant, but Gen manipulates him with the idea that he could take Senkuu’s position and the threat is such that they have to work together for now

The rock is thrown, the splash drawing Hyouga’s attention as Gen tells him that the Kingdom of Science has achieved guns, Senkuu using the iron pipe and gunpowder to make it seem like he has the weapon along with the splash from Magma's rock that he threw furthering the illusion

The chapter ends as Hyouga says Tsukasa will be impressed, Senkuu telling him to report that he’s alive to his leader, the war on the horizon now as Tsukasa’s army retreats.

We Can’t Study 50

There’s a few pages celebrating the one year anniversary, though barely half a year has passed in the story itself, which Rizu points out

The chapter proper starts with a study camp, which is the final part of the cram school, 4 days and 3 nights at a lodge, diligently studying all the while.

Rizu and Uruka are in the open air bath, relaxing after another hard day, Uruka commenting how Rizu’s chest is floating in the bath, to her embarrassment.

Fumino is washing her hair, wanting to avoid the conversation about chest size. But she thinks to herself about whether Yuiga has made any progress with Rizu or Uruka, and whether her sharing a room with Yuiga counted as progress in their relationship

Getting shampoo in her eyes, she washes it out. But to her shock, Yuiga comes in since he thought it was the men’s bath, the employee forgetting to switch the signs before he entered.

Uruka and Rizu move to get out, Fumino asking if Yuiga saw anything. He says he didn’t even realize it was a girl next to him, making her a bit angry.

But Uruka and Rizu rush back, Sakamoto’s group from a few chapters ago coming into the bath. They point out to Yuiga that they can peek into the girls’ bath through a hole they plan to make in the bamboo fence, Yuiga trying to act like he isn’t interested, since Rizu, Uruka and Fumino are right there.

While the guys are trying to peek, the girls hide under buckets to sneak out. Yuiga’s stopped by one of the guys asking who he likes out of the three

Yuiga tries to deflect, but the guys persist, one even noting he really likes Furuhashi, though when he brings up her small chest, she throws her bucket at him.

The girls hide, bubbles coming up as they’re worried about being discovered. But before they can investigate, the guys reveal that they’ve gotten a hole opened in the fence

When the guys peer in, Asumi is right there, poking one of them in the eyes as she comments that they were so loud about it, she easily knew they were trying to peek.

Yuiga is still processing things afterwards, but is stunned when he sees a bra left on the floor, quickly picking it up

After Uruka and the others have escaped, they offer Yuiga some flavored milk as a thank you for helping them. He brings up the bra he found, telling Fumino specifically, who’s taken aback at this, though it turns out to be hers, the chapter ending on this reveal

Black Clover 145

The people of the Clover Royal Kingdom are confused at what’s happening, Yami seeing the mass of magic as well.

Julius realizes that Licht intends to attack all the populace with the attack, Licht saying he’ll kill everyone even if he can’t take out the Wizard King, using his Arrows of Judgment

Julius remembers how he saw that the nobles were often arrogant and selfish, not wanting to use their magic to protect the commoners.

Zara, Zora’s father, the first commoner to become a Magic Knight, showed Julius how much hard work can make someone strong enough to protect others, even with little magic power.

But after Zara died, his death attributed to a betrayal from within his team Julius was more motivated to change things, working his way to Wizard King. Things slowly began to change, Asta and Yuno’s presence both demonstrating to everyone that commoners are just as worthy of being Magic Knights and want to protect the Clover Kingdom

With this in mind, the people that he trusted and put his hope in for the future, Julius uses Time Reversal Magic, Chrono Anastasis, reversing the light swords’ time and making them disintegrate

Licht expected this, figuring that Julius would do that and expend his magic power, readying an attack to take advantage of the opening

Julius is stabbed with a light sword by Julius, the chapter ending as he says that was the Wizard King’s one weakness, wanting to protect others, Yami having arrived on the scene, threatening a new conflict.

Boku no Hero Academia 171

We see a video that La Brava is watching, the debut of Gentle, introducing himself as the Gentle Criminal, suggesting that he is between a Hero and a Villain, some of which we’re told about that are brand new to the story, like Destro, while others are familiar like All Might and All For One

Gentle explains his intentions, not committing crimes at random to upload on the internet, but targeting specific places, such as the convenience store before which was hiding the expiration labels of a popular pudding

But the company deflected and pretended not to know. Gentle presents himself as the modern chivalrous thief, a proverbial Robin Hood or the like.

La Brava is still frustrated at their low views, in no small part because of Stain and the Villain Alliance’s exploits.

Gentle says they gain such attention because of the violence in their exploits, but he intends to do the opposite, his next plan involving the place where they started

We shift back to UA, Brad talking to Aizawa about Class 1-A’s plans for the cultural festival.

Bakugou hears students from the General Education course disparage Class 1-A, thinking they’re trying to be overly considerate even though they’re seen as the clear source of the conflicts, including the Villain attacks and the new dorm system to keep students safe. He’s clearly frustrated at this, not liking when people diss his class, but possibly also not liking something about the idea itself

Jirou and the others are discussing what kind of music to play, but since they intend to use instruments, Jirou thinks that they’ll have a more difficult time without someone who has expertise in the drums versus other instruments she’s better at, like guitar.

But Kaminari brings up that Bakugou was forced to go to music classes, to everyone’s shock. He’s surprisingly good at the drums, but he rejects the offer, saying he doesn’t want to do this performance

Jirou begs him, saying he should try to be nice to his fellow classmates. But Bakugou retorts that this just seems like self satisfaction, to seem nice to everyone rather than doing stuff because they genuinely want to.

His motivation is more selfish in nature, even bringing up how they don’t fight the Villains because they want to get hurt. But in this situation, Bakugou decides that he’ll do this because he wants to show his talent rather than pleasing others that blame him for the situation UA’s in

Jirou is galvanized by Bakugou’s speech, wanting to do her best as well with the hobby she was lacking confidence in

The chapter concludes as we learn that Gentle intends to attack the cultural festival, showing that he can get past even UA’s advanced security and show up the Villain Alliance

One Piece 895

We see Luffy’s Snake Man form as Katakuri comments he does look different from Bound Man.

Luffy says he’s much faster, Katakuri dodging his first blow, but struck from the side by another

We see that Luffy’s attacks are snaking around, the stretching much faster as Luffy hits Katakuri, though he does block some of the force.

As Luffy rushes to strike again, Katakuri uses Diced Mochi, making his arm sprout spikes, Luffy getting stuck in them as Katakuri slams him into the ground

Luffy and Katakuri continue to pound each other in the face, both refusing to give up.

Black Mamba, another new technique of Snake Man, is let loose, a rush of attacks going at Katakuri who manages to dodge them

The chapter ends as the two clash, Katakuri using Diced Mochi again, while Luffy readies King Cobra

One Piece is on break next week

Seven Deadly Sins 254

Zeldris returns, unable to acquire the Faith Commandment from Merlin. He also tells Meliodas that the Four Archangels have come back and allied with the Seven Deadly Sins.

But Meliodas isn’t worried, saying that once they gather the Commandments and he becomes Demon King, they won’t stand a chance

Estarossa, meanwhile, finds Galand’s petrified body, smashing it to pieces and chanting an incantation to get the Truth Commandment

Arthur is trying to get to the castle, but seems to be delayed by a magic of some sort, the cat attached to him disappearing.

We see Peronia, using Marchen Maze to keep Arthur away from the castle and Excalibur

But she’s approached by the cat, seemingly called Cath, and Arthur manages to get into the castle, Cath meeting back up with him as we see what may be pieces of Peronia, still alive, but weakened by Cath’s attack

Zeldris appears before Arthur, saying he’s not authorized to be here and that his Commandment didn’t react to him, Arthur panicking as Cusack appears behind him.

Cath uses telekinesis to keep the two occupied as Arthur runs ahead to where Excalibur is.

He arrives in the chamber, but before he can grasp the sword, he’s attacked from behind, Cusack and Zeldris holding Cath’s beaten up body.

Meliodas appears as well, Arthur infuriated at his betrayal of everyone, even Arthur’s own admiration for the Sin of Wrath. The king remembers how Meliodas told him that he shouldn’t be concerned with what others think of him, but how he can help others instead.

The chapter ends as Arthur pulls out Excalibur, ready to fight Meliodas.
