Dr. Stone 18

Ginrou is still amazed at the bubbles, calling for Chrome, who appears, introducing himself as the Genius Sorcerer, which Senkuu isn’t impressed at.

But when Chrome comments that they can make these bubbles with charcoal lye, Senkuu seems to react as if Chrome is smarter than he appears.

Kinrou says he doesn’t need Chrome’s help, but Chrome says he won’t give up on his claim as the best in sorcery.

In concern for the safety of the villagers, Chrome tells Senkuu they should have their match elsewhere.

Chrome goes to a small hut to get tools for his sorcery, starting a flame and changing the colors with a technique he calls Rainbow Flame.

Senkuu deduces it’s just basic flame color reactions, throwing in salt, copper and sulfur to change it to yellow, blue and purple, which makes Chrome panic, since Senkuu was so quick to figure out how his sorcery worked

But he has another trick, bringing out an orb that he rubs and uses to generate static electricity that he zaps Ginrou with.

Senkuu’s impressed at Chrome making such a thing by melting the sulfur in an earthenware pot and breaking the clay so he can create the orb afterwards. He suggests using the flag so they can generate more power, creating a stronger electric attack and making it so his hair stands up, Kohaku and Ginrou following suit and impressed at how it works.

Senkuu asks Chrome if he figured out all this stuff on his own, Chrome saying he was so curious about the things he found and basically experimented, using science without even realizing it.

Tsukasa’s attempts to suppress science, in Senkuu’s view, would still fail when there are people like Chrome who would nonetheless revive science in their own way.

Senkuu says that Chrome should join him, Chrome challenging him to one final duel in arithmetic. But he loses off panel, the chapter ending as Chrome agrees to give his storehouse and his talents to Senkuu’s science kingdom.

We Can’t Study 21

We start the chapter as Yuiga reveals to Rizu, Fumino and Uruka that his mom won a smartphone in a drawing, so his family is sharing it. He’s excited to use the apps and such, but reveals that he doesn’t really know how to use it.

Uruka offers to help, even discovering a study tip about how studying in the bath can improve the effectiveness, though she laughs it off

But later in the day, Yuiga finds that it’s actually helpful, since his younger brother and sister can’t bother him and it gives that feeling of a secret base or the like.

He goes to download a dictionary app by searching, but mistakenly messages Fumino, who’s also in the bath. They both think it’s a bit awkward to message the opposite sex in the bath, but brush it off as Yuiga ends the call.

Yuiga tries again, but ends up calling Rizu, though her father initially answers it to her irritation. Rizu doesn’t seem to care about the situation, even commenting that just because they’re both naked doesn’t make it awkward, though when she closes her eyes, she imagines Yuiga in the bath, which makes her shut down slightly.

After his previous failures, Yuiga tries to use the voice recognition search, but ends up calling Uruka. She’s not in the bath, though she is getting washed outside of it, as per Japanese practice.

Yuiga hints that he’s in the bath after he asks if she was studying as well, Uruka imagining that he’s washing her, which makes her put it on speakerphone so she doesn’t drop it.

But it turns out she put it on video mode instead, Yuiga nearly seeing her fully naked. She realizes this and moves to turn it off, practically flashing her nude body to Yuiga, who accidentally drops his phone in the bath.

The chapter ends as Yuiga sulks after having to send the phone to get repaired, but also thinking about that image burned into his mind of Uruka.

Black Clover 116

Kirsch Vermillion seems to be very narcissistic, despairing at a world that has such ugly people in it and yet he’s so beautiful by comparison. Even Magna and Sol don’t really get along well with him, Asta wondering if the team will be okay

Mimosa brushes off Kirsch’s greetings, already quite tired of his attitude, Asta berated by Kirsch for greeting him in such a familiar fashion as if they’re already friends.

Asta doesn’t care about Kirsch insulting his muscles or suggesting that training makes one weak, since Asta trained because he wasn’t strong in magic. Kirsch still considers Asta ugly in how he struggles, but Mimosa shuts him down by saying that he ought to win so she and Asta can defeat him when they face off, surprisingly brutal to her brother.

The next match begins in earnest, Yuno surprised at Kirsch’s behavior, Klaus saying that Kirsch is the Vice Captain of the Coral Peacocks, allegedly the one who does all the work since their captain sleeps all the time.

Magna Swing thinks they should just rush to destroy the crystal, but the opponents push him back with Bronze Magic tigers.

Kirsch appears next to Magna, telling him that he’s misusing his talents. He suggests that Magna surrender himself to the mana and use both long and short range attacks, which Magna agrees to.

Sol attacks with her golems, but the opponent’s Mud Magic captures it in a sinkhole.

Kirsch suggests to Sol that she use 5 smaller golems as a feint or even hide them underground, Sol also agreeing.

The third opponents attacks with Water Magic, but Kirsch’s Cherry Blossom magic allows him to create an illusion for them as they miss the actual crystal, creating a path to guide Magna and Sol to attack the other 2 members of the team, finishing the match quickly as the chapter ends on Asta and Mimosa wondering how they can face someone like him and their teamwork.

Boku no Hero Academia 144

As Fatgum prepares to use his attack, Rappa tells Tengai to lower the barrier, Tengai realizing that Kirishima was just trying to open them up for Fatgum’s final attack

But Kirishima says he was just scared, flashing back to when he tried to defend a student who was being bullied into using his Quirk for illegal purposes. He’s pushed aside, since his Quirk still isn’t as well trained yet, his friends saying he’s being meddling in regards to his attempts at chivalry and imitating Crimson Riot.

We see Ashido stop the guys who are pressuring the student who has tanuki like powers into transforming leaves to $100 bills. She convinces them to give up, showing how sociable and nice she is, Kirishima’s friends thinking she has more potential to be a Hero. They comment that today’s Heroes are more about appearance and popularity, Kirishima thinking he does feel dull by comparison to Ashido’s Acid Quirk.

His friends think they shouldn’t even hope to become Heroes, Kirishima still doubting himself in comparison to Ashido or the like, thinking that he’s too plain.

But he sees students from his middle school being accosted by a tall stone like Villain asking where a certain Hero’s offices are and Kirishima finds he can’t move, paralyzed by his fear

Ashido steps in, making up some directions to get the Villain to leave, Kirishima still watching in disbelief that she was able to be so courageous.

A story that came up during the summer about a middle schooler resisting a Villain before All Might came in only makes Kirishima more self deprecating when he hears that another middle schooler without a Quirk intervened, likely referring to the incident with Deku, Bakugou and the Slime Villain.

The chapter ends as we see him mark out the entry he had for wanting to go to Yuuei for high school and future career prospects.

Chapter was a bit shorter this week for some reason, though it could be similar to what happened earlier this year with Seven Deadly Sins’, Nakaba sensei being a bit sick at that point

Magi 354

We see Alibaba and Aladdin attack the giant stone angels to protect the people of Sindria as Aladdin remembers how Sinbad changed everyone’s wish to be united under the idea of returning to the rukh.

Aladdin, Alibaba and Hakuryuu combine their efforts, Aladdin stopping their advance with his dimensional manipulation, Hakuryuu using Zagan to bind them with plants and Alibaba blasting them with Amon’s flames

Judal thinks he and Hakuryuu could handle this, Aladdin noticing the Rukh is still moving west, in the direction of Heliohapt and Parthevia.

Aladdin and Alibaba leave through Aladdin’s magic teleportation circle, Judar and Hakuryuu staying behind, since Judar’s circle can’t go as far.

The people of Sindria lash out at Judar, noting how he caused suffering with the first Sindria kingdom years ago, asking why he’s here again.

The pair notes how this will be much more difficult, since these people want to die, but Judar thinks that Sinbad, having changed thanks to Alibaba, should be able to change things as well.

Hakuryuu agrees, Sinbad being the guardian of the Sacred Palace who changed things likely the only one who can do such a thing now

We see David and Sinbad continue to try and overwhelm each other by shifting the hierarchy of the gods in the Sacred Palace.

Ugo notes the same conclusion that Hakuryuu and Judar did, that Sinbad has to defeat David and become the master of the Sacred Palace

David asks Sinbad why he would even change his mind, saying that he and Sinbad used to have the same view, to take the Rukh and fight against the gods.

Ugo says Sinbad’s changed, but Sinbad speaks as if he may be agreeing with David, saying that the view the same destiny of overthrowing the gods, Ugo shocked at this turn of events as the chapter ends

One Piece 871

Bege tells Caesar they just need to get over the wall of Whole Cake Plateau and they’re home free.

Perospero creates another Candy Wall to block their escape, but Ichiji, Niji and Yonji use Black Bug to smash through it.

As Caesar continues to escape, we see Du Feld approached by Stussy, who asks what he intends to do with the Tamatebako once he finds it. Du Feld falls down to where the box is, but before he can open it, Stussy blasts him with a long distance Shigan, revealing she’s part of CP0, an agent of the World Government.

Stussy notes that Morgans, who’s nearby, will write the story as she deems fit, Morgans agreeing if he can look inside the Tamatebako. But Du Feld, in his stupor, pushes the box over the edge again to the shock of Morgans and Stussy.

Big Mom taunts Luffy for running away after he was so confident that he could defeat her, Luffy clashing with her using Gear Fourth, but Big Mom still able to endure the attacks.

Luffy claims after they beat Kaidou, Big Mom is next, but the Yonkou insists he can’t hope to beat the Beast King, let alone escape from her territory, Luffy falling into his weakened form as Sanji grabs him

Judge clashes with Big Mom, saying he can’t forgive himself for letting her exploit the 300 years of study he and Vegapunk have continued to use to this day, but Big Mom says Judge needn’t worry, that she’ll use his knowledge well.

She blasts him with Lightning Bolt, seemingly taking him out of the battle.

Caesar runs into Katakuri, Ichiji using Sparking Figure to blast Katakuri away slightly so Caesar can get away.

But Caesar then runs into Brulee, who blocks his way with her Mirror Mirror powers.

We see that pretty much everyone has been beaten, Luffy and Sanji unable to run away fast enough, Judge and the other Germa 66 on their last legs.

Pedro and Jinbe move to leave Bege to fight as well, Big Mom ready to finish everyone off.

But the chapter ends as the Tamatebako lands on the ground, exploding as the Whole Cake Plateau starts to collapse as its base has been compromised.

One Piece’s 20th anniversary is coming up in the next few weeks and we’ll hopefully get the character popularity poll soon.

Seven Deadly Sins 224

Meliodas explains that he and Elizabeth were cursed 3000 years ago for the sins they committed in the eyes of their races, for Goddess or Demon to join hands and to aid the Ten Commandments or betray them respectively.

The Supreme Deity, leader of the Goddess Clan and the Demon King, leader of the Demon Clan, utterly defeated Meliodas and Elizabeth, but they awoke seemingly restored.

Meliodas saw Elizabeth’s body, mourning her death as he later discovered the Holy War had ended. He continued to wander, discovering he didn’t age at all.

But to his surprise he met someone who looked very much like Elizabeth, only without wings. He embraced her, but she rebuffed him initially.

They slowly became friends and Elizabeth’s Goddess powers awakened. Meliodas then told her about their past and her memories began to return slowly.

As Elizabeth fully remembers things, she reveals to Meliodas that they were cursed. But before she divests anything further, she asks him to promise that he will break this curse, even if she should die.

Elizabeth then explains that they were cursed with Eternal Life and Perpetual Reincarnation respectively. Meliodas will not age and revive even if he should die, and Elizabeth will live short spans as a human, coming back with her previous memories gone. But if she recalls them, no matter what happens, she will die in 3 days. And she will always fall in love with him, yet also inevitably die, so much more the tragedy than before.

Meliodas says he’s seen 107 Elizabeths and 106 of them have died before him no matter how he’s tried to save her. But the promise he made to Elizabeth is what has kept him going.

Merlin notes that breaking the curse would require someone possessing a power like the Demon King or Supreme Deity, which means Zeldris at this point might be considered such a person.

Meliodas insists they should focus on the task at hand in spite of Diane and the others being sympathetic to his plight. Diane asks what happens if the curse is broken, Meliodas saying they will be freed from their eternal life and perpetual reincarnation and truly die, which is his goal

The chapter ends as the group continues to head towards Corand and stop Merascylla’s dimensional distortion.

Fairy Tail 542

Minerva and the rest of Sabertooth are fighting in vain against Acnologia, their attacks doing nothing. They wonder how they can even draw his attention.

A blast from the Apocalypse Dragon narrowly misses Fairy Tail, Minerva thinking that the only reason Acnologia’s here when he’s otherwise indiscriminately attacking, is that he was drawn to the immense magic gathered in Magnolia.

The Dragon Slayers continue to attack Acnologia, but he reminds them that their magic attacks are useless against him, toppling every one of them with a single attack.

Erza and her group arrive where Gray and the others are at Hargeon Port, saying that their best change is to attack Acnologia with physical blows to draw him to the boat. There are still 2 concerns: whether Minerva and the others can draw Acnologia here and whether Lucy and her group can find the book with the information on Fairy Sphere.

Coincidentally, as the books were knocked over in Fairy Tail’s library, Lucy manages to find the one book in a pile that fell on her that has the method to use Fairy Sphere in it.

Cobra is beaten down by Acnologia, but stands up, saying he has to protect his own friends, referring to the Oracion Seis

The Oracion Seis offer their own assistance to Minerva and Sabretooth, Midnight using her power to draw Acnologia in the direction of their next location

Sting and Rogue say they can’t lose either, that they have to get back to their friends at Sabretooth, who we see drawing Acnologia further towards Hargeon Port

We see Lucy, Freed, Levy, along with Charle, Happy and Tigerlily, flying to Hargeon, Levy confident she can read the spell.

Meanwhile, Laxus, Gajille, Wendy and Natsu all say that they’ll defeat Acnologia, who laughs at their courage.

The groups at the port prepare to assist Lucy when they get there, Minerva and Yukino along with Frosch and Lector arriving as Erza says she’ll handle things from here.

But the chapter ends as Acnologia unleashes another rain of blasts, destroying all the ships in the harbor, rendering that part of Lucy’s plan immaterial now.
