Dr. Stone is officially in Weekly Shonen Jump America’s lineup. Now if they just get to We Never Learn/We Can’t Study…
Dr. Stone 7
Senkuu makes it look like they left the base in a hurry, heading off with Taiju and Yuzuriha to Hakone, about 80km away, to find the materials for gunpowder, so they can defeat Tsukasa.
They look for some landmarks, Senkuu’s handmade sextant not helping them much. Yuzuriha brings up Kamakura’s Buddha, the group managing to discover it, which makes her weep in a mix of happiness and sadness. She’s relieved that Japan is still around in some way, but also anguished by the death of everyone she knew and loved.
Taiju seems to think it’s a sign, but Senkuu explains that it didn’t break down only because it was made of bronze and there was no greenery around it because the bronze ions spread out and made the soil inhospitable to plants.
Thinking he can use the bronze in the Kamakura Buddha to make a mirror and improve the sextant, he goes about that.
Later, the group sees cherry blossoms, though apparently they’re a new breed, the original Somei Yoshino extinct because they didn’t self pollinate.
As the group progresses, Taiju suddenly notices that some of Yuzuriha’s toes are still stone, the nitrite poured on them to try and revive them as well.
Senkuu says that her slight feeling of cold and such is related to the scars that they have on their faces from the mild injury of being revived from stone. They need to hurry to Hakone, since Senkuu hints they might be able to find something to help with Yuzuriha’s toes.
Tsukasa, meanwhile has deduced that they didn’t leave in a hurry, trying to trick him like they already did.
Senkuu, Taiju and Yuzuriha all take a soak in the hot springs, though the true goal is the sulfur in the volcanic hot springs, the first part of gunpowder.
The chapter ends as Tsukasa has figured out where they’re going and what they plan to make, saying he needs to stop them soon, as Senkuu says this will be the perfect weapon against Tsukasa.
We Can’t Study 10
Takemoto’s swimming club friends pull her away after practice, putting her in a cute dress, saying she should finally confess to Yuiga.
Coincidentally, Yuiga is at the store, since he makes his family’s clothes and comes there for references.
Kawase and Umihara tell Yuiga that Takemoto is looking for an English reference book, leaving the two of them alone. Takemoto hastily buys the dress and goes with Yuiga to find the text
Seeing a book about becoming a princess, Uruka remembers her childhood dreams and how the boys crushed them by telling her it wouldn’t suit her tomboy style
Yuiga shows her a text, getting close as a child notices them, observing they look like a couple, flustering Uruka
They leave, seeing a sale elsewhere that offers an item that Nariyuki’s little sister wanted. Noticing it’s couples only, Takemoto offers to play a couple with Yuiga
It turns out it’s a princess hold competition, Takemoto worried about how Yuiga will think of her being so heavy with muscle and Yuiga concerned that Takemoto’s embarrassed. They manage to hold out until the end
Afterwards, Yuiga confides that he was worried about Takemoto, but she says she wasn’t that embarrassed. Takemoto asks Yuiga if she looks like a princess in the dress, but changes her mind about his opinion as she rushes off.
The chapter ends as her friends congratulate her on getting such an experience
Black Clover 106
Asta and Yuno bicker as the rivals they are, the Wizard King still praising them for their achievements.
But when Sekke reveals that they are commoners, people start to wonder if they really achieved all of this on their own.
Yuno uses Bell’s Sylph power and launches an attack at Asta, who blocks it instinctively, furious at Yuno for trying to kill him.
The Wizard King says this demonstrates that they’re the real deal and that their hard work should be praised. Everyone agrees, saying they should all work that hard and unite together as a country.
Yuno and Asta are still in amazement at how far they’ve come as the crowd continues to cheer.
The rest of the rankings are announced, the Silver Eagles just behind the Black Bulls.
The chapter ends as the king of the Clover Kingdom is walking up to make his appearance.
Boku no Hero Academia 134
Taking the brunt of it, Kirishima takes his opponent down with Red Gauntlet, barely making it before his time limit runs out.
The villain still talks about how he just wanted to be stronger, drawing Kirishima’s sympathy before he pushes himself past him to escape.
Thankfully, Fatgum arrives, stopping his escape as he notes that a Hero’s conditions for victory are simply to capture the Villain without victims.
The bystanders congratulate Kirishima for his efforts, even though he didn’t do the final capture, saying that he’ll be a great Hero in the future.
The drug seems to be an inferior version, the African variant lasting for a few hours according to Fatgum.
The police are still investigating things, but for now they have to accept that Suneater can’t use his Quirk, though Kirishima is still impressed at his senior and his abilities.
The next day, Kirishima, Tsuyu and Uraraka are all congratulated for being in the news, though Iida warns them to not fall behind on their studies.
The day afterwards, Deku, Kirishima, Tsuyu and Uraraka are all heading to the same location.
Turns out this is the meeting hinted at before, various Hero agencies working under Nighteye to investigate the Eight Precepts of Death and what they’re doing, the chapter ending on this.
Magi 342
Aladdin comments that Sinbad seems to just be doing this challenge to show his power as the candidate to be a god, but the Seven Seas King says it’s more complicated than that. He thinks Aladdin and the others have potential, but they’ve still fallen below his expectations.
The young Magi still pushes his answer, saying that this world seems irrational, but we should compete with each other and live by our own wills, recognizing that we have similar goals that can benefit all of us in spite of still being self centered in a way.
Sinbad understands this, but Aladdin still asks why he wants to change the world, Sinbad merely saying it’s because he wanted to.
He knows that the world can change, but he thinks that even his closest allies, the Eight Generals, don’t want things to change anymore.
In the beginning, they were motivated and accomplished much. But once they reached these lofty goals in reality, they started to lack any desire to innovate
Sinbad thinks that they became too attached to what they had created: they enjoyed what they had with the Sindria Kingdom and didn’t want things to become too new
Their nostalgia and desire to keep things as they are stagnates them, but Sinbad still wants to continue forward towards better things, which he sees as destiny.
We see Judal, Hakuryuu and Alibaba all in transit as Sinbad says that it isn’t unusual to want to protect what you’ve made, but it’s those desires to protect your special groups that create war in the first place, Aladdin remembering how all the conflicts they’ve seen were based in such things, from Balbadd to Magnostadt and even Reim and the Kou Empire.
And while those desires motivate people to change and realize their dreams, they also push them to fight to continue protecting them, fighting against others with different dreams.
Aladdin realizes that Sinbad has been so anguished by this realization that as a human, no matter how much he changes, human nature won’t change
The two still won’t see eye to eye on Sinbad using the power of the Sacred Palace to manipulate the Rukh, but Sinbad brings up an argument of his own.
He says that destiny and Solomon himself may very well have meant for him to be god, surviving in spite of initially being absorbed into the Rukh, the chapter ending as things change drastically again.
Seven Deadly Sins 213
We see Rou slashing through Giants, Goddesses and Fairies, Gerharde pleading for everyone to stop.
A Goddess Clan member tells her she should shut up and fight, but Rou stabs him in the chest, telling Gerdarde she should leave unless she wants to die.
Rou is stabbed in the leg by a Fairy, Gerharde stepping in to defend them as Rou threatens them.
But she still can’t act even as Rou provokes her to attack. She’s suddenly attacked by another human, the Fairy behind her killed and her own right eye damaged, which reflects her appearance in the present
Rou tells him to leave her be, but the human continues to attack her slicing off the Fairy’s legs, Gerharde thinking this must be retribution for something.
The human lies dead, killed by Rou, who cradles Gerharde as she lies dying in his arms. He asks why she didn’t kill him herself.
Gerharde says she sensed a sadness in him and even noticed a face of someone important to him.
It was Rou’s childhood friend, someone he protected fiercely and even wanted to marry when they grew up.
But she was killed in a Stigma raid on their village for harboring a Demon they had nursed back to health. Rou and some others had been training elsewhere, so they were spared.
They trained to one day get their revenge, and they achieved it with this attack, Rou wondering if his friend would be happy.
Gerharde thinks that what they’ve done is little better and that Rou must be lying to avoid the guilt in his heart, since she can read that as a Fairy.
Rou wonders what Meliodas would think of this, what Gloxinia would do if he saw this.
But Gerharde says she’ll explain things, that she committed a sin as well, her inaction in response to Rueduciel’s cruelty what enabled the Holy War to continue.
As Gerharde continues to die, she tells Rou that seeing the face of his childhood friend in his heart makes her think he was caring about her
She wonders what this feeling in her own heart is. But before Rou can answer, he senses Gloxinia behind him, turning around
Gerharde tries to explain, but coughs up blood again, begging Rou to run away. But he says he’s okay with things ending like this, telling Gerharde to live
King remembers how he failed to save Elaine in the past, his failure as Gloxinia to save Gerharde just further emphasizing the past.
His rage overwhelms him, the chapter ending as he unleashes the Spirit Spear and throws it at Rou to kill him
One Piece 862
We hear a song to start the ceremony as Luffy is still asleep inside Bege’s castle body.
The wedding cake is revealed, massive in scale and the site for the vows to be exchanged.
Big Mom is still planning her murder of the Vinsmoke family, seating them at the perfect location to be taken out by the gun wielding pirates.
The vows are exchanged and Sanji is ready to lift the veil, but Katakuri notices something with his Haki, Pudding falling to the ground unexpectedly.
As Sanji lifts Pudding’s veil, she reveals her third eye, which Sanji comments is beautiful, making her freeze up in disbelief. She’s frustrated that he would try such a thing, never seen as pretty in her whole life with that third eye.
She remembers how she was treated like a monster and how that made her act as such.
In the present, she’s still weeping, saying that she has to kill Sanji, that’s she’s just a monster.
Big Mom tells the priest to do it instead, but Katakuri knows he’ll miss, taking him out with a jellybean, which was intended for Sanji who dodged it.
Things are in chaos, but as the gunshot signaled the start of the plan, we see multiple Luffy’s jump out of the wedding cake, likely through Brulee’s Devil Fruit as the chapter ends.
Fairy Tail 530
We flashback to 15+years in the past when the
Eclipse Gate was first activated, a literal eclipse occurring at the same time
and shooting stars seen by Princess Hisui.
Lucy’s mother, Layla, has opened the gate, Anna
appearing before her. She asks what year it is, but is confused when she
doesn’t see the 5 children with her, 5 lights seen coming out of the portal by
the king.
Anna explains that she wrote the book passed down in
the Heartfilia household, conveying the secret of when one would open the Eclipse
Gate with the 12 Celestial Spirit keys.
Layla asks about why Anna came to this time period,
Anna saying she cannot tell her yet. The king deduces that the magic power must
be high in this time period for Layla to have opened the gate according to the
book, Layla saying she wanted to prevent her daughter, Lucy, from taking on
this responsibility.
Anna is grateful that Layla and her ancestors
continued her work, that the world is still around and flourishing, though she
thinks to herself that it may mean her actions were pointless, casting that
doubt aside for now.
The first thing Anna needs to do is find the 5
children she was separated from, asking Layla to keep this a secret and the
king to destroy the gate.
Sadly, Layla died later that year and Anna could not
reunite with her.
She realized the cause of the accident that had
separated her and the Dragon Slayer children. There was an abnormal magic in
this time period, the Ravines of Time, which was devoid of any element
The fact that they travelled 400 years through time
made it so that time’s tendency to retain order generated something such that
it was pure nothingness, something even Acnologia could not exist in.
So the plan is to draw Acnologia into that, though
the hole is explained by Anna to only be about the size of an orange, concealed
by her so that no one would mistakenly be drawn into it.
The plan is to detour around the Ravines of Time and
wait in front of it, Acnologia running into it while he pursues them.
Meanwhile, we see Lucy, Gray and Happy holding the
Book of END, Happy wondering if they should open it to look inside, saying that
Mavis’ words about their bonds of friendship somehow being a way to save Natsu.
Gray worries to himself about Zeref’s true desire
that he told him before, but he thinks it won’t happen as long as Natsu’s
around.
We shift to Natsu and Zeref’s fight, the Dark Mage
disappointed at Natsu’s inability to destroy him.
Zeref speaks about how he plans to use Mavis’ Fairy
Heart magic to return to his true self, a plan called Neo Eclipse
He’ll reset time and fix things so that he won’t
become immortal, Natsu will be human and Acnologia will be destroyed.
But Natsu can’t fathom that he’ll render everything
that’s happened now entirely void, that Zeref will treat that like it doesn’t
matter
The chapter ends as Zeref reveals that there are 2
parts to the Neo Eclipse plan: Mavis, who he thinks will return soon, and the
Ravines of Time.
