Dr. Stone 5
In spite of Senkuu thinking they
need to keep the secret of the nitric acid in the cave from Tsukasa, Taiju
blabs about it immediately as he brings the water he revealed he had from last
chapter.
It turns out Taiju didn’t get
enough, Senkuu sending him back to get more. Tsukasa says he should get it,
taking the bait Senkuu left, thinking he should only know half the formula,
unaware that it also requires alcohol.
After Tsukasa leaves, Senkuu and
Taiju prepare the water as we see that Tsukasa has deduced that nitric acid is
part of the formula for reviving petrified people.
Meanwhile,
Taiju is told that
Shishiou is behaving suspiciously, believing his friend in spite of not
fully
understanding the situation. But Senkuu is confident that even if
Shishiou is a person with good intentions, he has murdered people and
continues to do so after he
finds a group of people, smashing the older ones.
Taiju pours the solution on
Yuzuriha, the reaction taking some time to undo the process. Senkuu has
theorized that there is some kind of mysterious material that covers the person
and with nitrite they can cause the substance to break off across the body.
As Yuzuriha comes back, Taiju
remembers how he kept himself conscious all this time because of his promise to
her.
Yuzuriha awakens, seemingly having
been asleep since the petrification, meaning that it isn’t a guarantee that you
die if you fall asleep through petrification.
The two are happy to be reunited,
but Senkuu interrupts them, saying they need to decide what to do about
Tsukasa.
Either they move somewhere else or
they confront him directly to stop his murdering, the chapter ending on this decision
point
We Can’t Study 8
Yuiga is told by the
headmaster that Furuhashi and Ogata must score average or higher on their
midterms, showing that his tutoring is bearing results. If they can’t manage
this, the headmaster tells Yuiga he should try to convince them to change their
subjects out of kindness.
Fumino and Rizu see Yuiga leaving,
but happen to overhear another teacher, Kirisu, saying that Yuiga seems to not
be taking his duties seriously and that he should step down if his students
cannot show better scores in the midterms.
Yuiga is encouraged to help his
pupils get better grades, but Rizu and Fumino are still concerned about the
situation, since they’ve lost many tutors in the past.
Rizu asks Yuiga to help her study at
her home, Yuiga meeting her father, who’s thankful at someone helping his
daughter, though he’s also very protective of her, which makes Rizu chide him
for embarrassing her. She’s only here because her dad’s not good with the
register
Yuiga sees how Rizu is motivated,
putting lots of effort into learning the texts related to her subject and
trying to understand the meaning behind the characters’ actions and the like.
Rizu is worried about how to focus
on the essential parts, Yuiga saying he may have a technique for her.
Afterwards, as they’re leaving, Rizu
confides in Yuiga that she’s worried about failing, but Yuiga simply says that
if she fails they’ll study harder for the next test.
The day of the test, only half of it
contains the material they studied, the other part surprise questions.
Rizu starts to remember all the
tutors who doubted her, saying her motivations were simple or childish. But
thinking about how Yuiga actually accepted her wish to study humanities instead
of the sciences motivates her.
Yuiga’s technique for finding the
essence of the author’s message is
explained, the cross out method, taking out stuff that’s more padding and
getting to the core of the text by focusing towards what it’s saying without
the extraneous fluff.
Rizu manages to get a 71, the only
reason her score was lower due to her getting focused on the cross out method
and filling in answers randomly at the end.
The chapter ends as Yuiga is ready
to help Fumino with her math test for tomorrow, but it seems Fumino might have
caught a cold, making things more challenging.
Black Clover 104
Charlotte continues to attack
her attempted suitor, nearly killing him.
Asta tries to intervene, bumping
into Sol, Charlotte’s underling. She berates him for getting in the way,
forcing a new dress on Charlotte. They tell the onlookers not to appreciate how
beautiful the Blue Rose captain is, only other members of her group permitted
to do so.
Yami arrives, noticing Asta.
Charlotte calms herself, not wanting
to be seen by another captain in a dress like this, but Yami immediately
recognizes her, Charlotte commenting that his festival clothes are fairly
weird, wearing something like a loincloth, baring his chest
Sol tries to shoo Yami away, but he
ignores her.
Vanessa appears, wanting to drink
with Yami. She notices Charlotte, seeing her as a rival, Charlotte doing the
same because of how friendly Vanessa is with Yami.
A vendor announces that they’re
selling Clover Beer, Vanessa challenging Charlotte to a drinking contest to
show that she can hold her alcohol, which Yami halfheartedly admits he does
like in a woman
Charlotte is forced into the
competition, in spite of her disinterest. Vanessa, already drunk, is falling
asleep, the Blue Rose captain drinking, but is shown to be weak against alcohol
herself.
We flashback to Charlotte’s past,
cursed in some unknown way, which will affect her on her 18th birthday. This
motivates her to become strong so she can overcome the curse, disregarding weak
men, wanting to stand on her own.
Her curse activates when she comes of age, the Thorn Magic
going out of control.
Yami sees her in this state,
explaining why she’s so nervous around him, since she always put up a front of
being reliable and calm.
The curse is dispelled as Yami
confides in her that she can rely on others even if she is a strong person,
since the Magic Knights are the strongest.
But Charlotte still resents Yami,
having stolen her heart and yet being such a brute.
Back in the present, Yami stops
Charlotte, seeing that she’s not good at holding her alcohol, the Blue Rose
captain falling unconscious.
We hear that the ceremony will be
starting soon, including 2 new captains for the Crimson Lions and the Purple Orcas,
the chapter ending as the others realize they need to head out too.
Boku no Hero Academia 132
Shigaraki complains to Overhaul
about how maze like the hideout is, but they retort that this is how the Eight
Precepts of Death has stayed hidden for as long as they have
It turns out Shigaraki is willing to
ally with them, provided the conditions are right. The League of Villains isn’t
willing to serve Overhaul, but they do share similar goals, so there is the
possibility of them doing a joint venture of sorts
As Shigaraki reaches into his
pocket, the assistant to Overhaul and the general manager, Chronostasis and
Mimic respectively, move to stop Shigaraki, thinking he’s overstepping his
bounds.
But Shigaraki retorts that they can’t
think that losing one of their men is the same as losing someone like Magnee.
Overhaul tells his men to stand
down, willing to at least hear his proposition.
Shigaraki reveals what he was
pulling out, a tiny dart object, that he thinks has to do with whatever
Overhaul’s planning
We shift over to Kirishima’s
internship under the BMI Hero Fatgum, also partnered up with Amajiki, who has
the Hero name Sun Eater
Amajiki thinks his Hero mentor is
harassing him, but Kirishima thinks he’s just encouraging his workstudy to be
better.
Kirishima notes how he’s had an
inability to act in the past, so he wants to improve himself and catch up to
his other classmates.
A fight breaks out nearby, Kirishima
and the others going to catch them.
Fatgum tries to stop them with his
Quirk, but one of the thugs slips past them, Amajiki stopping him with his
Quirk, manifesting as octopus tentacles. But he then smacks him with his hand,
changed to a clam, knocking him out.
His Quirk is explained to be
Reappearance, manifesting qualities of things he eats, which were takoyaki and
simmered clams, along with fried chicken, which gives him wings
As they wrap things up, a Villain
the crowd fires the same dart/bullet, which hits Amajiki, who, like Mr. Compress,
is unable to use his Quirk afterwards.
Shigaraki asks what Overhaul plans
to do with this, the yakuza leader saying he wants to destroy justice.
He notes how All For One controlled
people by taking their Quirks, so he thinks he could improve on that tactic. He’s
already spread his influence throughout the underworld and preparations are
proceeding according to plan
The chapter ends as Kirishima dodges
the bullet with his Hardening Quirk and moves to pursue the villain who
disabled Amajiki’s Quirk
Seven Deadly Sins Side Story-Gowther Gaiden
We’re told about how Gowther doesn’t
remember who he is or his connection to the Ten Commandments because of his own
Commandment’s power of Selflessness.
Gowther awakens in a dark cavern,
but doesn’t fully remember who he is.
A girl named Nadja encounters him,
the two initially scared. But Gowther opens up to her, thinking that he might
have been here for a while.
Nadja thinks that’s not possible,
since he’s in the cellar of Liones Castle, which Gowther is unfamiliar with.
Realizing the time, Nadja leaves
Gowther, saying she’ll be back later, to his glee, making a happy face that she
laughs at.
We find that Nadja is the sister of
Bartra, future king of Liones and Nadja had been following his Vision power of
prophecy, discovering the cave and Gowther.
Gowther, in exploring the cave,
discovers what appears to be part of the Sacred Tree in the Fairy King’s
Forest, remembering how he was given a gift by someone before he seemingly
perished, Gowther’s old body withered and dried out after 3000 years have
passed.
Nadja returns, Gowther unexpectedly
crying for some reason he’s not aware of. She shows him a book, one of her
treasures, since with her frail body, she hasn’t been able to leave the castle.
Gowther quickly reads through the
book in a matter of seconds, astonishing Nadja. He explains that it was interesting, though he
finds it odd that the protagonist, Meldor, had hair past her knees, which he
thinks would get in the way of her armor.
His transformation to show this
inconsistency shocks her, Gowther explaining that he was a doll created by a
powerful wizard, given a magic heart that he shows to Nadja, a way for him to
become his own self.
Nadja, overwhelmed by this
revelation, faints, Gowther bringing her back to her room. He had to transform
his clothes to that of a maid, Nadja confused at why he’s crossdressing.
But Gowther’s happy that Nadja
doesn’t hate him, the two of them bonding over time, Gowther growing fond of
his new friend and Nadja much happier than Bartra has ever seen her before.
She gives Gowther clothes from her
father, being taken on a horse ride by him, who says that he imitates Meldor
from her book since he thinks she likes him like that, but Nadja responds that
she’d like him regardless.
Gowther speaks to Bartra, who tells
Gowther of another vision he saw of Nadja smiling, hoping that Gowther will
stay with his sister forever.
Later, Nadja and Gowther speak of
how the doll has become so human it’s like no one would think he was a doll.
But Gowther brings up how he’ll never die, just a creation of someone else.
Nadja insists that they’re no
different, they both have hearts, but Gowther realizes that her heart has been
getting weaker, not wanting her to go away.
He explains his master was Gowther
the Demon, the one who made him, but before he died, he said he wanted his
creation to fulfill a dream he had, but didn’t tell him.
Nadja thinks he may have already
fulfilled his dream, interacting with the world he couldn’t in his prison.
But as Nadja slowly passes away, she
is happy, Gowther fulfilling her dream of being by her side in her final
moments.
Gowther cannot believe his friend is
dead, wanting her to keep living.
The guards hear a commotion,
entering her room to find that Gowther has cut open her corpse and put his
magic heart inside, but unable to bring her back.
He is accused of raping and
murdering her, sentenced to death by immolation. Bartra doesn’t entirely blame
him, Denzel, his brother enraged at his sister’s apparent murder.
The chapter concludes as Gowther
abandons his magic heart, saying he would prefer to just be a doll.
One Piece 861
Vito is still in shock at the number
of powerful people in Big Mom’s crew and family at the tea party, making their
plan to assassinate her all the more dangerous if they fail.
At the party, someone asks Mama
about the portrait of Mother Caramel that’s placed at the spot in front of her,
infuriating the Yonkou that he’d presume to pry into her memories.
The other guests distract her from
that by offering various wedding gifts and offerings of good will.
Mom is especially excited about
opening the Tamatebako, having such prestige in the view of everyone else along
with her.
Bege is told by some of his
underlings that they’ve made access in and out of the party more difficult,
sealing off the doors and isolating the room with a Den Den Mushi to block
radio as well.
He calls for Caesar, who brings out
his mirror, their escape route when the plan reaches the end of taking out Big
Mom, readying it to be brought into the banquet hall
One of the Homies, a door nearby,
seems to be suspicious, another of Bege’s subordinates seemingly killing it.
Bege checks on the Straw Hats, most
of them sleeping, as he reminds them that they have a half hour until the
ceremony starts. Jinbe says he’ll keep watch and wake them before things start.
The Castle Man says he’ll enter, the
others hiding inside his body until the plan starts, the no turning back point
close at hand.
We shift over to Pudding and Sanji,
the Straw Hat still trying to maintain the illusion that he doesn’t know of his
future wife’s betrayal, Pudding keeping him on his toes with her acting.
The wedding begins as the chapter
ends with everyone cheering the eventual binding of the Germa 66 and the Big
Mom Pirates.
One Piece is on break next week
Fairy Tail 528
As Acnologia continues to pummel
Eileen’s corpse, Erza tells him to stop, the Chaos Dragon Slayer noticing how
she smells the same.
He also recognizes Wendy’s Dragon
Slayer power and moves to attack them.
But suddenly Jellal appears,
blocking the attack and countering with his Heavenly Body Magic, Pleiades.
Acnologia dodges the attacks at
first, but when Jellal uses Grand Chariot to try and finish him off, he reveals
he can eat any magic, his epithet being the Magic Dragon, the Last Dragon.
The others are despairing now, but
Wendy resolves herself to try and take down Acnologia.
However, before she can do it,
Christina, the Blue Pegasus’ airship, strikes him.
Ichiya tells Erza and the others to
come with him so they can draw him away from Magnolia.
They get on, Ichiya explaining that
they may have a way to defeat him, a mysterious person appearing on the ship as
the chapter ends.
