Black Clover 55

We get more explanation about the Eye of the Midnight Sun, a terrorist organization composed of about 50 mages who oppose the Clover Kingdom, committing various acts to instill chaos. Licht is its leader (though he speaks as if there is someone else he respects), as strong as his 3 followers, albeit they have the power to keep his great magical power in check.

The traitor is said to be the captain of the Purple Orca squad, Gueldre Poizot. The merchant turned mage denies the accusations, but the others are suspicious of him.

He retreats, using Transparency Magic, which makes him temporarily invisible and invincible, keeping the other Magic Knights away.

Poizot thinks to himself that he took all this time to build his power and wealth and he won’t let it be taken away so easily.

Suddenly Asta slashes at him, breaking the invincibility and invisibility, since he can perceive Poizot’s ki. He says a Magic Knight Captain shouldn’t act like this.

Poizot moves to counterattack, but then Rill uses Picture Magic to restrain him, the others ready to attack, but stopped, since Rill didn’t want the building to be destroyed by their more dangerous magic.

The Magic Knight Captains think Poizot’s pathetic as a Magic Captain, though Vangeance wonders if he’s being manipulated by someone else.

Asta is still in awe of the Magic Knight Captains’ powers, Rill offering him friendship, which the anti magic prodigy accepts.

The chapter ends as Julius starts to ask Gueldre Poizot more questions about what he was doing with the Eye of the Midnight Sun

Boku no Hero Academia 84

We start with Kirishima going out at night and stopped by someone.

Shifting back to the present, Ashido notes that they need to get the transmitter from Momo. Todoroki thinks that since they didn’t kill Bakugou, but capture him, they might be safe, though he might still be at risk.

Shouji thinks they shouldn’t be deciding whether to act based on their feelings, Aoyama and Tokoyami want to leave this to All Might.

Asui emphasizes that they need to be rational about this, especially since if they break the rules, they’d be no different than the Villains.

The doctor comes into to check up on Midoriya, the group leaving as Kirishima emphasizes time is of the essence, and that they need to act tonight. He says that he doesn’t think Deku can act with his injuries, but he understands how frustrated he is. Their meeting point is in front of the hospital.

Deku is told how severe his injuries are after his casts are cut open. The previous injuries are explained by the doctor to have been like firecrackers went off in his arms. This time, however, he pushed his body to its full potential and maintained it for a longer time than usual.

His ligaments suffered the worst, the damage so bad that if it happened a few more times, his arms couldn’t function anymore. With rehabilitation, it can return to some functionality, but it’ll probably be limited by comparison.

He hands Deku a letter from Kouta, who apologizes and wishes him well.

That night outside the hospital, Kirishima and Todoroki are approached by Deku and Momo, but Iida stops them before they leave, asking why they’d do such a thing.

Since Iida was stopped by them for acting on emotions and impulse, seeking revenge for his brother being attacked by Stain, he thinks they’re being hypocrites to act like this as well.

Deku says that they don’t want to break the rules, Iida punching him as he says he’s as worried as them about Bakugou, especially since he’s the class president.

Kirishima and Todoroki respond they’re not doing the same thing as Iida, focusing on a covert mission to get Bakugou back without fighting.

Deku emphasizes that he feels compelled to act, Iida responding to these feelings by volunteering to go with them.

We see All Might, Endeavor, Best Jeanist and Edge Shot, the top 4 Heroes, minus the #3, ready to assault the Villains’ hideout.

The chapter concludes as Shigaraki asks Bakugou to join them, the Explosion Hero flatly rejecting him.

Seven Deadly Sins 168

We shift back to before the tournament, Guila and another Holy Knight searching the area where Fraudrin attacked Denzel’s group

Gustaf, Jericho’s older brother, calls Nikka, the new recruit, and Guila to report that Denzel wants everyone to come back to discuss strategy.

Denzel thanks the knights for coming out to the frontier, Gustaf and Guila wondering what secrets lay hidden in the tower that was destroyed, since it supposedly researched anti Demon countermeasures. Denzel says the research is safe.

Meanwhile, Deldrey is recovering, Arden and the others frustrated that they were defeated by Dreyfus, or at least what looked like Dreyfus.

Dogget’s Boost magic was what allowed them to get out of the explosion unscathed, the damage so severe that they would’ve died otherwise.

They’re confident that Denzel can still win, since he has a trump card still waiting and Dreyfus/Fraudrin will be affected by Denzel’s Judgment attack.

We see Dreyfus still wrestling with the spirits of the dead, also unable to remove the wound from Denzel’s holy weapon.

Greylord tells him to abandon the body, but Fraudrin thinks he can still find a way. But he’s more confused that Zaratras hasn’t appeared even though all the spirits that haunt him are those that Dreyfus has killed, possibly hinting Zaratras is still alive

Meanwhile, Gustaf is still in disbelief that the Ten Commandments are so powerful, not able to imagine someone stronger than Hendricksen after he transformed.

After the Ten Commandments resurrected, Bartra sent out scouts to find them, but none of them returned. But Deathpierce says that his secret operative returned, a fairy only he can see called Visi.

Her reports tell that many northern towns have had every soul in them devoured, but even more shocking is that Camelot, to the south, has fallen to just Zeldris, now the Ten Commandments’ main stronghold.

The labyrinth in Vaizel is also noted, but Denzel explains that there is another Ten Commandment, telling Guila to return to Liones and inform them that Gowther is the 11th of the Ten Commandments.

Guila is divided, but we focus on Nikka, Denzel revealing that she was Veronica in disguise, trying to help the kingdom in her own way.

Shifting back to the present, we see Jericho and Gowther bickering slightly, since the Sin of Lust is not unwilling to fight their opponents, since he seeks to gain a heart and feel some remorse for the deaths he’s caused.

And the chapter ends as Escanor and Hawk’s battle against Jericho and Gowther, the Sin of Pride scared at what Gowther is saying.

World Trigger 137

We see Tamakoma 2 reviewing Katori and Kakizaki squad’s strategies.

Katori is an ace focused team, the other 2 using Chameleons to support them. Kakizaki is more All Rounder in its approach, none of them a particular ace, the strategy more about attacking in close and mid range.

Since neither of their opponents have Snipers, Chika is key to their strategy.

Kakizaki Squad reveals they’ve chosen an industrial area, taking cover in the buildings and then attacking, keeping on the offensive.

They note that Katori and Yuma are the aces of their respective squads, not to be trifled with. Kakizaki also observes how Yuma’s a nice guy, though he’s confused as to why they want to go on the away team.

They won’t go easy on them because of that, their focus in the initial start of the match to regroup.

Katori squad is leery of Tamakoma 2, especially Yuma, Katori very callous in regards to the rumor that one of the new squad’s members might have family or friends in the Neighborhood.

The leader is chastised by one of her teammates, thinking she’s not taking this seriously, since she doesn’t seem to care about keeping a higher rank, but just go with the flow. She keeps changing her tone whenever she has a setback, changing from Attacker to Gunner to All Rounder.

But Katori retorts that her teammate is inferior and can’t understand her perspective, since she sees herself as elite. Rokuro admits she’s good, but she’s so talented, she gets an attitude that she doesn’t need to keep pushing herself.

The team is corralled by their Operator, the match starting as everyone is transmitted to the field.

The chapter ends as Yuma is targeted by Katori, who notes that as long as they win, she can do whatever she wants.

Magi 299

Alibaba happily meets the group, surprised at Sphintus, since he doesn’t remember him, though the Heliohapt mage is especially subservient to royalty

They take Alibaba to the coliseum, revealing that they abolished slavery, but they aren’t part of the International Alliance, since they wanted change to happen from their own people, not the laws that Sinbad put in place.

There are strong oppositions to Titus’ abolition of slavery, but Mu promises to protect the Magi, the Fanalis Corps likely some of his strongest supporters, since I imagine they were slaves.

The Reim Empire seems stable, but there’s a revolt brewing, especially with the knowledge of 3 Metal Vessel users who left with their Metal Vessels: Ren Hakuryuu, Yamato Takeruhiko and Nerva Julius Caluades, the last person being the only other Metal Vessel user in Reim besides Mu and Ignatius.

Nerva in particular had issues and was the source of the revolt because he desires to return Reim to its history of royalty being in power, whereas the emperor now is more a representative than having actual power, which rests in the senate, making Reim more a republic than an empire.

The rules of the International Alliance still applied to Reim in some sense, royalty and hereditary systems of power being neutralized. Nerva instead wanted to use the military power to take back his authority.

Mu and Ignatius still kept their Metal Vessels, meaning the International Alliance didn’t confiscate all of them, just those in the alliance itself, it would seem.

Titus perceives that Alibaba wants to ask about Aladdin, confirming that he is in the world, but he’s beyond the reach of Yunan and himself somehow.

He tells Alibaba of rumors of a giant shadow that somehow is perceptible as the shade, but not seen, invisible to the naked eye.

The chapter ends as we see Judal, seeking out Alibaba, since he left Alibaba for a year after they took the 2 year journey from the other side of the world on the Origin Dragon. Though it could also be Aladdin, since the hairstyles are similar

Bleach 668

Kenpachi, seemingly damaged by Gerard at the end of last chapter, is confused at what happened.

The Miracle explains that his power is so broad that it brings form to the thoughts of the masses, ranging from their fear, which makes him grow larger, to their hope, which reflects in protecting Hoffnung from further damage

Kenpachi retorts that the Quincy is being too cocky in revealing his powers now, but Gerard says this was merely a warning, since his power is so great that, in his view, the Soul Reapers can’t even perceive it completely.

The two continue to fight, narrowly dodging each others’ attacks, Kenpachi knocked away by Gerard’s shield again.

Toushirou tries to offer support, but Kenpachi knocks him away, saying that he can’t help in this fight.

Byakuya agrees, observing that Kenpachi already took off his eyepatch, so he’s been fighting at full power since the battle started.

The two plan to find an opening and freeze Gerard, smashing him to pieces with Senbonzakura afterwards.

As Kenpachi and Gerard continue to fight, the Quincy impressed at the Soul Reaper’s toughness, he reveals he already knew about Byakuya and Toushirou’s plan, knocking them both away.

Kenpachi, having been knocked away again by the Miracle, sees Yachiru, who’s been oddly absent since his fight with Gremmy.

She touches his face, seemingly unlocking a new power. Speaking as if she were his Zanpakutou spirit, the chapter ends as Yachiru explains that now Kenpachi can use Bankai.

One Piece 821

Zou is being rocked by Zunishia’s thrashing from Jack’s assault. Luffy and Momonosuke can hear the giant elephant’s voice

We see Jack’s ships raining cannon fire on Zunishia’s legs, hoping to get it on its knees so they can attack the head directly.

Luffy and Momo can’t communicate back to Zunishia, but Momo suddenly sees through the elephant island’s eyes, sighting Jack’s ships. He explains the situation to the others, some of the Minks commanded to get into ships to confront the pirates.

Zunishia explains that it was cursed to roam the world and that it requires the command from someone to fight and defend itself.

Luffy tells Momo to do it, the young lord doing so as Zunishia rights itself, having taken grave damage to one of its legs.

With one swing of its trunk, Jack’s fleet is destroyed and scattered.

Everyone starts to head out, Luffy demanding food, while the others need to find out how Jack navigated to Zou, otherwise they’ll just come back.

The chapter ends as we see someone contacting Kaidou, seemingly Scratchman Apoo, meaning he is now working with the Yonkou in an alliance, most likely. This is a bit odd, considering we saw him, Eustass Kidd and Basil Hawkins trying to attack Kaidou, but it seems that it failed

Toriko 365

Jirou’s fight with the Nitro seems especially one sided, any attacks, even to his head, seemingly little more than a minor nuisance to the Gourmet Hunter.

One of the Nitro even strikes him with a blow that breaks through the earth’s mantle, Jirou using Damage Knocking to resist it and make himself even stronger.

The Nitro think he must be a Gourmet Cell Demon, but one of them confirms he has reproductive organs, so he’s human, but his concentration of cells is especially high.

Since it’s so much, they wonder if he’s been eating pure Gourmet Cells since youth, Jirou confirming it by saying he was raised by Wolf King Guinness, who fed him Red Nitro when he was but an infant, explaining why he has so much latent potential.

His Guinness Punch’s destructive power is shown again, but Jirou explains that he doesn’t have to worry about it hitting Human World, since Setsuno has put a Pressure Barrier around it that deflects the attacks away.

Jirou, having slowly been removing the seals Acacia put on him, releases the last few, saying that now he can use 100% of his power.

The chapter ends as the Blue Nitro think they need to use their trump card, a can opener.

Fairy Tail 479

Winter tells Zeref they should continue their attack on Fairy Tail, since Natsu’s attack was unexpectedly dangerous.

In spite of losing almost half the Spriggan 12, Winter says that they cannot lose with Zeref’s immortality.

Back with Natsu and Lucy versus Jacob, he knocks them away, showing his skill in hand to hand combat and overwhelming them with its synergy alongside the Invisibility magic.

He threatens to kill all the guildmates, but Lucy reminds him that Brandish and Marin are within the group, Jacob releasing them.

Suddenly, we see another Marin, Lucy revealing Gemini, who imitates the Spatial Mage’s abilities, negating Jacob’s magic along with the Celestial Spirit, bringing everyone back to this dimension.

Makarov smashes Jacob out of the guild with a giant fist, throwing Natsu with the other, since he knows that the Dragon Slayer’s power now would destroy the guild otherwise.

Natsu initiates Blaze Dragon King Mode, smashing the Assassin Mage with his Demolition Fist as the chapter ends on his victory.
