Boku no Hero Academia 78
Aizawa remembers that he forgot to
tell Deku to return once he was finished. Kouta wonders if Midoriya will be
okay. Kouta asks why Deku put himself in danger when he was being so rude to
him in the past.
Eraserhead comforts Kouta, saying
that Deku won’t die and that when this is all over, he should thank Deku for
protecting him.
Meanwhile, Mandalay, after
communicating Aizawa’s message, tells Deku to retreat. But he reminds them that
the Villains are also after Bakugou, asking her to convey that as well.
As Deku’s running off, Magne tries
to attack, but Spinner tells him to stop. Magne says that Deku’s high on their
hit list, but Spinner argues that Stain saved him, so he’s worthy of being a
Hero.
Mandalay knocks him out with a kick
to the head, using her Telepathy to tell everyone that the Villains are
targeting Bakugou and that he should keep out of the fights as much as
possible.
Bakugou is frustrated at this as he
and Todoroki are still in battle with the gimp Villain.
He tries to attack, but is almost hit
by one of the Villain’s arcing attacks that can change course. Todoroki manages
to push him back with a wave of ice.
We see the Villain’s name, Moonfish,
also revealing that his Quirk apparently makes use of his teeth, growing out
into attacking spears that can branch out.
Meanwhile, Kendou and Tetsutetsu are
going through the gas, prepared to fight. Kendou deduces that the gas hasn’t
gotten to Mandalay’s group, since they didn’t mention it, which suggests that
it’s circling around a central point where its controller is. Their gas masks
will get weaker the closer they get, since there’s higher particle density.
The gas Quirk user realizes that
some people have figured out the nature of his power, pulling out a gun which
he shoots at Tetsutesu as he leaps in to attack.
Deku’s trying to find out where
Bakugou is, thinking he can’t be far away, since he was in the 2nd Test of
Courage group in the loop
He’s attacked by a mysterious claw,
Shouji protecting him. The Tentacle Hero explains that he managed to cover for
Tokoyami when they were attacked by Moonfish, but that his Dark Shadow Quirk is
going out of control because of how dark it is. We also see that it was his arm
that was cut off by Moonfish before that Bakugou and Todoroki stumbled across.
The chapter ends as the two come
upon Tokoyami, overwhelmed by Dark Shadow, which is a mass of darkness erupting
from his body, as he tells them to get away.
Seven Deadly Sins 161-162
Meliodas’ group arrives, everyone
surprised or happy to see them. But Elaine and King seem uneasy, Meliodas
noting that the 2 before them are Ten Commandments.
Before they can start things, the
assassin knights ask for some proof as to the claim that they’ll have wishes
granted. They ignore the question, Dolor told to make the stage where they’ll
be fighting.
The earth around them shifts around
with a massive thundering and Dolor creates the stage, along with 2 massive
hands nearly enclosing the area.
The mysterious tentacle Demon is
noted to have magical energy reminiscent of fairies by King as she says they
need to close off any other entrants and kill off those still in the maze.
She uses Spirit Lance Vasquez’ 9th
Form, Death Thorn, killing everyone outside the area, even those who dodge the
thorny vine’s piercing attack killed nearly instantly by its poison.
King suddenly realizes who this
person is, since she uses Death Thorn, which comes from the Holy Tree and the
Spirit Lance she uses the one given to the first Fairy King, her true identity
that of Gloxinia, King’s predecessor from 3000 years ago.
The chapter ends as she acknowledges
this, though her new title is Gloxinia of Repose (likely referring to the
commandment of a day of rest and honoring it)
We start off the next chapter with
King demanding to know why Gloxinia betrayed the fairies, said to have been
killed by the Demon King ages ago. She responds that she’ll answer if he wins
the tournament.
Meliodas is shocked to discover this
as well, but Gloxinia notes that they need to start things, letting Taizoo, a
competitor from the Byzel fighting festival, start things off with an
announcement.
Since there are so many competitors,
they need to whittle them down further by a series of tag team matches.
Gowther appears, surprising
everyone, since supposedly everyone in the labyrinth should’ve died. His name
is familiar to Dolor and Gloxinia, but we’re shown that Gowther landed on
Escanor.
Turns out Gowther broke Escanor’s
glasses, but before he can react, Gloxinia stabs the Lion’s Sin through the
chest. She quickly revives him with Vasquez’ 7th form, Moon Rose, showing the
extent of her power over life and death.
Dolor uses a special stone based
divining technique, separating the competitors into pairs for their matches.
We see that Meliodas and Ban are
paired off, as well as King/Diane, Hendricksen/Griamore, two of the assassin
knights, the third one with Albus, referred to as a Sacrilegious Monk (maybe a
Heretic?), Escanor/Hawk, Gowther/Jericho, Arthur/Nanashi (the samurai),
Matrona/Oslow, Howzer/Solatio (the bard from before), Slader/Hyphan (a
gladiator character), Gilthunder/Gilfrost (the mysterious ice mage we met) and
one left over.
Gloxinia summons 4 of her servants,
various Blue Demons from before, the last competitor a Holy Knight called
Silver.
The matches are starting in earnest,
but Ban notices there’s still 1 left over. The chapter ends as we see the last
pair is Elizabeth and Elaine as they’re fighting the Assassin Knight pair.
World Trigger 131
As Yoneya’s fighting Koskero, he’s
attacked by the goopy Trigger, which affects his grip on the spear. Miwa
comments on this as well, the two thinking he’s more defensive with his
tactics. But since they’ve fought someone similar in nature before, Hyrein with
his Alektor Black Trigger, they think they can manage something.
Koskero realizes that they’ve
started to figure out the nature of his Trigger, Noikokyra, and how, like
Alektor, it doesn’t work on attacks that aren’t Trion based. He retreats after
they tried to collapse part of the building on him with Kogetsu and slowly
weaken his Trigger with Lead Bullet.
Miwa asks Koskero if it was
Galopoula that attacked Earth 4 years ago and, thus, killed his sister, but the
Neighbor attacks them from behind from more of the gel tentacles.
Koskero says he isn’t obligated to
tell them, but he advises them to not talk so much during battle.
But Miwa retorts that this battle is
over, Koskero defeated by Jin’s long distance slash getting past his defense
with the element of surprise.
We see that Jin was easily a few
kilometers away, Koskero remembering that Fuujin was explained to them in the
report from Aftokrator, but that they didn’t realize it was a Black Trigger.
The group moves to take him back to HQ as we shift elsewhere.
Jin says the turning point of the
fights will be coming up soon and for Ren to communicate that to everyone else.
Reiji and Kyosuke are talking about
how Osamu’s group is still in the Rank Wars and aren’t entirely aware of how
the battle is going. But they need to get as many points as they can, the only
concern being that if the expedition ship is destroyed, those points won’t
really matter. Kyosuke thinks that if the top 4 Attackers in Border can’t
defeat them, then there’s no chance overall, but he’s confident they can manage
it.
Suwa tells the two that the battle’s
going to be over soon, the Tamakoma members activating their strongest attacks,
Reiji’s Full Arms manifesting as a mix of armor and mounted guns in a pattern
similar to Gatlin’s Trigger and Kyosuke activating Geist’s Firefight
Specialization, creating a massive gun.
Their combined attacks are wiping
out the Idras and Dogs, leaving Galopoula’s forces nearly no chance for
support.
The chapter ends as Reghindetz says
he’ll have to do something himself to change the flow of battle
Magi 294
We shift to an island southeast of
Kou, called Samon, Alibaba waiting for someone to arrive.
We flashback to him suggesting that
they use Ice Magic to transport the goods, thus preserving them. Kou Empire did
do research for military purposes, but they think it could be possible.
Alibaba wonders if Kouen could help
them, but he’s reminded that they were executed and no one is allowed near the
island where Kouha and Koumei were exiled except to bring necessities.
The Dungeon Capturer had snuck onto
the ship and meets Kouha as he leaves, mistaking him for a girl. He’s grown
much taller, Koumei maintaining a strong body on the island by working as well.
Alibaba meets Kouen, surprised that
he’s alive and curious about his leg and arm, Kouen briefly explaining the
situation.
He asks the three to come back with
him, since he thinks they’re the only ones who know anything about the magic
research Kou did, but Koumei notes that they’ve all been charged with treason and
murder of imperial family members, so their returning would cause more turmoil
and bring Kougyoku and Hakuryuu’s reigns into question as to their legitimacy.
But Alibaba retorts that they’ll be
brought back as prisoners, so they won’t be acknowledged as royalty. Kouen says
they should take Koumei, since he’s the best for this situation in the times of
peace, since he ruled in times of war by comparison to his younger brother.
Sinbad calls Alibaba, saying he
cannot bring the Kou siblings back. But Alibaba responds that he didn’t kill
them because otherwise he’d lose the influence he has by holding their Metal
Vessels ransom, since if they die, the Djinns are seemingly lost forever.
Alibaba persists in his plans,
reminding Sinbad that they’re part of the Kou Empire and Sinbad specifically
said that if he used assets related to it, then the International Alliance
wouldn’t intervene, in spite of him technically breaking some agreements Sinbad
establishes as part of Kou’s place in the International Alliance.
He notes that Kou’s true asset is
its people, as with any kingdom, since they appreciate and want to uphold their
country’s prosperity.
Sinbad still refuses, the chapter
ending as Alibaba says that Sinbad has changed and this whole situation isn’t
something he would’ve accepted.
Bleach 663
Askin demands to know what’s going
on with Yoruichi’s new form and she eventually answers, revealing it’s
Shunkou’s Raijuu Senkei: Lightning Beast Battle Form, with a qualification of
also being Shunryuu Kokubyou Senki: Flash God Black Cat Warrior Princess.
But it turns out that Urahara was
answering for her, since, as Askin deduces, Yoruichi can’t understand human
language now, so she can’t answer.
The Death Dealing is struck a deep
blow by Yoruichi and then sent flying with a follow up attack.
He’s astounded that her reiatsu
could change, Urahara explaining that it’s based on mood now. In her Black Cat
Shunkou form, the fickleness of a cat manifests in regards to her spirit
pressure, the Soul Reaper temporarily bored and occupied with something else
after her assault.
Urahara compares the nature of
Yoruichi’s reiatsu to the influenza virus changing every year. Since Askin
already develops immunity especially fast, the reason he can’t keep up with Yoruichi
is because her reiatsu changes 48 times per second, meaning even with his Death
Dealing allowing him to build up resistance within a minute of an attack, he
can’t possibly match this pace.
She blasts Askin away with a massive
lightning bolt, lured back to a more innocent attitude by Urahara waving a toy
at her. She relaxes, eventually reverting back to a weaker state because the
immunity injection he gave her is wearing off.
But before Urahara can go to check
if Askin is defeated, we see a massive Gift Ball, called the Deluxe form by the
Quincy, easily the size of an asteroid.
And the chapter ends as Askin
reveals his new form, Hassen: God’s Poison Taster, likely his Vollstandig,
commenting on how macabre the name is.
Toriko 359
We flashback to Don Slime
encouraging Ichiryuu to eat more, since he thinks the Gourmet Hunter has the
potential to be the king of the world, but Ichiryuu’s confused.
In the present, we see Don Slime
smashing NEO into the ground, disappointed that his power has waned so much,
since in the old days, he could’ve punched a planet apart.
Flashing back to his conversation
with Ichiryuu, Don Slime explains how he’s in Ichiryuu’s Gourmet Cells and that
he used to be the king of the universe. Ichiryuu’s not very impressed, Don
Slime irritated at his reaction. As he leaves, Ichiryuu returns with a meal,
though he says it isn’t strictly something to eat, a very simple food that Don
Slime finds ridiculous and not worth eating.
Back in the present, Don Slime tells
NEO that Acacia might’ve been a powerful host, but Ichiryuu’s far stronger.
We resume the flashback, Don Slime
complimenting Acacia and Jirou’s appetites, but still insists that Ichiryuu has
the greatest potential, saying he must eat more to increase his power.
Ichiryuu responds that he’s focusing
on Jirou and Midora’s potential, preferring to eat simple food like the meal he
started on before, Don Slime saying he needs to eat something more substantial.
But before they continue on with
that, Ichiryuu asks Don Slime what his name is, not having figured out before.
The Appetite Demon says he doesn’t need one, having so much power that he never
cared.
Ichiryuu suggests Slime at first,
but then adds Don to satisfy the Appetite Demon’s ego. He also brings up that his own name, saying
that he was happy when Don Slime called him that, a person’s name a part of
their being, something that when others use it, can satisfy them as much as
food.
Don Slime reluctantly agrees as we
shift to the present, where he’s mocking NEO, Acacia never calling him by name,
nor would the Gourmet Cell Demon care. But Don Slime says that his relationship
with Ichiryuu made him feel satisfied to his core without having to eat exotic
foods.
In the past again, Don Slime and
Ichiryuu continue to advance in their friendship, though Don Slime still can’t
understand how his host doesn’t want to indulge his appetite, simply wanting to
help others and provide food to make others smile.
The one selfish desire that Ichiryuu
has, which Don Slime thinks is the basis of life, is to sit at a table with
others and be equals.
He’s impressed at his host’s
tenacity in spite of the brief lifespan that he has compared to a Gourmet Cell
Demon
Don Slime explains this conclusion
he reached to NEO: that any meal shared with someone else is delicious despite
how simple it may be. He began to understand the value of things that you
should appreciate because of how fleeting they are.
Acacia’s face manifests on NEO,
calling Don Slime and Ichiryuu weak for having such sentiments besides hunger,
holding back their great potential that he had to be a substitute for.
Don Slime is furious, noting that
Ichiryuu never once used his powers, even when he was nearly dying against
Midora. That dedication is something that Acacia could never understand, but
Don Slime’s words are ignored by Acacia, saying that’s what makes him weak, to
value such emotions, even forgetting his name.
The chapter ends as Don Slime says
he should remember the name given to him by his host, revealing Don Fork and
Knife, preparing to etch that name into his memory and hoping Asarudy’s body
can hold out.
Fairy Tail 473
Laxus,
still trying to recover from his body having a negative reaction to the anti
magic particles, is punched hard by Icht, slamming him away with enhanced force
from rockets in his mechanical body’s fist.
After
checking his “survival status”, Icht launches missiles at Laxus, then an antimatter
cannon, then a railgun.
The
railgun, being electrical, actually boosts Laxus’ performance, allowing the
Dragon slayer to counterattack, knocking Icht away. But again, he coughs up
blood, the anti magic particles’ negative effects even stronger.
Icht
thinks that this would be checkmate, since even if Laxus could use his
lightning attacks and speed, the alchemist is still immune to them.
As Icht
readies his cannon to fire what seems to be equivalent to an Etherion blast,
Laxus is readying a last ditch effort, writing some magical inscriptions on the
ground.
It
summons a barrier, Icht reminding Laxus that his Wahru proxy was able to negate
a barrier as well. He activates a Magic Barrier Particle Nullifier, Laxus
managing to recover thanks to that trick.
Icht
realizes this too late, that he was manipulated into using something that would
cure Laxus of his illness from the magic barrier particles by removing them
under the pretense of negating a barrier that Freed created.
Laxus
rushes to attack Icht, the Alchemist saying his lightning still won’t work. But
as the Dragon Slayer punches him, he releases red lightning, stunning Icht
We
flashback to Mavis and Laxus talking about how he resembles his great
grandfather Yuri, one of the founders of Fairy Tail. But the Lightning Dragon
Slayer thinks he couldn’t be anything like the man who valued and trusted in
his friends, since he created such strife years ago with the Fighting Festival.
Mavis
retorts that Laxus still chose to protect his friends in spite of that
uncertainty, so he’s very much like Yuri in that respect.
