Boku no Hero Academia 58
Deku and Gran Torino part ways as
their internship ends. Gran Torino’s a bit disappointed, but All Might’s
successor says that he’s grateful for the training that helped him fight
against Stain.
Gran Torino warns Deku that he
probably damaged his arm slightly in the attack, so he still has a ways to go
to become like All Might.
Before Deku leaves, he asks Gran
Torino why his name isn’t well known in spite of being strong enough to
discipline All Might. The Jet Hero says that it’s just because he wasn’t
interested in being a Hero, only getting certified to train All Might. But he
tells him that All Might will explain more when he tells him about his past.
As Deku leaves, Gran Torino sees how
Deku, in spite of being so different in appearance, is just like All Might in
general attitude towards being a Hero. Gran Torino even jokes with Deku, asking
who he is, Deku correcting himself by not using his actual name, but his Hero
name that we’ve gotten used to.
Everyone else is talking about how
their Hero Experience Internships went as we shift back to Yuuei Academy. Most
of them were fairly average, though Ochako apparently got a great deal of
training from Gunhead, much stronger in appearance, emitting a sort of aura.
Minoru was traumatized in some way by Mt. Lady, commenting that women hide
their true nature from men most of the time.
But the ones who get the most
attention are Iida, Deku and Todoroki, having survived an attack from Stain the
Hero Killer. Some of the students think he’s cool, Iida acknowledging that he
had conviction, but that he was still in the wrong with his course of action
against Heroes.
All Might arrives, saying that the
class will now do a rescue race, moving to a new location where he’ll be
waiting, the first person in each group of 5 to find him being the “winner”. It’s
a construction site with lots of obstacles in the way, proving a huge challenge
compared to other locales.
Deku’s group has himself, Iida,
Ashido, Ojiro and Sero, all people with great maneuverability. The rest of the class
is waiting, only one group going at a time, thinking that everyone in the group
has a chance of winning this.
It seems like Sero has an advantage,
climbing with his tape to a higher place to get over the construction
equipment. But suddenly Deku shows that he’s gotten better at using One For All,
utilizing what Bakugou sees as his moves, Deku again imitating him and taking those
techniques for his own in a way.
But Deku slips, still not used to
using the Quirk at 5% as perfectly as he should, falling to last place, Sero
placing 1st.
The chapter ends as All Might
congratulates them all, telling Deku to come to his place, where he’ll give the
background for himself and All For One.
Seven Deadly Sins 139
Ban has managed to revive the Fairy
King Tree as we flashback briefly to the aftermath of King’s fight against the
Albion. He also revives King with his blood, the fairies all praising Harlequin
for saving them and recognizing him as the Fairy King again.
Before Ban leaves, Gerharde thanks
him, but the Sin of Greed grabs her, saying that if she threatens Elaine again,
he’ll kill her.
As he departs, King asks Ban if he’s
really going to leave, Ban saying that he’s made his decision.
Ban is awoken by Jericho as he’s
sleeping in a bar. She’s worried about the men looking at them, the thief
saying that they’re targeting her, since she looks good to them, someone they
can steal from. They leave, returning to the inn, since they couldn’t get any
info from the bar patrons.
They reserve a room, Ban asking
about the rumor of someone being revived from the dead, but the innkeeper says
he doesn’t know anything about that.
The two start to go to bed, Ban
sleeping on the floor since he’s more used to it, Jericho reluctantly getting
in the bed that has bugs in it.
Jericho wonders why Ban knows so
much about this place, Ban responding that he used to live here. But before
Jericho can ask him to tell her more about his childhood, they hear a group of
people chasing someone and beating them.
Ban tells Jericho to stay out of it,
but once the people say that the person they’re threatening revived someone,
Ban stops them.
The person is picked up by Ban,
thrown over his shoulder and he throws them at the wall in the inn, knowing
that they were more skilled than they let on. It turns out the person is a
werefox, having great thieving skills and able to dodge the blows from their
assailants well enough that they were barely hurt.
Ban asks him if he really
resurrected someone, the werefox saying they have no such powers, humans just
superstitious of them. As he moves to leave, he collapses, saying that he’s
getting old and likely dying. His clan was intelligent, but few in number, so
they were slowly dwindling due to humans pushing them out of their territories.
The werefox says that Ban couldn’t
possibly know what it’s like to have to live by stealing, but Ban flashes back
to his own childhood, stealing from a vendor and being caught, thrown into
Aberdeen Prison.
He meets someone called Zhivago, who
gives him some food, telling the child that he’s busting out soon, the chapter
ending as we see him, likely the person who inspired Ban to seek out the
Fountain of Youth later in life.
World Trigger 114
Ninomiya is told by his Operator
that Ema’s leg was wounded, but he’s still in the fight. He asks for Ema’s
location, telling Aki to support Tsuji after she’s communicated that
information, since he’ll be focusing on Ema while Tsuji takes on Yuma and the
others.
Yuma’s fight against Azuma’s two
Attackers, Kageura and Tsuji is tough, already losing a leg in the melee to a
shot from Azuma, still providing cover fire as a Sniper.
Kako and Kazama both observe that
Azuma Squad has a solid control of the environment and are putting Kuga and
Kageura at a disadvantage. The best solution would be to disrupt Azuma squad’s
rhythm somehow in spite of their lower numbers.
Ema’s trying to get away from
Ninomiya, but he blows into the building, Ema telling Kitazoe he can’t hold him
off for long.
Yuma is managing to keep Azuma’s
Attackers at bay, a Scorpion from his head blocking Koarai’s attack from
behind. Tsuji slices off Yuma’s arm in the melee, but Koarai is targeted by
Kageura, narrowly dodging, since he has Grasshopper, Kageura less mobile than
they are.
Ema Bails Out, defeated by Ninomiya,
meaning his squad is now tied with Azuma and Kageura.
Kitazoe fires a volley of Asteroids
at Azuma, who snipes them in midair with his astounding skills.
But as Azuma fires to take out
Kitazoe, Ninomiya Shields him, saying that he wants the point. Kitazoe fires
more Asteroids, explosions disrupting the fight between the Attackers
elsewhere.
Koarai is taken out by Kageura,
while Okudera is defeated by Yuma, who takes advantage of his arm being
detached to distract Tsuji and Okudera and get the point.
Tsuji’s immediately taken out by
Azuma, the explosions providing a line of sight for him.
Now only Kageura, Azuma, Ninomiya,
Kitazoe and Yuma are left, the chapter ending as everyone’s still confused as
to who got points, Kageura and Yuma squaring off to fight all out.
Magi 279
Kouen emphasizes to Hakuryuu how powerful
Gyokuen seemed to him. She was the one who mediated about the Metal Vessels and
Dungeons for the Kou Empire to pursue, but she also appeared to not regard even
Kouen as a threat to her, let alone the combined might of all the Metal Vessel
users in the empire.
He even had the royal magicians
research her power to utilize the Black Rukh and convert it to magoi. This
enabled her to attack on Extreme Magic level multiple times, meaning any
average Metal Vessel user would be powerless against her magical capacity.
But most dangerous of all was the
knowledge she had from Alma Torran. She already was aware of the Magic
Isolation Barrier than Judar and Hakuryuu used against her, to say nothing of
the Djinns, the Dungeons and other such things, so she was easily the most
informed in this world, even moreso than Aladdin.
So Kouen sought after knowledge to
get closer to her level of skill so he could eventually gain his revenge as
well, since he saw Hakuryuu’s brothers as his own.
He’s especially skeptical about
Gyokuen’s death because she spoke of her existence being pure consciousness, so
her body dying might not have killed her. Hakuryuu noted that he detected the
scattering of her Rukh, so it’s likely she couldn’t have survived, unless she
could reconstitute herself.
Kouen tells Hakuryuu how surprised
he is that he beat Gyokuen, since he thought he’d be the one to do it. The
young emperor is irritated as Kouen admits he has lost to Hakuryuu in that
respect.
He further emphasizes that he wants
Hakuryuu to lead the empire with Kouha and Koumei at his side, while he takes
responsibility for starting this war that could’ve been avoided.
Before Kouen can make his final
request, Aladdin bursts in, telling Hakuryuu not to kill him, since he would be
truly alone, Aladdin still believing both Judar and Alibaba are dead.
As a way to make up for that, he
wants to be a Magi that sees that the world cannot be absolutely unified in the
way that was sought by Al Thamen, supporting Hakuryuu in his endeavors.
Aladdin tells Hakuryuu that he wants
to see how the emperor will live his life after gaining his revenge, since he
sought to determine his own fate after this point. Hakuryuu is divided about
this, snapping at Aladdin.
He is so angered by their desires
being forced on him, saying that as emperor, he decides who lives and who dies.
The chapter ends as we see that
Hakuryuu has determined that Koumei and Kouha will be exiled, but Kouen will be
executed.
Bleach 642
Correction from last week: it turns
out Pernida’s last attack he was making on Mayuri before Nemu resolved to help
him was actually him using the special ability of Demonic Recumbent Womb from
Mayuri’s Bankai to negate his nerve killing serum, another result of his
evolving ability with the nerves.
We begin the chapter with a flashback
of Nemu talking to Akon, the 3rd seat of 12th Division, wondering why Mayuri
isn’t calling her by the technical name she was given, Nemuri Nanagou.
Back in the present at the facility,
something activates, turning out to be the previous versions of Nemu, though
most of them were horribly incomplete, little more than bits of genetic
material. The 4th version was where they started to make a breakthrough, which
Mayuri applied to his Zanpakutou to give it the form it has now of a baby.
The 6th form reached the age of 2,
but the cell life suddenly stopped and it died quickly at that point. When Nemu
reached far beyond that age, Mayuri was overjoyed.
Nemu pushes Akon to answer, but he
says he really doesn’t know, suggesting she ask Mayuri, which she says likely
wouldn’t yield any real answers.
Akon’s only suggestion is that
Mayuri is embarrassed, which Nemu finds hard to believe. But he emphasizes that
Mayuri’s dream was to create life from nonlife, befitting a Soul Reaper who
normally only kills. At the same time, Mayuri thought it was admittedly bizarre,
so he gave the project a name ”Nemuri/Sleeping” to reflect that you were awake
while dreaming.
Ultimately the dream of making a
Soul Reaper from nothing was Mayuri’s goal, not that of Soul Society as a
whole, by Akon’s speculation. Nemu progressing so fast just makes Mayuri all
the happier, yet he can’t bring himself to just refer to her as a thing
anymore, since she’s become a person of her own.
Nemu wonders if Mayuri will ever
call her Nanagou again, Akon saying that she’s too important to Mayuri for him
to do that.
In the present, Nemu manages to
heavily damage Pernidas and get Mayuri out of danger. He asks how she used such
power, Nemu explaining that she has pushed her body to near its limits, Mayuri
retorting that he didn’t order such a thing. But she responds that it’s merely
her following the purpose she was given, to protect Mayuri.
Mayuri argues her purpose is to
progress, Nemu responding that in protecting him she can show how much she has
evolved. She throws him away as she moves to fight Pernidas, the Soul Reaper
thinking how embarrassing it is that he has to be protected by his creation.
The chapter ends as Nemu shaves off
6% of her very soul and channels it into an attack at Pernidas, said to be able
to obliterate whatever it hits.
Toriko 338
As Jirou remains curious about the
monster before him, Chichi actually realizes what it is. The top of Jirou is
seemingly bitten off, but he actually dodged. Attempting to use Knocking on it
doesn’t work, so Jirou starts to get serious. His musculature is enhanced
immensely and he starts to use an attack called Big Bang as we shift scenes.
Midora only froze for a fraction of
a second, but it was enough for Joa to attack him in that opening. She explains
that there is a beast that is only vulnerable every million years for a split
second.
It seems as if Midora was the one in
danger, but he managed to dodge the attack and counter to strike Joa 8 times,
who protected herself with the Life Orbs. The ingredients from before have Food
Spirits in them that take the damage, which Joa is impressed that Midora took
out 8 of them at once in that instant.
She thinks to herself that it’d be
dangerous if Midora went wild here.
Midora asks her if she’s Frohze’s
reincarnation, brought back to life in place of Frohze. Joa explains that he
(his gender appears to be male, though it’s unclear) is CENTER itself, Frohze’s
soul refusing to come back because she feared Acacia’s true goal.
The Gourmet God sought only to eat
everything, to find new tastes. With the memories of the Gourmet Cells, Acacia
seeks out The Farthest Land, seemingly in space, where they are drawn by the
innate pull in their very essence to find that food and consume it.
It turns out that the big bang
itself that created the universe also generated Gourmet Energy, which
eventually developed into Gourmet Cells. The promise of food from ancient times
is what motivates Acacia, to discover the absolute truth of his desire to eat.
The Gourmet Demon inside Joa speaks
about how there is nothing else important in this world besides eating, humans
complicating everything with their emotions and regarding Frohze as foolish for
holding Acacia back.
Midora responds with anger to this
provocation, saying that even if he’s not really angry, they’ve at least
brought out a reason for him to fight at full power.
The chapter ends as Midora unleashes
Meteor Spice, possibly destroying all of NEO headquarters with the blast.
Fairy Tail 451
Zeref arrives at Fairy Tail, Precht
shocked to see Mavis after over a year of her being missing. He explains that
he took over the job after she disappeared, Zeref throwing her corpse to the
ground, saying he just came to return it.
Precht is stunned, not sure if Mavis
is dead or sleeping, but Zeref confirms she’s gone from that body. He explains
who he is, Precht realizing that he’s the Black Mage Zeref.
Zeref leaves, thinking that he never
should have fallen in love, just wanting to go back to his simulation as the
Spriggan Emperor.
Precht notes that Mavis is still
faintly alive in some way, putting her in the Lacryma we see her in at present,
trying every method to resurrect her, but all failing. He eventually deduced
that she was under the curse of Ancselam, keeping it secret that she was the
one who killed Rita. Precht announced to the guild that Mavis died, erecting an
empty grave on Tenrou Island to remember her.
In that same year, Precht officially
became the master in accordance with Mavis’ will, but Yuri died 3 years later,
all the while Precht still trying to resurrect Mavis.
30 years later, Precht’s
persistence, combined with the innate power of Ancselam’s curse, allowed for a
new magic to come about from Mavis’ body, Fairy Heart, the Eternal Magic.
Mavis explains that it’s essentially
an endless source of magical energy, something that Ivan, Makarov’s son, sought
after, as well as Alvareth once it was known to them.
The sheer power would allow for
infinite firings of Etherion, a continent destroying cannon. Mavis speculates
that Zeref may want it to stop Acnologia, one of the few threats to his plan.
Happy asks why they don’t just use
it to stop both Acnologia and Alvareth, Makarov saying he considered it when
faced with the threat of Face, but the power could become uncontrollable.
Mavis apologizes for how her own
decisions and the curse that came from her use of Law created such a danger to
the guild she held dear. But everyone else says that she had good intentions
and they brought all the people in Fairy Tail together today. The bad fortune
she suffered shouldn’t override the good that came out of the guild she made
that created such strong friendships.
Juvia thinks it’s sad that Mavis has
to fight someone she loves, but Mavis says their love is long gone, since he is
a threat to the world.
The chapter ends with everyone
wondering how they can stop Zeref, Natsu responding that he has a secret weapon
in his right arm that he’s been planning to use.
