One Piece is off for at least a week or
two. And Seven Deadly Sins is taking an unexpected break because the author got
sick. And we won’t have Boku no Hero this week either because the scanlator’s
changing the release schedule. But I’ll get virtually both the unofficial and
official releases on Monday, so it’ll be more objective.
Getting Boku no Hero Academia on Monday will just add more work, since I cover World Trigger on Monday as well as the unofficial Fairy Tail release. But it’ll make the lead up to Saturday easier so I can get it out earlier than 6PM, hopefully
Next week, we’ll probably have a fairly
full lineup, so bear with me this week.
Magi 254
Aladdin and Hakuryuu’s fight continues
with Hakuryuu still persisting and Alibaba trying to end it by destroying the
Metal Vessel instead of hurting Hakuryuu.
Hakuryuu says that kind of thinking is
what he cannot stand.
Alibaba says he’ll stop Hakuryuu and
bring him back from depravity, but Hakuryuu wants none of that. His previous
self in his new perspective was as if he was already dead.
He insists that people who have
differing views should fight until one stands at the top. Alibaba’s
unwillingness to die drives Hakuryuu to fight and kill him for that hypocrisy
of trying to change the world without sacrifice.
But Alibaba thinks that Hakuryuu’s way
of doing things will end up with unnecessary suffering, killing anyone who
doesn’t agree with him. Hakuryuu retorts that Alibaba’s way of thinking is too
idealistic and he’s been too dependent on the Magi’s path and declaration that
they are King Vessels instead of doing things on his own.
Aladdin and Judar’s fight is in Judar’s
favor with all the memories he has from the Black Rukh of Magnostadt,
particularly Mogamett.
Judar unleashes a rain of black rukh
spears on Aladdin, but the chapter ends as Aladdin reveals he can manipulate
the laws of magic itself, bending the attack away from him as his father did,
able to perceive what were called the Ley Lines back in the Alma Torran
flashback.
A development I didn’t expect: I wonder
if Aladdin learned it at some point or deduced it from the flashback to Alma
Torran. He could’ve naturally possessed the talent if it passed from Solomon’s
genes, which is a possibility that works as Aladdin is considered Solomon’s reflection
or reincarnate in a way.
World Trigger 91
As Suwa’s preparing to take the shot,
Usami tells Chika to make her shot, disrupting both Suwa and Sasamori as she
destroys the buildings under them. Sasamori’s Trion body runs out, but Arafune
also manages to make a shot on Chika, taking her out along with him as he runs
out of Trion.
Suwa moves to make a shot on Yuma, the
Neighbor dodging. Suwa avoids Yuma’s surprise attack after Tsutsumi figured out
the tactic and it seems like he may finish Yuma off with his Meteor.
But we see Osamu in the distance. As
Suwa manages to take out Yuma, Osamu uses his Asteroid to defeat Suwa, leaving
Tamakoma as the victor. Yuma managed to block the shots, surviving so Tamakoma
gets a total score of 6, while Suwa and Arafune only get 2 and 1 point
respectively.
Everyone compliments Tamakoma-2 Squad’s
tactics, breaking up the formations of each enemy squad and using Yuma well as
bait and attacker when the situation called for it.
One member from the all girl squad we
saw at the end of the Invasion comments that Yuma just seems really strong, but
one of Miwa squad’s members says that on an even playing field, even Yuma isn’t
invincible against Snipers in a team.
The use of terrain was key to their
victory, forcing the other two teams to scramble and try to establish a solid
advantage somehow, while Tamakoma-2 was always one step ahead. They likely
won’t have that advantage again if their points are higher than the others
they’re going against, but we’ll see.
The next battle is set up: Tamakoma 2
against Nasu and Suzunari 1. Suzunari 1 and Nasu have virtually the same
composition as Tamakoma 2, a Sniper, Gunner and Attacker, the Gunner the
Captain.
And Suzunari 1 has the #4 Rank Attacker, so this will really test them as a team, especially since Nasu gets to choose the landscape this time, as I predicted with Tamakoma 2 getting about 14 points in their last two matches combined.
The chapter ends on this setup, making
us wonder what will happen.
Bleach 614
Hiyori and
the other Visored not part of the Gotei 13 (which is the other 4 besides her)
appear, Hiyori and Shinji bickering as usual about how he’s bald because he has
a haircut sometimes called a kappa cut in Japan.
What the
Visored brought was the rest of the energy created at the distortion points
between Soul Society and the Dangai, Yoruichi possessing a small emergency
amount so they could launch the Tenchuuren from before.
Kisuke
directs the other Visored to get shihakusho from the lab nearby, since that’s
apparently needed to channel the energy (shihakusho are sort of a vague thing
in Bleach, sadly), Hiyori resisting at first, but Love tells her she shouldn’t
insult the Visored who already put their lives on the line.
With this and
the captain level reiatsu fused together, Kisuke plans to create a gateway to
the Royal Palace directly, since Ichigo broke the barrier that would’ve
otherwise prevented them from accomplishing this.
He warns them
that there may be no way back. Everyone responds that they were prepared for
this, Kenpachi emphasizing that as long as he gets a chance to go wild again,
he’s fine even if he dies doing this.
Back at the
Soul King’s chambers, Ichigo says they’ve come to stop Juhabach, the Quincy
King saying he has seen all with his eyes, explaining the events in detail to
show his Almighty power. He says they’re too late and the Soul King is dead.
Ichigo moves
to remove the sword, Juhabach saying he can do as he wishes. But as Ichigo
removes the blade, the Blut power seems to control his arm and he slashes the
Soul King’s crystal, seemingly killing him completely.
Juhabach says
that Ichigo’s Quincy blood must instinctively hate the Soul King and curse his
existence. The chapter ends as he calls
upon Ichigo to witness the destruction of Soul Society.
I wonder if
the Soul King’s death will only affect Soul Society or somehow start to affect
the balance of things overall. I also speculate that Ichigo or Juhabach may vie
for the position, but Juhabach may be killed, leaving Uryuu as his successor.
This is
called the climax of this Blood War, so I wonder what the falling action will
bring forth. And if this is just one climax out of others in a cycle the
narrative presents, there may yet be another battle, unless Uryuu’s being a
successor is somehow a red herring. Some have predicted the series could end
this year, though I feel like if it does, it will be in fall, not summer.
Toriko 311
It’s
explained that while Enbu’s basics are to ward off power with the will of all
your cells, if you combine all that power into an attack, it’s immensely
powerful.
Zebra notices
something off about Bambina, like he has something holding in all his power.
The enormity of Bambina’s true power frightens even Zebra, who tells Toriko and
Coco to hit Bambina with more power, since Bambina’s apparently taking the
attacks on purpose to unleash some other ability.
Toriko, Zebra
and Coco all use Enbu versions of their strongest attacks, hoping they can last
through this opportunity, since it takes much more stamina to use attack
versions of Enbu than defense.
We flashback
to Kaka explaining that they have to attack with Enbu secret techniques, even
if the damage they do is very little, since Bambina is truly a master of Enbu.
This will prepare PAIR by dampening it, but it’s the most difficult method,
even if it’s the only one they can utilize. The idea is to do this by using all
these attacks, even if they don’t actually hurt Bambina, the primary goal to
get PAIR.
Zebra, Sani
and Coco combine attacks and pin Bambina with grappling techniques.
Toriko moves
to take PAIR, but the scent of it stimulates his cells to try to find his lost
arm. He manages to calm down his Gourmet Cell demon and grab PAIR, but an
explosion results, knocking everyone back, a heart falling out of the ring.
The dust
settles to reveal Bambina’s true form, about twice as big and much more bizarre
and childish in appearance. There’s a scar indicating that the heart from
before was Bambina’s, meaning there’s some secret to PAIR that allows him to
survive without his heart.
Kaka thinks this turn of events is bad for them and thinks there’s no choice, deciding on something as the chapter ends on that uncertainty.
Fairy Tail 418
The chapter starts a year after the battle with Tartaros
with Lucy waking up, rushing to meet someone.
We shift to the Grand Magic Games, Jason of Weekly Sorcerer
Magazine covering it, with Lucy as his junior. Turns out she’s been hired by
Jason as a gravure model, but he’s also giving her opportunities to write
articles based on the events of the Grand Magic Games. Jason comments that none
of the big guilds have shown up, including Fairy Tail. Lucy’s guild crest is
still there and she thinks to herself she wants to meet them.
Lucy’s been searching for any information she can, trying to
bring everyone back together.
The next day of the Grand Magic Games is the finals between
two guilds: Dullahan Head and Skull Millione.
Jason is really excited, but Lucy thinks it’s a joke, having
observed that the leader of Dullahan Head, Chrisack is strong, but every member
of Skull Millione has been concealing their true power for betting purposes.
They trounce Dullahan Head, making a killing with their 1 out of 100 odds.
Lucy is disappointed, since this caliber is still
comparatively lower than Fairy Tail or Sabertooth, most likely.
Suddenly, a mysterious cloaked figure appears, Lucy noticing
the magic power is immense, telling Jason to get everyone out of here.
But the figure challenges the group, emitting a huge aura of
power and blasting them away with one attack. The heat from it starts melting
the arena and everyone’s clothes.
It’s Natsu, Lucy a bit stunned as Happy appears behind her
as well. Natsu unleashes even more of his power, everyone running away besides
Lucy and Happy.
The chapter ends as Lucy thinks to herself that Fairy Tail
isn’t gone yet.
