Didn’t even comment on the last few
Jump Starts, though the upcoming one warrants my attention more and I will give
a summary. Lycopene the Tomatoy Poodle’s a gag manga about a schoolgirl meeting
a bunch of cutesy but oddly inappropriate animals. Full Drive is a ping pong
sports manga with the main character, a 1/4 German taught by his grandfather, a
4-time world champion, entering the world of ping pong in Japan
Golem Hearts, by Gen Osuka, is a
fantasy type series featuring a world where golems are a common thing. Lamech
(Lemmeck is honestly an awful translation, given the obvious reference meant to
be the father of Noah) is an arcanist, someone who can enhance and repair
golems. His major creation is Noah, a humanoid looking golem who is seen as a
nuisance. After a bandit kidnaps two children and supplies from the town, Noah,
with Lamech’s help, defeats him, appreciated by the town as he resolves to help
his father figure to become a better arcanist.

Dr. Stone 34
Ruri inquires about Senkuu’s last
name, which confuses him, since their culture doesn’t use that practice. But
before she can ask his full surname, starting with Ichi, she collapses in
another coughing fit, taken away
Senkuu says he’ll ask her everything
once Kinrou wins, Magma happy at the prospect that Ruri may die anyway, not
even subtle at this point
Chrome is training, seemingly having
entered the tournament as well, intending to weaken Magma if possible by
hitting him in the groin area, which Kohaku agrees is a sound strategy
The group heads off to where the
matches will be announced, hoping to fix them, though it seems they’ve been
decided already. They had planned to set up Kohaku against Magma at best or at
least have Magma and Kinrou in different blocks. But instead, Kinrou is
immediately pitted against Magma in the first match, to their dismay
Senkuu then makes a concoction of
tea leaves, honey and sweet flag grass to keep their fighters’ spirits and
energy up, but Ginrou consumes most of the ingredients immediately.
Suika goes to get more of the sweet
flag grass, Mantle following behind her with an evil grin.
The first match is about to start,
but as Senkuu, Chrome and Kohaku go towards the arena, Mantle tells them that
Suika’s drowning after she was going to pick up sweet flag grass.
Senkuu and Chrome call him out on
the obvious lie, since it doesn’t make sense that he would know that she was
picking the herbs if he claims to have just seen her in the process of
drowning.
But Kohaku, even knowing this,
thinks she’s the best chance if there’s a small chance Suika may be in danger
of drowning
Jasper says that if Kohaku doesn’t
appear by her match, then she’ll be disqualified.
Magma taunts Kinrou, saying that he’ll
make him a direct subordinate if he surrenders now.
But Kinrou refuses, saying he’s not
the same person that he once was and that he’ll beat him, since he isn’t
fighting for such selfish reasons as Magma.
Kinrou slams his spear against
Magma’s as the chapter ends with their match finally beginning
We Can’t Study 37
Mizuki, Yuiga’s sister, is cooking
for Kobayashi and Omori, Kobayashi reminding Yuiga that her birthday is coming
up.
Yuiga plans to make something for
Mizuki as thanks, but doesn’t want the failure from last year.
He runs into Fumino, who tries to
play herself up as an expert cook. Yuiga then asks her to help him, which she
agrees to hastily.
In order to cover herself, she tells
Yuiga to wash his hands for 30 minutes and then take a shower for an hour,
still wracking her brain about what to do.
Fumino then texts Rizu, mistakenly
telling her she wants to make a boyfriend (kare) when she meant to say she
wants to make curry (karee). Rizu then communicates this to Uruka, who thinks
she must want a boyfriend like Yuiga to take care of her.
Uruka then talks to Asumi, who
doesn’t want to be bothered, but then begrudgingly helps after she’s praised by
Uruka as someone who’s more experienced in love.
Asumi calls Kirisu, the two of them
bickering over love experience, Asumi bragging that her father’s already
approved her boyfriend and Kirisu saying she has a guy who comes over and
cleans her house.
Kirisu calls Fumino, who panics, but
is relieved when her former tutor says she should try to appeal to Yuiga
through cooking and use a recipe online, sending her one.
The chapter ends as everything is
resolved with them making the curry and enjoying it.
Black Clover 132
As the final match starts, Noelle and
En are guarding the crystal, leaving offense to Yuno.
His attacks are being countered by
Lill at every turn, Yuno deciding to use a technique he’s been developing
through mana control and the mana skin technique.
Bell is a bit flustered at the idea,
since we see that he’s compressing her power into himself, his form changing
with the Spirit Dive ability.
Yuno thinks to himself that he’s
going to blow past Asta now with this new power
In response to this new ability Yuno
displays, Lill is inspired as well, summoning a monstrous harpy monster as the
two clash with their strongest attacks yet
Asta bemoans the fact that he’s not
in the finals fighting against Yuno, who’s smiling in enthusiasm, a rare sight
Lill is so excited, however, that as
he tries to overpower Yuno, his own magic power breaks the crystal behind him,
Yuno’s team the victor as the chapter ends
One Piece 884
Luffy explains how he thought it was
odd that his Armament Haki went right through Katakuri, but that he’s managed
to hit him now.
Katakuri replies that Luffy figured
out things, his Observation Haki skill allowing him to dodge the attacks by
shaping his body to avoid their paths.
The only reason Luffy managed to hit
him was because he lost his composure, which affects Observation Haki’s
efficacy.
But now Katakuri has regained his
focus, binding Luffy and then smashing him with Strength Mochi.
We shift over to Cacao Island, Pound
trying to get into the Sweets Factory to meet Chiffon, but is being rebuffed
Brulee explains to Pudding and the
others inside that the Straw Hats plan to meet Luffy at 1AM, but she’s
confident Katakuri will beat Luffy and that Big Mom will defeat the Straw Hats
when they arrive.
Oven arrives, agreeing to not
disturb Pudding, but threatening Pound as his former stepfather
Sanji tells Pudding that even if Brulee
thinks Luffy will lose to Katakuri that this will be Katakuri’s first loss to
his captain
The chapter ends as Mont D’or is
told that all the sea slugs are gone as we see Praline singing to charm them
away, making the situation utter chaos as to where any of the escaping crews
are at the moment
Seven Deadly Sins 241
Dolor and Gloxinia ignore Chandler’s
inquiry as to why they’re helping King combining their efforts to seal him in
an Ore Tree. He tries to break out, Diane and King meanwhile insisting they
will stay behind, telling Ban to take the others
Elizabeth recognizes Dolor and
Gloxinia, who tell her that they know she is that Elizabeth from the past,
saying this is their atonement for betraying her and Meliodas 3000 years ago
Gloxinia binds Diane and King with
vines, saying they can’t fight now. But he praises King for being able to use
the Spirit Spear to his level, saying that when his wings fully sprout, he’ll
be the strongest Fairy King in history
Dolor tells Diane that she will be
the new Giant King, or Queen in this case, needing her to bring the Giant Clan
out of their resistance to change and become something more than just a battle
obsessed race.
Gloxinia sends King and Diane away
as Chandler breaks out of the Ore Tree.
Chandler calls them out on their
betrayal, attacking them, the two dodging his slash that creates a massive
chasm in the ground.
But Gloxinia and Dolor say they’re
neither Commandments nor Kings now, just a Fairy and a Giant
They fight Chandler, but their
attacks seem to do almost nothing, the Demon ignoring a sting from a giant
hornet and slashing Dolor’s arms.
Elizabeth thinks about how Meliodas
inspired them with his courage 3000 years ago and hopes that Dolor and Gloxinia
will be rewarded for their sacrifice, the chapter ending as we see that the
pair has been utterly defeated by Chandler.
