Golem Hearts 4
Noah and Eir arrive in Kingsbury,
the capital of Chernozem (the country where things are set primarily), Eir
showing Noah her place. She gives him his first assignment, stacking 10 coins
on top of each other by the edges using a basic golem called “Baby”. Instead of
the usual month that it would take to practice such a task, she gives him a
week, saying that if he fails, she’ll send him home
But Noah isn’t fazed, saying that he
thinks she must have trust in his abilities to challenge him this way.
He makes his first attempt, the
golem weak looking as it doesn’t even try to stack the coin, instead putting it
in its mouth.
Eir comes back, Noah having made a
large group of the Baby golems, all similarly weak in appearance. But he’s
persisting in his studies, even ignoring his need for food and sleep that make
him unique as a golem, which can normally go without such things indefinitely
On the 3rd day, Noah has managed to
stack 2 coins.
The 5th day introduces us to a rival
of Eir’s, Sol and his disciple Erebus, Sol having achieved the third highest
rank among arcanists, Acrab, rated based on the magnitude of constellations
Erebus meets Noah, deciding to try
and stack coins as well, doing 50 on his first try, to Eir’s amazement. Even
Sol praises him, mentioning his grandfather Methuselah, the number 1 arcanist
in the world.
But Erebus tells him not to mention
his grandfather’s name again, wanting to advance on his own name.
On the 7th day, Eir is worried Noah
couldn’t possibly have achieved the task she set him with, but he tells her
he’s done
To her shock, Noah’s stacked 51
coins, surpassing Erebus in the process. Noah collapses, Eir thinking he
must’ve been enhancing the things an arcanist needs over the past week:
studying books in the library for knowledge, stimulating his imagination by
seeing Erebus’ golem and sheer adrenaline increasing his mana.
The chapter ends as she puts him to
bed, complimenting him as her student
Dr. Stone 37
Ginrou’s doing well, Argo still able
to defend himself. Senkuu comments that with Ginrou getting so excited, this is
working to their advantage.
But we see that Ginrou, even though
he thinks he’s doing well and impressing everyone, is fairly beaten up and
shocking the girls he thought were screaming in awe of his coolness.
Argo tries to fight more, but Ginrou
manages to push him off the edge, winning the match. But Ginrou rushes to relieve
himself, his stomach messed up from so much caffeine at once, unable to fight
for a while until he recovers
Senkuu tells Chrome that the
situation is such that Chrome has to be the one to defeat Magma now, since
Senkuu and Ginrou, in his weakened state, both have no chance
As long as Chrome can win this
match, Senkuu and Ginrou would throw the match for him and he’ll be the next
chief and Ruri’s husband.
Chrome seems inspired, striking at
Magma, but as Ginrou wakes up, we see that Magma turned the tables, Chrome on
the ground heavily injured
Magma continues to beat him up,
saying he won’t stop until Ruri begs him to finish the match
Chrome tries to protect Suika’s
helmet pieces, turning things around as he brandishes the helmet fragment on
his staff, Senkuu realizing he intends to use the clear day and magnify the
sun’s rays to set Magma’s clothes on fire
But since the glasses are a concave
lens that disperses light, it’d be pretty much impossible to generate heat like
that.
Magma taunts Chrome, saying he’ll
take out his eyes first, Chrome saying that he’ll use science to win as the
chapter ends with light seemingly focused through the lens.
This is probably misdirection, since
it’s also possible Chrome could be using the glass as a focus for his vision so
he can accurately attack Magma’s groin to weaken and beat him that way
We Can’t Study 40
Yuiga is with Kobayashi and Oomori
at the bookstore, getting some reference texts. Oomori wants to get an erotic
book, Yuiga hiding it stealthily in between the books he’s buying.
Asumi is there as well, noticing the
book, which embarrasses Yuiga, telling her it’s not his. Oomori thinks she’s a
grade-schooler, irritating Asumi.
Yuiga and Asumi leave together,
Asumi suggesting they take some time before her shift to study. A former
classmate of Asumi, Sakuraba, notices her and they talk about what they’re
doing during the summer. After Asumi reveals she’s a rounin, Sakuraba tries to
change the subject as she asks if Yuiga is Asumi’s boyfriend.
As Asumi’s dad passes by, Asumi
shifts her deflection to an admission that he is her boyfriend to maintain the
lie. Her father wonders if there’s something he can do to help them not be so
awkward.
Yuiga thinks it’s weird that Asumi
wasn’t that bothered by seeing Sakuraba be so happy and enjoying her college
life
They continue studying, Yuiga
immediately checking his answer after solving the problem, which Asumi says
might be a bit short sighted, thinking he should review his answer beforehand
so he can get the solution down pat.
She advises him about this because
when she took her entrance exams for college, she was overcome by her anxiety
and vastly underperformed, so she wants Yuiga to be able to do better
Asumi’s father calls her, asking if
she has any pictures of them together. When Asumi says she doesn’t, he becomes
suspicious, wondering if they’re actually dating.
They send various photos, though he
still isn’t buying it yet. Yuiga and Asumi wonder how to look like a couple,
deciding to send a photo with them making the shape of a heart with their
hands.
They send more, sharing a drink,
Asumi sitting on Yuiga’s lap and Yuiga using Asumi’s lap as a pillow, which
finally convinces her dad to acknowledge them.
It turns out Asumi was referencing
Sakuraba’s social media pictures with her boyfriend to make their poses.
Asumi confides in Yuiga that she was
feeling down before seeing her friend having so much fun, but that she’s
cheered up a bit from hanging out with him.
She would be lying if she didn’t say
she was jealous of her friend, so she thanks Yuiga for helping her by making
summer memories of her own.
Asumi then teases Yuiga by making to
kiss him, but stopping short and taking a pic, as insurance for her father
questioning them in the future for more pictures.
She references the content of the erotic
magazine Oomori was getting, since it involved being teased by a senpai, Yuiga
still saying that was a misunderstanding as the chapter ends
Black Clover 135
The group arrives in the Gravity
Stone Belt, learning that Nozelle’s squad discovered it after hearing about how
difficult it was to normally get there.
We see Siren Tium, one of the two
other Magic Knights specially chosen for the squad, use his Rock Magic to
create a model of the area, not unlike Mimosa’s special Plant Magic spell she
used in her first appearance.
The hideout is complex and
labyrinthine, like an ant’s nest. Mereoleona says they’ll split up into 5
groups, insisting that Zora and Asta come with her, since otherwise they’ll
bicker needlessly. Zora tries to throw his Rainbow Stink Bug he used on Asta,
but she just turns it back on him
After he reveals he’s a commoner,
Mereoleona says it doesn’t matter, because what’s important to her is whether
you’re strong or not
In the hideout, someone is moving to
torture a citizen of the Clover Kingdom, speaking about being given a true name
by Licht and being chosen. But Luck bursts in, stopping him before he can act
The strategy is for the other 4
groups to cause as much chaos as possible while Mereoleona, Zora and Asta move
to take down the leader at the center
We see that Nozelle is also inspired
to do so, both he and Mereoleona blasting through their opponents, wanting to
defeat the Eye of the Midnight Sun for Fuegoleon’s sake, either as a rival or
as a brother respectively.
The chapter ends as Raia (official
spelling, far as I can tell) moves to action, his third eye manifesting as he’s
ready to defend their hideout.
Boku no Hero Academia 161
As the Heroes and police are
collaborating to do cleanup, we learn that only 3 citizens were injured at all
and 4 houses were destroyed by Chisaki’s Quirk. Nejire compliments Deku’s work
as she explains that he kept the damage to a minimum as he was fighting Chisaki
Back at the hospital, Deku and the
others are recovering, nothing life threatening, the worst being Fatgum with
bone fractures, Kirishima wrapped up like a mummy from his injuries and Amajiki
having a wound that’ll heal up eventually. Rock Lock didn’t take any serious
damage from the knife, so he’ll recover as well.
Eri’s a bigger concern, still
unconscious and quarantined for everyone’s safety, since her Quirk is still
unstable. Aizawa compliments Deku for pushing himself like that. Her Quirk
being such a risk means they have to do this for hers and everyone’s sake now.
All Might has arrived, Bubble Girl
and Centipeder also present, since Nighteye is in the worst shape, his injuries
apparently quite bad, the doctors and Recovery Girl thinking he won’t last much
longer.
Nighteye speaks to All Might as he
stands beside him at the hospital bed, saying he tried his hardest to find a
way to change the future, thinking that Deku’s recent changing of fate might
have been due to a strong will and the energy resulting from that, everyone
else contributing as well in his outburst when he fought at 100% power. He
commends Deku for changing his mind as to determinism and that the future can’t
be changed.
But Nighteye regrets one thing,
Mirio rushing in with his own injuries. Nighteye apologizes for making his
student suffer so much. He’s proud of Mirio, telling him that he shouldn’t give
up on his dream to become a great Hero.
The chapter ends as he passes on,
the others mourning this great loss
One Piece 886
Pudding, Sanji and Chiffon are
heading out with the cake, Pound trying to stop Chiffon, Oven standing in their
path
But after they explain that they
need to take the cake out and meet Big Mom halfway, he lets them through,
though he stops Chiffon, saying that he can’t forgive her betrayal.
Chiffon says she’ll keep making the
cake, Oven planning to make an example of her in spite of being her family.
Pound rushes at him, trying to save
his daughter, Sanji rushing to attack him and make it look like Chiffon’s
father did the damage.
But Oven recovers, punching Pound
out, Chiffon still not recognizing him as Sanji gets her to safety.
However, Oven quickly finds her,
interrupted by a Den Den Mushi, telling him that Bege’s ship is heading towards
the island. Oven connects to a loudspeaker to talk to Bege, asking him to
surrender.
Chiffon tries to tell them to leave
her, wanting to sacrifice herself here to keep them safe, but Bege says he’ll
land at port and give up, just asking Oven to not hurt his wife anymore.
As Bege’s ship gets closer, Bege
attacks Oven, saying that he’s not going to give up that easily, showing his
son that this is how he deals with things.
On the Sunny, the group sees ships arriving,
Carrot asking Chopper if it’s a full moon tonight, possibly hinting at
something connected to the Minks
Meanwhile there are many reports of
Luffy showing up on islands across Totland, using Brulee to travel between the
towns through the Mirror World.
Luffy tells Brulee that he’s
intending to wear out Katakuri’s Observation Haki, but he also wants to beat
him at full power, the chapter ending as he reveals he intends to try and learn
that Observation Haki as well to beat him in the future
Seven Deadly Sins 244
We see Hendricksen and Dreyfus
fighting Demons, Margaret aiding them as best she can to protect a couple being
attacked. Hendricksen is healing her wounds, Dreyfus saying they shouldn’t be
travelling just for Margaret’s quest to find Gilthunder
The group continues on, stopping to
make camp after taking a split in the road to the right, even though Dreyfus
suggested they stop at a nearby village.
Hendricksen talks to Margaret,
saying he understands that she resents him for making her and Gilthunder suffer
for ten years, Margaret saying she hates that she feels so helpless and unable
to do anything, thanking Hendricksen and Dreyfus for helping her on this
journey
After hearing a voice, Margaret
wanders away. Hendricksen comments that Margaret must have felt sad at seeing
the lovers before, Dreyfus noting how Hendricksen has grown to understand women
a bit more.
The two seek her out, finding a
boulder with a split in it and entering to find a druid altar, though
Hendricksen says it’s an odd design
Margaret hears the voice from the
altar, saying it can give her the power to save Gilthunder.
Dreyfus and Hendricksen try to stop
her, thinking it might be Fraudrin’s kin, but it’s too late as she’s possessed,
though it’s not a demon’s energy, but something more akin to light
We discover that it’s Rueduciel, one
of the Four Archangels we saw in the flashback 3000 years ago, asking
Hendricksen and Dreyfus to join his new Stigma, promising they will destroy the
Demon Clan as the chapter ends
Seven Deadly Sins is on break next
week
