One Piece is on break this week,
tension of the battle made me forget
Dr. Stone 31
Chrome is a bit taken aback,
thinking Senkuu’s asking for bad things to happen when he talks like that
Senkuu reiterates that they need him
to stay behind, because if both of them die, science will be lost to humanity.
But Chrome refuses to do this, not
wanting to be involved in something that has Senkuu resigned to potentially
dying like this. He tells Senkuu that since he won’t take his knowledge, he has
to make sure he’ll come back alive
Kohaku remembers Ruri telling her
the most important role of the village priestess: the Hundred Stories, all
containing wisdom that is passed down from generation to generation.
Her father Kokuyou says that Kohaku
will succeed Ruri, but Kohaku refuses for similar reasons, not wanting to just
regard Ruri as a sacrifice and to forget her real importance because she might
die from her illness.
Kohaku then persisted in being
rebellious, wanting to give her sister a sense of belonging and purpose in
spite of her father’s plans to have Kohaku replace her. In this way, she will
be seen as unsuited to succeed her sister as a priestess.
In the present, Kohaku smiles at how
Chrome resembles her.
Chrome brings up that it doesn’t
make sense for Senkuu to go when it would be more logical to have someone else
sacrifice themselves for this, since science is so essential to advancing the
kingdom he has in mind.
Senkuu explains that he knows the
gas mask’s construction the best, but Chrome retorts that they need to work as
a team here to support each other in this endeavor
Chrome notes that they shouldn’t be
seen as lesser or greater, they should be equals, like how Taiju and Yuzuriha
were used as spies to help Senkuu’s efforts.
Senkuu agrees, saying that it would
give them a better chance of success, the two vowing to have each others’
backs.
Kohaku praises Chrome, saying he’s a
lot like her. But she also notes that Kinrou or Ginrou are the likely
candidates to marry Ruri after the great tournament, so she says Chrome could marry
her, though he still says she’s a gorilla, which gets him a few lumps on the
head.
Senkuu explains that they need a bit
more preparation, mixing calcium carbonate with ash lye to make a rough filter
for the gas, putting it on a sizeable glass bottle that they have on their
backs.
The two head out to start collecting
the sulfuric acid in their most dangerous mission yet as the chapter ends.
We Can’t Study 34
We see Kirisu leaving a group of
fellow teachers who continue their bar hopping. She spots Yuiga heading into
the maid café as usual and stops him.
But Kominami steps in, recognizing
Kirisu as Mafuyu sensei (her first name). She insists that Yuiga’s just here to
help her study, nothing shady going on in spite of Kirisu’s concern for his
recommendation being at risk.
As Kirisu and Asumi are trying to
pull Yuiga away or towards the café, Kirisu slips and injures a maid.
Since she needs a sub, Kirisu
volunteers, embarrassed to be in the outfit, but feeling obligated out of
feeling responsible. She even practices the greeting on Yuiga, who gets pretty
hot and bothered by his teacher saying such a thing to him.
But it turns out she’s not going to
be interacting with the customers, just cleaning and doing dishes. Yuiga’s
concerned, though Kirisu insists she can do this in spite of not being able to
keep her apartment clean
We see, however, that Kirisu is
fairly clumsy, an appeal to some of the bartenders with it being an archetypal
trait of some maids. Yuiga offers to help her after she made a mess trying to
clean, Kirisu insisting she do it on her own. But Yuiga says everyone should
offer help with situations like this, Kirisu remembering how hard he’s been
said to work in helping Rizu, Fumino and Uruka
With things wrapping up, everyone
thanks Kirisu, though she still is concerned about Asumi going for med school,
Asumi saying she still won’t give up.
She explains to Yuiga that in spite
of Kirisu’s opposition, it only reinforced her determination to be a doctor,
thinking she has to overcome this difficulty.
Even if Kirisu never says it, Asumi
thinks that she’s been encouraging her students with that harshness. In a way
she thinks this is just how Kirisu teaches people, even if it seems to be
counter-intuitive.
Kirisu says she’ll allow Yuiga to
stay at the maid café, but he must be home by 9PM. She takes a sip of a drink
given to her and collapses, shown to be a lightweight when it comes to alcohol.
Yuiga is taking her home and Kirisu,
in her drunken stupor, praises Yuiga for how he encourages and inspires people
around him, the chapter ending as her compliments start to become more mundane,
like how he can feed himself or even breathe.
Black Clover 129
Mimosa tells Asta that the crystal
won’t last much longer than his body at this rate, since her healing magic can’t
keep up.
Asta thinks to himself that he’s fit
enough now that he can use his anti magic form again but it’ll be the last time
for the day. He wanted to save it to fight against Yuno, but he decides he can’t
hesitate now
As Asta tells Zora he’s counting on
him, Zora appears in front of him, manifesting another magic circle.
Zora thinks to himself that he’s
ready to fight Langris, since he’s so disgusting in how cruel he is, but he
also thinks Asta reminds him of his father, remembering how he laughed like a child,
playing pranks on people, even making a doll for him, even though he didn’t
really want it.
His father was a Magic Knight and a
great pride being his son, since he was the first commoner to become a Magic
Knight, working hard to get to the position he’s at now. His father, the person
before who was inspired by the Magic Knights, is encouraged to continue his
duties, protecting the peace of the Clover Kingdom.
But one day his father died. Zora
was at his grave, berating his father, saying he couldn’t protect anyone now.
However, he sees Violet Orca Magic
Knights, overhearing them talk badly about his father Zara and how he was taken
down by his comrades from behind. They even say that a commoner associating
with nobles is shameless, Zora enraged at this betrayal and how they could call
themselves his allies at all.
From then on, Zora made a promise
that he would interfere with the Magic Knights, even fighting Xerx because he
saw him threaten to kill a dying old lady who was begging for him to help her
granddaughter.
In the present, Zora comments that
people like Langris who would step on the lives of fellow Magic Knights are
fakers, not true Magic Knights at all
Langris directs his attacks to hit
Zora, but it turns out his body has a magic circle written on it, Marx noting
that such a practice would be a huge risk with his own magic power potentially
activating it.
The chapter ends as Zora remembers
punishing a Magic Knight, saying that he’s nobody, the son of a commoner, but
in the present, he says he’s the incarnation of rage, reflecting Langris’ magic
back at him
Boku no Hero Academia 156
We flashback to the Cleanser that
was fighting Ryukyu’s group, taking prisoner as she explains that his Quirk was
to touch someone and inhale so he could take their vitality and get stronger.
As Hadou and the others leave, we
learn that Rikiya has taken the booster drug Trigger and can now just inhale
and suck away people’s energy
20 minutes pass and the group can’t
fight against him well, Ryukyu barely able to shield the police officers, along
with Uraraka and Tsuyu.
But we see that Hadou, with her
Quirk called Surge, can convert her energy into shockwaves that spiral.
Deku appears, seemingly after he was
helping Mirio, telling the Heroes that their objective is below the crossroads
nearby
So with Hadou, Uraraka and Tsuyu’s
help, Ryukyu’s group smashes Rikiya into the ground, blasting through the
floors to where Nighteye and Chisaki are.
We see that it was Toga who had
transformed into Deku and explained things, also using Twice’s ability to copy,
making holes to climb their way up out of the hideout.
They also have a copy of Compress
with them to help take Eri away so they can bring her to Shigaraki. Compress
jumps down as Deku tells Uravity to help Nighteye.
Chisaki starts to retreat with Eri
as Deku screams at him in frustration as he escapes. Deku leaps up to try and
stop him.
We see that Mirio’s cape got blown
up with them, Eri unconsciously grabbing it.
In a flashback we learn that Eri was
the granddaughter of the former boss’ daughter and she was seen as cursed,
having killed her father with a touch, his clothes left behind
Chisaki was tasked with taking care
of Eri and researching her Quirk, seen as a radical mutation from the lineage
It turns out her power is more like
rewinding, as if the thing never existed, which may also apply to the Quirk
factor in the case of the bullets.
Eri, having experienced such
suffering, had resigned herself to her fate. But Mirio inspired her and she
tried to escape now, the chapter ending as Deku reaches his hand out to help
her.
Magi 366
David greets Aladdin, saying he’s
too late, that the dungeon and Djinn systems are flowing backwards, serving as
a replacement for the Sacred Palace in returning everything back to the rukh
Aladdin inquires as to why David is
trying to return everything back to the rukh, David responding that it’s
because he’s a chosen existence. Aladdin then asks who chose him, David saying
he doesn’t know, but that he’s certain that because he’s a singularity, he must
guide the world according to destiny. The inquiry continues, David realizing
that he’s uncertain about his own nature as Sinbad said.
Aladdin continues by saying that
David is lonely, never really interacting with others. He continues by noting
that people deciding what they believe on their own rather than just due to
what others tell them they should believe is truly difficult, Sinbad trying to
avoid that with the rewriting of the Rukh.
He claims David was truly the most cowardly, depending on some grandiose
idea of destiny.
David laughs at this, saying they
are both chosen people, him a singularity and Aladdin a Magi. But Aladdin
retorts that he’s not defined purely by being a Magi.
David says he can’t stop the world
returning to the rukh, but his body twists, Sinbad appearing in the flow of the
rukh and asking Aladdin for his power before the Sacred Palace completely disappears.
Alibaba and the others are trying to
destroy the towers, but things seem to be progressing too fast. The magic
circle starts to glow, Sinbad’s voice echoing in everyone’s minds
Using Aladdin’s Solomon’s Wisdom,
he’s projecting his rukh to everyone. He explains that there are 25 towers
total, but there won’t be enough time to destroy them all. The alternative is
to combine the Metal Vessel’s power into one. Taking all 18 of them together,
they can make a Metal Vessel that can warp the dimensions and seal the towers
away, like Solomon did to Ill Ilah
The only way to unite all the Metal
Vessels is for the users to direct their rukh to one single user, Sinbad saying
it’s like how he acquired Zepar from Serendine (again referencing events that
have happened in Sinbad no Bouken at some point)
But the others realize that this
means 14 of the 15 Metal Vessel users will die. Sinbad says this must happen,
the King Vessel left to guide the world. And he says that Alibaba should be the
one, the chapter ending as Alibaba is shocked at this trust in his power.
Seven Deadly Sins 238
Chandler is impressed at King and Gowther’s attack,
thinking it might be dangerous, but he ultimately concludes it won’t work on
him, even telling Gowther that he should be aware of this
Gowther, knowing that Chandler can use Full Counter,
tells King that he’ll give a signal and then it will hit
King lets loose the arrow, Chandler Full Countering
it. But it appears to be an illusion made by Gowther, the pair attacking in the
opening left from his use of Full Counter to strike Chandler.
The blast knocks him back and unleashes a massive
explosion, seemingly doing some damage to the Demon.
A mass of lesser Demons appears, King thinking this
is no problem as he manifests Chastiefol’s 5th form to let loose another
attack.
Gowther, sensing only one presence in the group, is
too late to warn King as Chandler uses Full Counter again, knocking King and
Diane away with the returned blast.
Chandler reveals the arrow did strike and even broke
his defensive magical wall, so much so that he had to take some of the damage,
wiping blood off his mouth
Gowther moves to stop him, but Chandler uses
Absolute Order, putting a geas on him that makes it so he can’t refuse any order,
telling Gowther to stay out of his way.
Chandler debates on how to kill Elizabeth, finally
deciding on using Dragon’s Fang, a massive dragon claw attack
But Diane blocks it in spite of her small body,
using Heavy Metal to toughen her body.
King moves to defend her, but the attack misses both
of them, Ban intervening to save all of them. Chandler notes how all the races
are together now, thinking he has to stop Meliodas from their influence
Chandler readies another attack, but finds he’s
weakened, thinking that Gowther and King’s fusion attack before must have
weakened his spirit as well as his body with the damage.
