Bleach concludes this week (next
week, technically in official sources). It was a fun ride, though there’s still
ambivalence in regards to at least perceived rushing of sorts or Kubo himself
thinking the series was overstaying its welcome. The big announcement is a live
action adaptation, though it won’t be out until 2018, so if the anime is coming
back, it’ll be a surprise in the magazine so far.
Black Clover 73
As Yami stands in glory after his
defeat of Vett, the others swarm him, praising their captain for being so
amazing, though he swats them away.
Nero pecks at Asta, presenting the
magic stone they’d been looking for, having been looking for it the whole time.
The high priest arrives, thanking
the Black Bulls for their help, Yami saying they’ll take the magic stone, which
he says is fine, not minding, since he doesn’t seem to really know its
significance
Charmy arrives, ready to fight, but
disappointed as the enemy’s already defeated, everyone wrapping up as we shift
to the next day.
Everyone has to stay and recover, especially
Finral, since he’s their ticket out, not wanting to overtax Noelle’s powers
again.
Charmy hears cheering as we see the
denizens of the Water Temple’s surrounding area thanking everyone for saving
their homeland. Being thanked is an unusual occurrence for the misfits, but
they appreciate it nonetheless.
Meanwhile, we see Kiato getting
healed up, Kahono not as lucky, though she tells Noelle that she doesn’t need
to be sorry, since she hasn’t given up on her dream yet to be an idol.
Kiato tells his sister how he’s
fallen in love with Noelle, seeing her as an incarnation of the Sea Goddess,
Kahono thinking he’s hopeless.
We shift over to Yami paying his
last respects to Vett, Asta showing up as well to provide some flowers he
found. In spite of their differences, Asta still thinks that Vett was innately
a good person, just corrupted from having a terrible experience that caused him
to harbor such hatred towards people.
Yami tells Asta he shouldn’t think
that hard about such things, focusing on his own dreams, the chapter ending as
the people of the Water Temple are still cheering, to the annoyance of some of
the Black Bulls.
Boku no Hero Academia 102
We flashback to Deku explaining his
idea in more detail to Mei, who likes the concept and thinks she can apply it
in a way to Iida’s costume improvements as well
Flashing forward after the
explanation of Full Cowl being something that enhances Deku’s mobility, Mei
taking that to the conclusion of maximizing such things with enhancements to
the arms and soles for the best agility potential, All Might is impressed at
Deku’s progression
Kirishima and Kaminari are confused
at Deku using his legs, Deku saying that he’s changed his focus, so he’s not
sure if this is at the point of a special move yet, though All Might thinks
it’s a step in the right direction.
We see Kirishima and Kaminari’s
costume changes, along with some others, everyone moving towards improving
themselves and maximizing the potential of their Quirks in battle nad their
special moves as well.
Class B is ready to use the area
next, but Vlad got there a bit early. Monoma tries to mock Class A again,
saying that if both of them take the provisional exam, it’s possible all of
Class A could fail with the 50% success rate.
Vlad explains that the schools tend
to not keep all their classes in one testing location, spreading them out
across the three places that have the tests once every 6 months.
Aizawa also reminds them that
they’re also competing with various other schools, some of which have been
training for longer, since they’re only in their first year compared to others
who are older and have more experience by association
Afterwards, we see the girls of Class
A talking amongst themselves about their progress and how tough the training
has been.
Ochako talks about how she’s been
distracted, Ashido thinking she must be in love. The Gravity Hero floats away
instinctively, the others thinking they shouldn’t pry.
She sees Deku training, trying to
perfect the form for his special move.
The training concludes, everyone
arriving at the testing site.
They’re ready to enter, surprised by
a student from another school crying out the Plus Ultra motto of Yuuei. Turns
out he’s from another high ranked school to the west, Shiketsu.
Aizawa recognizes him as Yoarashi
Inasa, who actually got one of the highest scores in Yuuei’s entrance exam and
yet rejected the admission.
Deku realizes that this means
Inasa’s as talented, if not moreso, than even Todoroki, one of the highest
scoring as well in the entrance exam, the chapter ending on this interesting
piece of information and a new rivalry building up.
World Trigger 153
Osamu, in spite of having drawn some
enemies to him, has also made his position aware to everyone else.
The others are still looking for
him, Osamu thinking that he has a few options. First is stay and wait until
Yuma gets to his position, which will keep him safe, since they still don’t know
precisely where he is, just a general location. The other consideration is
going towards Yuma, but that’ll make him more vulnerable to an ambush for Ouji
squad.
But if he tries to get away from
others in a direction where no one is, he might get cornered and pushed off the
map.
The best option seems to be heading
towards Ikoma unit and use them as a distraction for Ouji unit to buy more time
to put up wires.
Ouji has discerned this, thinking
they should pick up the last member of their squad and then go after Osamu.
Meanwhile, the two members Osamu
drew into a fight are still engaged. The Ikoma unit member thinks he should
finish off the Ouji unit member, but he’s attacked by the Sniper, who utilizes
a new Sniper technique called Salamander, an explosion resulting from it.
Ouji unit makes the first point,
taking out one of Ikoma’s members with a follow up composite bullet strike
Ikoma thinks they shouldn’t have
lost a member so early.
Meanwhile, Ouji unit seems to have
paired up with Kashio from Ikoma and are pursuing Osamu.
The commentators note how Ouji
thinks very similarly to Osamu, so he may be able to discern his strategies
well.
However it seems that Osamu may have
thought ahead, Yuma drawing their attention so Chika can effectively snipe one
of them with Lead Bullet on their leg.
With one member having lost an arm
to Yuma’s initial attack and the other losing a leg to get rid of the Lead
Bullet, their mobility and attack capabilities are both affected
Yuma cuts Ouji squad off, trying to hold
them from getting to search for Osamu.
But the chapter ends as Ikoma
himself appears, using Senkuu Kogetsu to slash at them and slightly wounding
Yuma, who narrowly blocked it, surprised by the range it has.
Seven Deadly Sins 187
The Holy Knights in the area feel an
evil presence from Denzel’s body, the leader of the Six Pleiades explaining
that the Goddess was Divine Lance Corporal Nerobasta.
Seeing Derriere, revealed as the
Commandment of Purity, Nerobasta is confused at how they, along with other
lower class Demons, are still around after the ancient war. Deathpierce
explains that they were unsealed, the Goddess refusing their request to provide
aid to the humans.
Nerobasta blasts through some other
demons with a power called Ark, disintegrating them with light particles.
Derriere attacks from behind,
Nerobasta using the power on her as well, paralyzing the Demon.
But Derriere manages to blast her
way out with more darkness energy, the two clashing. Nerobasta’s sword is
ineffective against Derriere, breaking it with the demonic power surrounding
her.
Nerobasta says they should try to be
diplomatic about this, explaining how the Goddesses may have been less than
virtuous in the past.
Suddenly, Derriere slashes Denzel in
half, the battle over in an instant as she floats down to Monspiet, who tells
her that she was lucky it was only a Lance Corporal rather than one of the 4
Great Angels.
With this, the castle is seen as
conquered, Bartra being told of the situation outside.
The chapter ends as Fraudrin
appears, saying that the others will join Denzel soon, moving to kill them and
finish this battle.
Magi 316-317
We see Sinbad talking to David in
his mind about how prosperous the world has been, especially with other companies
besides the Sindria Trading Company creating new magic tools. David is
surprised at Sinbad interacting with him, usually ignoring his voice. He asks
if Sinbad is afraid, the conqueror saying he is.
The state of the world is such that
if his power is undermined, then things will fall apart. David explains that
this was why he created the magic items that suppressed the free will of the
other species in Alma Torran, suggesting that he and Sinbad are the same,
regardless of how he feels otherwise.
David tells Sinbad that they are the
same in one important manner: they both have a broader perspective on things
and yet they also realize they have limitations. The only solution available to
them is to become a god through the power of the Sacred Palace.
Sinbad says he’ll monitor things a
bit longer, thinking that people will eventually realize how right he is. But
David says that using the Sacred Palace is the only option that will save
people from destruction. And even if he can’t get Solomon’s Wisdom, David says
there is another way to get to the Sacred Palace for Sinbad.
As Sinbad is sleeping, Arba appears
before him, weakened because of losing her vessels in Hakuei and Hakuryuu. She
hates having to rely on David, the cause of everything that’s happening now,
even as far back as Alma Torran, but she has no other choice, David explaining
his plan to her as we shift forward.
Aladdin’s group arrives, meeting
Pipirika, happy to see them after so long, Aladdin even flirting with her,
Morgiana thinking he resembles Sinbad in his youth. They go to meet Sinbad,
Jafar’s expression telling Alibaba that he was aware that Aladdin and the
others were in hiding from Sinbad.
To everyone’s surprise, Sinbad
admits defeat, saying he couldn’t hope to defeat Aladdin even with his Metal
Vessels if Arba couldn’t do so.
Aladdin inquires about Sinbad being
able to see the flow of destiny, also noting how Alibaba has changed things
drastically, Fan Fan Trading Company’s progress more than Sinbad expected.
The Magi says that he’s been
thinking about the nature of destiny. He’s concluded there isn’t a single
destiny that is fixed. And what drives the world forward towards whatever
destiny it has is people’s hopes and dreams. Motivations will differ, but
everyone seeks a future that fits with what they desire.
With that in mind, he says that
Sinbad should work alongside them and share the burden of trying to change the
world for the betterment of everyone. Sinbad agrees, thinking that things
should be adjusted in that way.
But as he leaves, he thinks to
himself that Aladdin is deluded to say such a thing, only his perspective
correct as to the true nature of destiny.
As the chapter ends, Sinbad calls
out to David, but is shocked to find that he cannot hear his voice anymore, something
having changed since he slept a few days ago.
Sinbad awakens after a dream where
he resolved to create a happy world. He thinks it’s not so bad that he doesn’t
hear David’s voice anymore, progressing through the day with various duties he
has as president.
Alibaba and Aladdin meet up with
Sinbad, Alibaba saying he has a new idea related to the communication devices.
He’s concerned about Budel having a rough time in the Kou Empire. Sinbad warns
him that even if Budel’s company hasn’t gone bankrupt, with so much
competition, things will become more difficult as time goes by.
Sinbad goes to the Kou Empire to
negotiate things between Fanfan and Sindria Trading Company, Kougyoku leaving
it to Ka Koubun. The King of the 7 Seas comments how Kougyoku’s being childish,
saying that he did what he had to in the past to protect the Kou Empire from
further civil war.
Later on, Sinbad meets up with
Hinahoho, who emphasizes how amazing his king is, having his own difficulties
in Imuchakk as a ruler. With Hinahoho
commenting on how he wants to see his grandchildren grow up, Sinbad feels old
as well
He and Sinbad, along with others,
head to a memorial monument. Many people are there, including Drakon and his
wife, Hinahoho and Pipirika and Spartos. Spartos remembers his brother, Mystoras
(from Adventures of Sinbad) mourning that he couldn’t truly understand his
brother’s suffering.
Pipirika says it’s better he remembers the good times,
Pipirika unable to forget the tragedy of that day, likely referring to the death
of her sister in law, Rurumu (also from Adventures of Sinbad). Drakon and his
wife being there suggests that Princess Serendine (from the same series) also
died in a war that Sindria’s first kingdom had with Parthevia, which
strengthened all their resolves to make the world a better place, peaceful and
without war.
Sinbad praises his subordinates, but
they reverse it upon him, saying that he was their inspiration, their pillar of
strength in times of difficulty.
The president of the International
Alliance remembers how he was supported by them as well, changing his
perspective to oppose that of David’s, the chapter ending as he still thinks on
how he can’t hear David’s voice.
Bleach 686 (END)
We see an orange haired child,
chased by what seems to be Hiyori, wondering how they even got in there,
frustrated at being unable to catch them.
Byakuya is headed towards the
mysterious reiatsu that resembles Juhabach, telling Soifon that they don’t need
to tell Rukia. They meet up with Mayuri, who tells them he’s not entirely sure
what’s going to happen, but the three await what happens next.
We shift over to the Kurosaki
clinic, Ichigo meeting Rukia and Renji, inviting them in to meet Mizuiro,
Tatsuki and Keigo. Yuzu and Karin come in as they’re meeting up to see the
televised match that features Chad, who’s become a world heavyweight fighter.
Uryuu is on top of the Karakura
Hospital, streaming the match on his smartphone, employees thinking he’s being
awfully considerate for someone who seems to never take a break.
Ichigo asks where Yuzui, his and
Orihime’s child presumably, is. Orihime, through Shun Shun Rikka, tracked him
going to Hiyori’s place and that he’s back upstairs.
Yuzu observes that he seems to like
being in Ichigo’s room, though Ichigo reminds her that it’s her room now, the
aunt not caring about her nephew coming and going as he pleases, to Karin’s
chagrin.
Rukia and Renji’s child is nowhere
to be seen, but Rukia thinks she’ll be fine, having been promoted to a Soul
Reaper candidate already.
Meanwhile, the mysterious black
substance connected to Juhabach appears in Ichigo’s room, Yuzui grabbing it.
Mayuri, Byakuya and Soifon are prepared to attack, but as Yuzui grabs it, the
presence disappears in Soul Society.
We see Aizen, now imprisoned again,
commenting on how those last vestiges of Juhabach’s power are now gone.
Flashing back to the conclusion of
the battle between Ichigo and Juhabach, the Quincy King says that Ichigo has
closed the door to a world where no one would fear anything, everything melded
into one, even life and death fused.
Juhabach disappears, leaving us with
a mystery of how the worlds maintained their stability in spite of what was
essentially the Soul King disappearing. I can only speculate Aizen stood as a
replacement in spite of his being imprisoned or Ichigo somehow rendered it a
natural law rather than something embodied in a person, the latter making a bit
more sense in a way.
Aizen comments how a world like
Juhabach’s would make humans weaker, not affected by the fear of death and
being able to overcome it through courage and persevere towards their dreams.
The series ends as we see Rukia and
Renji’s child, Ichika, appear before Yuzui, introducing herself as a Shinigami
apprentice, Yuzui changing his form as he says he’s a Shinigami as well, Ichika
shocked at this.
It’s not a great ending necessarily,
but Kubo’s never been the most traditional shounen mangaka, so I’m giving it a
pass on the basis that Kubo may have intended the ending to be somewhat abstract
in nature, not clearcut.
One Piece 836
We’re further reminded about Lola
being Pudding’s older sister and seeking her own love, as well as how Nami was
given Big Mom’s Vivre Card by Lola in Thriller Bark. And Nami even pieces
together that Lola is Big Mom’s child.
Randolph and his crane rush to
attack the group again, but is stopped by Cracker, who glares at the Homies
(that’s quite literally their name in Japanese katakana, so I’m sticking with
it) nearby, causing them to wither away, as if their lifespan disappeared in an
instant. Cracker chastises Randolph, who tries to pin the blame on his mount.
Cracker explains that he’s here
because Brulee would’ve been unable to defeat Luffy’s group on her own, the
Mirror Woman taking offense to that as we see her appear on a giant tree Homie,
the leader of the Seducing Woods, Baum.
Brulee’s methods are too slow for
Cracker, who says they need to finish off their enemies before tomorrow,
because the Vinsmoke family will be in attendance for the wedding. Big Mom’s
goal has been to acquire Germa 66’s military force as well as their scientific
capabilities.
Brulee releases a group of animals
to attack everyone, Luffy confused at why a branch of the tree is talking, the
Mirror Woman insulted at that comment. She reveals Chopper and Carrot are
trapped in her mirror, dropping it and shattering it to pieces before them,
though they aren’t hurt by it, just prevented from escaping.
Lola’s father begs Cracker to not
hurt him, even saying he might be the Sweet Commander’s father. Cracker says
that’s possible, though the connections of blood are apparently unclear now
with Big Mom’s powers possibly severing them in some way.
Before Cracker can attack Linlin’s
husband, Luffy knocks him back, punching his sword and kicking his arm.
Nami asks the name of Linlin’s
former husband, revealed to be Pound.
Cracker tells the Homies to capture
Luffy’s group, but when Nami pulls out Big Mom’s Vivre card, they scatter in
fear, unable to oppose her.
The chapter ends as Cracker
duplicates his arms, ready to fight Luffy as we’re told that his bounty is the
2nd highest known in the series at 860M Berry.
Toriko 383
We see Mansam laughing, trying to
ease the fear of how powerless he is in the face of everything that’s
happening.
Meanwhile, Setsuno’s stamina is
nearing its limit as she’s still trying to protect Human World from the massive
attacks that are tearing apart the rest of the earth. She senses that Jirou is
gone and Chichi may be dying soon as well, thinking there are only 2 hopes
left, Toriko and likely Midora.
Acacia is gloating in the power he’s
acquired, PAIR furious at his betrayal. He even claims the Gourmet God will die
after consuming his appetite as he did, but Acacia responds that he has a
secret Full Course that will allow him to stabilize. He leaves PAIR alive,
noting how they once ate parts of each other in a battle long ago, so he’ll
spare him on that basis.
He calls Joa to help him, but the
Divine Chef is stunned as Starjun stands up, revealing that Gourmet Luck attack
was somehow an ingredient that he was most compatible with, stabilizing him
from near death. Starjun speaks about how Toriko has shared himself with
others, revealing he and Toriko are indeed brothers.
Meanwhile, Chichi has managed to
heal Toriko with Dark Arts, putting his own cells and those of the Red Nitro he
consumed recently into his body. There’s a risk of his body rejecting the
cells, but Toriko wakes up, thanking the Blue Nitro as his own body starts to
disintegrate from using the Dark Arts. He thanks Toriko as he finally passes
on, saying he’ll be reborn eventually
Toriko hears a voice from within
GOD, thinking it’s Komatsu.
Starjun’s revelation to Joa is still
sinking in, Starjun nearly revealing his father before Acacia steps in, saying
they need to move on and finish off the 8 Kings
It turns out Acacia unleashed a rain
of the pure appetite energy that Toriko and the other 4 Heavenly Kings used to
defeat the Four Beast, threatening to consume the entire earth.
But it’s stopped by Midora, who
appears before Acacia, the chapter ending as they’re ready to fight it out.
Fairy Tail 497
We see Eileen slowly drawing out Fairy Heart from
Mavis’ body, commenting how Invel’s Ice Sleep shackle is progressively taking
away Mavis’ sense of self, comparing it to freezing one’s heart to nothing.
Zeref asks how long it will take, not wanting Mavis
to suffer much. But Eileen responds that he must kill that part of himself if
he is to ever hope of defeating Acnologia, the Dark Mage agreeing as he leaves.
Neinhart appears, reporting to Eileen that Erza has
been located. The Scarlet Mage tells him to kill her, but the Historia Mage
notes that his power doesn’t work on her. But Eileen responds that he can fight
her himself, his sclera darkening as some power Eileen has over him starts to
activate, the mage becoming obedient.
Meanwhile, Erza and the others are continuing their
fight, Gildartz not aware of his power and almost drawing others into the
massive upheaval of the earth he creates.
Natsu blasts Fire Dragon’s Roar, but finds his fire
has been frozen. He blames Gray, but he says it’s not him. Natsu tries to
unleash another fire blast as a new cold starts to spread, but that flame is
frozen as well.
Suddenly, everyone but the Ice Mage is frozen stiff, Invel appearing
as he knocks Gray away.
He reveals his full name, Yura Invel, hinting with
his motions that he uses a form of Ice Make as well, pummeling Gray with a
flurry of attacks.
The chapter ends as Gray is stunned that he’s
shivering before this cold, Mavis thinking to herself that if they don’t defeat
Invel, she’ll disappear forever.
