Black Clover 74
The Black Bulls are leaving, Charmy
having captured the Eye of the Midnight Sun attackers in what Magna recognizes
as high tier binding magic, suggesting she’s pretty powerful despite her magic
being cotton based.
Asta encourages Kiato and Kahono to
continue to pursue their dreams, Kiato showing his new leg he got, while Kahono
is still able to communicate through sound waves of some sort in spite of her
throat being damaged.
The group is recovering back at
base, Gordon forgotten, though we’re told he’s just bad with talking to people
and actually does want friends, but isn’t able to really convey it very well
Yami is going to talk with the
Wizard King, Charmy, Finral and Asta all coming along.
Finral leaves the group after
teleporting them there, the rest of the group going to meet Julius.
He’s given the magic stone, praising
the Black Bulls for not losing any members in the fight, since the Magic
Knights guarding Raquey were decimated. Julius will have Vett’s body autopsied,
and in the meantime, he’s impressed at how powerful Yami has become,
remembering when people thought he was crazy to recruit such a person into the
Magic Knights.
Julius praises Yami, who thinks he’s
being excessive about it. Yami notes that he just did what he asked, proving
himself by accomplishing the task set before him in his own way. And he wants
to show that Julius wasn’t wrong, as well as showing his own capacity for
choosing subordinates like Asta and Charmy.
The Wizard King also praises Asta,
who asks for his autograph, to Yami’s annoyance, since he’s Asta’s direct
superior. Julius seems to think Charmy is Yami’s child, irritating him at the
suggestion
Suddenly, Marx interrupts them,
saying there’s an attack by Diamond Kingdom on a border town called Kiten.
The Magic Knights guarding the area
were all but wiped out. But Julius thinks this isn’t just a mild provocation,
since the guys leading them are 3 of the 8 Shining Generals, who are the Diamond
Kingdom’s equivalent of Clover Kingdom’s Magic Knights
But Marx is notified of something,
telling Julius that the Golden Dawn has appeared on the scene, Yuno, along with
the captain and 2 other members, ready to fight off the invaders as the chapter
ends.
Boku no Hero Academia 103
Everyone’s confused at Inasa having
rejected his admission to Yuuei, but we shift our focus to a new Hero, Ms.
Joke, who’s a friend of Aizawa’s, proposing marriage to him, which he flatly
rejects. Her Quirk forces people to laugh, which impairs their ability to
fight, making her effective as a Hero.
Ms. Joke introduces her class,
second years from Ketsubutsu Academy, most of them amazed to see Yuuei’s first
year students, many in the news recently.
One of the students, Shindou, shakes
everyone’s hands, impressed at their resolve in the face of the dangers they’ve
faced in the last year, especially Bakugou. But he rejects Shindou’s handshake,
the Hero thinking it’s fine, since it shows Bakugou’s strong spirit.
Some of the other Ketsubutsu
students are interacting with Yuuei students, the teachers telling them to get
suited up and move to the information sessions.
The introduction is given by a guy
from the Hero Public Safety Commission, nearly ready to fall asleep from the
workload. He explains that there are over 1500 students here and they need to
cut down those numbers.
Since society feels that Heroes have
become overly saturated in society and the standards are somewhat ambiguous as
to how much a Hero can expect compensation for their deeds versus doing it for
the sake of helping others. The provisional license will thrust these new
Heroes into that environment and it is merciless.
The endgame is thinning the numbers
to 100 out of the 1540, meaning it’s only about 5% of the total that will
survive rather than the 50% promised before.
The basics are explained, each
participant having 3 targets they can put anywhere on an exposed part of the
body. Each person gets 6 balls and must try to hit the targets. Whoever gets
the 3rd target is considered the one who finished that person off. Whoever gets
2 captures passes to the next round. We see the arena open up around them, massive in scale and possessing various environments.
Ms. Joke thinks Aizawa must be quite
fond of this class if he hasn’t expelled any of them yet.
Deku tells the others that they need
to work as a group, but Bakugou and Todoroki ignore him, saying they need to
work individually for once.
Deku’s worried that the other
schools will take the same strategy and target their class, Ms. Joke explaining
to Aizawa that Yuuei doesn’t have the same advantage of their Quirks being
unknown, since they were shown to the country through the Sports Festival,
meaning the general pattern year to year is that the other schools target Yuuei
for elimination.
Aizawa says he didn’t tell his class
because he already expected they were aware of this and that they’re going to
move forward with the goal of pushing past that limitation and get stronger,
using that as a springboard to becoming pro Heroes.
The chapter ends as everyone starts
to show off their powers, ready to win this preliminary to get provisional Hero
licenses.
World Trigger 154
Ikoma’s confused at how Yuma managed
to dodge his Whirlwind Kogetsu, his teammate suggesting he attack again. The
second assault is dodged as we’re told how Whirlwind Kogetsu works.
The length of activation time is
inversely proportional to the range: so if you activate it for a shorter period
of time, then the range is extended further, Ikoma’s 40 meters long, while
normally, it’s around 15 meters. The
technique required to utilize this as Ikoma does is impressive and very precise
in nature, meaning he’s not to be underestimated in spite of how silly he acts.
Ouji squad, having surrounded Kuga
as well, tries to assault him with Hound, but he dodges. Ikoma tells his
squadmate to target Ouji instead, blasting them with Asteroid. But they turn
out to be Hound, keeping them in midair for Ikoma to attack.
Kurauchi distracts them by utilizing
Grasshopper as Ikoma slashes again with Kogetsu, cutting a building near in
half.
Both Chika and Oki blast him with
Sniper fire, knocking him back down. Ouji tells his squad to stay back from
Ikoma, but Yuma appears from behind, taking out Kurauchi by decapitation and
getting a point for Tamakoma 2
Isami and Kitazoe compliment Yuma
for being able to take advantage of the timing and get the point in that
opening that he had. And Kurauchi was a valuable member, since he was Ouji
Squad’s mid range fighter, Ouji and the other teammate being more close range.
Ouji unit decides to pull back,
their Operator creating a path for them to get past the Snipers.
As Ouji unit retreats, Ikoma is
still dodging Chika’s Lead Bullet assault, trying to take out Yuma as well.
Ikoma directs Oki to target Chika
with the radar data they’ve acquired, their Sniper reluctant to attack a girl like
Chika, even complimenting her tactics as a Sniper.
He even suggests Ikoma do it, but
the captain says he couldn’t do such a thing with his face, implying his
teammate has a better looking face by comparison and is more popular with women.
Yuma clashes with Ikoma’s 2
Attackers, the chapter ending as we see that Ouji squad is moving to target
Chika and Oki as well, making things much tougher for Tamakoma 2’s strategy.
Seven Deadly Sins 188
Monspiet explains to Derriere how
they eliminated the Goddess summoned by Denzel, the only other major threat
being Escanor, while Greylord and Fraudrin will finish off the leftovers.
He fixes up her hair, even offering
her an outfit, which she rejects, thinking he’s making fun of her, though the
Commandment was being sincere. But the two react, sensing some new presence
that surprises them.
We see Hawk’s mom crashing through
the forest, heading as fast as they can with Elizabeth, Hawk and Zaratras on
her back towards Liones.
The former Great Holy Knight says he
senses a great amount of evil energy in the capital. He’s worried about
bringing Elizabeth into this conflict, but she says she promised Meliodas she
would continue to fight and protect the kingdom. Hawk is also confident in his
power, which makes Zaratras happy
But they encounter demons, Zaratras
managing to Purge one of them, though even more appear before them.
Hawk’s mom smashes through them in
spite of being told to turn around, Hawk actually eating a tiny piece of one of
the demons accidentally and transforming into a new form.
But the tables turn again as
Monspiet and Derriere appear, the Commandment of Purity recognizing Elizabeth,
asking what she’s doing here, confusing Elizabeth.
Monspiet moves behind Zaratras, the
Holy Knight moving to strike Derriere, who knocks him back, but is stopped by
Elizabeth using the Ark power we saw from the Goddess before to stop the second
blow.
The hand is crushed by the attack,
Derriere rushing to strike Elizabeth with her other hand. But suddenly she’s
struck by an unknown figure, knocked off the giant pig, Monspiet going to save
her.
The chapter ends as Elizabeth is
ecstatic to see that Meliodas has woken up, ready to fight again.
One Piece 837
Cracker introduces himself as the
Biscuit Knight, his sword dubbed Pretzel. Nami warns Luffy not to fight, but
the Straw Hat captain ignores her warning
He goes into Gear 3rd and clashes with
Cracker, who knocks him back with his shield to his surprise. The Sweet Commander
stabs him with a barrage of swords, eventually blasting him through a number of
Homies with Pretzel Roll
Nami tells Luffy to run, Brulee
mocking her. She says she’s seen the fear in Nami’s eyes, others in the Worst Generation
and even before that failing before the might of Big Mom’s crew, including
Apoo, Bege, Kidd and Urouge.
The only one who put up a
significant challenge was Urouge, taking out one of the original 4 Sweet
Commanders. But this just made Big Mom send Cracker to soundly defeat the Mad
Monk. Brulee emphasizes how hopeless the situation is, that they cannot win
against their power.
The Mirror Woman grabs Nami with her
Mirror powers, but is punched away by Pound, Nami following it up with a
Thunderbolt Tempo to defeat her for the moment.
As she and Pound retreat, she
comments on how useful Big Mom’s Vivre card will be.
Meanwhile, Luffy tries to attack
Cracker with Hawk Gatling, but Cracker uses Armament Haki that manages to
deaden the power of his attacks.
As he slams Luffy down, Cracker
insists that he cannot save Sanji, and even if he got to him, he’d regard his
crewmates as low class peasants, since he has royal blood.
But suddenly Luffy goes into Gear 4th
and smashes Cracker with Kong Gun, knocking him out as the chapter ends on him
saying that Sanji would never speak like that to his friends, even if he was
happy marrying Pudding.

As Midora and Acacia square off, an
Emperor Ring is created by the sheer force of their powers clashing.
Acacia can sense that Midora resents
him for some reason, Midora explaining that Ichiryuu told him that there was
one opponent he must defeat.
The Gourmet Corps boss discerns that
Acacia set things up so Frohze would die from her preparation of GOD in a
weakened state, even arranging it so Midora would come to her wounded so she’d
do so in spite of the danger it posed to her
Frohze wouldn’t be so naïve as to
not know her own stamina: Midora thinks she did it to stop Acacia’s plans. The
Gourmet God then killed her and summoned Joa’s soul into her body.
But Acacia responds that it was more
complex than that: Frohze was pregnant with his child and her stamina was
sapped already. The child was born after she died, nurtured by the Cure Water
that Midora gave to her grave regularly, bursting out of the earth.
Joa tries to manipulate Midora’s
emotions again by acting like Frohze, but Midora glares, his Intimidation
freezing him in place.
Midora explains that Joa isn’t the
child that Frohze was pregnant with, but her reincarnated form, her sex having
changed from eating PAIR. This creates a conflict as to which is entirely true:
either Frohze’s memories are fuzzy as Joa as Midora says or she’s truly dead
and Joa is Frohze’s body with the soul of a chef from ancient times who was
said to be a master of Dark Arts of cooking.
Acacia says it doesn’t matter either
way: all he wanted was a cook with that level of Food Luck to prepare the
ingredients the best way.
He also notes that he didn’t
consider Frohze an inconvenience, since she was staunchly loyal to him in spite
of insinuations by the Gourmet God that he was unfaithful to her, the God Chef
still cooking him a meal every night. Midora's rage has reached its peak, saying that there's no need to talk anymore.
Midora knocks Acacia into the
stratosphere, Acacia countering with a blow that Midora diverts with Food Luck,
smashing into the earth itself. He then
smashes Acacia again with Hungry Blow, ready to finish him off.
But Joa tries to slash at him with
an attack enhanced by Gourmet Cells, the attack missing as Midora says he still
hasn’t told Joa his Full Course.
The chapter ends as Brunch is trying
to revive Teppei with Cure Water, PAIR offering to aid the Reviver if he undoes
the Knocking that Acacia did on him.
Fairy Tail 498
Gray blocks Invel’s initial attack and counters, but
the Winter General stops his Ice Strike cold and shatters it, saying that
Gray’s Ice Make is nothing compared to his magic.
The Ice Mage then utilizes the Ice Demon Slayer
magic to attack Invel with Ice Devil’s Zeroth Longsword, Invel amazed at the
use of such a power, since it will slowly corrupt and kill the user over time.
But this impresses Invel, gaining some respect, since he was wounded by the
attack
With Invel’s attention drawn he fully utilizes his
power, a blizzard spreading over the battlefield. He warns Gray that his heart
is slowly being turned by darkness
Invel notes that darkness is not necessarily good or
evil, connected back to Zeref in a way. But he’s concerned that Gray may be
taken over in some way and be unable to control the power.
Gray retorts that he’s not trying to be purely good,
willing to become a villain to save his family and friends.
Natsu encourages that, using his power to finally
melt the ice. Brandish takes Lucy, Happy and Natsu away, growing herself to
titanic proportions in the process.
Juvia and Gray are left behind, Invel using his Ice
Lock power on them, binding the pair together. He says that since it binds them
to his will, he commands them to fight to the death, the chain only breaking
when one of them dies.
The Winter General leaves, saying that once Gray
kills someone he loves, his darkness will fully awaken
The chapter ends as Gray seems to be willing to kill
Juvia, Invel thinking Gray is the one that will stop END (Natsu in reality) and
Juvia thinking that she’d rather die than fight or kill Gray.
