One Piece is on break this week. Magi was on break, but apparently that gap was Golden Week, so we’re caught up.

Black Clover 60

The priest jokingly says the game will be rubbing Vanessa and Noelle’s chests, Noelle punching him for even suggesting it. His sight is special, since he could tell they were after the magic stones somehow.

Magna, Gauche and Luck contemplate just beating him up to get the magic stones, while Vanessa, Charmy and Finral are reluctant until the priest mentions they’ll get wine, food and women, each of them interested in one of them enough to ignore the danger.

Asta’s not sure how to take this, but Yami stops him before he gets too stuck on the mission. He accepts the priest’s challenge as the old man uses his Gamer Magic (very vague magic elements at this point) to summon a group of amphibious/fish people as challengers.

Everyone’s teleported to the inside of the temple, the rules explained by the priest: 9 versus 9, Magic Knights versus the Water Temple Knights. Whoever defeats the most or all of the other side wins. They can try to hide or do other things besides fight fair, but the old man will be interfering in his own way.

Also, in spite of their being 10 Black Bulls, Yami is left out to be with the priest and watch the tournament from a spectator spot with him. The priest explains it’s because Yami’s too strong, the captain accepting this and drinking with him

8 members have met up with each other, the Temple Knights thinking the Black Bulls are especially weak.

The priest even inquires about their rankings, Yami explaining they’re all fairly low ranked. The Temple Knights, if we use the Magic Knight rankings, are at least middle ranked.

But the chapter concludes as Yami notes that they aren’t as strong as their ranks would suggest, they’re much more powerful, Gauche, Asta, Magna and Luck landing powerful blows on their opponents.

Boku no Hero Academia 89

Every one of the Villains, along with Bakugou is quickly being teleported away by the mysterious black goop, All Might trying to grab Shigaraki to be teleported away as well

Kamui Woods apologizes for not being able to stop them, but Edge Shot observes that this isn’t like Black Mist’s warp that connects two places, but only transports what is intended by the target

All Might has multiple Noumus grab onto him, but he uses Oklahoma Smash and throws them away with amazing force

Endeavor is managing to keep the Noumus at bay in spite of them still coming out of apparently nowhere.

The #2 Hero tells All Might he has it covered here and that he should go to where Jeanist is, since they can’t contact him.

Back at All For One’s fight against Best Jeanist’s team, the Villain Alliance leader applauds the #4 Hero for pulling everyone out of the way of his blast by manipulating their clothes, leaving them only somewhat harmed by the attack.

Best Jeanist moves to attack All For One, but is stopped by some other Quirk, Shigaraki’s master saying that Fiber Master isn’t a Quirk suited to his student.

Deku’s group is still paralyzed by fear, only released slightly when they smell the odd material that teleports Bakugou along with Shigaraki’s group.

All For One consoles his pupil, saying that they can try again and that’s why he’s here to support him, mirroring All Might’s mentality of being there to help the people he can.

Deku thinks he has to do something, wanting to rush out, but Iida stops him, saying he’ll protect them this time.

But suddenly they recognize someone’s coming, All Might clashing with All For One as the chapter ends on their fight about to begin.

Seven Deadly Sins 173

Meliodas bounds off a rock to finish off Dolor, but he hardens his body with Heavy Metal, reducing the damage significantly.

Gloxinia uses the Moon Rose to heal Dolor, but before he can get another dose of it, Meliodas smashes him away, the Fairy barely able to dodge, but eventually knocked into the ground by one of the demon knight’s attacks.

Dolor sends a spike of earth from the ground to stab Meliodas, but he gets leverage from the force and kicks Dolor down.

Elizabeth’s group is amazed that Meliodas has the advantage in this fight against 2 of the Ten Commandments.

Gowther notes that Meliodas is merely able to keep one incapacitated so he can continue to fight one on one for the most part, only capable with his raw strength.

King thinks that things are only more in his favor with his latent demonic powers he already had along with his strength that Merlin restored recently.

The fact that Meliodas knows the Ten Commandments makes Ban and King think that their captain is a traitor in the eyes of the demons.

Diane doesn’t really think Meliodas is so bad, Elizabeth holding out hope that he’ll be able to come back.

Gloxinia and Dolor are disappointed in their former ally, fighting with the humans that they regard as worthless. The giant known as Balor to the humans even observes that he sees a defeat in Meliodas’ future.

Meliodas prepares to finish them off, but suddenly multiple presences crash into the area.

The others realize what’s happening, the amount of magic power overwhelming as Ban tells Meliodas he needs to retreat.

We see that the entirety of the Ten Commandments, minus Galan, Merascylla still alive somehow, have appeared before Meliodas

The chapter ends as Zeldris stands right next to Meliodas, the fight becoming much more dangerous for the Sin of Wrath.

World Trigger 142

Katori squad is bickering over how to take out Osamu, not sure whether to charge in because of his Spider wire strategy.

Meanwhile, Kakizaki is planning to make an opening for Fumika, thinking back to when he first enlisted in Border.

He and Arashiyama are at a press conference, a reporter asking about whether they will focus on protecting their family or the citizens. Kakizaki is deliberating, but Arashiyama comes out and says he will focus on his family first.

They accuse him of being irresponsible, but he responds that he still wishes to protect everyone’s families, but his comes first in his motivation as a Border agent. But he still notes that his goal is to protect everyone with all his might, that motivation staying strong as long as his family is safe.

Kakizaki flashes forward, thinking about the situation as Sakurako notes how Tamakoma 2 has a stronger resolve and response than Katori and Kakizaki squads in this battle.

The captain makes an opening for his teammate, Yuma noticing this as Fumika heads towards Chika on the tops of the buildings, avoiding the wires, but putting herself more directly in the Sniper’s line of sight.

Fumika deliberates how she’ll get the shortest route in order to attack Chika, the Bagworm too time consuming.

Tokieda and Izumi note that this is unusual for Kakizaki, since the unit usually moves together, emphasizing a bond of solidarity for the strength that they have as a team and what assures their victory, so this time, it’s possible Kakizaki might have decided too late to send one of his members alone.

Kakizaki thinks back to when he left Arashiyama squad when they were chosen as the public relations unit, not confident in his own abilities.

Meanwhile, he met Ui, his Operator and decided to form his own squad. Kotaro and Fumika joined because they felt inspired by his appearance with Arashiyama 4 years ago, Kakizaki unsure about why they’d have chosen him as their captain, since they were considered aces in their own right back then.

Yuma’s assault is difficult for Kakizaki to endure and counter with only one arm.

Kakizaki thinks to himself that he isn’t good enough to be the captain to such talented people like his teammates and Operator. They all are considered objectively better than him in general evaluations and his own failure of not making a decision weighs heavily on his sense of responsibility as the captain, since he thinks they could’ve gotten further than lower-middle B rank with their talent.

In spite of this, he feels that he can’t underestimate how important his teammates are, resolving to try his best in this match.

As Yuma attacks, Kakizaki grabs one of his arms, taking a stab to the chest from a Scorpion.

But as a last ditch effort, we see Kakizaki blast Yuma at point blank range with his Hound, trying to take him out as well as the chapter ends.

Magi 304

Alibaba is making new plans when he’s contacted by Aladdin, but before the message can go through, it’s interrupted, as if something’s blocking the Rukh, revealed to what seems to be Arba/Gyokuen trying to find him.

We shift back to the Parthevia Empire, Jafar questioning Sinbad’s manipulation of information to spread the fear of the Kou Imperial Trading Company rearming itself and using the teleportation circles for war.

But he says that if Alibaba’s plan went through, then their airships wouldn’t have the monopoly they do, Hakuei agreeing with this, saying that Sinbad needs to rule the world.

Jafar leaves them, Sinbad asking Hakuei if they can make the teleportation magic into a tool as they did. She notes that, as Arba and the other magicians in Alma Torran all had such magic, they didn’t need to design those tools and only Ugo/Uraltugo had the expertise to do so.

This leaves them with only the option of using Solomon’s Wisdom, which only Aladdin has. Letting him get away ruined their plans.

Hakuei/Arba explains that she did intercept Aladdin’s communication and knows where he is, but it’s not that simple.

We see Aladdin and Morgiana at the Dark Continent, Aladdin’s power greater than before. And their location keeps them fairly safe, since Arba can’t reach this place with the true Fanalis presence and the power they hold.

The Fanalis in their Red Lion forms appear before the two, wondering why Morgiana isn’t in her true form, which Aladdin is suppressing, since she’d be too large to live with them otherwise.

They’re on the floating island of Kina, meaning that civilization moved to the Dark Continent area to be out of the influence of the International Alliance.

The rukh affects the vegetables in odd ways, but the main concern is Arba eventually getting there.

We flashback to a fight between Aladdin and Arba 2 years ago, Aladdin not doing well against the more experienced Magi. Sinbad stops Arba before she can finish him off, saying that Aladdin doesn’t need to worry, since Al Thamen doesn’t exist anymore and she’s different now.

He asks Aladdin to become his Magi, Aladdin saying it’s not about Al Thamen, it’s just that he doesn’t agree with what the King of the Seven Seas plans to do as the chapter concludes

Bleach 673

Renji and Rukia manage to pull themselves up, narrowly dodging Gerard’s attack when he transformed into his new form.

Toushirou warns them about the danger, but Renji doesn’t initially recognize him, Rukia also confused, thinking he’s Toushirou’s older brother as the Soul Reaper decides to go along with it for now instead of trying to explain

Everyone senses Ichigo’s reiatsu spiking as we shift to his fight with Juhabach.

The two are still at an impasse, Juhabach noting how Ichigo’s reiatsu is so immense that it’s begun to manifest, suggesting it’s his true power rather than the imitations we saw in the past.

But Ichigo wonders why Juhabach doesn’t know how he’s going to attack already, the Quincy King explaining that he’s not using his power now, wanting to savor this meeting between father and son.

Ichigo dismisses their connection, Juhabach emphasizing that Isshin was more of a surrogate father, noting their connection by his blood as a Quincy.

The Soul Reaper/Quincy hybrid continues to deny any real connection, since Juhabach murdered his mother, Juhabach thinking Ichigo isn’t seeing the big picture here

The fight begins in earnest as Ichigo releases Getsuga Tenshou, but Juhabach blocks the attack with the Soul King’s power, pushing him back.

Ichigo is protected by Orihime’s Santen Kesshun and pushes forward

But his attack is stopped right as he nears Juhabach, the Quincy King saying that his mother’s death was a necessary part of his plan for Ichigo to be born and that he should be happy to be part of such a grand design.

Ichigo is thrown back by the Soul King’s power, the chapter ending as Juhabach prepares to release the fullness of the power he stole from the head of Soul Society and finish this fight.

Toriko 370

Correction from last week: Komatsu wasn’t going after Aimaru, it was actually Brunch. Komatsu doesn’t have electric powers, he was just unlucky to get targeted by GOD last time

Joa leaves Midora behind to die once Earth has been destroyed by their preparation of GOD, using Tokage to teleport to the area.

Brunch catches Aimaru, the Gourmet Knight telling him that he needs to go in a different direction from GOD, since his Gourmet Mold is telling him something. Brunch is skeptical at first, but agrees begrudgingly, since he’d rather be away from GOD, which is trying to eat them, than confront it.

Toriko’s group confronts GOD, each of their Gourmet Cell Demons warning them of the power, Jiji impressed at the sheer life force it’s emitting.

Toriko unleashes a barrage of Jet Fork, GOD slapping them away with its tongue. Sani says it’s dangerous, but uses Demon King’s Spatula to knock the attacks back. But GOD inflates itself and blocks the attacks, sending them flying into the atmosphere

Zebra and Coco’s attacks fail as well, either not doing any real damage with Sound Cutter or the Mold Spear Machine Gun assault dodged.

Starjun uses Heat Dome to keep GOD surrounded so Ootake can try preparing it, since they don’t have Komatsu’s skill available at the moment.

Jiji explains further that the reason why GOD is so powerful now is because of Gourmet Inflation, the increase of flavor also increasing appetite and life force, making ingredients stronger over the billions of years that Gourmet Cells have been in the universe.

But before he can explain how to prepare GOD, a vision of NEO appears behind him.

Jiji remembers how Ichiryuu gave him, Kaka and Chichi names, changing them in a way like Don Slime, being acknowledged as more than just appetite, as individuals, making them less inhuman. They wanted to help Ichiryuu, but things didn’t happen that way.

In his final moments before NEO eats him, Jiji is focused on trying to convey the preparation of GOD, but it seems too late as he’s consumed. Acacia comments on how hopeless it is to fight against him, being eaten by NEO like oblivion.

Joa appears as well, the chapter ending as the two groups square off to acquire GOD.

Fairy Tail 484

Erza awakens, having been healed by Wendy and still recovering from the deep injuries. She’s told about how the war on their end has proceeded. They have taken back Hargeon Port, Jellal and Meredy dealing with the residual troops.

The group wants to head back to Fairy Tail, worried about the others. Erza is ready to leave, but is stopped, since she, like Laxus, is heavily damaged and needs time to recuperate.

Kagura thinks back to her “kiss” with Jellal and, regretting it, tries to apologize by kissing Erza in return, though everyone is confused at this gesture.

We see Dimaria is imprisoned, the shoe on the other foot as she is in the position she mocked Brandish for earlier.

Back at Fairy Tail, Brandish explains that she will give them information, since she is indebted to Lucy, but she will remain loyal to Alvarez, volunteering to be a negotiator for Fairy Tail with August.

She says only Eileen is considered August’s equal in power, the Wizard King called “Calamity” and Eileen “Despair”

Since she cannot reason with Eileen, not having any real relationship with her, she opts to focus on August, since she knew him since she was young.

Mest/Doranbolt is skeptical of this action, thinking Brandish will just try to escape, but Lucy says she trusts the Spriggan, Natsu having to be stopped before he goes to fight August himself.

We shift to Eileen, speaking of a folktale related to the mountain she’s on, Zonia, the site of a conflict between 2 angels, the white one victorious, which caused the snow to continue falling.

Her 2 subordinates, having a white and black motif for their respective outfits, comment on how she used to reside in Ishgar and thus would know the folklore of the area.

The snow is beginning to be too much for Eileen, her magic slowly melting it away.

Gajeel’s group is helping Sabertooth and Blue Pegasus, Sting in particular feeling powerless. But the Iron Dragon Slayer says he’ll return their feelings in their fight to avenge them.

The scenery radically changes around them as Eileen has made it more like springtime in the area.

She calls on Bradman and Rakheid, the latter also a Spriggan it would seem.

In spite of having 3 Spriggans as their opponents, Gajeel thinks they have 6 monsters on their side, the chapter concluding as the fight is being set up.
