World Trigger is on break this week,
but we’ve got Magi back
Boku no Hero Academia 66
Bakugou and Deku are recovering,
Recovery Girl telling All Might how close he was to injuring his students more
severely. She says that they should rest at the school, but Deku voices a
desire to watch the matches. She says it’s okay, but he shouldn’t strain
himself either. His interest is primarily in seeing the fights featuring pro
Heroes, which Recovery Girl accepts.
Deku wonders about some of the
matchups, esp. Tokoyami and Asui against Ectoplasm. The Hero’s Quirk of
creating copies of himself seems initially weak, but it’s actually good against
Dark Shadow’s limited ability to defend the user in close quarters. Asui’s a
more difficult case, since she’s very balanced, but the goal is for her to help
compensate for Tokoyami’s weakness.
The two are nearly at the gate, but
Ectoplasm fires a giant clone at them, revealing that he can target people with
one massive replica in exchange for not having as much in the way of numbers.
Asui and Tokoyami are stuck, but
Asui tells her partner to give Dark Shadow something that she spits out. Turns
out it’s the handcuffs, using the surprise of her ability to store things in
her stomach to utilize Dark Shadow’s maneuverability to their advantage and win
the challenge.
We shift to Kaminari and Ashido’s
fight against Nedzu, a mouse who has a Quirk which gives him superhuman
intelligence, even above humans. He’s sealing off their escape routes by using
a wrecking ball machine to specifically destroy areas with calculations in
mind.
At Jirou and Kouda’s fight, we see
that Present Mic’s Quirk, Voice, makes his voice intense and able to be used as
weapon with the device on his neck that can direct the powerful sound. He’s
keeping Jirou and Kouda at bay, standing at the gate to block their ability to
even escape, let alone take him on directly.
Kouda is told by Jirou to use his
Quirk to control bugs, but he’s not good with them. But since they have no
other choice, Jirou, after managing to barely counter the sound, kicks up some
dirt to reveal more bugs.
The Animal Speaking Hero resolves to
move forward, reflecting the motto of Yuuei, Plus Ultra, as he commands the
bugs to attack Present Mic. The Hero collapses as they get at him through the
ground, where his sound can’t travel as well, the Heroes getting through the
test as well.
Deku thinks they’re all doing well,
but the chapter ends as we see Mineta is retreating, not doing so well on the
test.
Seven Deadly Sins 148
Everyone’s still in awe at there
being a bar in a cave. Escanor notes that he doesn’t get many customers.
Jericho starts to collapse, Escanor
recognizing Ban. He thinks that she’s a Holy Knight come to capture him, but
she explains that the Sins have had their crimes rescinded and they’re free to
come to Liones.
They quickly explain they’re being
chased, Escanor hiding them in the food storage area behind a giant door.
Galan and Merascylla appear, Escanor
a bit frightened at first. But then the Demons start drinking, enjoying the
alcohol and impressed at what humans can do in the last 3000 years, even
Merascylla dropping her serious attitude.
Escanor is stunned as they reveal
that they’re the Demon Clan’s remnants, noting how they’ll spare him because of
the alcohol he provides.
But Galan then reveals that they know
where Jericho, Ban and Elaine are hiding and will spare them if they win at his
game.
Escanor is confident he can win if
it’s cards or dice, but the Truth reveals that it’s a fight to the death, each
of them picking a weapon and striking until one of them dies.
He tries to negotiate otherwise, but
eventually agrees as Galan threatens to kill everyone if he doesn’t play. But
as the demon playfully pats Escanor’s back in his drunkenness, he knocks the
Sin of Pride out.
Half a day passes, morning coming as
Galan and Merascylla note the decorative axe on the mantle. He tries to pick it
up, but finds it’s too heavy, thinking it’s too imbalanced to be a two handed
axe.
Escanor explains that it’s a one
handed axe, named after a woman blessed by the sun and that it’s not to be held
by someone like a demon, taking it from Galan
The chapter ends as he explains that
he’s human, but above human in the same breath, telling Galan he should curse
coming up against him.
Magi 283
Yunan welcomes Alibaba as he wakes
up, having regained consciousness after being revived from being in the doll
state we saw last chapter. His body had been preserved by the Magi, but since
he was inactive for so long, he has to go through training to regain his
original strength.
The Magi begins to explain what has
happened: the world has become more peaceful and prosperous with Sinbad’s
initiation of an International Alliance, along with rules prohibiting
conscription, slavery and the permission of migration between countries as well
as a unified currency.
The slavery prohibition was
countered with a revolution in magical technology that used Magnostadt as the
base. After forbidding conscription, the money that was saved by the countries
was also used for the magical progress of the culture. But the major
development was to create a global economy, using something similar to what
Kouen was attempting
Even the migration between countries
revolutionized the world, making trade more powerful than violence. And because
of that, Sinbad, along with the rulers of the other countries in the alliance,
abdicated from their positions, becoming the Board of Directors for the
Alliance, their children, like Hinahoho and Sharrkan, becoming rulers in their
place.
But it’s not all good: Aladdin,
Morgiana and Hakuryuu went missing about a year ago. Hakuryuu’s in a bad spot
because he took his Metal Vessel with him, when they’re supposed to be under
the International Alliance’s authority.
Also Takeruhiko of Kina and Nerva of
Reim have become rogues, wanted by the Alliance.
Judar left to look for Hakuryuu,
Alibaba explaining why he came back. He seeks to stop Sinbad, along with David,
from rebuilding the world in their image, Aladdin their major target because of
his connection to the Sacred Palace, from which they can control the flow of
the Rukh.
Alibaba learned all this from the
magicians of Alma Torran, who existed, similarly to him, just as a spirit.
His training finished, he and Yunan
speak together about how the Magi was the one who gave Sinbad his powers, but
somewhat regrets it with the conflict that has come about from it. Also,
Aladdin’s disappearance seems to coincide with Sinbad’s creation of a utopia in
the 3 years that Alibaba’s been missing.
Yunan tells Alibaba to seek the
Sindria Trading Company headquarters in Parthevia so he can start to search in
earnest for his friends’ whereabouts. He’s concerned about Sinbad, but he
thinks he can’t be all bad with the good intentions he started out with.
Alibaba agrees, saying that he has
to see this world after all the changes it went through, the chapter ending as
he sets out on his journey.
One Piece 806
The Eruption Rain spoken of by Wanda
and the others starts, Robin telling everyone they need to flee.
Meanwhile, Kanjuro and Kinemon are
climbing up the leg of the elephant with a cat that Kanjuro made. But the
Eruption Rain gets to them, washing them down the leg.
Wanda explains to Luffy that the
Eruption Rain isn’t strictly rain, but seawater that Zunisha, the elephant that
constitutes Zou, bathes itself in twice a day. It allows them, with the help of
an aqueduct and filter system, to provide water to everyone in the country, as
well as get fish that are sucked in as well for food.
Carrot explains that Bepo, who has
to be left behind, is in the care of Cat Viper, the master of Whale Forest,
Luffy planning to tell Law about his crew being there.
Robin’s group starts to piece
together that this Eruption Rain is a daily occurrence, the city having adapted
to it with how they designed the buildings and such.
Usopp spots Luffy with Wanda and
Carrot, thinking they’re eating him as Carrot continues to nibble at Luffy for
some reason.
Wanda flashes back to when Jack
invaded the country, threatening one of her friends as he demands to know where
a certain person is.
Luffy asks about the person who
attacked, Wanda saying he’s supposedly dead, apparently the same person who
planned to attack Doflamingo’s ship that was taking him to Impel Down. But they
didn’t confirm it, so they think he’s still alive somewhere.
The group arrives at the location
Wanda directed the others too, Law teleporting Usopp, Franky, Robin and Zoro
there as well.
Having arrived at the main city,
Wanda tells them that they’re not hostile to humans unless they act
accordingly, like Jack. They even regard humans as lesser Minks, rather than a
separate species.
After calming the guardians of the
gate, the group starts to enter.
Chopper awakens Nami, who’s
apparently okay, both of them coming to meet their crewmates, who are being
welcomed as friends of the saviors of the village, which would likely be Nami’s
group.
But the chapter ends as we find that
something happened to Sanji.
My thought is that Jack was looking
for Sanji and now he’s kidnapped for some reason.
Bleach 650
We see Ex Axis reform into a new
appearance, something resembling a twisted bird monster with reptilian eyes. He
reiterates how invincible he is, even Shunsui’s blade of reiatsu unable to kill
him.
The Quincy fires a massive blast,
cutting a deep gouge in Soul Palace, but Shunsui managed to dodge, only
irritating the Ex Axis more that he’s avoiding the divine judgment he purports
to give.
Shunsui tells Sakuranosuke they need
to run, his Bankai agreeing, since Ex Axis is immune to what was her greatest
attack.
But as they begin to retreat, Nanao
snaps him out of his slumber, telling him to use her Zanpakutou and to forget
the promise he made with her mother.
Lille Barro appears, trying to kill
them again, but Shunsui getting them out of harm’s way again.
The two discuss what must be done,
Shunsui accepting that the secret has long since been discovered by his Vice
Captain.
The chapter ends as he says he’ll
“give back” (quotations are in the translation) Nanao’s Zanpakutou, Kyoukotsu,
the other half of his Zanpakutou, leaving us with more mystery about the nature
of the agreement and what this means for the battle.
Toriko 346
Everyone’s in shock at Komatsu fully
preparing AIR, even the 10 Shell 5 impressed at his talent as they taste the
ingredient.
Jiji thinks this means Komatsu can
be considered one of the candidates to go to the Soul World. They explain the
cooking match from before was at a tie, but Chiru and Asarudy’s match didn’t
finish, so it’s still a bit of a standstill regardless.
They conclusion is that they should
probably take all of Human World’s chefs, since the 10 Shell 5 accept that
they’ve grown stagnant with all the time and ease they had with preparation of
ingredients with the help of Food Spirits.
But Jiji brings up that they don’t
have enough Golden Cookware. Komatsu arrives, everyone happy he’s arrived.
Asarudy says they need to continue
cooking Acacia’s Full Course, explaining that they only have bits and pieces
that Don Slime managed to revive with the help of King Enma Ika.
Match asks why they use humans as
part of preparing GOD, Asarudy saying it’s because that’s the recipe they
developed, which Komatsu noted was in the notebook from Gourmet Pyramid, which
Jiji, Kaka and Chichi all put together ages ago.
The reason this is the case is
because GOD requires a lot of energy to prepare, humans the best method, which
is why the Four Beast was created. The Blue Nitro seek to revive Acacia’s
Gourmet Demon NEO, but Blue Grill wishes to revive Don Slime, though things
have changed now.
Komatsu wonders if they really need
to sacrifice all this life, Jiji saying that only Frohze was able to cook such
things without the need of killing people. But he also says the techniques are
such that only she knew them. Chinchin theorizes that Food Immersion could help
with providing the energy needed to support someone like Komatsu preparing GOD
and the rest of the Full Course.
Thankfully, the Full Course they’re
preparing at Blue Grill will be easier by comparison, since it’s smaller. But
even ANOTHER will take the longest, the overall time 600,000 years by their
estimates.
In the Soul World, they can reduce
the time drastically, but they still need the Golden Cookware, the only thing
that can prepare such things in the Soul World.
The only way they can make them now,
since they’re seemingly out of reach otherwise, is to find the materials from
Area 6, which means they must face the 7 Beasts. ANOTHER used all of them,
including the Giant Clam that makes up Blue Grill, as places to hide from Whale
King Moon, all of them becoming great Safe Zones.
The Gourmet Knights volunteer to get
the materials, Kuriboh ready to forge them, Melk the 2nd ready to sharpen the
knife and the chefs all resolving to prepare the ingredients with them.
The chapter ends as we see Don Slime
talking with Ika, who tells him that NEO will revive soon, so they don’t have
much time.
Fairy Tail 459-460
A special double issue this week.
Natsu notices Erza falling, rushing
to save her. The Dragon Slayer catches her, the Sword Mage holding up a fist,
showing her representation of Fairy Tail’s resolve as they wait for Wendy to
come and heal her.
Meanwhile, Cana and Lucy are still
recovering from the sandstorm’s conclusion, surprised that Brandish is
overwhelmed by allergies, the sandstorm having stirred up pollen in the area.
Cana takes the opportunity and
knocks Brandish out, the two surprised at how easily she was taken out.
Gray and Mirajane’s group encounter
Wahru, who summons a small group of robots that bear a slight resemblance to
him. They all attack, revealing that they have a counter for each mage’s
specialty, such as steam to overwhelm Juvia’s ability to liquefy herself and
flame to negate Gray’s Ice Make.
Wahru explains that his magic,
Weakness, allows him to make these soldiers, who exploit the vulnerabilities of
his opponents, even something like Mirajane’s inability to attack her brother,
an obvious fake of Elfman hitting her.
The Spriggan leaves his robots to
face Gray and the others while he goes to eliminate Freed.
The Thunder God Tribe is split,
Freed having to stay put to maintain his Jutsu Shiki barrier. But Bixlow and
Evergreen are opposed by Weakness golems that are able to negate their magic as
was shown with the other opponents. Even their eye magic don’t work, Wahru
revealing he’s an android of sorts.
Evergreen and Bixlow are unable to
move, seemingly immobilized by the robots reflecting their powers back on them.
The chapter ends as we see
electricity, but instead of Laxus, it’s Ichiya, saying that he’ll use his
Thunder Perfume to defeat them.
The next chapter begins as we see
Ichiya, Wahru analyzing his weaknesses, but overwhelmed by how many he has.
The Perfume Mage tells the Thunder
God Tribe that he sees them as his children, even though they were cruel to him
in the past and were only with Blue Pegasus for a short while.
Wahru rushes at Ichiya, noting that
even if he was initially confused by all his weaknesses, he’s realized that
only makes his opponent so weak it won’t be an issue. Ichiya is kicked away,
but inhales his perfume directly, energizing his body as he fires a “Manly
Thunderbolt”
But Wahru reveals that he’s used his
magic on himself to get around his weakness, converting electricity into
attacks and even utilizing it to enhance his power, the robot’s form changing
to one that’s taller and stronger in appearance.
Freed concludes that Laxus would be
even more powerless against Wahru, dispelling his runes so that he can start to
fight directly.
Max is confused, communicating
through Warren that they’re being attacked from the west. But Freed tells him
that they’ll handle the soldiers to keep Laxus and everyone safe.
Gray and Mirajane’s group decides to
change opponents, picking those that are best suited to them, exploiting the
weaknesses of the Weakness Soldiers.
Evergreen and Bixlow also change up
their opponents to fight effectively, again taking advantage of the specific
nature of the soldiers’ functions.
But Freed is still in danger, Wahru
threatening to kill him. However, when he’s told that the western forces have
been decimated by Natsu’s group, the Rune Mage goes all out, initiating his
most powerful Ecriture, Ichiya using his Perfume of Manliness as the two tag
team and smash Wahru into pieces.
The chapter ends as everyone
celebrates this victory, not thinking of the danger that still befalls them.
