Seven Deadly Sins 68
Dreyfus confirms whether Hauser intends to support a
criminal, Hauser responding that he’d rather protect her when they aren’t even
willing to protect Zeal, not opposed to sacrificing him for their greater good.
Jericho thinks Geera’s messing around, Helbram wondering why
she doesn’t want to figure out about her father. But Geera thinks she already
knows what might’ve happened and is grateful to Diane for saving her brother.
Dreyfus insists that their only goals are to punish evil and protect the
kingdom; even though their resistance is treason, he’ll forgive them if they
change sides now. They refuse, the fight starting with them staring each other
down, sizing each side’s power.
Geera asks Hauser, a Platinum Holy Knight, what their
chances are. They don’t know how their two powers work together and Hauser
notes they’re up against a Great Holy Knight, Dreyfus, a Cardinal, Helbram, and
a Diamond Rank Holy Knight, Gilthunder. Their chances, by his assessment, are
zero.
Dreyfus moves to attack, Dreyfus sending a huge tornado up
at them. He condenses it, so it’s at its greatest power, which manages to stall
Dreyfus long enough for Geera to pour her power into the twister. She fires a
series of bombs into it to enact a combination technique.
Gowther sees the explosion, noting Diane’s in danger and
moving to help her. But he’s pursued by Holy Knights with a Location and
Discriminate power, figuring out his location and identity, plus analyzing his
powers. Another Holy Knight comes in with some unknown power. Gowther advises
them to fight somewhere with less citizens, but Dreyfus has told them to ignore
the citizens, just sending it home that he is not a noble person at all.
But the giant knight is knocked away by Kaide, a Knight we
may have seen before. He says that he didn’t receive such an order, but that
even if it was so, a Great Holy Knight shouldn’t order such a thing if he
represents the king’s will, moving to attack the others.
He uses his Makeup power, revealing himself to be Threader
from the Dawn Roar who tried to find Gowther before. He effortlessly defeats
the other two knights, wanting to fighter Gowther solo, the chapter ending on
the clash of their weapons.
Magi 216
We start with a scene of a horrible war, people fighting
because they each believe the other faction is going against the will of “God”
(Ilah or Il Irah?)
Ithnan, Ugo and Solomon move to destroy the Divine Staff,
which is the source of Il Irah’s power, it seems. They find a girl, who powers
the Divine Staff, but her life force is being drained. Solomon goes to help her,
releasing her from the constraints.
We are told that the humans forgot their goal of utopia,
instead using magic to enslave the non human species. A resistance fights
against this, freeing the demi-humans from the spells suppressing their
intelligence.
The girl rescued from the Divine Staff room is bewildered at
the festivities, since she was under a more oppressive rule. But Sheba insists
that she is right to die for Ilah, since the other species to her are a curse
on the world, having eaten humans, who are Ilah’s messengers.
Sheba leaves the group after they tell her they intend to
free the other species. But after running from the impure ones, she is nearly
killed in the desert. Solomon appears,
protecting her, but instead of killing the manticore, he uses his power to calm
it and send it to its mother.
Sheba continues to believe that the demi-humans are horrible
monsters, but Solomon tells her she is the monster here, asking her what she
thinks of herself as the chapter ends.
It’s possible that Ill Irah and Ilah are the same entity,
which would make sense, since the idea of Magi appears to be partly about the
corruption of the Rukh. If you use Black Rukh to summon Ill Ilah/IRah, then
things go badly, but White Rukh makes things better. So I’ll go with Ill Ilah
for now, unless they make a future distinction.
World Trigger 50
The new Trion solder unleashes a huge blast at the three
bullies, the surviving two retreating. Osamu and Kitora burst in to distract it
from attacking further.
A Marmod appears, Kitora volunteering to take on the new
Rabit and leaving Osamu to take on the Marmod. He thinks to himself that he
might not be able to do it without anyone else’s help.
We flash back to him training in a simulation room. Osamu
remembers that, while they seem to act like animals, they have programming that
makes them deliberate movements very mechanically.
But even with training, Osamu is having problems, since all
he can manage to do is defend. Karasuma advises him to visualize his victory,
his counterattacks more certain that way. If he can be confident and imagine
his attacks working, he can train towards that and his body will follow his
mind’s intent.
Osamu slices off the Marmod’s legs and then finishes it off,
his training finally paying off. He moves to help Kitora, but the chapter ends
as he sees something that shocks him off panel.
Naruto 667
Orochimaru’s group reaches Sasuke, Karin furious, but the
others realizing who it is, especially Orochimaru himself. It’s Kabuto,
having gotten free of Izanami and healing Sasuke. The reason Karin couldn’t
recognize him is because he absorbed many different kinds of chakra, changing its
fundamental composition.
The group asks him what he’s doing; Suigetsu speculates he
might be trying to absorb Sasuke like Orochimaru. Kabuto confirms he’s not
going to hurt Sasuke or absorb him, since he got advice from many people,
including Tobirama. But Itachi was the biggest influence, as Kabuto explains to
Orochimaru that the self the Sannin taught him disappeared, replaced with the
original Kabuto. He wants to protect the one place he can call home and saving
Sasuke is part of that, since he was inspired by Itachi’s motivation.
But Suigetsu brings up that Kabuto was the one who teamed up
with Obito from the start of this Ninja War. Kabuto says that they hadn’t found
themselves, but now they have and they know what they must do.
We move back to where Madara and the others are, Guy having
the situation explained to him. Kakashi managed to teleport Minato’s Sage Art
Rasengan away, Minato reminding everyone that only sage arts and taijutsu can
damage Madara. So now Guy and Minato are the only two who can fight Madara
effectively.
Kakashi brings up that Minato’s sage arts aren’t as good,
Minato agreeing, since he takes more time to generate the necessary energy and
at the moment he can’t even make seals.
Gai moves to fight, unlocking the 7th inner gate and
releasing green steam, at an immense fighting power now. He seems to do great
damage, but then is unable to fight after his finishing move, his muscles worn
out. Madara throws a black ball of Bijuu energy, Minato and Kakashi teaming up
to stop it from hitting him with the Hiraishin technique. But Rock Lee saves
them the trouble, pulling Guy away from the path of the attack.
Guy’s slightly hurt, insisting he can still fight. The
chapter ends as he implies he’s prepared to die, ready to unlock the final
inner gate.
One Piece 740
Luffy and Violet are running through the castle, trying to
escape Pica. Violet’s worried about Zoro, but Luffy insists he’ll be alright.
Zoro, meanwhile, is having difficulty really damaging Pica
We get a diagram of the location of Luffy, Violet, Zoro,
Kyros, the two gnomes with him, as well as Law, Riku and Doflamingo.
Kyros and the gnomes meet up with Gladios. Kabu and Ranpo
opt to make an opening for Kyros so he can get to Doflamingo. Kyros tries to
escape after Kabu and Ranpo have been seemingly hit with a huge explosion. But
Gladios catches up, revealing he’s eaten the Rupture Rupture fruit, able to
make anything inorganic rupture, which includes the toy body. Luffy bursts in,
knocking Gladios back before he can rupture Kyros’s body
Gladios is furious, seeing Violet the traitor, Luffy wanting
to fight him, but Violet insisting he’s too powerful. Kyros and Violet talk,
Violet saying she’s impressed at what Rebecca and Kyros have done, Kyros saying
he still has more to accomplish and that Violet and Riku suffered more than
anyone.
Gladios ruptures his head covering, wounding Violet. Luffy
takes her and Kyros, stretching himself up to the second floor.
Kinemon appears, disguised as Doflamingo. Gladios says he
should go the upper floor while he finds the samurai, suggesting they may fight.
Luffy, Violet and Kyros are right near Doflamingo, but Luffy
is told to wait. Doflamingo wonders how the gnomes and Straw Hats became aware
of things. He suspects Law, but Law insists he’s cut all ties with them.
Doflamingo then suspects King Riku.
Kyros is amazed that Riku has survived, waiting for the
opportunity when Sugar’s power is negated, not wanting to let the others’
sacrifices go to waste.
Franky is holding the Marines off above the underground port
and Smile Factory, leaving things to Usopp and the gnomes.
We see Robin’s become a toy through contact with Sugar when
trying to put the grape in her mouth, though she doesn’t have a contract on
her, thankfully.
Sugar and Trebol wonder about the grape, Sugar concluding it
must be poison. Leo and the others leave it in Usopp’s hands, but he’s
retreating at the chapter ends.
Toriko 269
The chapter begins as Terrycloth, Kiss and Quinn all appear,
going through training. Toriko appears, Terry overjoyed to see him and much
bigger after the year and a half they’ve been separated. Tom shows up with some
booze.
We see Mansam coordinating various efforts, the Saiseiya
trying to revitalize the soil and Capture Level Measuring Devices for use in
the Gourmet World are nearly ready as well, the overall reorganization of the
IGO moving forward. Their biggest goal is getting Gourmet World ingredients,
meaning that Toriko, Coco, Sani and Zebra must all be capable of entering it
and thriving.
Mansam flashes back to when he and Ichiryuu found Toriko,
nearly starved to death and giving the bread Ichiryuu presented to him to the
villagers instead. His own fingernails are nearly gone from biting at them and
what’s more, he, like Midora, has Gourmet Cells from birth, meaning he wasn’t
genetically engineered so much as he struck the genetic lottery. Ichiryuu
decides to adopt him, thinking his kind heart will help the Gourmet Age in the
future, especially with Ichiryuu’s own Full Course. He also looks forward to
what Toriko will have as a Full Course. Mansam reflects that Toriko is carrying
on Ichiryuu’s legacy.
We see Jirou and Setsuno in Gourmet World, finding
Ichiryuu’s grave prepared by Midora. The Million Tree and Food Immersion
Flowers are all along the area, which amazes Jirou, since this land was
supposedly infertile. He thinks that Midora must be amazingly strong now, much
more than he and Ichiryuu ever were. Setsuno says their overall goal shouldn’t
be Midora, but Joa and Neo. She even notes that Gourmet World is entering “Night”,
becoming dangerous even to experienced travelers such as them. They speak as if
they won’t return to Human World ever again, which makes me think that they’re
entering twilight as well in a way.
Komatsu confirms where Setsuno is with Nono, saying they
have to work their hardest to restore Human World. She offers to serve Komatsu,
both of them honored to be with what they consider great chefs.
Toriko explains to Tom that he has to talk to the Nitro from
Ichiryuu’s Safe Zone and prepare for a long journey, one he doesn’t know when
he’ll be returning from, if at all. The chapter ends as Tom says they should be
as strong as they can, since they’re the strongest representatives of Human World.
Bleach 571
Isane is bewildered at what happened, asking Yachiru
what happened to cause her nose to bleed, which she responds with equal
surprise.
Gwenhael appears, reintroducing himself and reiterating his
power. Yachiru strikes him again, but it seems to be ineffective. He explains
there are three levels to it: first is his form, then his essence, meaning that
what Yachiru hit was an after image, since the form lags behind slightly. He
can even switch between the two forms to attack someone without them being
aware. The first phase is invisibility, while the second is intangibility. He
can even switch between invisibility and intangibility so quick that even
someone like Yachiru can’t match the speed. But she’s getting close, so he
switches to imperceptibility, where they forget he even existed.
But Gwenhael is amazed at the instinct Yachiru shows, since
she attacks even though to her, this should be their “first” meeting. He thinks
Isane is more logical, but Yachiru’s reaction is enough to make him want to
know why she’d conclude he was an enemy without asking, which Isane inquires
about as well. Yachiru says he made her heart skip a beat, which infuriates
Gwenhael, since it means she’s acting a primitive instinct. He concludes to
defeat her before she manages to vanquish him.
Isane inquires further, wondering if it’s just a bad
feeling, but Yachiru says it’s a deep seated feeling of unease, not just that
the person is creepy. Kenpachi said the same sort of thing, but since Yachiru
still thinks Kenpachi isn’t around (not sure if she means he’s dead or just not
here at present), so she won’t be stealing his fun.
She unsheathes her Zanpakutou, Gwenhael preparing to make a
sneak attack, saying she can’t damage him unless she makes a clean blow. She
slices at him while he’s still intangible, but it manages to make a cut after
he retains physicality.
Yachiru explains that her sword duplicates her actions
within her field of vision, so even if someone dodges it, another attack will
make contact if the person doesn’t move. She manifests them, Sanpo Kenju, the
chapter ending as they attack together.
Fairy Tail 374
Lucy and the others plan to distract Keith and run away in
order to stop Face, but Franmalth appears behind him. Lucy summons Taurus and
Aries, the two working in tandem to create a cloud of wool, the group escaping
as Wendy reiterates the location of Face, which Keith seems to recognize or
register in his memory.
But as they get further away, Keith suddenly appears in
their path, preparing to attack. Gray suddenly bursts through him, distracting
the demon long enough for Lucy and the others to run away.
Gray and Keith square off, Lucy’s group meeting up with
Franmalth, Lucy and Happy getting stuck in Aries’ fluff. Wendy and Charle
escape as someone slices off Franmalth’s extended arm. It’s Natsu, wanting a
rematch from last time. Lucy explains the situation, Franmalth enraged, his
form changing as he reveals the full extent of his absorption power, having
assimilated Taurus and Aries. He can take any soul he’s captured and use it to
metamorphose himself.'
Natsu moves to strike, Franmalth morphing his face to look
like Aries, which stops him enough for him to slam Natsu down. Natsu attacks
again, Franmalth using Taurus, which Natsu says he has no issue beating up,
sending Franmalth flying.
Franmalth decides to reveal his most powerful soul, the
chapter ending as the others are shocked at who it is, Wendy still moving to
deactivate Face.
