Seven Deadly Sins 69
Threader asks Gowther if he believes in fate, Gowther being
scientific and insisting on probability. Gowther says they have no reason to
fight, Threader saying otherwise, since he believes, along with most every Holy
Knight, that the Sins betrayed the king and killed the Great Holy Knight
Zaratras. Gowther says he needs to finish Threader off quickly, but Threader
unleashes a new ability, Over Power, suddenly grappling him and snapping his
neck.
Threader walks away, thinking he’s defeated Gowther. We
flash back to his childhood, kidnapped by barbarians. After observing them to
learn how to fight, he unlocked his Over Power ability (meaning Make Up was a
magic spell, not his unique ability). He was then saved by the king of Liones,
who gave him a name and a purpose. This is why he will do whatever the king
orders.
Gowther understands this after having looked into Threader’s
memories, standing up. This shocks Threader as Gowther resets his neck,
explaining that his body is somewhat resistant to such attacks. Gowther says
they have the same goals, since the Sins serve the princess, who is trying to
help the king, whom Dawn Roar serves.
But Threader responds that it’s different: after their
betrayal, the king instituted a new independent order of knights, not unlike what
the Sins were in the past. To him, Dawn Roar replaced the Seven Deadly Sins.
Gowther is skeptical, wondering if the king himself said
these things. The kingdom is ruled by the two Great Holy Knights, Dreyfus and
Hendricksen, which is odd. Threader says it’s because the king is ill, the
Great Holy Knights his representatives, but Gowther inquires if he’s proven
this by seeing the king directly. Threader sees the error of his thought,
moving away, seemingly to meet the king, leaving Gowther alone.
Meanwhile, Guila (Geera was a temporary translation until
official rendering through the author) and Hauser are still fighting Dreyfus
and the others. Gilthunder attacks Guila, Hauser stopping him.
The combined technique ends, Jericho seemingly defeated,
while Helbram managed to use some resistance enchantments to take less damage.
But Dreyfus is unscathed from the attack, firing another blast at Guila.
But he misses, Gowther’s arrow revealing his appearance,
having saved Guila as the chapter ends.
Magi 217
We see Solomon’s group partying, Sheba the only one not
entirely enjoying things. Solomon’s group moves to take the next Divine Staff
with a giant dragon construct Ugo designed, powered by Lightning magic.
They explain about the Divine Staves, magical items able to
receive a huge amount of magoi from Ill Ilah; Sheba sees calling him by that
name blasphemy, of course. There are 72 in all, conveniently the same amount as
the Djinn that exist later, and the Orthodox group has most of them. Ill Ilah
gave the Divine Staves to humans to create world peace, yet they were used to
abuse other races. Ugo is amazed at their complexity, the magic involving
immense levels of ceremonial orders.
The group arrives at the Continental Rift, similar to the
one in the present world and they’re at an impasse. Solomon decides they should
rest before moving forward, greeting a Manticore village, headed by the
Manticores Solomon and Sheba met before. The others tell Sheba that Solomon
loves to learn about the other cultures and Sheba is amazed that Solomon
doesn’t truly understand the tongue of the other species, but uses his gut
feeling (probably speaking through the Rukh).
Sheba is still amazed at the complexity, not used to the
idea of these primitive “beasts” behaving like humans and creating such a city.
Ugo says that they may have behaved horribly in the past, but they understand
that they can be equals. But Sheba remembers her indoctrination, treating the
non humans as an enemy that must be controlled and seen as a constant threat.
The manticore child from before apologizes, trying to
communicate with Sheba. They start to bond over a picture book, Sheba drawing
her own depiction of a magician to compare to the manticore’s. He then alters
it, suggesting she put the flower he gave her in her hair. It’s a bit too big,
but the manticore is happy, the two continuing to draw for a while as the
chapter ends.
World Trigger 51
Osamu sees Kitora darting around the new Trion soldier,
shooting at it from every angle, her speed astonishing. Natsume and Chika meet
up with Osamu, Osamu saying they should evacuate, but Natsume thinks Kitora’s
got it. Osamu reminds her that Kitora’s never fought this kind of Trion
soldier.
Kitora is strategizing, concluding that gunning it will
waste too much Trion, so she has to get in close to attack with her blade. The
Trion Soldier suddenly shoots itself into the air, preparing to fire. It shoots
into the distance, causing random damage. Kitora tries to attack it, but it
quickly counterattacks, slamming her into the ground.
It looks like she’s defeated but she persists, slicing off
her own leg to free herself, firing a grapple from her gun, pulling herself
directly at the new Rabit, dodging its shot and slicing into its core,
finishing it off.
The Neighbor invasion leaders observe that they’re
evacuating, sending out smaller Trion soldiers that opens up new portals, even
more of the Black Rabit soldiers appearing as the chapter ends on the Neighbor
leaders saying they’ll capture everyone.
Naruto 668
The others try to dissuade Guy from opening the final gate,
especially Minato. Lee is concerned as well, but Guy says that he and Lee are
very much alike, both in their focus on taijutsu and their lofty goals.
Guy moves forward, striking a tenketsu: Madara observes that
his chakra’s moving to the death gate.
We see a flashback of Guy with his father, who is proud that
his son focuses on taijutsu, able to realize his weaknesses and make them a
strength. Other shinobi insult his father, Gai trying to fight them, but
losing. His father tells him that true strength isn’t defeating something
powerful, but protecting something special to you. Gai and his father bond as
he says he wants to protect that Springtime of Youth.
Dai passes on the Eight Inner Gate technique to Gai, telling
him he must decide on a special point at which to use the final art.
Gai and his team are saved from the Seven Swordsmen of the
Mist by his father, who presumably unlocks the eighth gate to protect his son.
Gai releases the eighth gate, Madara commenting on how the
red appearance is like autumn, Gai responding that it will nourish new leaves
in the spring. The chapter ends as he rushes forward to attack Madara with what
I believe is supposed to be Evening Elephant, following the theme of Afternoon
Tiger and other attacks.
One Piece 741
Usopp is still running, leaving the fight to Franky and
trying to find the lift. Trebol and Sugar notice the Tontatta are saying a
name, Usoland. They’re confident he’ll come to save them, but Trebol thinks
they’re crazy. Leo insists that Usopp will save everyone, even those ignorant
of the situation. Trebol thinks they were a fool to trust him, since he
believes such a person is a natural coward. But Leo and the others continue to
believe in Usopp, saying he wouldn’t lie to them, threatening to beat up
Trebol. Trebol then starts to step on them, Usopp unable to take it, calling
out a challenge from a nearby cliff.
The lies are revealed, Usopp telling his true identity. He
says he was deceiving them, but that, since they put so much trust in him, he’s
willing to become their new hero. He attacks with what function as Leaf
Shurikens.
Meanwhile, Doflamingo finds out someone’s impersonating him,
Violet, Luffy and Kyros still waiting.
We flashback to Kyros when he was younger, the king sparing
his life in exchange for him fighting in the colosseum. He fights with a dull
edged sword, like Rebecca, easily defeating his opponents. The exchange is 100
consecutive wins for release on parole by the king. But after that, he realizes
it’s better to stay here, since everyone sees him as a monster in regular
society.
The winning streak continues, Kyros getting to 1000 wins.
But Riku meets him at a grave, Kyros mourning his friends that were killed
before Riku took him in. He bemoans that he will only be remembered as a
murderer as the chapter ends. One Piece is on break next week.
Toriko 270
Mansam sends Toriko, Coco, Sani Zebra and Komatsu off to
Gourmet World; while in a bathtub, oddly enough.
Going back to where they found the Billion Bird egg, Toriko
reminds everyone that with every other ingredient, they had to fight a beast.
But it seemed like there wasn’t one here, but in fact, there was the mysterious
Nitro creature. They arrive at the house, Zebra attacking with Voice Cutter,
but the house is unscathed.
The group enters the house through the third floor, Coco
stunned to find erotic magazines, the others amazed at everything being made of
leaves, including the refrigerator.
Finding that there’s no stairway to the main floor, Toriko
tries to open a hole, but fails. Even Zebra’s Sound Bazooka has no effect. Sani
uses Dining Kitchen, finding a secret entrance in a well nearby. There’s a bath
and a sauna, Toriko and Komatsu almost going in. Coco notices something off
about the pond, diving in and ending up right where the well opened up.
Komatsu finds out that the first floor window opens
normally, the group dumbfounded by how simple the solution is, Zebra kicking in
the window.
The Nitro, mistaken for a GT Robo at first, awakens after
the group thinks it might be in cryptobiosis, a sort of hibernation. It even
speaks, enraged at the group taking so long and Zebra hitting him in the head
with the window.
The chapter ends as it introduces itself as Chichi, the
Taste Hermit.
Bleach 572
Yaachiru does a little dance with her Shikai, Isane amazed
at its nature, since it doesn’t transform and doesn’t manifest as if she were
training for Bankai.
Gwenhael seems to have survived, having concentrated his
reiatsu into moving backwards so he can react faster than normal. But his
glasses are cut in two and a chunk of his shoulder has been ripped out as well.
It seems like he’s dying, another Quincy, implied to have done part of that new
damage, appearing inside Isane’s barrier, which shocks her.
The person speaks as if Gwenhael was just created by their
power, explaining it briefly as making fantasy reality. Gwenhael moves to attack,
but the person destroys them. Isane is concerned about Rose and Kensei, but the
Quincy says they’ve already killed them. Isane confirms this, Yachiru attacking
from behind, which the hooded Quincy dodges, stopping Yachiru’s attack. She
says it feels like her arm’s breaking, the Quincy inserting a suggestion into
her mind of her bones being as brittle as cookies. The Quincy explains that
their power is making anything they imagine reality.
The wall explodes as Kenpachi appears, coming to save Yachiru
after noticing her reiatsu was getting low. The chapter ends on his disbelief
that such a little guy was threatening her.
Fairy Tail 375
We see Wendy and Charle flying as fast as they can to Face’s
location, Charle asking Wendy how they’re going to stop Face. Wendy isn’t sure,
but she still wants to try.
Back with Lucy, Natsu, Happy and Framalth’s fight, it’s
revealed that the most powerful soul he has is Purehito Hades, the previous
master of Fairy Tail before Makarov. Natsu reminds him that he was the one that
beat the crap out of him, but Franmalth responds that he didn’t do it himself,
counterattacking. He and Natsu exchange blows, but Franmalth catches him with
his arms and prepares to suck out his soul.
Natsu actives Lightning Fire Dragon mode, attacking
Franmalth. But then the magic’s soul itself is absorbed by the demon. Combined
with Hades’ soul, he’s now even stronger. The demons, according to him, are
powerful enough to take on an entire army with just one of them.
Mira is having problems fighting Sayla, unable to even land
a blow on her.
Erza and Kyouka’s fight is going evenly, Erza amazed at the
demon’s power.
Wendy and Charle arrive at Face’s location, entering the
cave. The chapter ends as we see Ezel, a demon we don’t know the powers of,
preparing to assault her from behind.
