A new series debuts this month: Super Smartphone, by writer Hiroki Tomisawa and artist Kentaro Hidano (of Ziga). Our lead, Q (or Kyu) is a genius who has become disinterested in his schoolwork due to his younger brother going missing in an unsolved case 7 years ago. But he finds a mysterious smartphone able to search for information created by humans, plus connecting with any other communications device. After verifying its authenticity, a recent crime makes Q utilize the phone to solve the crime anonymously and then, since the phone requires points earned by using it to find information related to his brother’s case, Q persists to find the truth.

Ayashimon unfortunately concluded at the end of the month

World Trigger took a break this month

Doron Dororon c21-24

While Naotora trains with Dora’s group, she feels a bit uncomfortable, though Kusanagi acknowledging her crush on Dora and encouraging her helps greatly. She notices something and elsewhere we see a mononoke called Dosan, arrive through a torii gate, a mysterious human seemingly having summoned them.

Dora and Kusanagi help Naotora to investigate mononoke incidents in a nearby prefecture. That night, Dosan contacts Kusanagi, the two having been friends in the mononoke world. But it seems Dosan betrayed them, Kusanagi only somewhat optimistic Dosan won’t do the same to him

Unfortunately, Kusanagi is betrayed, Dora and Naotora narrowly getting there before it gets worse. And with their teamwork, Dosan retreats, using his Phantom Fog to summon a giant ogre to attack Naotora. The pair reconciles and Kusanagi says he’s ready to fight against his former friend

Dosan tries draining Dora as he’s fighting various mononoke he summoned, but the energy is seemingly too much with their combined efforts. And even after using an illusory technique to distract Dora and Kusanagi with memories from their past, the pair resisting, now ready to face Dosan’s ogre he summons to fight them

Ayashimon 22-25 (END)

Maruo’s group arrives at the hotel, but because they need to keep things subtle to not drag the normal hotel guests into it, both the Urara and Kori Hotel group try to be subtle. Unfortunately, even with a good start, Maruo exposes them to Kori’s leader, who manages to cover things with his own excuse. A ritual duel begins, but Tamagawa isn’t Maruo’s opponent, seemingly Doppo (likely a tanuki in disguise)

It’s revealed Tamagawa is indeed disguised as Doppo, actually a full clone with a transformation forbidden amongst tanuki. And despite the risk to being trapped in the form, Tamagawa pushes himself to take on an even greater form after Maruo punches through the flames, now manifesting as a shadowy ayashimon, Maruo greatly harmed

We see Maruo seemingly in a weird fugue state, Tamagawa having used a deadly technique that may have killed our protagonist. Gyobu’s control is weakening and Tamagawa has gone berserk, attacking friend and foe alike. Maruo recovers thanks to the sense of friendship he’s gained with Urara and the others, suggesting that he use his training to pull Tamagawa out of his Doppo state, the youkai offering their assistance

Tamagawa is saved as Maruo, assisted by Urara, manages to find a new strength, not just based on power. And Gyobu Danuki offers his help, acknowledging defeat. The series concludes on a rather abrupt set up to the battle between Maruo and Doppo

4 Knights of the Apocalypse 60-63

Pellegarde faces the Ruby Knight and his allies, who insist Percival not intervene after learning he’s an Apocalypse Knight. Isolde is sulking elsewhere, approached by a mysterious person, but when Pellegarde is forced to only use his magic instead of fighting physically, he sends objects flying, which are blocked by the actual fourth Apocalypse Knight, Gawain, the Master of the Sun (seemingly a woman?)

Percival, even with his magic able to suck in Pellegarde’s magic, is unable to contain the immense heat, but Gawain comes in, showing she can even dominate his flames with her magic of golden hue. And the Four Knights of the Apocalypse, all united now, including Tristan with eyes indicating Goddess and Demon powers, now stand before Pellegarde, who’s excited and trembling with the prospect of fighting them.

Pellegarde flees, taking Percival with him after the boy tried to convince him to join them. But Gawain shows immense powers, using Absolute Cancel on the Perfect Cube Pellegarde trapped Tristan in and then summoning a Sacred Weapon, Litta (oddly similar sounding to Rhitta, Escanor’s weapon). But as she attacks Pellegarde, Percival demands she stop, the pair clashing

After Percival saves Pellegarde from falling, Gawain kicks the child knight away. Tristan tries to intervene, but Gawain knocks him aside, claiming only those stronger than her will order her around and Tristan refuses to turn his swords on an ally. Percival is saved by Pellegarde, who, thanks to Pelio’s magic wearing off, is stronger, able to parry Gawain’s attacks and beat the knight down, saying she needs far more training to use the potential she has, which makes the frustrated girl start crying

My Hero Academia 352-354

Shoto manages to defeat Toya, his capacity for keeping his flames cooled the major advantage he’s gained over Dabi’s intense and immense flames that even burn his own body, a glacial attack the final straw.

Dabi’s defeat is told to the other armies, facing other fighters, such as Spinner, seemingly empowered by All For One with some other Quirk, Kunieda, a mysterious Tartarus escapee who seeks to kill Aoyama and All For One himself taunting Endeavor with his failure to recognize Toya

Endeavor and Hawks are meant to be a tag team that can take down All For One without risking too many people, but Endeavor’s mental block due to his failure with Dabi in the past and Hawk’s physical limits because of his Quirk being weakened after his fight with Twice lead to Endeavor being wounded. Thankfully, assistance arrives with Tokoyami and Jirou teaming up as well to fight All For One

One Piece 1048-1050

Kaidou ignites himself into a flaming form, clashing with Luffy using Ryuo to strike him without making contact. Meanwhile, Denjiro saves Komurasaki from a revived Orochi who’s burning alive, slashing the tyrant’s head off and ending his reign hopefully (seen in flashback with Kaidou wreaking havoc as Oden burns)

While it seems Luffy landed a blow on Kaidou, the Emperor is still fighting back as we see a flashback of his rise to power from an early age, forced to work with the World Government at 13, then escaping and joining the Rocks pirates at 15. In the present, Momonosuke is still struggling to keep Onigashima afloat with his flame clouds and Luffy finally concludes the battle, sending Kaidou crashing down as he asserts he’ll make a world where his friends can eat all the food they want, contrasting with Kaidou’s survival of the fittest goal

As Kaidou falls into a hole parallel to the one Big Mom made, the lanterns are released and Onigashima lands safely with Momonosuke’s help. The shogun’s son tells Zunesha he won’t open the borders yet, the elephant accepting this. But an explosion results, Kaidou and Big Mom seemingly defeated, but likely not gone as Momonosuke, Denjiro and Komurasaki appear before the people of Udon to announce the victory
