Golem Hearts 9

Eir is before the Council of the World Federation of Arcanists, who are shocked to learn that she has taken a golem as a student. She continues to casually eat bread, saying that she chose to take him in because she believes in him, saying that there’s no reason to think that a golem can’t be in the federation.

The council still objects, but Eir insists that they shouldn’t be prejudiced against him and judge her student on his merits rather than what he happens to be

Egmont confirms that Noah is a golem, but the council is also concerned that he passed 3 people in the exam. He retorts that they showed talent in spite of the situation being against them and having no real backup from the federation arcanists present.

There is an objection regarding Noah breaking the Golem’s Tear, even though they did repair it. Egmont says that those were actions taken to ensure the safety of others as well as his own passing, both altruistic and egoistic. Egmont respects Noah, Eir saying that such a statement doesn’t suit his severe expression.

Noah and the others are recovering elsewhere, the golem arcanist saying that the test was easy, though Carles says that he and Erebus were the only ones not injured out of the students, Carles injured himself.

It turns out no one from the other fields passed, Lily having failed her test. Even with Noah’s encouragement, she’s worried she’ll keep failing until she’s old and decrepit

Noah goes to Erebus, apologizing for calling him grandson, since he recognizes his talent apart from his grandfather being Methuselah. He also gives Erebus some bread, since Eir likes it, Erebus taken aback by such a simple gift of apology

The vice president of the World Federation of Arcanists, Christhardt, says that he’ll let the 3 arcanists who passed show their strength by taking on a new request. They’re to stop a rebellious golem in Adelaida, located in the Podzol region.

Some of the council objects, since it’s a Riddle Golem case, something even high ranking arcanists have failed at. Christhardt says he’s already assigned 2 arcanists to the job, Noah’s group meant to accompany them.

And more importantly, since Noah himself could be considered a Riddle Golem, a golem that is unusual in the properties it has, such as sapience and self awareness, then he may help solve the case more easily.

Eir and Egmont both have no objections, but the council thinks that Eir might be too soft on Noah here. She retorts that she’s confident enough in him, and she tells Christhardt that Noah isn’t a golem, but an arcanist in this situation, the vice president apologizing for his slip of the tongue.

Noah’s group is told where they’re to meet their superiors for the upcoming mission. We see them arrive nearby, Lily shocked that she’s been included with them. Since Carles isn’t fully recovered, she’s there to offer support in the form of her healing though she thinks they just did it without consulting her beforehand.

The arcanists from the federation aren’t here yet, Noah and Carles wondering what’s happened

Noah notices something off in the distance, rushing off.

Carles, Noah and Lily arrive at the gate of a castle, stunned to see the two arcanists pierced by massive blades to the wall as the chapter ends.

Dr. Stone 42

Senkuu has put together the pieces of the puzzle surrounding Ishigami village. The fact that Ruri and Kohaku seem to have foreign blood also lends credence to his theory that he is somehow involved with the Hundred Stories that have been passed down for generations

We’re told by Ruri the final story is indeed called “Ishigami Senkuu”, speaking about Senkuu’s curiosity about the world, particularly about how the moon keeps following him. His father, having failed the astronaut program, knows about why the moon seems to keep after Senkuu.

With this motivation, shared in part by his father, Senkuu pursued science with greater fervor than before, in no small part to assist his father, making a suit that stimulated his muscles with electricity so he could do better on the clothed swimming exam that tripped him up before.

With the astronaut cadet exam starting soon, Senkuu’s dad continues to train and manages to pass the exam, wanting to go into space to make his son’s efforts worthwhile.

5 years later, he is on the crew of a ship headed to the International Space Station. Senkuu’s father, Byakuya, tells his son through the streaming that he’ll bring souvenirs from space, embarrassing Senkuu at school.

3 days after that, the stone incident occurred, meaning that Senkuu’s father was the one most likely to have founded the village, this revelation ending the chapter

We Can’t Study 45

Kirisu is at home, relaxing in the bath, when she learns that her sister is on vacation and is coming to her apartment tomorrow.

Yuiga passes by her again, feeling déjà vu as she shows a panicked expression when he tries to leave. He learns the situation, offering to help even though she insists she can do it herself, though her attempts seemed to make the room messier than before

Kirisu is impressed at Yuiga’s strength at moving her bookcase, thinking herself too weak to have budged it, remembering when he made it look like he was kissing her before.

They clean up and Kirisu offers Yuiga some sushi, something he doesn’t get to eat often, ready to eat with enthusiasm when the doorbell rings

Kirisu’s sister arrives, not wanting to wait until tonight. Kirisu tells Yuiga to hide, not even letting him eat the sushi.

Yuiga notes that Miharu, Kirisu’s sister, is much more upbeat and happy than Kirisu is, but he also thinks he’s seen her somewhere before.

As they start eating, Kirisu decides she’ll give Yuiga her portion, trying to feed him by giving the food to him through the closet door opening, but he bites her fingers instead.

Miharu starts to change, Kirisu trying to stop her. Yuiga has a box of Kirisu’s underwear fall on him as he trips out of the closet.

Understandably, Kirisu’s sister, having gone to all girls’ school, is shocked at Yuiga’s appearance, thinking he’s a pervert.

They explain the situation to her, Yuiga saying that he’s here because Kirisu can’t clean well but Miharu doesn’t believe that, growing up to think her sister was perfect.

Mafuyu says that Yuiga simply comes by to study, Miharu accepting this.

Yuiga realizes who Miharu is when he sees her skating on the television, hailing from Toukei Girls University, a prestigious school for figure skating.

Mafuyu explains that her sister isn’t quite a pro, but an eligible, able to participate in Olympics and the like

Miharu says it’s shocking that Yuiga doesn’t know that about figure skating even though he seems to be close with her sister. She says that Mafuyu should come back to figure skate with her again, saying she has the talent and that their parents would be happy

But Mafuyu stops her, saying she doesn’t want to hear about that again

Miharu then goes to the bathroom to change, but Nariyuki and Mafuyu remember that they piled up cardboard boxes from online shopping there, stopping her.

She thinks they must be hiding signs of a forbidden relationship, like toothbrushes shared in one cup and named towels. This is why her sister won’t go back to the path of figure skating in her mind, regarding Yuiga as the problem

The chapter ends as she resolves to make Yuiga forget all about Mafuyu by making him focus on her instead.

Black Clover 140

The mysterious person that appears from the base speaks very slowly, Gauche irritated at that speech tic.

Rades moves his zombie to attack, but the blast misses as the long haired mage warps away from it with the base shifting

Gauche and the others wonder if it’s a ghost, but Gordon says it’s a human. We see birds flock around them, Gauche confused at why it’s happening

Rades attacks again, the base shifting to block his attack.

Gauche thinks this means the magic is like the Game Magic from the Underwater Temple, needing a great deal of focus to have control like this over a particular area

We learn that Yami found the building when he became a Magic Knight Captain, the unnamed man bedridden because of an illness that made it so he couldn’t leave this place and also needed to siphon off magic from others over time. He had been abandoned by his parents or otherwise lost them, resigning himself to death.

Yami decided to use the location as a base, the man, named Henry, seeing everyone in the Black Bulls as his comrades, people who have kept him alive all these years.

Valtos finds the Magic Stone in one of the rooms, but Henry shifts the area around, changing it into a form that resembles a bull as the chapter ends with him ready to protect the place where he met his friends

Boku no Hero Academia 166

As the kids and Heroes in training move to fight, Shishikura steps in, saying that they shouldn’t stoop to the level of the children to change their hearts.

But the teacher says the children truly believe they’re able to beat their opponents, one of them sending black balls with teeth at Bakugou, who narrowly dodges. The other kids follow suit, unleashing a blitz of various Quirks

Present Mic is amazed at the diversity and power the kids are manifesting, Shishikura saying that this is theorized to be what happens as the generations pass, Quirks mixing and strengthening to the point of a Quirk singularity

The other students bring up the risk to Gang Orca, who says he’s been aware of the situation in spite of training them. He says that Bakugou and the others can handle this as we see that Todoroki has made a wall of ice, Inasa blowing away attacks with his wind Quirk and Bakugou exploding things.

We see the kid who brought up how violent Bakugou was tell the students to unleash more of their power. But as one of the girls utilizes her Quirk, she’s affected by Camie’s Quirk, Glamour, which makes an illusion of Todoroki speaking like a prince to her, which entrances the girl

This persistence by Inasa and the others infuriates the kid who’s seemingly the leader of the kids, saying that every adult he sees is incompetent in his eyes, that his generation should be granted power.

But suddenly, Todoroki uses his ice Quirk half to create a slide, some of the kids falling down to their shock as Inasa carefully moves them to slide down. He used their Quirks’ pieces as the basis for it, since he can’t shape the ice into complicated forms. The kids all clamor to ride the slide, Todoroki directing them to line up

We see that Bakugou and Todoroki found a compromise, showing the kids their power without just beating them down into submission, showing them that they can be Heroes but also have fun when appropriate.

Bakugou finds the arrogant kid, saying that he made it clear he was their leader. But he advises him to not just look down on others, since it blinds him to finding his own weakness, something Bakugou himself likely learned in the past.

The teacher is amazed at this, along with Present Mic and the others, the chapter ending as All Might says to Endeavor that this reflects what people are meant to do with their Quirks.

One Piece 891

Reports are still coming in of shattered mirrors, Luffy and Katakuri’s fight in the Mirror World still going on, the time now 9:30, meaning it’s likely been going on for many hours, not unlike his fight with Cracker the previous day.

Stussy decides to reveal to the others near the destroyed Whole Cake Palace that the Tamatebako was the item that caused the explosion before as we shift back to the Mirror World

The 33rd daughter of Big Mom, Charlotte Flambe, seen as the most popular little sister, is angry that Luffy is so persistent against Katakuri, the most popular brother in the whole Charlotte Family. She seeks to be the best little sister, the Little Sister King, wanting to make sure no one sees Katakuri struggling in any way with a fight

Luffy’s fight with Katakuri still seems in the Mochi Man’s favor, but Katakuri notices that the Straw Hat, in spite of being beat down consistently, is managing to see the future occasionally, clashing with him

Katakuri tells Luffy they know of the plan for the Straw Hats to meet up at Cacao Island, saying that they’ll be crushed before they get there, having to contest with his brothers’ battleships. But Luffy refuses to give up, saying he will escape

We see that Sanji and company have finished the cake that will stop Big Mom in her tracks, Sanji confident in spite of Pudding’s evil side trying to taunt him by saying his friends may already be dead or that Mom won’t like the cake

Both Sanji and Luffy are persistent in the face of danger because their friends believe in them

Big Mom is manifesting Prometheus’ power even greater, burning like a sun. Chopper wants to try to grab her and drown her in the ocean, but the heat seems to be too much even for that.

The chapter concludes as Big Mom smells what is likely Sanji’s cake, distracted from her attack.

One Piece is on break next week

Seven Deadly Sins 249

Everyone’s still processing that Merlin is a polar opposite to Meliodas and Elizabeth, having been blessed by the Demon King and Supreme Goddess, while they were cursed.

But Diane says they need to focus on Zeldris, Merlin stopping them from moving to attack as she pulls a hair from her head that falls on Hawk’s nose. It turns into a bizarre monster as we shift back to Zeldris and Merlin

He’s impressed that Merlin was the person connected to Merascylla and Greyroad, knowing tht she was part of a city that sided neither with the Demons or Goddesses, Belialuin, which is the flying castle where Gilthunder is

When the Demon King and Supreme Goddess learned of Merlin, a prodigy born with the power of Infinity, they both asked her to join them. But the child instead negotiated with them, being gifted divine protection from both as well as knowledge of various magic from the underworld by the Demon King. She tricked them, joining neither in the end and escaping as they rained destruction on Belialuin, destroying it utterly.

Zeldris asks Merlin what she wants, but Merlin counters by saying that she’s more interested in why the Commandment of Piety is helping Meliodas, someone he resents and hates deeply

Meliodas collecting the Ten Commandments would allow him to become the Demon King, but it doesn’t seem to benefit Zeldris.

He demands that Merlin give him Merascylla, saying he’ll leave the Sins alone if she does. Merlin does so, but encases the tube in a Perfect Cube before he can grasp it. Zeldris asks the Sin of Gluttony what she desires

As we see that the creature on Hawk’s head has been conveying the conversation between Merlin and Zeldris to the others, they continue, Merlin saying she wants them to give her Elizabeth. Zeldris declines, saying Meliodas wouldn’t allow it, but that she’s definitely safe with him nonetheless.

Merlin asks for the king of Camelot, but Zeldris says he doesn’t know his name or face, so he can’t be certain he’s even alive at the moment, though he thinks he might have something to do with the raids that have killed many Demons in the past few days.

She asks Zeldris to release everyone from his Commandment of Piety and guarantee their safety, Zeldris doing so, everyone snapping out of their confusion from his manipulations.

Zeldris then asks her to release the Perfect Cube, Merlin stalling by talking about how stiff her body is in this form. He says that she shouldn’t try anything to deceive him or he’ll take her down where she stands.

But Merlin says she won’t do anything, Zeldris shocked as he turns around to see a blast of light that strikes him, a massive explosion resulting.

The chapter ends as we see Rueduciel, still at the flying fortress, say that was just a warning and that he won’t be merciful next time.
