WSR 9-29-14

Trying slightly new formatting, might stick with it. Also still not sure what weekly series could replace Naruto, but if Tokyo Ghoul is getting a new sequel series and a scan group can keep up with it, I may use that, since I love the series.

And, if you like World Trigger and Seven Deadly Sins, the newest series in my line up, their anime are debuting today and tomorrow respectively.

Seven Deadly Sins 95-96

Many of the Holy Knights are starting to think the situation is hopeless, but Gilthunder again inspires them to continue fighting. Hendricksen takes their attacks and slaughters a group of Holy Knights with a single slash.

Gilthunder is struck by a black substance on the back, collapsing.

Suddenly, Diane uses her Creation power to send Hendricksen flying into the air on a star shaped piece of earth and knocking it further into the air with Gideon. Then King uses Chastiefol’s 8th form, but Hendricksen uses Dark Nebula, negating King’s attack,  shattering the earth pillar and knocking everyone away.

Ban is chastising everyone for not fighting with their all, but is cut in half by Hendricksen again, delaying his participation.

Hendricksen is slightly concerned he may have killed the sacrifice, Elizabeth, but he praises Meliodas for still protecting her.

Hendricksen moves to use Black Snow again, prepared to kill Meliodas as a dangerous existence. But he then changes it to an attack called Dead End that kills everything in close proximity to it, draining its life away. He throws the ball of anti life energy at Meliodas, saying no one can save them. But this chapter ends with Hawk appearing to protect the pair.

Next chapter begins with Hawk telling Elizabeth and Meliodas that he’s going to die so Elizabeth won’t take her own life when Meliodas dies. Hawk takes the attack, turning black and falling over dead.

Elizabeth is distraught, unable to comprehend that Hawk’s really gone. She screams in anguish, Meliodas enraged, along with Ban.

A light explodes from where Meliodas and Elizabeth are, pushing Hendricksen away, the light also reviving the plants previously killed by Hendricksen’s Dead End.

Margaret tells Gilthunder that this has happened before, but nothing like this. Elizabeth has hinted at some great healing power, helping her father and Veronica, as well as Meliodas and others in the past.

Hendricksen notes that Elizabeth’s power has awakened, that of a Druid Medium called the Apostle of the Goddesses. We see Elizabeth’s right eye has a mysterious symbol in it and she has a figure of an angel’s wings around her as the chapter ends.

World Trigger 76

Miwa rushes at Hyrein, Osamu worried about him fighting a Black Trigger alone, but Replica points out that since Hyrein’s bullets aren’t solid, Miwa’s Iron Bullets can go right through them. Hyrein catches on to this, firing a barrage of Trion bullets to overwhelm Miwa. But he counters with a multitude of tinier Shield Triggers to take the bullets and get in close to stab.

Osamu remembers Karasuma explaining that the Lead Bullet is a difficult Trigger to use, since it doesn’t have the range or speed of regular Shooter Triggers. You have to be agile and able to fire on the move. We see Miwa disrupt Hyrein again, dodging his attacks and make a solid sword strike on him, which impresses Hyrein. 

Miwa is surrounded by Hyrein’s fish bullets, Osamu wanting to make one more shot before they make a run for Border HQ. But there’s s slight malfunction, since Osamu used Chika’s Trion so much. Replica aids him, the shot blocked by Hyrein anyway as Miwa berates Osamu’s useless meddling.

Osamu and Replica make it to Border HQ, but are ambushed by Mira from behind.

Meanwhile, Yuma asks his connection to Replica about Osamu and Chika’s situation, having some difficulty with Viza. Replica tries to lie, but insists Yuma should focus on Viza, since he can afford to delay and stall the enemy while his other officers capture the main target.

Yuma remembers advice from his father: if you’re fighting someone stronger than you than either defend or run if you’re not protecting any allies. Yuma says that he can’t run from this, the chapter ending on a panel telling us there’s only about 3 minutes until the future crossroads.

Magi 241

We resume on a reminder of Gyokuen being murdered and the corps that defended Kou now fleeing towards Balbadd. Kouen orders Alibaba to go to Balbadd after the other Kou Empire members that have left.

Yunan tells Aladdin that he’d have liked if they could’ve talked some more, Sinbad at least happy the others understood they have to work together again Al Thamen. Yunan initially thought it was pointless to seek out King Vessels, but he’s now inspired again by Aladdin to follow Ugo and Solomon’s wishes.

Sinbad says he’ll help Kouen in Balbadd, but thinks Al Thamen may be taken over by Judal.

Alibaba then reveals his new alliance with Kouen and severs his ties with Sindria.

Olba also figures out that Hakuryuu was the one who killed Aum Madaura back when Olba was still a thief. Olba demands to know why Alibaba would do this, since he knows that Alibaba wants revenge against Kou for killing his family and friends a year ago with their meddling.

Alibaba responds that even if he hates siding with the people he seeks to overthrow, his desire to help the people of his home country is stronger.

Sinbad supports Alibaba and Sharrkan asks if Alibaba will fight Hakuryuu. Morgiana and Aladdin stand with Alibaba and say they will not kill Hakuryuu but bring him back as a friend.

Titus offers goods for Aladdin’s group, saying that Aladdin had so much more responsibility than him. Aladdin responds that they both had the wishes of someone else placed on them: Scheherazade for Titus and Solomon and Ugo for Aladdin.

Titus then explains that Reim won’t take sides in the fight of Sindria and Kou Empire. But he says he will fight with Aladdin if it comes to it, wanting to take Scheherazade’s desires to help the world and put them into action.

Aladdin asks if Titus is doing well with Mu and the others, Titus a bit concerned about Mu, being a half Fanalis and all.

Yunan explains this to Morgiana and the other Fanalis, also saying that the world on the other side of the Great Rift is far bigger than the world on this side and is the only original part of Alma Torran still around (reminds me of the Gourmet World in Toriko). Mu is accepted by all his full blooded Fanalis, saying he’s still their captain.

The chapter ends as Judal arrives in Kou’s capital city, noting he’s still not used to the teleportation magic and saying he will use this power as best he can to make Hakuryuu into a King as the final page shows Hakuryuu as the fourth prince of Kou.

Naruto 694

Sasuke begins to explain his idea of Hokage by saying he still wants to figure out why Itachi sacrificed himself for such a system. He knows from Hashirama and Tobirama that the system of the villages was meant to stop the endless war between clans and create some measure of peace. But Itachi was used as a scapegoat to keep the peace and was consigned to infamy.

Sasuke considers Itachi to be the true Hokage, since he was able to take everyone’s hatred onto him. But he didn’t predict that his younger brother would find out the truth and the hate would be redirected towards the village and the shinobi system overall.

Sasuke intends to take all the hatred hidden away in the shadows onto himself, since he is alone as the sole member of his clan and even severing ties with his friends. With that, he seeks to unify the village after burning the ground (proverbially or literally, I’m not sure).

Naruto thinks that everyone won’t agree with this method, but Sasuke doesn’t think it will matter, since he has the greatest power.

Naruto remembers what Itachi told him, that there are some things you shouldn’t try to shoulder alone, and tells Sasuke this, bringing up the fight with Kaguya as an example. Sasuke remembers Itachi telling him something similar after their fight with Kabuto, but still says that can’t be all. His overall goal is to sever the past and start anew, even if it means killing the 5 present Kage and the Bijuu.

But Naruto says that Sasuke can’t erase Itachi, since he’s what made Sasuke who he is today. Sasuke responds that Itachi is just a past memory now and he will kill Naruto as a final memorial.

Naruto retorts that he’s learned so much from people from the past and that the solution is to move on to the future, not to eliminate everything from the past.

Hagoromo tells Kakashi they have to trust in Naruto and Sasuke, and we’re shown the Sage’s conversation with Sasuke, who explains that with his goal of Hokage as one who severs all connections, Naruto is the final bond he must cut, as his closest friend.

The chapter ends as Naruto and Sasuke clash, remembering when they first fought as rivals in the academy.

One Piece 762

We continue the flashback with Donquixote’s family taunting Law (Senor Pink and Machvise are a lot skinnier 13 years ago), one figuring out he has Amber Lead sickness, which is why his skin is apparently white. Buffalo thinks it’s contagious, Doflamingo telling Jora that it’s not an illness, it’s a type of poisoning.

Law was apparently the only survivor, managing to hide in the mountain of corpses. He tells Doflamingo that he doesn’t believe in anything and isn’t afraid of death, still challenging his honor to Corazon.

We get a brief explanation of Flavence, where Law was from, called the White City because everything seemed to shine white. This was because of Amber Lead, which was what composed many crafts in the city. But it turned out that the mineral was poisonous once mined and the World Government kept this a secret even after they discovered it many decades before the trade boomed.

It also turns out that successive generations of people exposed to even trace amounts of Amber Lead would pass it down to their children and each descendant would have an even shorter lifespan until you have children like Law who barely live until they’re 10.

Eventually the country was quarantined for fear of an epidemic. But Flavence revolted and it was eventually so bad that the children were evacuated. Law stays behind to help his sister, but his parents and everyone else were abruptly killed in the fighting, leaving him alone. Even the hospital where his sister was is destroyed, Law completely without hope as the city burned.

Law, in the present flashback, stabs Corazon from behind, Buffalo seeing him and going to report it to Doflamingo as the chapter ends.

Toriko 295 

The group arrives at the Island of the Future, preparing to set off to Area 7 to find PAIR and save Komatsu. Atashino and Dinner have managed to stabilize Komatsu’s condition with an artificial pump, but they don’t know when it could go bad.

Brunch plans to take Octomelon and transport the Gourmet World ingredients back to Human World through the Food Bridge. Toriko leaves it to Brunch to deliver AIR, Atashino and the Gourmet Food Warriors protecting it on the way to Human World.

Daruma Hermit notices the new Camping Monster is coming to their location. It’s a Denshark, a Shark Train. It seems violent now, but will calm down in the next area, because of the Beast King ruling the area, Monkey King Bambina, known as the Problem Child of the Eight Kings. lt’s also said to be stronger than even Heracles.

But Toriko and the others are confident they can take him now, with AIR having enhanced their Gourmet Cells.

Mappy gives Toriko a charm he kept with him, hoping it’ll protect him as well. Toriko is worried about the Steel Clouds above Gold Swamp, but Heracles blows it away with a single snort of powered air. Toriko thanks the Horse King as they get on the Rainbow Bridge it created and head off as the second Menu item of Gourmet World begins, PAIR.

Bleach 599

We resume on Shutara speaking to Nianzol as he dies. She says he might’ve had a bad habit of being ineloquent, but she apparently forgets to remove the needles in her clothes, suggesting that was what stabbed him. She then moves forward slightly, thinking now she can attack Juhabach without issues. But he summons more Soldat through the mysterious shadow region, saying they can her soldiers.

He then summons 4 more Stern Ritter, his elite squad, to handle her (which creates a slight issue I’ll talk about at the end of the chapter). M, the Miracle, Gerard Valkyrie; X the X Axis, Lille Barro, C, the Compulsory, Pernida Parnkgjas; and Askin Nak Le Vaar’s Schrift is revealed as the Death Dealing

 

Askin comments that he was the only one chosen from the initial soldiers instead of always being in Juhabach’s special forces. Gerard says Askin better not be useless or he’ll kill the Stern Ritter himself.

Gerard rushes to attack Shutara, who blocks, her blade broken easily. Shutara then summons a giant soldier in black, the Shield of the Soul King. But Pernidas does something with their power, causing the giant to fall apart. Pernidas implies it was connected to her state of mind (a bit like Gremmy’s power) and the X Axis fires a shot at Shutara’s head as the chapter ends, saying that she couldn’t hope to know everything, so they were guaranteed to have an advantage.

By my assessment we have most of the letters covered, only N not even known who it’s associated with. This creates a problem with the fact that we have at least 2 Stern Ritter left without either names or letters in the case of Shaz Domino. Either we have people sharing a Schrift or there are somehow more, which would become a bit confusing. It’s entirely possible there are more shared Schrift, but an explanation as to why would be helpful if there’s another M, like Shaz Domino, who I feel would be the Marionette or Manipulator, since he’s able to control people.

Fairy Tail 402

Natsu rockets at Marde Guile, who asks who Natsu is, the Dragonslayer responding that he’s Igneel’s son.

Marde Guile blocks the attack, but is pushed back and after being shocked at Natsu’s revelation, is kicked back. Natsu says he’ll be taking the book, Marde Guile countering with his Thorn Curse. Natsu dodges it, Marde Guile surprised, since Natsu had never seen his attack before. Both Natsu and Igneel strike with Fire Dragon’s Iron Fist, knocking Acnologia and Marde Guile back.

Marde Guile contacts Kyouka telepathically, telling her to speed up Face’s activation. Kyouka says without Keith and Sayla, they can’t control the chairman, but Marde responds that all she has to do is speed it up, now that it’s online. All she has to do is make an Organic Link with the Lacryma in the control center and she can speed up the process greatly. Then they’ll make the mages powerless and even be able to steal the dragon’s life force, which is connected to reviving END in some way.

Kyouka is slightly worried, but Marde Guile pushes her by insinuating that she’s afraid of death. She responds that if it’s for Tartarus, Master END and Zeref, she’ll do anything, even sacrifice her life.

Kyouka leaps onto the control console, completing the Organic Link, so that she’s one with the main control center.

In order to stop Face, all they have to do is defeat Kyouka, but she thinks it’ll be impossible, revealing her Etherias form and slashing Erza as the chapter ends.
