Just when we thought things would be back to normal, Magi’s
on break this week
Seven Deadly Sins 66
We start with a full color page, revealing that Gilthunder
has pink hair (interestingly enough). Another color page that’s an
advertisement shows that Gowther has pink-purple (magenta?) hair.
Dreyfus walks up to Diane and asks what her goal is, the
giantess responding that they want Elizabeth back. Dreyfus is confused, Helbram
realizing that they are after the princess, but not sure how they got here.
Hauser is shocked, thinking Diane should run away. Gilthunder takes the
offensive, saying Diane is dense to not realize the dangerous situation she’s
in. Jericho volunteers to take her out, saying it’s not worth a Holy Knight or
Great Holy Knight’s effort.
But Diane counterattacks with Gideon, causing a huge
explosion that takes out a part of the mountain the castle’s on. Jericho is
saved by Gilthunder, who reminds her that with a Sacred Treasure, the Seven
Deadly Sins are much more powerful. He says someone of her level is too weak to
fight a Sin with their Sacred Treasure.
King, meanwhile, is worried, trying to get in through Oslo’s
mouth as well.
Helbram isn’t sure how they’ll get Diane, since she’s in a
relatively solid defensive position. Dreyfus orders Gilthunder and Hauser to
attack, Gilthunder using a powerful attack, Purge of the Thunder Emperor, which
is even affecting Oslo as it shocks Diane
We get the actual name of Gilthunder’s power, Thunder Bolt.
Hauser is hesitating, Dreyfus curious why, giving him a threatening look and
asking if there’s some reason he won’t attack this criminal. Hauser steels himself and attacks, combining
his Tempest power with Gilthunder, making a huge black tornado swirling with
electricity.
Helbram contributes, using his Link power to utilize another
Knight’s Ice power to throw that into the storm. It looks like Diane’s getting
beaten, but she counterattacks with her Creation power, making a giant sword of
earth shoot out of the ground, Ground Gladius.
Meliodas, Ban and Gowther notice this, Gowther volunteering
to go to where Diane is and help her, while the other two prioritize saving
Elizabeth.
Diane lands on the ground, the storm dissipated for now.
Dreyfus compliments her for not retreating, but also says they’ll start this
holy war by killing her. Diane continues to demand Elizabeth be returned,
Dreyfus amused that she’s the friend of what he considers criminals.
Diane uses Ground Gladius again, but Dreyfus stops it cold
with his sword, amazing Jericho and Geera. He notes how power results from one’s
ideals, but that he focuses purely on destruction and pushing forward, using
his power, Break.
The chapter ends as Dreyfus seems to fire what appears to be
a laser through her chest, signaling she may be near death.
World Trigger 49
Chika and Izuho notice the commotion and explosions near HQ
and Izuho is worried if they’re okay. Chika assures her that since Osamu and
Yuma are helping them, they’ll be fine.
The bullies who were picking on Yuma before are complaining
about being left behind for evacuation purposes, their leader saying that they
can prove themselves if they act smart. One of them brings up the new units,
the leader responding that if they come up, they’ll retreat, since he thinks
only idiots would risk their lives for no reason.
Some B Rank agents are fighting a Rabit, since it’s blocking
their path. The leader tells the other 2 to retreat while he distracts it.
Kazama’s squad has defeated a Rabit as well. They retrieve
Suwa, though it seems he’s been condensed into a Trion cube. The one who found
it is sent back to HQ to have them analyze it. Tokieda wonders if HQ is
alright, Kazama noting that they have Tachikawa and Isami, not to mention
Shinoda. And if there’s real danger, they’ll call in Amo.
We see Jin walking to where Amo is, the place
unrecognizable. He directs Amo to take his area, since he’ll want to support
the others where the stronger soldiers are being sent out, Amo accepting with a
bit of disappointment.
Kitora and Osamu see a huge amount of soldiers, Replica not
sure why they’re directing them to this side. Kitora is confused about Replica,
Osamu quickly explaining his nature.
Replica calculates that there’s a huge amount of Trion
invested into this attack, leaving the home country vulnerable. But the method
of attack is odd, spreading out their forces this much. Kitora thinks that
they’re trying to provoke the Border Agents into attacking, so they can kidnap
them to recover the Trion when they’re taken back.
But Replica says that with the Bail Out function, they can
avoid most of the losses and the Neighbors should know about that with previous
research and scouting. The true nature of the attack is still unknown. Replica
says they don’t want to outright destroy the base, since there might be Black
Trigger counterattacks, which can turn the tide of battle quickly even if the
enemy is on the verge of victory.
Where Chika and Izuho are, we see the C rank trainee bullies
from before attacking, even though they were prohibited from doing so, while
Chika and Izuho are helping evacuate. The basic Trion soldier they destroy
reveals another new form of Rabit, darker in color.
The chapter ends as Kitora and Osamu move toward that
location. World Trigger is off next week, so we’ll still be short a series.
Naruto 665
Madara asks White Zetsu about progress: Zetsu saying it has
half of the Kyuubi and Obito’s other eye. The others are astonished at Madara’s
new appearance. Zetsu starts to leave, confident that with Madara here, the
others can’t stop him. But Obito regains control, keeping Zetsu at bay.
Obito says he wants to speak to Madara, the others holding
back, since they need to keep the other half of the Nine Tails safe.
Obito asks Madara what he is to him, Madara responding that
he is a representative of his plan, a second Madara, not unlike Black
Zetsu. Obito served as a leader for his
goals until Madara came back.
Madara then explains the goals of the Sage of the Six Paths,
using chakra as a way for everyone to connect to each other. But people instead
used it to gain more power, creating ninjutsu. Even the Sage’s mother, Kaguya,
used it for battle. The contradiction came about that in seeking peace, people
continued to find conflict, more reasons to fight. Madara concludes that people
with power always seek more.
To Madara, Obito was another person who saw his ideals, a
world without conflict. Obito was initially another person stuck in the system,
competing with Kakashi, desiring Rin, wanting to be Hokage, all of that rooted
in the power of chakra. He refers to Obito as a savior, in that he was the way
for Madara to achieve his plans.
Gaara, Kakashi and Minato all attack Madara, Kakashi
teleporting Obito with Kamui, switching Minato with Obito to attack with a
Rasengan. Madara effortlessly knocks Minato away, also taking out Gaara and
Kakashi in the process.
Obito walks up to Madara, seemingly reaching out his hand,
but instead he stabs into Madara’s chest.
He thinks back to talking with Naruto about the path of
Hokage, leading for others and taking the path that isn’t easy instead of
following and taking the path of least resistance. He explains that he’s no
longer Madara’s pawn, he no longer believes in Madara’s plan. Madara simply
entrusted his name to someone instead of entrusting the plan to a comrade,
which is what Naruto encouraged him to do if he wanted to become Hokage and
live up to that ideal.
He prepares to attack Madara with the sage chakra, meaning
he’s retained some of it somehow.
The chapter ends as Obito forms the shakujo staff he had
when he was the Ten Tails’ Jinchuuriki, prepared to fight Madara.
One Piece 738
Leo and the others are preparing to slip the Tatababasco
into Sugar’s grapes. Trebol uses his power to strike at a fly, knocking a hole
in the tower. The precision of that impresses Robin and as Leo is going to take
the fake grape, she stops him.
We shift to the Smile Factory nearby, where 500 Tontatta are
being forced to work, abused by their masters. They’re being deceived, told
that their Princess can be cured by the Smile fruits, but that they need to
make more, since they can only use a tenth of them. They’re even manipulated by
saying that they can’t see her, since they might catch the disease as well.
Robin explains that while Sugar’s being guarded by Trebol,
who shot the fly between the eyes, they can’t try the plan.
The Pink Hornet squad is distracting the factory workers,
Robin taking the opportunity to pass as one of Trebol’s subordinates. She tells
him that there’s a problem and that some people are wounded, directing him to
another area.
The Tontatta swarm Sugar, demanding she return their friends
back to normal and free their comrades. She plays dumb, the Tontatta almost tricked.
But Sugar also wonders who told them all this. She thought they’d wait another
year, but someone provoked them. The Tontatta begin to attack, Sugar
counterattacking with an unexpected speed and skill, quickly striking at the
Tontatta and turning them into toys. She makes a contract for them to obey her
to the death, commanding them to attack the remaining Tontatta.
Sugar contacts Trebol, calling him back and revealing the
trap. Robin distracts him and he forgets Sugar calling him. The pirates say there’s
no trouble, Trebol attacking Robin, who manages to escape somehow.
The chapter ends as Trebol realizes the Straw Hats are after
them, using his Stick Stick fruit to grab a ship and throw it at the Executive
Tower.
Toriko 267
The group takes the Gourmet Case, observing that it’s really
old, since it can’t save data like more recent ones. While the rest of the
group leaves, Toriko looks back at the house in the safe zone. The ancient
looking Nitro continues to sit there, Komatsu calling Toriko to follow them.
The group meets with the other major chefs, Chiru asking
Komatsu where the other captured chefs are. Toriko explains that when he got
there, only Midora and Komatsu were there, Komatsu saying the rest were taken
elsewhere. Chiru says they plan to rescue them, since they need the help of
many chefs to restore Human World back to working order. Not to mention they
need lots of ingredients, which is why everyone was gathered to unveil the Full
Course of Ichiryuu.
Komatsu opens the chest, revealing the egg of the Billion
Bird. It has an immense lifespan and can self fertilize, laying an infinite
amount of eggs. Komatsu concludes that if they hatch it, they can feed the
entire Human World. He starts to try to incubate it, Sani suggesting another method.
Toriko says that they need to put all the ingredients of
Ichiryuu’s Full Course together. The Million Tree makes a support for the nest,
the Chameleon’s Tear waters the Million Tree. The nest must be made from
Princess Straw Grain, which must be watered with Lord Hail. Now they just have
to wait until it hatches, which Coco and Zebra suggest is only a few days. The
others go to notify the shops.
Komatsu asks Toriko why no one had heard of the Billion Bird
until now, Toriko replying it’s because it tastes awful. The Billion Bird had
so many predators, it developed the habit of laying countless eggs. But people
never wanted to eat it, even the predators lost interest, so it stopped laying
eggs and went extinct: amazing, since its lifespan is supposedly immense.
Komatsu wonders about what Setsuno told him once: that
ingredients choose the chefs; and whether the Billion Bird egg chose them.
Komatsu tells the egg that they want it to be born.
The next day, the egg hatches, Toriko continuing the Full Course
with the Mitarashi Kelp, feeding it to the chick so it grows up quickly. They
feed Dry Melolon to the Survival Bug Larva: the next two ingredients, and the
Survival Bug metamorphoses, eaten by the Billion Bird. Now the Billion Bird is
ready to lay eggs. Toriko surprises it and it starts laying eggs: those eggs
hatch immediately and the true purpose of the Full Course is revealed: an
infinite supply of Billion Birds.
The chapter ends as Komatsu responds to Sani and Zebra’s
skepticism about the bird being tasty, saying he and the other chefs will make
the Billion Birds delicious.
Bleach 569
Byakuya’s appearance excites As Nodt, who taunts him about
his defeat before. Rukia thinks he did this to draw Byakuya out (which he kind
of already hinted at when they first started their fight)
It looks like As Nodt will use his power on Byakuya, but he
uses Senbonzakura to slice the eyes. As Nodt initially thinks it was the
Bankai, but Byakuya reminds him that the Bankai uses the whole sword.
Byakuya compliments As Nodt for stealing his Bankai, since,
much like the other captains, he had to focus on just his Shikai, mastering it
to its fullest.
As Nodt is furious, morphing into a new, even more monstrous
form.
Byakuya praises Rukia for her new strength that he noticed
as he came to their location. He then explains that fear has an origin in unease
or panic, but that Rukia has nothing to fear with her strength.
As Nodt moves to kill Byakuya, but he leaves, saying Rukia
will finish this. He says if she has no fear, than all that is manifest by As
Nodt is his own fear.
Rukia unleashes her Bankai as the chapter ends, a huge cloud
of white mist appearing in the final pages.
Fairy Tail 372
The chapter starts with Kyouka in chains, Erza wanting a bit
of revenge. She presses Kyouka for the location of Mira and Elfman, Kyouka only
knowing where Mira is, directing them to the laboratory above them. Natsu and
Lisanna leave Erza with Kyouka.
She asks what the vibrations were about, Kyouka explaining
that Face is ready to be activated. But Kyouka notes that Jellal isn’t dead.
Erza asks why they want to use Face, Kyouka saying it’s to return to Zeref. She
breaks the chains, since they’re meant to seal magic, not the curses they use,
and attacks Erza, who blocks the strike and counterattacks.
Erza accuses them of being Zeref’s blind followers, but
Kyouka says, like the Lullaby book from an arc early in the series, they are
books written by Zeref and they came from those texts. Zeref is like a god to
them, since he made them
But Erza thinks they should make the decision for
themselves, not simply do it out of a sense of duty to Zeref. She strikes
Kyouka with a huge lance, getting an apparent victory.
Meanwhile, Gray and the others are fighting off the soldiers
of Tartaros. There’s seemingly no end to them and there’s the difficulty of
getting to the castle with the gravity field. From the bottom of the cube,
where the group is, Erza bursts out, Kyouka on the end of her attack.
Natsu and Lisanna are found by the guards, Natsu holding
them off while Lisanna finds Mira. The guards Natsu defeats are seemingly
frozen in time and Zeref appears behind Natsu, having waited for him. The
chapter ends as he refers to this cube as the bookshelf of his books, the
demons.
