World Trigger is on break this month

 

Do Retry by Jun Kirarazaka, author of Bone Collection, focuses on Okami Aozora, a child orphaned post WW2 and trying to help his ill sister, who originally was quite tough herself much like their father, a boxing champion. But in order to get treatment for her tuberculosis, he tries fighting thugs that took his late mother’s kimono and is recruited by the female boss, who sees his talent for boxing

 

Nue’s Onmyouji by Kouta Kawae, virtually new to the manga scene, has a high school student, Yajima, who can see spirits. He meets a powerful spirit named Nue and in a dangerous situation, he takes her offer of power to fight a spirit that threatens his classmates, now seemingly in a contract

 

 

Nue’s Onmyouji 1-3

 

Our lead, Gakuro, tries to avoid any trouble, because of spirits only he can see that react to people’s negative emotions.  He finds Nue, a powerful humanoid spirit and spends some time with her in spite of reservations, his father dying while fighting a spirit in the past. She offers him power when many spirits conglomerate into a stronger form and he unleashes a strong attack to defeat it

 

 

 

Nue appears as a clone to interact with Gakuro more, explaining that exorcists restored things to normal after the destruction of the school. Another spirit attacks by possessing the teacher. They stop it, Gakuro’s bond with her still unclear in a way, since she claimed she was his stepsister to the class

 

Gakuro helps a classmate with a minor spirit and she offers to have lunch with him, eventually revealing she wants to start an occult club. They find the room where Nue is and the girl, Kazusa Suo, reveals she’s an exorcist

 

 

Fabricant 100 19-23

 

Ashibi and No. 100 till a field after accidentally pulling vegetables too early, learning how the people in Mortsafe that aren’t combatants are working to help in their own way. Unfortunately No. 1 and his assistant arrive, killing the man they were helping as Ashibi takes the logic put forward by the Fabricant about how right and wrong come from a sense of similarity, not feeling wrong killing No. 1

 

 

 

As we see No. 1’s motivation to surpass the doctor, he reveals that the other Fabricants working for him are occupying the Five Stars in Mortsafe. Ashibi manages to use the Blood Blocking Veil and No. 100 destroys the small group of Fabricants helping No. 1, saying that she will force him to use Ashibi the way she desires

 

No. 100 finds that No. 1’s assistant, No. 91, is actually able to pose a challenge to her, having been vastly improved. And after being beaten to the point of bleeding, No. 100 remembers when she was born, a fire consuming her body

 

The flashback seems to connect No. 100 to someone the doctor cared about, possibly used as a human base for a Fabricant instead of being made from scratch. And No. 100, in the tense moment before No. 91 attacks again, having already cut off her fingers, unlocks the full potential of her abilities, able to emit flame.

 

 

4 Knights of the Apocalypse 103-106

 

The group enters the Demon Realm with Ioladio’s help, Tristan casting a protective spell against the miasma, though it will only last 6 hours. And we see Zeldris is now the Demon King, having taken his father’s place

 

 

 

Percival remembers something as the group sees they’re in a giant wall with holes in it, told as a child by someone (likely Zeldris, given he references a Gedda and his own name as Thell, because it’s a young Percival with a lisp) about how those holes lead to various places in Britannia. After being chased by demon beasts, Percival and friends are brought before the Demon King, who recognizes Percival, who indeed was the child in the flashback

 

The others are threatened by the demons, especially Tristan, with his mixed heritage, but Percival indeed knew Zeldris and Gelda, having gotten lost in the Demon Realm and eventually finding his grandpa. His family issues ring familiar to Zeldris with his own father and Percival realizes his sword given by Meliodas is gone, the risk of the Coffin of Eternal Darkness being restored quite real, everyone heading out to find it

 

Percival finds a Chaos Knight while his mini Percivals discovered the Percival Sword. But we see that she was part of a retinue sent out to find Percival and the other Apocalypse Knights. And seemingly had her own plans, only stopped because one of the Chaos Knights used a Goddess spell to weaken her. Gawain encounters the Chaos Knights and moves to fight them

 

 

My Hero Academia 387-389

 

Geten and Compress talk about how Geten’s family, seemingly related to Todoroki Rei (nee Himura), spread themselves out, part of the Quirk marriage phenomenon. Meanwhile, Endeavor tries to take himself and Touya into the sky before he explodes, but Rei arrives on the scene, her ice Quirk potentially able to help and that part manifesting in Touya as he nears death

 

 

 

Rei pleads with Toya to stop and even Fuyumi and Natsu arrive, all having gotten there after escaping the UA segment and transported by the helper robots. And it seems they might get through to Toya somehow

 

The explosion is still imminent even as it starts to weaken for a moment. And the kids that Shoto and Bakugou helped in the provisional license exam are confident that "Five Weiners" can save the day, Shoto being transported by Iida to the scene

 

 

 

One Piece 1082-1084

 

We learn that T Bone, a Navy Vice Admiral, was killed, connected to the Cross Guild and their bounties on Marines, which a citizen took advantage of because his family was starving. Buggy, jealous of Shanks’ position and now at his level, inspires his group to seek out the One Piece for themselves. Meanwhile, Sabo returns and tells Ivankov and Dragon in secret about what happened at Marijoa that we didn’t see

 

 

 

The Revolutionary Commanders discuss how they’re sabotaging Marijoa, even having started rebellions in several countries, though Lulusia was among them and destroyed. But Sabo explains what really happened during Reverie that has him painted as the one who killed Cobra. The Revolutionary Captains are fighting the Marine Commanders and Vice Admirals, Morley keeping Ryokugyu at bay. Sabo is trying to find Kuma while we see Cobra ready to meet with the Five Elders

 

Sabo and Jewelry meet up and split up, having their own individual goals, but both wanting to help Kuma. Shirahoshi is saved by Sai and Leo beating Charlos nearly to death, Kuma restrained by the Revolutionaries.  Meanwhile, Cobra speaks to the Five Elders about how the Nefeltari family was actually descended from the 20 founders of the World Government, the others living in Marijoa as the Celestial Dragons. But it seems there was a cover up involved and he approaches the Empty Throne to find Imu.

 

 

 

 

Black Clover 359-360

 

The Silva siblings are unable to face their mother, except Noelle, who stands up, inspired to get stronger still for when Asta returns. We see that Noelle’s new power up, in the form of a draconic appearance to Valkyrie Armor, is from Leviathan, the Sea God spoken of in the Water Temple by Kahono

 

 

 

As Noelle attacks her mother, we see Lucius’ fight with Yuno take a turn, Yuno utilizing Notos, a shield to block Lucius’ attacks. And the future sight Lucius has is challenged greatly because of Asta’s influence on everyone else, many things drastically different from what he saw, such as Mereleona and Fuegoleon both still alive instead of having died
