Newest Jump series is Beast Children by Kento Terasaka. It features Sakura Shishigaya, a boy who really enjoys rugby, but doesn’t have anyone to play with. Inspired by a great player, Ikki Onotora, he strives to find someone that desires to feel the impact of tackling as much as he does. After coming into conflict with Yukito Onotora (not aware that he’s the son of his hero), Sakura has a brief rugby challenge and manages to tackle Yukito with sheer grit.

Dr. Stone 106

Amaryllis explains how the petrification is a thrown weapon with an effective range and she managed to escape by breaking off her petrified locks of hair. With this in mind, Senkuu’s group decides that Kohaku also needs to come to assure success in taking the weapon, prettying her up for the selection coming up

We Never Learn 112

After eating super spicy ramen, Uruka has a number of attempts to avoid Yuiga seeing her sweat while they study, leading to the room getting exceptionally hot. They avoid Mizuki misunderstanding and as Yuiga takes Uruka home, they have another moment of romantic tension when he says he could never hate Uruka, who interprets it as more

Fire Force 174

Hague’s death by the gold spear using White Hood is deemed a suicide officially, but others suspect foul play, including Shinmon. Shinra and Arthur realize the power of Superfire, but are exhausted by the training. As Commander Burns muses that the 1st division must stand strong against the Evangelist’s forces, we see them mobilizing, Sho still under Haumea’s control

My Hero Academia 229

Twice comes to realize he is the original and not a clone, gaining new resolve to protect Toga and unleash his Quirk’s power with more intensity.

One Piece 943

We learn that the faulty SMILE fruits, 90% of them, cause people who eat them to be unable to express anything but happiness, particularly in Ebisu Town. Toko is about to be shot by Orochi, but Sanji and Zoro arrive to stop him.

Black Clover 206

Lumiere and Licht reunite happily and Licht forgives Patri in spite of what he did, the group fighting against the demon. But even with Lumiere and Licht’s combination attacks, the demon unleashes an antimagic trident, only Asta able to fight evenly with such power.

Seven Deadly Sins 311

Elizabeth is saved by Merlin at the last minute and the group deduces that since Elizabeth’s curse was put in place by the Demon King and is still active, that the Commandments must still be in a vessel. We see that Zeldris managed to be recovered by Cusack after Chandler was killed by his other half and the Commandments put into the Demon King’s other son, giving him the other half of his power.

WSR 5-20-19

Another new series (2 more after this), Double Taisei, by Kentaro Fukuda, who did Devilyman in 2015. Tai, a shogi player in junior high (8th grade) has a surprising secret about his skills, a dissociative identity that comes out at night. The two play shogi together and the night personality, Sei, seems uninterested in shogi, having quit 5 years ago. But during the pre-qualifiers, the match goes late and Sei appears, deciding to play again to help his other self

Senkuu’s group learns that the girl, Amaryllis, seeks to become the most beautiful girl and marry into a harem, the head of which apparently knows the secret of petrification, in order to stop him, allying with Senkuu.

We Never Learn 111

Yuiga goes along with Mafuyu to look at a new apartment, where it seems like there’s signs of haunting and even after a girl appears, seemingly just playing pranks, it seems like she might actually be a ghost herself

Fire Force 173

Shinra seems to unlock some new power with the pressure of death upon him, but we see that Konrou’s Adolla Link seems to be normal enough. But we also learn how Kayoko might’ve been burned by Shinra when he was younger, his flames more powerful. At the 4th Division, Hague, who also has stigmata from the Adolla Link, is attacked by a White Hood, striking him through the back from behind somehow.

My Hero Academia 228

Dabi and the ice-user square off, his opponent having trained a great deal to combat fire in spite of their weakness to it. Meanwhile, Twice is approached by puppets made by Skeptic of the MLA in his own image, making him paralyzed with confusion

Black Clover 205

We see how, with Sekre’s magic tools, Lumiere manages to stop Licht, but the demon has to be sealed, which then makes Sekre start to change from being a human. And after keeping the Wizard King in stone stasis, she becomes a bird, keeping Licht’s corrupted grimoire safe from 500 years. Asta and company are still fighting the demon, Lumiere and Nero both arriving to assist

Seven Deadly Sins 310

Elizabeth and Meliodas bid farewell to everyone, but as she enters the gate to the Demon Realm, she’s seemingly killed by a mass of falling stone nearby, suggesting the curse isn’t destroyed for her (since that was from the Supreme Goddess, not the Demon King like with Meliodas)

WSR 5-6 + 5-13-19

We have a new series by Akira Okubo as the artist and Masashi Kishimoto, author of Naruto and Boruto as the writer, Samurai 8: The Story of Hachimaru. It’s set in an sci fi world and our lead, initially sick and weak, gains the power of a samurai, which means a body that cannot be easily destroyed and strength to face his enemies and protect his father. The background is interesting in how it utilizes more Hindu mythology and references as Naruto did over time and also has samurai ideals as the focus in contrast to ninja (even if they’re pretty similar)

Dr. Stone 104

Senkuu and Gen play CSI and investigate the scene to figure out where the person that left the shells is, so they can find an ally to challenge the people that turned the others to stone, Soyuz having remembered that he was leaving the island as a baby from his people being petrified as well. They trace it back inland, discovering a woman being proposed to by 3 men

We Never Learn 110

Yuiga encourages Asumi to think positively in spite of the clinic shutting down, her mother giving him words that inspired him to suggest a new perspective: that she can make whatever place she works at as a doctor the new Kominami Clinic. But her father, seemingly inspired by her and Yuiga’s interactions, decides to just open it up on weekends.

Fire Force 171-172

Tamaki unlocks more potential as she faces Hikage and Hinata, even Shinmon acknowledging that she’s become more powerful now after evading the twins for a minute

Meanwhile, Arthur and Shinra’s training starts in earnest after being drained of energy by all the bizarre “hazing”. Shinmon says they need to understand the pressure of death along with the breath of life to truly unlock Superfire power. But the training seems to be at a standstill, Shinmon starting the true stage when they’re on the verge of tephrosis (previously called Ash Disease)

My Hero Academia 227

Curious’ death only motivates the MLA, but Shigaraki sees another flashback that he doesn’t recall the context for, killing even more members as Spinner watches on. Dabi is attacked by an Ice Quirk user whose face is hidden.

One Piece 942

Yasuie says that the hidden mark for the Kouzuki revolution was all a prank by him, taunting Oden and calling him a coward, the shogun killing him as Toko arrives. The people of Ebisu town laugh, mourning in their own unique way as Komurasaki stops Zoro from intervening.

We flashback to Nero first meeting the Wizard King, Lumiere, as a human called Sekre. They worked together to make the magic tools and were hopeful for a future with elves and humans allied. But the demon stopped him and initiated the plan. Licht, about to transform fully, asks his friend to kill him before he turns.

Seven Deadly Sins 309

Elizabeth and Meliodas explain briefly about how they are either content with (because otherwise the world would be in danger) or were unwilling in Meliodas’ case, to talk more about him having to leave. The group goes to Edinburgh, where Meliodas releases Gelda, telling her about Zeldris’ love for her, the vampiress leaving to find him. Bartra asks Meliodas to marry Elizabeth and take his place, but Elizabeth rejects the offer, saying she’s going to the Demon Realm with Meliodas.
